  Got a service which should be executed the moment an object is persisted. Though, I think the code looks like it should work, it doesn't. place though. At another part of the code the lister seems to be invoked. Though, there are both Controller types and both us $em->persist($something); $em->flush(); to save the changes. I would expect that in both cases the listener is invoked.

• Process: Unable to start service com.google.android.gms.checkin.CheckinService with Intent

  I'm trying to build a Google map application but keep receiving this in my LogCat. I have all the permissions and meta-data set in my manifest, but am still dumbfounded by this error. Have looked everywhere on SO for this specific error but found nothing relating to com.google.android.gms.checkin A little bit about my structural hierarchy. MainActivity extends ActionBarActivity with three tabs underneath actionbar. Each tab has it's own fragment. On the gMapFragment I create a GPSTrack object from my GPSTrack class which extends Service and implements LocationListener. The problem is that when I start the application I get this message: I have all my libraries imported properly and I even added the google-play-services.jar into my libs folder. I also installed Google Play Services APKs through CMD onto my emulator. Furthermore the LocationManager lm = = (LocationManager) mContext.getSystemService(LOCATION_SERVICE); in my GPSTrack class always returns null. Why is this and how can I fix these issues? • iPhone SDK: TextView, Keyboard in Landscape mode

  Hello. How do I make sure that the textview is shown and the keyboard is not obscuring the textview, while in landscape. Using UICatalog I created a TextViewController which works. In it there are two methods for calling the keyboard and making sure that textView is positioned above the keyboard. his just works great in Portrait mode. I got the Landscape mode working, but on the textView is still being put to the top of the iPhone to compensate for the keyboard in portrait mode. I changed the methods for showing the keyboards. Does anyone have what they think is a good set of keybindings that work well for resharper when using ViEmu? What I'm doing at the moment using the Visual Studio bindings from Resharper. Toasting all the conflicting ones with ViEmu, and then just driving the rest through the menu modifiers ( Alt-R keyboard shortcut for the menu item ). I also do the same with Visual Assist shortcuts ( for C++ ) if anyones got any tips and tricks for ViEmu / Resharper or Visual Assist working together well I'd most apprciate it!

  Hi All, We developed navigation bar using jQuery 1.4.2. Functionality is to show submneus for different menu items when user hovers on it. It is working perfectly in IE6 but we see some weird problems in other browsers. In Firefox, when the page gets loaded, it works fine but when we hit f5, the submenu wont appear on hover. To get submenu we need to click on any other menu item. In Chrome, its the same to add on, some time even we click on any menu item, and hover submenu wont show up. In Safari, nothing shows up most of the times, but on clicking 5-6 menu items, submenu is shown.When we see loading text in safari it shows the submenu. but on every click the loading text wont appear.. We are very much confused..is it the browser behavior/code/jquery??   Hi all, I have a strong j2ee background, and I am trying to move to objective-c for some desktop/iphone programming. I used many java web frameworks with mvc in mind, spring and struts ecc... so I am used to have servlet or controller which pass attributes to jsp pages, which is the view. In jsp pages with jstl you can call this attribute and render to video. In this way controller and view are (in theory) clearly separated. With xcode, I can easily recognize the controller and the view built with IBuilder. All the tutorial I found, shown the controller which go and change directly labels or text fields. So my two questions: seems to me that there's no separation between the two (controller and view), where I am wrong in that ? is there a way for a controller to pack all objects in a kind of context in a j2ee way and have the view read that context ? thanks Leonardo

• Best practice to handle Parent Form Child Form relation using Presentation Model

  According to Presentation Model notes by Martin Fowler and also on MSDN documentation about Presentation Model, it is explained that the Presentation Model Class should be unaware of the UI class and similarly Business Model Class should be unaware of the Presentation Model class. The UI should databind extensively to the Presentation Model, the Presentation Model in turn will co-ordinate with one or more Domain/Business Model objects to get the job done. The Presentation Model basically presents the Domain Model data in a way to facilitate maximum data binding in UI, allowing the UI take as less decisions as possible and thus increase testability of Presentation behaviours. This also makes the presentation model class generic, i.e. agnostic of any particular UI technology. Now, consider there is a List form (say CustomerList) and there is another Root form (say Customer) and there is a Use Case of allowing to Edit a Customer from the CustomerList form on a button click. For simplicity of discussion, consider that some actions took place when Customer List is opened from menu (i.e. Customer menu clicked) and the Customer List has been shown from the Menu click event. Now as per the above Use Case, I need to open the Customer Root UI (single Customer) from the Customer List. How do I do that? Build necessary objects (BusinessModel, PresentationModel, UI) in click event of Edit button and call CustomerEdit UI from there? Build the CustomerEdit UI from Presentation Model Class and show UI from presentation model? this can be done in any of the two ways below - a. Create objects in the following sequence DomainModel-PresentationModel-UIForm b. Use Unity.Resolve(); Either ways, Presentation Model is violated as the P model now has to the refer the concrete UI assembly, where CustomerEdit is located. Also the P Model has to refer and use a WinForm directly making it less UI technology agnostic. Even though the violations are in theory and can be ignored, I would still seek the community's opinion about whether I am going wrong direction. Please suggest if there's a better way to call the Child Form from the List (Parent) Form. Rajarshi

• How do I get the SharedPreferences from a PreferenceActivity in Android?

  Hi, I am using a PreferenceActivity to show some settings for my application. I am inflating the settings via a xml file so that my onCreate (and complete class methods) looks like this: public class FooActivity extends PreferenceActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.preference); } } The javadoc of PreferenceActivity states, that These preferences will automatically save to SharedPreferences as the user interacts with them. To retrieve an instance of SharedPreferences that the preference hierarchy in this activity will use, call getDefaultSharedPreferences(android.content.Context) with a context in the same package as this activity. But how I get the name of the SharedPreference in another Activity? I can only call getSharedPreferences(name, mode) in the other activity but I need the name of the SharedPreference which was used by the PreferenceActivity. What is the name or how can i retrieve it?

• Spring security ldap authentication with different ldap for authorities

  I am trying to set up an ldap authentication context where the authorities is a separate ldap instance (with the same principal name). I am having trouble setting up the authentication part, the logs dont show any search results for the following context. • (Java) JPopupMenu won't close if I click outside of it

  Hi all, I have created a Java Swing app that has no visible main window but which is controlled through its tray icon by right-clicking. I am using a JPopupMenu for this, but when I click outside of the popup menu (e.g. on another application's window or the desktop) the JPopupMenu does not disappear which is not the expected behaviour. Originally I was using a popupMenu which did work as expected but this did not allow me to have icons in the menu. How can I get it to close when I click elsewhere, as expected? Thanks!

• How do I make my drop down remain dropped down?

  The site I'm currently working on is located at: http://counterbeing.com The problem I'm trying to solve is that when you run your mouse over the "Categories" button, the sub-menu items pop up, but then disappear before you can click them. I've tried a variety of things. For one thing, I was attempting to define the div that the sub menu items are wrapped in as something that will also trigger the animation, but that doesn't seem to work... • ASP.NET HTTPHandler

  I have an HttpHandler class (implements IHttphandler) where the path defined for the handler in web.config is *.jpg. I am requesting a Jpg image in my page. Within the HTTP Handler I am writing to a file in the filesystem. By mistake I was trying to write to a non existant directory. This should have thrown an exception but the execution simply proceeds.Ofcourse no file is writte. But if I give a proper directory the file is written correctly.Is there anything special about HttpHandler Exceptions.
