• AdSense CPM and content topics

  I run a few blogs on topics like programming, linux tips and network security. I noticed the following: Till last year had only 1 blog that had posts on PHP, linux tips, network security etc. The AdSense RPM was around 1.00. Then I split the content into 3 separate blogs, one focused on web development/PHP/MySQL. second one focused on Linux/Windows how-tos and tips and third one focused on network security and related network topics. The Adsense RPM rose significantly for 2 blogs, and was 1.38 (PHP blog), 0.87 (tech tips blog) and 1.90 (network security blog). In the month of april 2013 the site on network security had the highest traffic and the Adsense income of that site was twice that of all three sites combined previously. My question is simple, does focusing on one topic lead to higher CPC/CPM?

Pinging is enabled on the router too. I briefly had a static configuration working but it died after the first reboot. Please let me know what other info you might need. I am beyond frustrated/baffled.

• Virtualized data centre&ndash;Part four: The design

  Welcome back to the fourth post in this series! Today we will have a look at what Microsoft recommends as a “private cloud design” and what I will make of it. Whilst my own solution is based of the reference architecture, it is quite different indeed! An important thing to know is that, whilst I am using the private cloud as a reference, I am skipping most of the steps in designing a private cloud. If that is why you are here, please read the links at the end of the article and skim through my own content. A private cloud is much more process driven than just building a virtual infrastructure… The architecture of it all… So imagine for a minute that you have unlimited funds to build this lab of yours… You’d want redundancy on all levels and separation of each network where possible! Unfortunately we don’t have that luxury and, as you saw me hinting at in the previous article, our own design will be more limited but still quite capable! Networking From the networking perspective I will not have a fully redundant network, after all, this is but a lab environment! Thanks to Server 2012 I will be able to use bonding on my NIC’s and use LACP to improve the performance on that part. Storage As I mentioned in the previous article a Synology DS1218+ will be used for iSCSI provisioning. This device has 2 NICs on-board which can be bonded in to one 2 Gbps interface giving me a decent throughput and making the disks the most limiting factor in the storage design. Domain controllers and extra infrastructure Server 2012 completely supports running domain controllers virtualized and has no need to actually have a reachable DC when booting… That being said I need a remote access machine to power on the hosts (I have no need for them running 24/7) and a possible System Center VMM 2012 box (although server 2012 is not supported until SP1 :( ).   I just installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my DELL Latitude E6230, on first boot wifi worked properly but when I updated the software it stopped working. I can't figure out the problem... In the "Network" setting window, I only see "Wired" and "Network proxy". Wireless has just disappeared: rfkill list all 0: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no and that's it! Nothing about the wireless controller... Any suggestions?

Most cloud deployments today are either private or public. It is also possible to connect a private cloud and a public cloud to form a hybrid cloud. A private cloud is for the exclusive use of an organization. Enterprises, universities and government agencies throughout the world are using private clouds. Some have designed, built and now manage their private clouds. Others use a private cloud that was built by and is now managed by a provider, hosted either onsite or at the provider’s datacenter. Because private clouds are for exclusive use, they are usually the option chosen by organizations with concerns about data security and guaranteed performance. Public clouds are open to anyone with an Internet connection. Because they require no capital investment from their users, they are particularly attractive to companies with limited resources in less regulated environments and for temporary workloads such as development and test environments. Public clouds offer a range of products, from end-user software packages to more basic services such as databases or operating environments. Public clouds may also offer cloud services such as a disaster recovery for a private cloud, or the ability to “cloudburst” a temporary workload spike from a private cloud to a public cloud. These are examples of a hybrid cloud. These are most feasible when the private and public clouds are built with similar technologies. • LXC Container Networking

  I just started to experiment with LXC containers. I was able to create a container and start it up but I cannot get dhcp to assign the container an IP address. If I assign a static address the container can ping the host IP but not outside the host IP. The host is CentOS 6.5 and the guest is Ubuntu 14.04LTS. I used the template downloaded by lxc-create -t download -n cn-01 command. If I am trying to get an IP address on the same subnet as the host I don't believe I should need the IP tables rule for masquerading but I added it anyways. Same with IP forwarding. • How to run Virtualbox on bridged and host-only networks?

