  • how IEEE-754 floating point numbers work

    - by hatorade
    Let's say I have this: float i = 1.5 in binary, this float is represented as: 0 01111111 10000000000000000000000 I broke up the binary to represent the 'signed', 'exponent' and 'fraction' chunks. What I don't understand is how this represents 1.5. The exponent is 0 once you subtract the bias (127 - 127), and the fraction part with the implicit leading one is 1.1. How does 1.1 scaled by nothing = 1.5???

  • Twitter Oauth GMT / BST problem

    - by Andrei Serdeliuc
    I keep getting 401 when trying to login via Oauth with Twitter. I'm using twitter_oauth-0.3.3 with oauth-0.3.6 in rails It used to work perfectly some time ago, so after some digging, I realised it might have something to do with my timezone. In the headers of the Twitter response, one of them is: date: - Sun, 11 Apr 2010 16:53:34 GMT Even though the time is actually 17:53:34 BST I'm assuming the request is signed using BST time, and so it fails. Anyone had this problem / found a fix for it?

  • iphone app submission errors

    - by Oliver
    When I try to add my application, I get Info.plist does not contain a CFBundleResourceSpecification and Application failed codesign verification. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate. I don't understand! I'm so frustrated, I finished my two apps and now I can't submit them. I checked the provisioning licenses and app ids and that whole process a many times over, I dunno what I'm doing wrong here. Can anyone help? :(

  • Create certificate for a client app in .NET

    - by galets
    I'm looking for a server app to be routinely generating certificates for client applications using self-signed root. Is there any streamlined process in .NET to programmatically generate those certificates? I can, of course, keep spawning makecert or openssl, but I was looking for more programmatic, in-memory method, when you just get X509Certificate on output. If someone got a code snippet, can you please share?

  • How to use ResourceManager in a "website" mode ?

    - by Erick
    I am trying here to do a manual translation for the application I am working with. (There is already a working LocalizationModule but it's working dodgy, so I can't use <asp:Localize /> tags. Normally with ResourceManager you are supposed to be using it as Namespace.Folder.Resourcename (in an application). Currently I am translating an existing asp.net "website" (not web application so no namespace here....). The resources are located into a folder name "Locales/resources" which contains "fr-ca.resx" and "en-us.resx". So I used a code with something like this : public static string T(string search) { System.Resources.ResourceManager resMan = new System.Resources.ResourceManager( "Locales", System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly(), null ); var text = resMan.GetString(search, System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture); if (text == null) return "null"; else if (text == string.Empty) return "empty"; else return text; } and inside the page I have something like this <%= Locale.T("T_HOME") %> When I refresh I have this : Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make sure "Locales.resources" was correctly embedded or linked into assembly "App_Code.9yopn1f7" at compile time, or that all the satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Resources.MissingManifestResourceException: Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make sure "Locales.resources" was correctly embedded or linked into assembly "App_Code.9yopn1f7" at compile time, or that all the satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed. Source Error: Line 14: System.Resources.ResourceManager resMan = new System.Resources.ResourceManager( "Locales", System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly(), null ); Line 15: Line 16: var text = resMan.GetString(search, System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture); Line 17: Line 18: if (text == null) Source File: c:\inetpub\vhosts\galerieocarre.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\App_Code\Locale.cs Line: 16 I even tried to load the resource with Locales.fr-ca or only fr-ca nothing quite work here.

  • HTTPS connection in BlackBerry Java Midlet

    - by Casebash
    My Java ME Midlet works fine on Java phones and the BlackBerry simulator, but I can't receive a connection on a BlackBerry. I see a message that asks for permissions to connect, but when I select yes, it doesn't connect. I even checked on the server, but no connection was provided. My application isn't signed. Does anyone know why this might be failing?

  • use bouncy castle to create public key on j2me

    - by mike
    I got the public key from the certificate, keypair is a java.security.KeyPair object String public_key = keypair.getPublic().toString(); I want to send this to the via an http connection to a J2me application. I cannot find any documentation to convert the transmitted string to a Public key that can be used to encrypt Strings. I also want the J2me to verify signed strings from the server. I want to then send the encrypted strings back to the server.

  • Ignore SSL errors in Zend_Http_Client

    - by webdestroya
    In PHP curl there are two functions used to ignore all SSL errors (invalid cert, self signed, expired, so on): curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, false); I am switching over to use Zend_Http_Client, but I can't seem to find a way to force it to ignore errors. (I don't have a way to test it just yet, I wanted to see if anybody has done this before) So, does anybody know the equivalent function/functions to do this in Zend_Http_Client?

