  • How do I use JQuery to do this? (Loop through the classes)

    - by alex
    Suppose my code is like this: <td class="apple"> <div class="worm"> text1 </div> </td> <td class="apple"> <div class="worm"> text2 </div> </td> <td class="apple"> <div class="worm"> text3 </div> </td> How can I loop through everything with "tr class apple", and then grab the text of the div inside with id "worm", and then set each of the .attr() as that text? Result: <td class="apple" title="text1"> <div class="worm"> text1 </div> </td> <td class="apple" title="text2" > <div class="worm"> text2 </div> </td> <td class="apple" title="text3"> <div class="worm"> text3 </div> </td> Thank you

  • 12.10 update breaks NFS mount

    - by TarekEldeeb
I've just upgraded to the latest 12.10 beta. Rebooted twice. • Problem with script substitution when running script

    - by tucaz
Hi! I'm new to Linux so this probably should be an easy fix, but I cannot see it. I have a script downloaded from official sources that is used to install additional tools for fsharp but it gives me a syntax error when running it. I tried to replace ( and ) by { and } but eventually it lead me to another error so I think this is not the problem since the script works for everybody. I read some articles that say that my bash version maybe is not the right one. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and here is the error: install-bonus.sh: 28: Syntax error: "(" unexpected (expecting "}") And this is line 27, 28 and 29: { declare -a DIRS=("${!3}") FILE=$2 And the full script: #! /bin/sh -e PREFIX=/usr BIN=$PREFIX/bin MAN=$PREFIX/share/man/man1/ die() { echo "$1" &2 echo "Installation aborted." &2 exit 1 } echo "This script will install additional material for F# including" echo "man pages, fsharpc and fsharpi scripts and Gtk# support for F#" echo "Interactive (root access needed)" echo "" # ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ # Utility function that searches specified directories for a specified file # and if the file is not found, it asks user to provide a directory RESULT="" searchpaths() { declare -a DIRS=("${!3}") FILE=$2 DIR=${DIRS[0]} for TRYDIR in ${DIRS[@]} do if [ -f $TRYDIR/$FILE ] then DIR=$TRYDIR fi done while [ ! -f $DIR/$FILE ] do echo "File '$FILE' was not found in any of ${DIRS[@]}. • gcc 4.5 installation problem under ubuntu

    - by Claire Huang
I tried to install gcc 4.5 on ubuntu 10.04 but failed. Here is a compile error that I don't know how to solve. Is there anyone successfully install the latest gcc on ubuntu? Following is my steps and the error message, I'd like to know where is the problem.... Step1: download these files: gcc-core-4.5.0.tar.gz gcc-g++-4.5.0.tar.gz gmp-4.3.2.tar.bz2 mpc-0.8.1.tar.gz mpfr-2.4.2.tar.gz Step2: Unzip above files Step3: move gmp, mpc, mpfr to the gcc-4.5.0/ directory. mv gmp-4.3.2 gcc-4.5.0/gmp mv mpc-0.8.1 gcc-4.5.0/mpc mv mpfr-2.4.2 gcc-4.5.0/mpfr Step4: go to gcc-4.5.0 directory and do configuration: sudo ./configure Step5: compile and install sudo make sudo make install The first 4 steps is OK, I can configure it successfully. However, when I try to compile it, following error message comes out, I cannot figure out what the problem is. Should I change the name from "gcc 4.5" to "gcc"?? It's a little strange that we need to do this by ourself. Is there anything I missed during the installation? xxx@xxx-laptop:/media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc 4.5/gcc-4.5.0$ sudo make [sudo] password for xxx: [ -f stage_final ] || echo stage3 > stage_final /bin/bash: line 2: test: /media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc: binary operator expected /bin/bash: /media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc: No such file or directory make[1]: Entering directory `/media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc 4.5/gcc-4.5.0' make[2]: Entering directory `/media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc 4.5/gcc-4.5.0' make[3]: Entering directory `/media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc 4.5/gcc-4.5.0' rm -f stage_current make[3]: Leaving directory `/media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc 4.5/gcc-4.5.0' make[2]: Leaving directory `/media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc 4.5/gcc-4.5.0' make[2]: Entering directory `/media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc 4.5/gcc-4.5.0' Configuring stage 1 in host-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/intl /bin/bash: /media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc: No such file or directory make[2]: *** [configure-stage1-intl] Error 127 make[2]: Leaving directory `/media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc 4.5/gcc-4.5.0' make[1]: *** [stage1-bubble] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/media/Data/Tool/linux/gcc 4.5/gcc-4.5.0' make: *** [all] Error 2

  • QtOpenCl make errors. Please help.

