    Hi all, I am creating a very simple, very large Postgresql database. The database will have around 10 billion rows, which means I am looking at partitioning it into several tables. However, I can't find any information on how many partitions we should break it into. I don't know what type of queries to expect as of yet, so it won't be possible to come up with a perfect partitioning scheme, but are there any rules of thumb for partition size? Cheers, Adrian.

  • Problem with Keyboard hook proc

    The background: My form has a TWebBrowser. I want to close the form with ESC but the TWebBrowser eats the keystrokes - so I decided to go with a keyboard hook. The problem is that the Form can be open in multiple instances at the same time. No matter what I do, in some situations, if there are two instances open of my form, closing one of them closes the other as well. I've attached some sample code.   • How do I use .htaccess RewriteRule to change underscores to dashes

    I'm working on a site, and its CMS used to save new page urls using the underscore character as a word seperator. Despite the fact that Google now treats underscore as a word seperator, the SEO powers that be are demanding the site use dashes instead. This is very easy to do within the CMS, and I can of course change all existing URLs saved in the MySQL database that serves the CMS. My problem lies in writing a .htaccess rule that will 301 old style underscore seperated links to the new style hyphenated verstion.     I need to write a Perl script that pipes input into a Java program. This is related to this, but that didn't help me. My issue is that the Java app doesn't get the print statements until I close the handle. What I found online was that $| needs to be set to something greater than 0, in which case newline characters will flush the buffer. This still doesn't work. Also, in Phong(...), when I computed the intensity_diffuse and while debugging, I divided light_color by 10, I was obtaining a resulting image that looked more like what I need. Am I calculating the light_color correctly? Thanks.
