  • SQL Binary Microsoft Access - Combining two tables if specific field values are equal

    I am new to Microsoft Access and SQL but have a decent programming background and I believe this problem should be relatively simple. I have two tables that I have imported into Access. I will give you a little context. One table is huge and contains generic, global data. The other table is still big but contains specific, regional data. There is only one common field (or column) between the two tables. Let’s call this common field CF. The other fields in both tables are different. I’ll take you through one iteration of what I need to do. I need to take each CF value in the regional, smaller table and find the common CF value in the larger, global table. After finding the match, I need to take the whole “record” or “row” from the global data and copy it over to the corresponding record in the smaller regional table (This should involve creating the new fields). I need to do this for all CF values in the regional, smaller table. I was recommended to use SQL and a binary search, but I am unfamiliar. Let me know if you have any questions.     I am using the jquery date picker found here: http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/datePickerStartEnd.html that allows the user to pick a start and end date. However I want to be able to disable specific dates. I tried to implement the code found here: stackoverflow.com/questions/501943/can-the-jquery-ui-datepicker-be-made-to-disable-saturdays-and-sundays-and-holida that discusses disabling national holidays.   • Iterate Through JSON Data for Specific Element - Similar to XPath

    I am working on an embedded system and my theory of the overall process follows this methodology: 1. Send a command to the back end asking for account information in JSON format. 2. The back end writes a JSON file with all accounts and associated information (there could be 0 to 16 accounts). 3. Here's where I get stuck - use JavaScript (we are using the JQuery library) to iterate through the returned information for a specific element (similar to XPath) and build an array based on the number of elements found to populate a drop-down box to select the account you want to view and then do stuff with the account info.     I am trying to make specific radiobutton checked on page load and tried a lot of ways, but no one worked for me. This is a part of orderform on my webstore. <input type="radio" name="sPaymentCarrier" id="pC_2-1" value="1;2;0.00" onclick="countCarrierPrice( this )" /> <label for="pC_2-1">0</label> Actually this radiobutton is the only on radiobutton on page, and it must be checked to let user make order.     Well, this question is a bit specific but I think there is some general idea in it that I can't get it. Lets say I got K servers (which is a constant that I know its size). I have a program that get requests and every request has an id and server id that will handle it. I have n requests - unknown size and can be any number. I need a data structure to support the next operations within the given complexity: GetServer - the function gets the request ID and returns the server id that is supposed to handle this request at the current situation and not necessarily the original server (see below). Complexity: O(log K) at average. KillServer - the function gets as input a server id that should be removed and another server id that all the requests of the removed server should be passed to. Complexity: O(1) at the worst case. -- Place complexity for all the structure is O(K+n) -- The KillServer function made me think using a Union-Find as I can do the union in O(1) as requested but my problem is the first operation. Why it's LogK? Actually, no matter how I "save" the requests if I want to access to any request (lets say it's an AVL tree) so the complexity will be O(log n) at the worst case and said that I can't assume Kn (and probably K Tried thinking about it a couple of hours but I can't find any solution. Known structures that can be used are: B+ tree, AVL tree, skip list, hash table, Union-Find, rank tree and of course all the basics like arrays and such.

  • List all foreign key constraints that refer to a particular column in a specific table

    I would like to see a list of all the tables and columns that refer (either directly or indirectly) a specific column in the 'main' table via a foreign key constraint that has the ON DELETE=CASCADE setting missing. The tricky part is that there would be an indirect relationships buried across up to 5 levels deep. (example: ... great-grandchild- FK3 = grandchild = FK2 = child = FK1 = main table). We need to dig up the leaf tables-columns, not just the very 1st level. The 'good' part about this is that execution speed isn't of concern, it'll be run on a backup copy of the production db to fix any relational issues for the future. I did SELECT * FROM sys.foreign_keys but that gives me the name of the constraint - not the names of the child-parent tables and the columns in the relationship (the juicy bits).     I want to zebra stripe only select tables using. I do not want to use jQuery for this. tbody tr:nth-child(even) td, tbody tr.even td {background:#e5ecf9;} When I put that in a css file it affects all tables on all pages that call the same stylesheet. What I would like to do is selectively apply it to specific tables.   • Trying to move files with specific file names from root directory to a subfolder