    - by Skkard
So I downloaded the ATI Stream SDK. I don't have a gpu now so I use the '-device cpu' and got the programs/examples in the OpenCl directory working by adding the directory to LD_LIBRARY_PATH etc. Now the problem is when installing QtOpenCl. configure script gives me: skkard@skkard-desktop:~/Applications/qt-labs-opencl$ ./configure This is the QtOpenCL configuration utility. Qt version ............. 4.6.2 qmake .................. /usr/bin/qmake OpenCL ................. yes OpenCL/OpenGL interop .. yes Extra QMAKE_CXXFLAGS ... Extra INCLUDEPATH ...... Extra LIBS ............. -lOpenCL QtOpenCL has been configured. Run '/usr/bin/make' to build. Make gives me: skkard@skkard-desktop:~/Applications/qt-labs-opencl$ make cd src/ && make -f Makefile make[1]: Entering directory `/home/skkard/Applications/qt-labs-opencl/src' cd opencl/ && make -f • Parallel. For System.OutOfMemoryException

    - by Martin Neal
    We have a fairly simple program that's used for creating backups. I'm attempting to parallelize it but am getting an OutofMemoryException within an AggregateExcption. Some of the source folders are quite large, and the program doesn't crash for about 40 minutes after it starts. I don't know where to start looking so the below code is a near exact dump of all code the code sans directory structure and Exception logging code. Any advise as to where to start looking? using System; using System.Diagnostics; using System.IO; using System.Threading.Tasks; namespace SelfBackup { class Program { static readonly string[] saSrc = { "\\src\\dir1\\", //... "\\src\\dirN\\", //this folder is over 6 GB }; static readonly string[] saDest = { "\\dest\\dir1\\", //... Instead, the best solution is probably to throw back up to the original caller of copy directory an move on to the next Src/Dst pair by not catching any possible exception here.*/ File.Copy(file, //src Path.Combine(Dst, Path.GetFileName(file)), //dest true);//bool overwrite }); //Call this function again for every directory in the folder. Parallel.ForEach(Directory.GetDirectories(Src), dir => { copyDirectory(dir, Path.Combine(Dst, Path.GetFileName(dir))); }); } }

  • Why is numpy's einsum faster than numpy's built in functions?

    - by Ophion
Lets start with three arrays of dtype=np.double. Timings are performed on a intel CPU using numpy 1.7.1 compiled with icc and linked to intel's mkl. A AMD cpu with numpy 1.6.1 compiled with gcc without mkl was also used to verify the timings. Please note the timings scale nearly linearly with system size and are not due to the small overhead incurred in the numpy functions if statements these difference will show up in microseconds not milliseconds: arr_1D=np.arange(500,dtype=np.double) large_arr_1D=np.arange(100000,dtype=np.double) arr_2D=np.arange(500**2,dtype=np.double).reshape(500,500) arr_3D=np.arange(500**3,dtype=np.double).reshape(500,500,500) First lets look at the np.sum function: np.all(np.sum(arr_3D)==np.einsum('ijk->',arr_3D)) True %timeit np.sum(arr_3D) 10 loops, best of 3: 142 ms per loop %timeit np.einsum('ijk->', arr_3D) 10 loops, best of 3: 70.2 ms per loop Powers: np.allclose(arr_3D*arr_3D*arr_3D,np.einsum('ijk,ijk,ijk->ijk',arr_3D,arr_3D,arr_3D)) True %timeit arr_3D*arr_3D*arr_3D 1 loops, best of 3: 1.32 s per loop %timeit np.einsum('ijk,ijk,ijk->ijk', arr_3D, arr_3D, arr_3D) 1 loops, best of 3: 694 ms per loop Outer product: np.all(np.outer(arr_1D,arr_1D)==np.einsum('i,k->ik',arr_1D,arr_1D)) True %timeit np.outer(arr_1D, arr_1D) 1000 loops, best of 3: 411 us per loop %timeit np.einsum('i,k->ik', arr_1D, arr_1D) 1000 loops, best of 3: 245 us per loop All of the above are twice as fast with np.einsum. These should be apples to apples comparisons as everything is specifically of dtype=np.double. I would expect the speed up in an operation like this: np.allclose(np.sum(arr_2D*arr_3D),np.einsum('ij,oij->',arr_2D,arr_3D)) True %timeit np.sum(arr_2D*arr_3D) 1 loops, best of 3: 813 ms per loop %timeit np.einsum('ij,oij->', arr_2D, arr_3D) 10 loops, best of 3: 85.1 ms per loop Einsum seems to be at least twice as fast for np.inner, np.outer, np.kron, and np.sum regardless of axes selection. The primary exception being np.dot as it calls DGEMM from a BLAS library. So why is np.einsum faster that other numpy functions that are equivalent? The DGEMM case for completeness: np.allclose(np.dot(arr_2D,arr_2D),np.einsum('ij,jk',arr_2D,arr_2D)) True %timeit np.einsum('ij,jk',arr_2D,arr_2D) 10 loops, best of 3: 56.1 ms per loop %timeit np.dot(arr_2D,arr_2D) 100 loops, best of 3: 5.17 ms per loop The leading theory is from @sebergs comment that np.einsum can make use of SSE2, but numpy's ufuncs will not until numpy 1.8 (see the change log). I believe this is the correct answer, but have not been able to confirm it. Some limited proof can be found by changing the dtype of input array and observing speed difference and the fact that not everyone observes the same trends in timings.

