  • Sqlite3 and PDO problem with ORDER BY

    Hi, I try to use the SQL statement SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY column via an PDO-Object in PHP. Problem is, that I always get an error (Call to a member function fetchall() on a non-object - that means, the query did not return a PDO-object) when using the names of all columnname EXCEPT for ID. When I query SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY ID it works. ID is the PRIMARY INTEGER KEY, all other columns are TEXT or NUMERIC, neither of them would works with the ORDER BY clause. Any ideas?

    Im just wondering how i use xmlencoder to serialize ArrayList where foo is my own made class. Do i have to do anything in particular, ie define my own xml structure first and then call toString on each value in my list and write it out?     Hi: Is there any alternative to non-ISO gcc specific extension __attribute__ on 64-bit kernels ? Three types that i've noticed are: function attributes, type attributes and variable attributes. eg. i'd like to avoid using __attribute__((__packed__)) for structures passed over the network, even though some gcc based code do use it.   • activerecord search conditions - looking for null or false

    When doing a search in active record I'm looking for record's that do not have an archived bit set to true. Some of the archived bits are null (which are not archived) others have archived set to false. Obviously, Project.all(:conditions => {:archived => false}) misses the projects with the archived bits with null values. How can all non-archived projects be selected wtih active record?

    I'm trying to get the last tweet from the people I follow using the twitter api (http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/friends.json&screen_name=[username]), but I noticed that if the user's last tweet is a retweet, the json data does not contain a "status" element. Using the "user timeline" api does not work either, the last tweet is the last non retweeted tweet. Is there a way to get the real last status, even if it's a RT, through the twitter API?

    I read that PLinq will automatically use non parallel Linq if it finds PLinq to be more expensive. So I figured then why not use PLinq for everything (when possible) and let the runtime decide which one to use. The apps will be deployed to multicore servers and I am OK to develop a little more code to deal with parallelism. What are the pitfalls of using plinq as a default?

    I've looked around a bit for a great JavaScript Sprite Sheet animator lib/engine but couldn't find any good ones so I thought I'd ask around =). What I'm looking for in the engine is: Animate an image in a non-canvas setting (ex: div via css or img tags) Control frame rate/animation speed Flags to loop or to animate once etc. Are there any engines like this out there? If not I can always make my own but then again, I don't want to re-invent the wheel =].
