  • PowerShell PSCX Read-Archive: Cannot bind parameter... problem

    I'm running across a problem I can't seem to wrap my head around using the Read-Archive cmdlet available via PowerShell Community Extensions (v2.0.3782.38614). Here is a cut down sample used to exhibit the problem I'm running into: $mainPath = "p:\temp" $dest = Join-Path $mainPath "ps\CenCodes.zip" Read-Archive -Path $dest -Format zip Running the above produces the following error: Read-Archive : Cannot bind parameter 'Path'. Cannot convert the "p:\temp\ps\CenCodes.zip" value of type "System.String" to type "Pscx.IO.PscxPathInfo". At line:3 char:19 + Read-Archive -Path <<<< $dest -Format zip + CategoryInfo : InvalidArgument: (:) [Read-Archive], ParameterBindingException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : CannotConvertArgumentNoMessage,Pscx.Commands.IO.Compression.ReadArchiveCommand If I do not use Join-Path to build the path passed to Read-Archive it works, as in this example: $mainPath = "p:\temp" $path = $mainPath + "\ps\CenCodes.zip" Read-Archive -Path $path -Format zip Output from above: ZIP Folder: CenCodes.zip#\ Index LastWriteTime Size Ratio Name ----- ------------- ---- ----- ---- 0 6/17/2010 2:03 AM 3009106 24.53 % CenCodes.xls Even more confusing is if I compare the two variables passed as the Path argument in the two Read-Archive samples above, they seem identical: This...     I need to write a batch file to unzip files to their current folder from a given root folder. Folder 0 |----- Folder 1 | |----- File1.zip | |----- File2.zip | |----- File3.zip | |----- Folder 2 | |----- File4.zip | |----- Folder 3 |----- File5.zip |----- FileN.zip So, I wish that my batch file is launched like so: ocd.bat /d="Folder 0" Then, make it iterate from within the batch file through all of the subfolders to unzip the files exactly where the .zip files are located. So here's my question: Does the Windows (from XP at least) have a command line for its embedded zip tool? Otherwise, shall I stick to another third-party util?

    As the title says, how can I recursively copy a directory structure but only include some files. E.g given the following directory structure: folder1 folder2 folder3 data.zip info.txt abc.xyz folder4 folder5 data.zip somefile.exe someotherfile.dll The files data.zip and info.txt can appear everywhere in the directory structure. How can I copy the full directory structure, but only include files named data.zip and info.txt (all other files should be ignored)? The resulting directory structure should look like this: copy_of_folder1 folder2 folder3 data.zip info.txt folder4 folder5 data.zip

  • Install Python 2.6 without using installer on Win32

    I need to run a python script on a machine that doesn't have python installed. What I did was as follows. Copy python.exe, python26.dll, msvcr90.dll and Microsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest zip all the directory in LIBs directory as the python26.zip copy all the necessary dll/pyd file inside the DLL directory. It seems to work, but when I change the python26.zip to the other name such as pythonlib.zip. It cannot find the python library anymore. Q1 : What's the magic behind the python26.zip name? The python automatically finds a library inside a python26.zip but not with different name? Q2 : If I have python26.zip at the same directory where python.exe/python26.dll is, I don't need to add path sys.path.append(THE PATH TO python26.zip). Is it correct?

    I get the error "Not implemented". I want to compress a file using 7-Zip via stdin then take the data via stdout and do more conversions with my application.   • With Maven2, how would I zip a directory in my resources?

    I'm trying to upgrade my project from using Maven 1 to Maven 2, but I'm having a problem with one of the goals. I have the following Maven 1 goal in my maven.xml file: <goal name="jar:init"> <ant:delete file="${basedir}/src/installpack.zip"/> <ant:zip destfile="${basedir}/src/installpack.zip" basedir="${basedir}/src/installpack" /> <copy todir="${destination.location}"> <fileset dir="${source.location}"> <exclude name="installpack/**"/> </fileset> </copy> </goal> I'm unable to find a way to do this in Maven2, however. Right now, the installpack directory is in the resources directory of my standard Maven2 directory structure, which works well since it just gets copied over. I need it to be zipped though. I found this page on creating ant plugins: http://maven.apache.org/guides/plugin/guide-ant-plugin-development.html. It looks like I could create my own ant plugin to do what I need. I was just wondering if there was a way to do it using only Maven2. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, B.J.