  • iPhone SDK: How do you download video files to the Document Directory and then play them?

    - by Jessica
I've been fooling around with code for ages on this one, I would be very grateful if someone could provide a code sample that downloaded this file from a server http://www.archive.org/download/june_high/june_high_512kb.mp4, (By the way it's not actually this file, it's just a perfect example for anyone trying to help me) and then play it from the documents directory. I know it seems lazy of me to ask this but I have tried so many different variations of NSURLConnection that it's driving me crazy. Also, if I did manage to get the video file downloaded would I be correct in assuming this code would then successfully play it: NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *path = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"june_high_512kb.mp4"]; NSURL *movieURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:path]; self.theMovie = [[MPMoviePlayerController alloc] initWithContentURL:movieURL]; [_theMovie play]; If the above code would work in playing a video file from the document directory, then I guess the only thing I would need to know is, how to download a video file from a server. Which is what seems to be my major problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • ASP.NET MVC on Cassini: How can I force the "content" directory to return 304s instead of 200s?

    - by Portman
Scenario: I have an ASP.NET MVC application developed in Visual Studio 2008. There is a root folder named "Content" that stores images and stylesheets. When I run locally (using Cassini) and browse my application, every resource from the "Content" directory is always downloaded. Using Firebug, I can verify that the web server returns an HTTP 200 ("ok"). Desired: I would like for Cassini to return HTTP 304 ("not modified") instead of 200. This is the behavior when running the site under IIS7. Reasoning: The site I am working on has a large number of static resources (often as many as 40 per page). Browsing the site is very fast on IIS7, because these resources are (correctly) cached by the browser. However, browsing the site on my local machine is painfully slow. Pages that render in under 1 second on IIS7 take over 30 seconds to render on Cassini. It's actually faster for me to upload the entire website every few minutes and test from there. (Yes, I recognize that this is perverse and crazy.) So: how can I instruct/trick Cassini into treating the "Content" directory like IIS7 does?

  • How can I set an absolute path for include function in php above the working directory?

I am running a script from /wp-content/themes/currenttheme/chat.php I want to include in the above php another one located in /forum/chat/index.php The index.php includes its own files I already tried `$root = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']; include($root."/forum/chat/index.php");` but I get this error `Warning: require(D:/My Dropbox/xampp/htdocs/lib/custom.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\My Dropbox\xampp\htdocs\forum\chat\index.php on line 17 Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'D:/My Dropbox/xampp/htdocs/lib/custom.php' (include_path='.;\My Dropbox\xampp\php\PEAR') in D:\My Dropbox\xampp\htdocs\forum\chat\index.php on line 17` (the index.php also includes some files, but the /forum is ommited somehow in the path) then I tried `$path = getcwd(); $myfile = "/forum/chat/index.php"; include ($path.$myfile);` and got this error: `Warning: include(D:\My Dropbox\xampp\htdocs\forum/forum/chat/index.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\My Dropbox\xampp\htdocs\wp-content\themes\currenttheme\chat.php on line 24 Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening 'D:\My Dropbox\xampp\htdocs\forum/forum/chat/index.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;\My Dropbox\xampp\php\PEAR') in D:\My Dropbox\xampp\htdocs\wp-content\themes\currenttheme\chat.php on line 24`

