    I have an image uploader that uses the imgur.com API and jQuery's .ajax() function to upload images to their servers. However, if I browse for an image using the <input type="file"/> element of the form, it will only be successful in uploading an image if the image file is found in the same directory as the page.php file that the form is found in (shown below). All I want to do is take a list of variables (that I define) and run the same procedure for them: pseudo-code - not really a good example, but gets the point across... for i in varlist['a','b','c'] do FREQUENCIES VARIABLES=varlist[i] / ORDER=ANALYSIS. end I've noticed that people seem to just use R or Python SPSS plugins to achieve this basic array functionality, but I don't know how soon I can get those configured (if ever) on my installation of SPSS. SPSS has to have some native way to do this...right?

I believe the problem I have is related to returning false at the end of the loop, if no recursive returns a non-false value (which should be a valid assignment).

  • visual studio 2005 is deleting the .svn folder in the bin\Debug directory - how to prevent this?

    For some reason I need to check in a couple of files in the bin\Debug directory. For the past few weeks, I am noticing a strange behaviour from VS2005. Every time I recompile the code, it is deleting the .svn folder in the bin\Debug directory and hence svn is showing "obstructed" error. Even svn clean up doesn't help due to missing .svn folder. Is there any settings on VS2005 to prevent this? In the first place, why it is deleting .svn folder? This thread http://svn.haxx.se/tsvnusers/archive-2008-10/0019.shtml discuss about it but no useful solution to prevent this from happening. Any other suggestions?

    Hey all, After the unfortunate realization that Firefox is just not going to play nice with an embedded HTML5 video with my server set up, I've decided to go the JW Player route, since it's compatible with iPads and iPhones. I can get the file to show up on my page, but it's big and heavy. I would like for it to be just the video, no controls. Autoplay and on loop. Can you help me out?   • Is there a way in PHP to check if a directory is a symlink?

    The title says it all. I have symlinks to certain directories because the directories' names have non English characters that I got fed up trying to get apache's rewrite rules to match. There's a bounty on that question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2916194/trouble-with-utf-8-chars-apache2-rewrite-rulesif anyone wants to go for it, and from the looks of things a lot of people would like to see a general solution to this problem, but meanwhile I made a plain ascii symlink to each of these offending directories. Now the rewrite rules are back to just alpha and _ and - and my security concerns are less and it loads the resources I want. But I still need the actual target directory name for display purposes.     Let me first describe my situation, I am working on a Linux platform and have a collection of .bmp files that add one to the picture number from filename0022.bmp up to filename0680.bmp. So a total of 658 pictures. I want to be able to run each of these pictures through a .exe file that operates on the picture then kicks out the file to a file specified by the user, it also has some threshold arguments: lower, upper. So the typical call for the executable is: ./filter inputfile outputfile lower upper Is there a way that I can loop this call over all the files just from the terminal or by creating some kind of bash script? My problem is similar to this: Execute a command over multiple files with a batch file but this time I am working in a Linux command line terminal. Thank you for your help, Luke H

  • In a Maven project, what are reasons for either a nested or a flat directory layout?

    As my Maven project grows, I'm trying to stay on top of the project structure. So far, I have a nested directory layout with 2-3 levels, where there's a POM on each level with module entries corresponding to the directories at that level. POM inheritance (parent property) does not necessarily follow this, and is not relevant for the purpose of this question. Now, while the nested structure seems pretty natural to Maven, and it's nice and clean as long as you are on one particular level, I'm starting to get confused by what I look at in my IDE (Eclipse and IntelliJ IDEA). I had a look at the Apache Felix sources, and they have a pretty complex project in what seems to be a flat directory structure, so I'm wondering if this would be a better way to go. What are some pros and cons for either approach that you have experienced in practice? Note that this question (which I found meanwhile) seems to be very similar. I'll leave it to the community to decide whether this should be closed as a duplicate.

  • Can I get information about the IIS7 virtual directory from Application_Start?

    I have 3 IIS7 virtual directories which point to the same physical directory. Each one has a unique host headers bound to it and each one runs in its own app pool. Ultimately, 3 instances of the same ASP.NET application. In the Application_Start event handler of global.asax I would like to identify which instance of the application is running (to conditionally execute some code). Since the Request object is not available, I cannot interrogate the current URL so I would like to interrogate the binding information of the current virtual directory? Since the host header binding is unique for each site, it would allow me to identify which application instance is starting up. Does anyone know how to do this or have a better suggestion?

    When creating gems, I often have a directory structure like this: |--lib |-- helpers.rb `-- helpers |-- helper_a.rb `-- helper_b.rb Inside the helpers.rb, I'm just require-ing the files in the helpers directory. But I have to do things like this: $:.push(File.dirname(__FILE__) + '/helpers') require 'helper_a' require 'helper_b' Is there a way to make that one line so I never have to add to it? I just came up with this real quick: dir = File.join(File.dirname(__FILE__), "helpers") Dir.entries(dir)[2..-1].each { |file| require "#{dir}/#{file[0..-4]}" } But it's two lines and ugly. What's a slick one liner to solve this problem?

  • With Maven2, how would I specify a custom directory to which a dependency should be copied?

    Basically, I have a multi-module project consisting of 5 different modules. One of the modules is kind of the parent module to the other 4, meaning the other 4 need to be built before the 5th, so you could say that each of the 4 modules is a dependency of the 5th. Thus, I've made dependency entries for each of the modules in the 5th module's pom.xml. However, when I build the project, I don't want those 4 dependencies copied to the "lib" directory of the 5th module. I'd like to specify the directory into which each of them should be placed explicitly. Is there any way to do this with Maven2? Thanks for your help, B.J.

    In Visual Studio 2008 when you go to properties of a project (an ASP.NET MVC one at least) you have the option to run an external program. There are three parts for it: the path to the program, the command line options, the working directory. I need to pass the root of my web application as a command line argument. I don't want to hardcode the path in my machine in that directory. Is there some sort of (environment) variable I could use? Background: I'm trying to run UltiDev Cassini because VS' Cassini is 32bit only. I think this is the right way to run it, is it?

  • Why does File::Find finished short of completely traversing a large directory?

    A directory exists with a total of 2,153,425 items (according to Windows folder Properties). It contains .jpg and .gif image files located within a few subdirectories. The task was to move the images into a different location while querying each file's name to retrieve some relevant info and store it elsewhere. The script that used File::Find finished at 20462 files. Out of curiosity I wrote a tiny recursive function to count the items which returned a count of 1,734,802. I suppose the difference can be accounted for by the fact that it didn't count folders, only files that passed the -f test. The problem itself can be solved differently by querying for file names first instead of traversing the directory. I'm just wondering what could've caused File::Find to finish at a small fraction of all files. The data is stored on an NTFS file system.