If someone could give tips or even example code on how for example an image file could be extracted from ZIP file (to be shown in Qt GUI later on*), I would highly appreciate that. My main goal at the moment is to write a program with GUI for selecting archive files containing image files (PNG, JPG etc) and displaying those files one at a time in the GUI.     I'm working on a python program for homework and the problem asks me to develop a program that encrypts a message using a caesar cipher. I need to be able to have the user input a number to shift the encryption by, such as 4: e.g. 'A' to 'E'. The user also needs to input the string to be translated. The book says to use a zip() to do the problem. I am confused on how I would do this though.     Hi, I am migrating from Windows to OS X and looking for a good way to browse zip, rar etc. archives. Ideally, I need a plugin for Finder which will allow me to open archives as folders. Is there one, or any other suitable solution? Preferably free Update As I understand, most of Mac users are using Path Finder app for file management. It is an awesome program, however surprisingly it also doesn't have such functionality. I guess, the problem is in the way of thinking – my Windows-thinking is not applicable to Mac.   • how do I install an add on from zip in xbmc 12?

    http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-ons#How_to_install_from_zip The wiki is pretty straighforward but those options are not present when I follow the steps in the wiki. I select this: System -- Settings -- AddOns All I see is a list of add ons like Youtube and Railscasts. There's no option for installing from a zip file like the wiki says. Pressing ".." just takes me to the list of AddOn types like "Album Information" and "Artist Information" etc. The wiki looks to be out of date.

And, after researching a bit in the internets, I also tried the following, with no luck: G:\>del \\?\G:\Z_DRIVE\workspaces\google-gson-1.7.1-release.zip The system cannot find the file specified. Other than booting from some Linux CD, is there a way to get rid of this file? This topic assumes you have an understanding of how generics, delegates, implicitly typed variables, lambda expressions, object/collection initializers, extension methods and the yield statement work. Projection Now lets enumerate on the items in the IEnumerable<Employee> we got from the Where method and copy them into a new IEnumerable<EmployeeFormatted>. The EmployeeFormatted class will only have a FullName and ID property. 1: public class EmployeeFormatted { 2: public int ID { get; set; } 3: public string FullName {get; set;} 4: } We could “project” our existing IEnumerable<Employee> into a new collection of IEnumerable<EmployeeFormatted> with the help of a new method. If the task is taking too long, ExtractionThread.interrupt(); is called to cancel the operation. I can see in my logs that the cancellation happened 25 times. And I see 21 of these threads in my dump. My questions: What is the status of these threads? Alive and running? Blocked somehow? They did not die with .interrupt() apparently? Is there a sure way to really kill a thread? What does really mean 'locked ' in the stack trace?     I've tried to simplify for the purposes of asking this question. Hopefully, this will be comprehensible. Basically, I have a fact table with a time dimension, another dimension, and a hierarchical dimension. For the purposes of the question, let's assume the hierarchical dimension is zip code and state. The other dimension is just descriptive. Let's call it 'customer' Let's assume there are 50 customers. I need to find the set of states for which there is at least one zip code in which EVERY customer has at least one fact row for each day in the time dimension. If a zip code has only 49 customers, I don't care about it. If even one of the 50 customers doesn't have a value for even 1 day in a zip code, I don't care about it. Finally, I also need to know which zip codes qualified the state for selection. Note, there is no requirement that every zip code have a full data set - only that at least one zip code does. I don't mind making multiple queries and doing some processing on the client side. This is a dataset that only needs to be generated once per day and can be cached. I don't even see a particularly clean way to do it with multiple queries short of simply brute-force iteration, and there are a heck of a lot of 'zip codes' in the data set (not actually zip codes, but the there are approximately 100,000 entries in the lower level of the hierarchy and several hundred in the top level, so zipcode-state is a reasonable analogy)

    Hi, I'm trying to upload an iPhone app binary to iTunesConnect and keep getting the following error message "The binary you upload was invalid. the file was not a valid zip file". I had an app upload ok recently but this app is having problems. So after a while I carefully went through the following steps trying to make sure everything was ok. Any help is appreciated. The steps: renamed the project (Project-Rename... enter name into Rename project to:) to release name making sure the name has no spaces. Cleaned project Make sure references in build setting reflect new app name Create new app ID matching project name in iPhone Provisioning Portal Destroyed old developer and distributer provisioning profiles in Provisioning Portal, in XCode and on iPhone. Create new development provisioning profile using new app name. Install development provisioning profile into XCode 8) Build (Release) for iPhone OS 3.1.3 (highest my phone will upgrade to, I'm assuming current released version) Builds, Installs and Runs on actual iPhone: To me this implys App and developer ID's are OK. Create a distributor provisioning profile using existing Distributer ID.