  • Wordpress .htaccess preventing subfolder access

    - by John K.
This is sort of a goofy setup, but it's not in my power to reconfigure it at this time. I'm running in a shared hosting environment. The domain is example.com. This is an add-on domain on the host side with example.com being redirected to the www/example.com sub-directory. That directory houses a standard Wordpress site which acts as the main site when you visit example.com. The .htaccess file within that directory is: # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^wp-admin/profile\.php$ /ssm/welcome [R] </IfModule> I have a subdirectory, at the root level with the /example.com subdirectory that houses a cake php application. That subdirectory is /tracker. My problem is that when I attempt to browse to example.com/tracker, I get a 404 from Wordpress because perma links are on. What I think I need is a rewrite rule in the Wordpress .htaccess file that short circuits the existing rewrite rules and permits example.com/tracker to work independently of the Wordpress install. Or a rewrite rule at the root level that short circuits the redirect to the /example.com directory in the first place. Not sure how well I explained that so here's a summary. The www/ directory structure: example.com/ tracker/ Add on domain of www.example.com redirecting to the /example.com directory with Wordpress and a tracker/ directory running CakePHP which I would like to access via www.example.com/tracker. If you need further info or clarification let me know!

  • Pascal's repeat... until vs. C's do... while

    - by Bob
In C there is a do while loop and pascal's (almost) equivalent is the repeat until loop, but there is a small difference between the two, while both structures will iterate at least once and check whether they need to do the loop again only in the end, in pascal you write the condition that need to met to terminate the loop (REPEAT UNTIL something) in C you write the condition that need to be met to continue the loop (DO WHILE something). Is there a reason why there is this difference or is it just an arbitrary decision?

  • Linux - File was deleted and then reappeared when folder was zipped

    - by davee9
Hello, I am using Backtrack 4 Final, which is a Linux distro that is Ubuntu based. I had a directory that contained around 5 files. I deleted one of the files, which sent it to the trash. I then zipped the directory up (now containing 4 files), using this command: zip -r directory.zip directory/ When I then unzipped directory.zip, the file I deleted was in there again. I couldn't believe this, so I zipped up the directory again, and the file reappeared again but this time could not be opened because the operating system said it didn't exist or something. I don't remember the exact error, and I cannot make this happen again. Would anyone happen to know why a file that was deleted from a directory would reappear in that directory after it was zipped up? Thank you.

  • Two collections and a for loop. (Urgent help needed) Checking an object variable against an inputted

    - by Elliott
Hi there, I'm relatively new to java, I'm certain the error is trivial. But can't for the life of me spot it. I have an end of term exam on monday and currently trying to get to grips with past papers! Anyway heregoes, in another method (ALGO_1) I search over elements of and check the value H_NAME equals a value entered in the main. When I attempt to run the code I get a null pointer exception, also upon trying to print (with System.out.println etc) the H_NAME value after each for loop in the snippet I also get a null statement returned to me. I am fairly certain that the collection is simply not storing the data gathered up by the Scanner. But then again when I check the collection size with size() it is about the right size. Either way I'm pretty lost and would appreciate the help. Main questions I guess to ask are: from the readBackground method is the data.add in the wrong place? is the snippet simply structured wrongly? oh and another point when I use System.out.println to check the Background object values name, starttime, increment etc they print out fine. Thanks in advance.(PS im guessing the formatting is terrible, apologies.) snippet of code: for(Hydro hd: hydros){ System.out.println(hd.H_NAME); for(Background back : backgs){ System.out.println(back.H_NAME); if(back.H_NAME.equals(hydroName)){ //get error here public static Collection<Background> readBackground(String url) throws IOException { URL u = new URL(url); InputStream is = u.openStream(); InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(is); BufferedReader b = new BufferedReader(isr); String line =""; Vector<Background> data = new Vector<Background>(); while((line = b.readLine())!= null){ Scanner s = new Scanner(line); String name = s.next(); double starttime = Double.parseDouble(s.next()); double increment = Double.parseDouble(s.next()); double sum = 0; double p = 0; double nterms = 0; while((s.hasNextDouble())){ p = Double.parseDouble(s.next()); nterms++; sum += p; } double pbmean = sum/nterms; Background SAMP = new Background(name, starttime, increment, pbmean); data.add(SAMP); } return data; } Edit/Delete Message

  • What is the best way to reduce code and loop through a hierarchial commission script?