    Hi I'm still pretty new to powershell so I apologize if I ask something that extremely basic. I have a root directory on a tftp server that pulls down config files from routers and other equipment every night. The files are like this IPaddress_YYYYMMDD_TA5000. There is a limitation in the equipment where the files can't be set to move into the root directory on their own. What I want to do is make a powershell script that will only move the files with the TA5000 part in the filename to the sub directory and only keep the 5 most recent files. I looked but I couldn't seem to find what I would need to do to parse the file for that specific string. I already have the portion of the script to delete the files based on age that was simple. Any help on getting started would be appreciated. Edit: I forgot to post the code I was trying. Move-Item c:\tftptransferfiles c:\tftptransferfiles\sca | Where-Object {_.name -like "*TA5000*"} I keep getting a error saying that the item at C:\tftptransferfiles is in use.

  • CherryPy sessions for same domain, different port

    Consider the script below. It will launch two subprocesses, each one a CherryPy app (hit Ctrl+C or whatever the KeyboardInterrupt combo is on your system to end them both). If you run it with CP 3.0 (taking care to change the 3.0/3.1 specific lines in "StartServer"), then visit: http://localhost:15002/ ...you see an empty dict. Then visit: http://localhost:15002/set?val=10 http://localhost:15002/ ...and you see the newly populated dict. Then visit: http://localhost:15012/ ...and go back to http://localhost:15002/ ...and nothing has changed. If you try the same thing with CP 3.1 (remember the lines in "StartServer"!), when you get to the last step, the dict is now empty. This happens in Windows and Debian, Python 2.5 and 2.6. You can try all sorts of things: changing to file storage, separating the storage paths... the only difference it makes is that the sessions might get merged instead of erased. I've read another post about this as well, and there's a suggestion there to put the session tools config keys in the app config rather than the global config, but I don't think that's relevant to this usage where the apps run independently. What do I do to get independent CherryPy applications to NOT interfere with each other? Note: I originally asked this on the CherryPy mailing list but haven't had a response yet so I'm trying here. The "all" target depends on v12target and v13 target, which set a number of variables for that particular build. It also depends on an "avrcommontargets" pattern, which defines how to actually do the compiling. avrcommontargets then depends on the ELF file, which in turn depends on object files, which are built from the C source code. Each compiled C file results in an object file (*.o). Since each configuration (v12, v13, etc.) results in a different output, the C file needs to be built several times with the output placed in different subdirectories. For example, "build/v12/main.o", "build/v13/main.o", etc. Sample output: TODO call GCC to compile C file: destination build//main.o, source main.c TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV12.elf, source build//main.o TODO build ELF file from object file: destination build/DoV13.elf, source build//main.o The problem is that the object file isn't going into the correct subdirectory. For example, "build//main.o" instead of "build/v12/main.o". That then prevents the main.o from being correctly rebuilt to generate the v13 version of main.o. I'm guessing the issue is that $(INTDIR) is a target specific variable, and perhaps this can't be used in the pattern targets I defined for %.elf and %.o.   • DSP - Filtering in the frequency domain via FFT

