    I just successfully upgraded from 10.04 to 12.04, and these instructions appear to be exactly what I want. However, for the life of me, I cannot find Thunderbird's tools menu to import my Evolution email. I am using Thunderbird installed as part of the 12.04 upgrade, and the Thunderbird global menu package is installed. I checked. I cannot find how to indicate what version Thunderbird is other than it was installed as part of 12.04. Thanks.

    I'm installing ubuntu 12.04 on my asus A43S notebook, but couldn't see any other partition under the 'Go' menu. I tried 'sudo fdisk -l' seems fine, it displays all partition. I also installed ubuntu 12.04 on my PC but there were no problems, all partition are listed under the 'Go' menu, and automaticly mounted when I clicked on them. question is, how to display all partition just like on my PC does, I don't want to mount via terminal each time I need to access them. thanks.

    Running win7 as guest in full screen mode. When i press windows key or alt+tab the vm looses focus and displays the unity menu or ubuntu's alt+tab. I've set the VBox configuration: File Menu - Input - Auto Capture Keyboard but it looks like some times it captures it and some times it doesn't Do you know how to run win7 in fullscreen and have all windows key or alt+tab strokes captured by the win7vm only?

    I have a WordPress site which uses WordPress HTTPS to enable SSL when users access it via that protocol. However, currently the menu links point back to the HTTP version. I want users to be linked to HTTPS pages while accessing the site over HTTPS, but not when accessing it over HTTP. Is this possible? Note: I have tried changing the menu options to use // and / for the links, but in both cases they are just rendered as HTTP links.

    I created a LiveUSB of Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS using Pendrive Linux. -Created a separate 30GB partition using Windows 8 Disk Management -Disabled Secure Boot (Didn't find an option to disable EFI boot) -Disabled Fast Startup The laptop starts the GRUB menu shows up but it doesn't go beyond that no matter what option i choose. After choosing any option the screen goes blank but the power is still on i can see the power light.   • Cant get to install menu, liveCD

    When I tried to run the Ubuntu install disc i get a purple screen with some little images down the bottom, then a flashing cursor for a second and then the screen goes black like there is no in I have tried changing BIOS settings that supposedly interfere, different disk drives and trying to access the advanced menu all to no avail! All the answers for black screens require you to be able to get the menu which i cant! Help would be much appreciated!

    I'm working on an intellisense or code-completion capability for C#. So far, so good. Right now I have basic completion working. There are 2 ways to request completion. The first cycles through all the potential matches. The second presents a popup menu of the matches. It works for types: And also for local variables: I'm confronting two problems with x-popup-menu: the popup menu can expand to consume all available screen space, when the number of choices is large. Literally it can obscure the entire screen. The silly thing is, it's scrollable. First it expands to consume all available space, then it also becomes scrollable. Is there a way I can limit the maximum size of x-popup-menu? To specify the position of the popup menu, I pass in a position, and x-popup-menu uses that as the *middle*, not the left, of the top line of the menu. Why middle? who knows. What this means is, if I specify (40 . 60) for the location of the menu, and the menu happens to be 100 pixels wide, the menu will extend beyond the left border of the emacs window. You can see this in the 2nd image above. If I knew how wide the popup would be before specifying the position, I could compensate. But I don't. Is there a workaround? Is there a way to get x-popup-menu to take its position as the LEFT rather than the middle.