    - by JM4
I have a script which currently "works" but is nearly 3600 lines of code and makes well over 50 database calls within a single script. From my experience, there is no way to really "loop" the script and minimize it because each call to the database is a subquery of the ones before based on referral ids. Perhaps I can give a very simple example of what I am trying to accomplish and see if anybody has experience with something similar. In my example, there are three tables: Table 1 - Sellers ID | Comm_level | Parent ----------------------------------- 1 | 4 | NULL 2 | 3 | 1 3 | 2 | 1 4 | 2 | 2 5 | 2 | 2 6 | 1 | 3 Where ID is the id of one of our sales agents, comm_level will determine what his commission percentage is for each product he sells, parent indicates the ID for whom recruited that particular agent. In the example above, 1 is the top agent, he recruited two agents, 2 and 3. 2 recruited two agents, 4 and 5. 3 recruited one agent, 6. NOTE: An agent can NEVER recruit anybody equal to or higher than their own level. Table 2 - Commissions Level | Item 1 | Item 2 | Item 3 ----------------------------------------------------- 4 | .5 | .4 | .3 3 | .45 | .35 | .25 2 | .4 | .3 | .2 1 | .35 | .25 | .15 This table lays out the commission percentages for each agent based on their actual comm_level (if an agent is at a level 4, he will receive 50% on every item 1 sold, 40% on every item 2, 30% on every item 3 and so on. Table 3 - Items Sold ID | Item --------------------- 4 | item_1 4 | item_2 1 | item_1 2 | item_3 6 | item_2 1 | item_3 This table pairs the actual item sold with the seller who sold the item. When generating the commission report, calculating individual values is very simple. Calculating their commission based on their sub_sellers however is very difficult. In this example, Seller ID 1 gets a piece of every single item sold. The commission percentages indicate individual sales or the height of their commission. For example: When seller ID 6 sold one of item_2 above, the tree for commissions will look like the following: -ID 6 - 25% of cost(item_1) -ID 3 - 5% of cost(item_1) - (30% is his comm - 25% comm of seller id 6) -ID 1 - 10% of cost(item_1) - (40% is his comm - 30% of seller id 3) This must be calculated for every agent in the system from the top down (hence the DB calls within while loops throughout my enormous script). Anybody have a good suggestion or samples they may have used in the past?

  • How can I change the default startup directory for cmd.exe?

    - by Nano HE
Hi. My Procedure last day as below Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe Navigate to the following branch: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Command Processor In the right-pane, double-click Autorun and set the startup folder path as its data, preceded by “CD /d “. If Autorun value is missing, you need to create one, of type REG_EXPAND_SZ or REG_SZ in the above location. Example: To set the startup directory to D:\learning\perl, set the Autorun value data to CD /d D:\learning\perl Then I clicked Start, run and type cmd. It successfully. I could do perl practice more conveniently now. But today, I find when I try to build my Visual Studio 2005 solution which included some Pre-build event Command like this: perl.exe MyAppVersion.pl perl.exe AttrScan.pl It doesn't work. Show error: can't find the path. I check the environment variable setting and find the variable-path and it's value-c:\perl\bin\; still exist. Finially, I try to removed the Regedit.exe configuration "Autorun" value and test again. The issue fixed. I only changed the default startup directory for cmd.exe command. Why the pre-build event perl command was impacted? (I am using winxp and activePerl 5.8)

  • Problem monitoring directory for file activity in VB.net 2010...

    - by Mike Cialowicz
I'm trying to write a simple program to monitor a folder for new files in VB.NET 2010, and am having some trouble. Here's a simplified version of what my program looks like: Imports System.IO Public Class Main Public fileWatcher As FileSystemWatcher Sub btnGo_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnGo.Click '//# initialize my FileSystemWatcher to monitor a particular directory for new files fileWatcher = New FileSystemWatcher() fileWatcher.Path = thisIsAValidPath.ToString() fileWatcher.NotifyFilter = NotifyFilters.FileName AddHandler fileWatcher.Created, AddressOf fileCreated fileWatcher.EnableRaisingEvents = True End Sub Private Sub fileCreated(sender As Object, e As FileSystemEventArgs) '//# program does not exit when I comment the line below out txtLatestAddedFilePath.Text = e.FullPath '//# e.FullPath is valid when I set a breakpoint here, but when I step into the next line, the program abruptly halts with no error code that I can see End Sub End Class As you can see, I have a button which will initialize a FileSystemWatcher when clicked. The initialization works, and when I place a new file in the monitored directory, the program reaches the fileCreated sub. I can even see that e.FullPath is set correctly. However, it exits abruptly right after that with no error code (none that I can see, anyways). If I comment everything in the fileCreated sub out, the program continues running as expected. Any ideas as to why it's dying on me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm fairly new to VS/VB.NET, so maybe I'm just making a silly mistake. Thanks!
