  • Full Uninstall winvnc.exe

    This computer (Windows 7) has not been able to run Windows Aero after I installed some VNC software, UltraVNC and TightVNC. I want to get Aero back, and Microsoft Fix It tells me that it can't be turned on because of mirror drivers (this edition includes Aero, and I had it working well before), which I managed to learn can come from winvnc.exe, which is installed by both programs. I would like to uninstall winvnc.exe and the service from this computer. I messed with the command line a little (I know, I aws being careful), but I couldn't get anywhere, I'm a total beginner with the command line. Can someone please help me remove the exe file and the service, so the mirror drivers are disabled and I can use Aero again? I don't need the VNC servers (I couldn't get them to work anyway), but if keeping the clients is possible that would be nice.

  • Ubuntu: disable udev's persistent-net-generator.rules

    I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server edition and I am modifying /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules to define my own mappings of ethernet interfaces to MAC addresses; that file is initially generated by rules in /lib/udev/rules.d/75-persistent-net-generator.rules at system installation time (or at the first boot, I actually don't know and it doesn't matter here). How can I be sure that my edited version will never ever be overwritten by anything? Removing the persistent-net-generator, as suggested on some websites, is not the Right Thing™ to do as told by comments in the file itself: it will be overwritten by any update of the udev package. I'm looking for a more formally correct way to disable it. Is it enough to just make sure that /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules does exist? Maybe there are other events that could trigger its regeneration? (eg. adding or removing ethernet interfaces to the system?)

  • Font oddity - is this a bug?

    I have Windows 7 Ultimate Home Edition, installed some new fonts recently (I do graphic design etc.) and have noticed some of them don't display in Windows/Fonts via the control panel, Appearance and Personalization. And when they do occur they always have FONTNAME_0.ttf (is this always common for TTF files?). I have 1306 fonts according to FontFrenzy but it doesn't show all of them via the Appearance and Personalization control panel. Also, in C:\Windows\Fonts, the fonts only show as the file name, e.g. arial.ttf (but for some odd reason arial_0.ttf appears, same for other fonts). Why is this, and anyone else had this problem before!

  • Access is denied while moving a file from different volumes

    i have a portable 500GB HDD plugged into my dell xps system. The system have windows 7 professional edition. the problem is that when i try to open a file(visual studio .sln file) it is saying that access is denied. I cannot copy this file to a different location(within my local HDD) it is saying that i need permission for the task to complete. I've checked and confirmed the following things 1) I've logged into an admin account before attempting these operations 2) My admin account have 'Full Control' 3) I've full control over the portable HDD 4) I changed the 'UAC' settings to 'Never notify' Please help.

  • NSButton Aligned to the Right

    Hi, I want to have a check box, like the standard one (first the check box and on the right its title) but I want it to be aligned from the right. If I change the alignment to the right then only the text will move to the right but the button itself will still be at the left.. How would I achieve this without knowing the bounds of the NSButton?   • How does Outlook handle old recurring reminders?

    Context: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit edition Microsoft Office 2007 Outlook Steps to Reproduce: Make an event that recurs once a week. Wait a week. See that it pops up OK. Wait a month. Notice that it doesn't say that it is a month overdue. Expected Result: The usual note that the reminder is [x] weeks overdue. Actual Result: Something like "6 days overdue". Possible Excaberating Issue: I have many overdue reminders. For the ones that aren't time critical (and all other things being equal), I work by category and age. For example, I do health-related reminders when I'm doing health stuff; if I have 2 health-related reminders, I do the older one first. Big Question: How is Outlook supposed to handle this sort of overdue recurring reminder? Is there any way to get Outlook to act the way I expect it to?

I don't recognize this, could not find anything on it, and their tech guy is Nick Burns so he refuses to give me any dirtection. Is there a standard return code for AS/400?   • How to find source of 301/302 redirect loop? Heroku GoDaddy Zerigo

    this should be a relatively simple problem but I'm having trouble.I hope this is the right forum to post on as I've seen people get booted off stack-overflow for this sort of thing. I've setup a web app on heroku (cedar stack) at my-web-app.herokuapp.com and I'm trying to direct my-domain.com and www.my-domain.com to it. As per instructions on the heroku documentation, I've set my-domain.com to redirect (forwarding) to www.my-domain.com and then set a C-Name from www.my-domain.com to my-web-app.herokuapp.com. But the C-Name doesn't seem to be working right and is sending back to my-domain.com, causing a loop and I can't work out why. I first configured these setting at GoDaddy.com where I registered the domain but then tried to avoid the problem by using Heroku's Zerigo DNS add-on, setting the nameservers on GoDaddy to the ones given for Zerigo. However the problem remains. Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-16-generic Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-16-generic (recovery mode) Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic (recovey mode) Ubuntu 9.04, memtest86+ Other operating systems: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Do I have two kernels installed? Do the old entries are still useful? Each kernel takes up space? :P And that's not all, when a get into the old version of Ubuntu, the wireless card stops working on any Ubuntu version until I get into Windows and then go back to Ubuntu. For example, I have the follow dir structure: test1/file.txt test2/file1.txt test2/file2.txt The code above will return: file.txt file1.txt file2.txt How can I get it to include the paths relative to the current directory using standard nix commands?

I managed to get it to build to the device by removing a few .asm files and test.cpp but two issues: 1) the simulator gets build errors relating to: {standard input}:13583:suffix or operands invalid for `call' 2) there are hundreds of warnings (kind of annoying) Has anyone gotten crypto++ to work on iphone and found a way to resolve these issues?