    I would expect something like this to be pretty popular in demand but I had much trouble finding a suiting script. I've got a basic menu build like this: <div id="menu"> <ul> <li><a href="#"><img src="images/btn1.png"></a></li> <li><a href="#"><img src="images/btn2.png"></a></li> <li><a href="#"><img src="images/btn3.png"></a></li> </ul> </div> The div #menu has a background image of a small arrow. I want the arrow to move vertically in front of the corresponding menu image when you mouseover/mousemove the whole #menu div. Also when one of the menu images has been clicked the arrow should stay in it's position in front of the corresponding menu image. I started something but I notice it's going downwards, since it's only working when you're at the top of the page. I'm redesigning my WordPress site (it's going to be responsive), and as part of the redesign, I was debating incorporating some sort of descriptive menu setup. For example, normal navigation drop down menus come in the form of unordered lists of links like so: <nav> <ul> <li> <a href="#">Link1</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">Link2</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">Link3</a> <ul> <li> <a href="#">Sub Link1</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">Sub Link2</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">Sub Link3</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="#">Link4</a> </li> </ul> </nav> What I'm looking to do is build my drop down menus with more information than your standard menu. For example, I have a top level link named "Team", and under that link, I want to make a large drop down that contains head shots, headers (in the form of styled p tags) and brief (<100 words) descriptions of each team member (only 2 currently). I want to accompany this with a "Read More" link that takes you to their actual team page. This is just one example, of course, and the other top level links would also have descriptive drop downs in the same fashion. On mobile, I was planning on hiding the "mega menu", and delivering a standard unordered list of links. I'm currently hovering the "Team" menu, but you can't see because my mouse went away when I took the screenshot. EDIT 2: This question is not a duplicate. Example: I want to create new context name which can be extendable to put inside more programs. That is like "New" or "View" that show as more options after using it. Here is what i tried (and is working when you want to put one program to desktop): I created in registry "New Folder" with name of some programs (i.e. "notepad") inside of this location HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\ Inside of new created folder ("notepad") i put one more time "New Folder" and name it "command" (must be same name) Inside of "command" at string ("Default") put the location through notepad ("C:\Windows\system32\notepad.exe") - and now when you click right mouse button on desktop will see new context text with name "notepad" what will of course open notepad if you use them Well what i'm searching for is to find solution of how to make context name which will offer as to use more that one programs, do you have any solution?     In OSX, is it possible to navigate the menu bar without using the mouse (such as the arrow keys)? I'm looking for something similar to how Windows does this – pressing Alt allows the arrow keys to navigate the menu bar, pressing Enter invokes the menu item. This is more ergonomic as my hands don't have to leave the keyboard to invoke menu items. I'm aware of the various keyboard shortcuts, but unfortunately not all menu items have them. Followup: I discovered Full Keyboard Access which solves half the problem. With Full Keyboard Access set to All Controls, is there a key that activates the menu bar?

  • On Windows 7, how can I make the Start Menu search feature include matches from within words, not just the start of the word?

    I have a program installed called WinSCP. When I press the Windows key and type "SCP", I get "No items match your search." Is there a configuration option I can set somewhere, so that this item will be found? I'm not looking for a specific solution for this particular program, but something general, so that if there's a program named XYZ, I can find it via the Start Menu search by entering YZ. EDIT TO ADD: I'm looking for a "set-it and forget-it" type of configuration change, so that within-word searching happens always, automatically. I don't want to have to type a * before every query. Apparently this wasn't clear from what I wrote above.

    I installed Visual Studio 2012 yesterday and during the install my path somehow got screwed up1. Since then, the icons for applications that are part of Windows are the default "unknown" icon, but other icons are fine. The applications that the shortcuts link to launch fine when the icons are clicked on. Taskbar: Start Menu: I have fixed my path, but the icons still show incorrectly. Any ideas on how to flush what appears to be a set of cached icons? 1 Something took a path of A;B;C;D; and turned it into A;B;C;D;A;B;C;D;E;F; - duplicating a large part of it to that point that no more characters were available to type in the edit box in system properties. This had the side-effect of Windows reporting that it couldn't find %windir%.

    OK I know I can right click on it and select properties... But it only allows me to decide whether an item is shown or hidden. What I want is, adjust item position on the start menu right side. More specifically, I want to put the item "games" in the same group where personal folders are. It makes perfectly no sense to put "games" with "computer" and "network" in same group. Or is there a registry tweak can make this possible? Thanks.