  I wish to run VirtualBox with my Ubuntu laptop on the home network (so the desktop PC can access it through the router) and also be able to ssh into the VirtualBox from host on the go (different network or with no internet). Previously, the only network adapter on the VB instance was a 'bridged connection' adapter. This allowed me to access the internet on the guest VB and for the other computers on the LAN + host to access it. However, whenever I took my laptop off the network, I could no longer access the guest from host. I read that I needed to enable a host-only adapter to access it off the network and a NAT adapter is used to access the internet from guest. My question is can I run a host-only adapter + a NAT adapter alongside a bridged network adapter in VirtualBox? I am confused what I would put inside /etc/hosts? Would I put both IP's (host-only and bridged) with the same servername in /etc/hosts?

• How do I connect my Windows XP laptop to the internet?

  Hello fellow super users, The Past I have a Acer Travelmate 2300 laptop running Windows XP. 6 months ago I moved into a new apartment and got a new internet connection set up. After getting an internet connection installed in my apartment I reinstalled Windows XP and at the same time wiped my drive clean losing all the original Acer software and drivers. Once XP was reinstalled I had to find all the drivers again to get the Travelmate laptop connected to the internet. So, using my Vista laptop which was connected fine, I went to the Acer Travelmate Series drivers download page to download the necessary drivers. I transferred them to my Acer XP machine and installed them the best I could (there were no easy instructions so I just had to find all the executables and run them). I eventually got connected to the internet but not exactly in the way I had hoped for. The Present To be connected to the internet I need to have an Ethernet cord connecting my computer (via the Ethernet port) to my router. This is a problem since it defeats the purpose of having a Wireless LAN card in my Acer laptop. One of the programs I downloaded from the Acer Travelmate Series page was the Acer Wireless LAN Configuration Utility. This program allows me to see the current network I am connected to and all the available networks I could potentially connect to. It reminds me of XP's Wireless Network Connection window/utility where you can see all available wireless networks, refresh the network list and connect to one of the networks. I should mention that my ISP set up a security enabled wireless network with WPA. This network requires a network key if you want to connect to it. I guess my Vista computer has the network key entered into it already. The problem is that I do not know what the network key is. Now obviously you would say just contact my ISP to get the key. And I will but there is just one extra weird issue. I am able to connect to another unsecured wireless network in the Wireless Network Connection window/utility. I can be on it as long as my Ethernet cable is plugged in. So this is not really wireless is it? And this indicates that even if I do get that network key password from my ISP, I will only solve one of the two problems I have. I will only solve being able to get online as long as I am connected to my router via the Ethernet cable. The Main Questions So how do I enable my acer IPN2220 Wireless LAN Card so that I can use my Acer laptop from anywhere with in my apartment? Or should I first get the network key from my ISP to access my security enabled wireless network? And then deal with getting the acer IPN2220 Wireless LAN Card working? Hard & Learned VS Easy & Stupid Of course contacting the ISP would be easier. Have em just come in here and do there thing. The problem with that is that they do not speak English (yeah, im in Poland) and it'd be a hell of a time trying to understand what they are doing (uncomfortable looking over their shoulder).   I am trying to create a custom object in AS3 to pass information to and from a server, which in this case will be Red5. In the below screenshots you will see that I am able to send a request for an object from as3, and receive it successfully from the java server. However, when I try to cast the received object to my defined objectType using 'as', it takes the value of null. It is my understanding that that when using "as" your checking to see if your variable is a member of the specified data type. If the variable is not, then null will be returned. This screenshot illustrates that I am have successfully received my object 'o' from red5 and I am just about to cast it to the (supposedly) identical datatype testObject of LobbyData: However, when testObject = o as LobbyData; runs, it returns null. :( Below you will see my specifications both on the java server and the as3 client. I am confident that both objects are identical in every way, but for some reason flash does not think so. I have been pulling my hair out for a long time, does anyone have any thoughts? • Struts2 Hibernate Login with User table and group table

  My problem is, i have a table User and Table Group (this table use to authorization for user - it mean when user belong to a group like admin, they can login into admincp and other user belong to group member, they just only read and write and can not login into admincp) each user maybe belong to many groups and each group has been contain many users and they have relationship are many to many I use hibernate for persistence storage. and struts 2 to handle business logic. When i want to implement login action from Struts2 how can i get value of group member belong to ? to compare with value i want to know? exist for the emailaddress dont update data else create a user and update its profilexml from data fecthed from gedcom. for this i think i need some soln by which i can do only one roundtrip to database and can update all user's xml. or i can execute one sp to get userid from all users where i'll check if user exist then return userid else insert basic data and return inserted userid then for every user make xml from data and update it. please provide be suggestion what is best practice to do this kind of development. if need any more details please write me