  • Lost cert for published app

    - by John in MD
    I have a free app published in Android market. I have lost the certificate used to sign the current version but I want to publish an updated version. Android market refuses to accept my upgrade because it is signed by a new certificate. I realize the users will have to uninstall the current version to get the upgrade but it's not clear how to get the updated version into the market so that the current users will find it. What are my options? Thanks, John

  • Xcode SDK version for testing & release?

    - by fuzzygoat
    I am just putting the finishing touches to an iPhone app that I have written, signed up to the developer program and installed Xcode 3.2.2 (1650) My question is which version of the SDK should I be using to build my application? I was thinking I should be using the latest 3.2 but when I select that I can only access the iPad simulator ... Should I be using 3.1.3 which runs the iPhone simulator. (NB: I originally developed the app in 3.1.2 cheers gary

  • Creating a Cerificate for Bouncy Castle Encryption

    - by Gordon
    I am trying to create a self-signed certificate to use for encrypting an email using bouncycaste. What would be the best way to generate a certificate? I have tried using openssl but I have had problems with certificate. Here is the code I am using to encrypt, I am using 3des. SMIMEEnvelopedGenerator gen = new SMIMEEnvelopedGenerator(); gen.addKeyTransRecipient(x509Cert); // adds an X509Certificate MimeBodyPart encData = gen.generate(mimeBodyPart, SMIMEEnvelopedGenerator.DES_EDE3_CBC, "BC");

  • Interview question: f(f(n)) == -n

    - by Hrvoje Prgeša
    A question I got on my last interview: Design a function f, such that: f(f(n)) == -n Where n is a 32 bit signed integer; you can't use complex numbers arithmetic. If you can't design such a function for the whole range of numbers, design it for the largest range possible. Any ideas?

  • Question about C behaviour for unsigned integer underflow

    - by nn
    I have read in many places that integer overflow is well-defined in C unlike the signed counterpart. Is underflow the same? For example: unsigned int x = -1; // Does x == UINT_MAX? Thanks. I can't recall where, but i read somewhere that arithmetic on unsigned integral types is modular, so if that were the case then -1 == UINT_MAX mod (UINT_MAX+1).

  • C Programming: malloc() for a 2D array (using pointer-to-pointer)

    - by vikramtheone
    Hi Guys, yesterday I had posted a question: How should I pass a pointer to a function and allocate memory for the passed pointer from inside the called function? From the answers I got, I was able to understand what mistake I was doing. I'm facing a new problem now, can anyone help out with this? I want to dynamically allocate a 2D array, so I'm passing a Pointer-to-Pointer from my main() to another function called alloc_2D_pixels(...), where I use malloc(...) and for(...) loop to allocate memory for the 2D array. Well, after returning from the alloc_2D_pixels(...) function, the pointer-to-pointer still remains NULL, so naturally, when I try accessing or try to free(...) the Pointer-to-Pointer, the program hangs. Can anyone suggest me what mistakes I'm doing here? Help!!! Vikram SOURCE: main() { unsigned char **ptr; unsigned int rows, cols; if(alloc_2D_pixels(&ptr, rows, cols)==ERROR) // Satisfies this condition printf("Memory for the 2D array not allocated"); // NO ERROR is returned if(ptr == NULL) // ptr is NULL so no memory was allocated printf("Yes its NULL!"); // Because ptr is NULL, with any of these 3 statements below the program HANGS ptr[0][0] = 10; printf("Element: %d",ptr[0][0]); free_2D_alloc(&ptr); } signed char alloc_2D_pixels(unsigned char ***memory, unsigned int rows, unsigned int cols) { signed char status = NO_ERROR; memory = malloc(rows * sizeof(unsigned char** )); if(memory == NULL) { status = ERROR; printf("ERROR: Memory allocation failed!"); } else { int i; for(i = 0; i< cols; i++) { memory[i] = malloc(cols * sizeof(unsigned char)); if(memory[i]==NULL) { status = ERROR; printf("ERROR: Memory allocation failed!"); } } } // Inserted the statements below for debug purpose only memory[0][0] = (unsigned char)10; // I'm able to access the array from printf("\nElement %d",memory[0][0]); // here with no problems return status; } void free_2D_pixels(unsigned char ***ptr, unsigned int rows) { int i; for(i = 0; i < rows; i++) { free(ptr[i]); } free(ptr); }

  • InternalsVisibleTo attribute ain't workin'!

    - by skb
    I am trying to use the InternalsVisibleTo assembly attribute to make my internal classes in a .NET class library visible to my unit test project. For some reason, I keep getting an error message that says: 'MyClassName' is inaccessible due to its protection level Both assemblies are signed and I have the correct key listed in the attribute declaration. Any ideas?