    I've been playing around a little with the Exocortex implementation of the FFT, but I'm having some problems. Whenever I modify the amplitudes of the frequency bins before calling the iFFT the resulting signal contains some clicks and pops, especially when low frequencies are present in the signal (like drums or basses). However, this does not happen if I attenuate all the bins by the same factor. Let me put an example of the output buffer of a 4-sample FFT: // Bin 0 (DC) FFTOut[0] = 0.0000610351563 FFTOut[1] = 0.0 // Bin 1 FFTOut[2] = 0.000331878662 FFTOut[3] = 0.000629425049 // Bin 2 FFTOut[4] = -0.0000381469727 FFTOut[5] = 0.0 // Bin 3, this is the first and only negative frequency bin. FFTOut[6] = 0.000331878662 FFTOut[7] = -0.000629425049 The output is composed of pairs of floats, each representing the real and imaginay parts of a single bin. So, bin 0 (array indexes 0, 1) would represent the real and imaginary parts of the DC frequency. As you can see, bins 1 and 3 both have the same values, (except for the sign of the Im part), so I guess bin 3 is the first negative frequency, and finally indexes (4, 5) would be the last positive frequency bin. Then to attenuate the frequency bin 1 this is what I do: // Attenuate the 'positive' bin FFTOut[2] *= 0.5; FFTOut[3] *= 0.5; // Attenuate its corresponding negative bin. Why? How can I fix this? page2.php is creating some more sessions after some processing is done and a response is sent back to page1.php. The submit button of the form on page1.php is hit and the page gets POST'ed to page3.php. But when the SESSION info that gets created in page2.php is echoed, it's blank signifying that SESSIONS from page2.php are not used. How can I fix this? I looked over a lot of information and have spent about 50 hours trying to do different things with my scripts before arriving at the above conclusions. My app. is custom made using function (not OOPS) and does not use any PHP frameworks & I am not even about to use any as my knowledge of OOP concepts is limited any many frameworks are object oriented. I came across race conditions, but the solutions provided don't help too much. One more solution of using DB to hold sessions and seek and retrieve from DB is the last thing on my mind and I really want to avoid creating table, coding and maintaining code for a task as simple as just keeping sessions across pages in the same domain. So my request is: Is there a way that I can solve the above problem(s) via simple coding in present conditions? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

  • Set a specific stylesheet based on session variable in javascript

    I have an option for a user to select his/her own theme while logged into the system and this theme is set in a MYSQL Database and called each time the user logs in, this is called by: <?php $_SESSION['SESS_THEME_NAME']; ?> Now, I had this working in a PHP file but I need it to work in Javascript instead unfortunately. And I need some help. I looked at the code using the developers tools on Google Chrome and looks like the above code is not resolving within the javascript file. Which makes sense because you can't access session variables within a javascript file (as I found by searching Google.) The code is basically supposed to set the specific stylesheet based on the value extracted from the MYSQL database. So if the database says Default the script needs to tell the webpage to use the default.css file. And so on and so forth.   • No data when attempting to get JSONP data from cross domain PHP script

    I am trying to pull latitude and longitude values from another server on a different domain using a singe id string. I am not very familiar with JQuery, but it seems to be the easiest way to go about getting around the same origin problem. I am unable to use iframes and I cannot install PHP on the server running this javascript, which is forcing my hand on this. My queries appear to be going through properly, but I am not getting any results back. I was hoping someone here might have an idea that could help, seeing as I probably wouldn't recognize most obvious errors here.   • When can Java produce a NaN (with specific code question)

    I'm a bit perplexed by some code I'm currently writing. I am trying to preform a specific gradient descent (main loop included below) and depending on the initial conditions I will alternatively get good looking results (perhaps 20% of the time) or everything becomes NaN (the other 80% of the time). However it seems to me that none of the operations in my code could produce NaN's when given honest numbers!   • Getting specific data from database

    I have a table called Categorie with a few columns and I'm trying to get only a few out of my database. So I've tried this: $sql = 'SELECT uppercat AS id, COUNT(uppercat) AS uppercat FROM categorie GROUP BY uppercat;'; $d = Yii::app()->db->createCommand($sql)->query(); But I find the output strange. I was trying to do an array_shift but I get an error that this isn't an array. Is there any other way on how to get some specific data out of my database and that I can then do an array_shift on them? I've also tried doing this with findAllBySql but then I can't reach my attribute for COUNT(uppercat) which is not in my model. I guess I'd have to add it to my model but I wouldn't like that because I need it just once.

  • How does the GPL static vs. dynamic linking rule apply to interpreted languages?

    In my understanding, the GPL prohibits static linking from non-GPL code to GPL code, but permits dynamic linking from non-GPL code to GPL code. So which is it when the code in question is not linked at all because the code is written in an interpreted language (e.g. Perl)? It would seem to be too easy to exploit the rule if it was considered dynamic linking, but on the other hand, it would also seem to be impossible to legally reference GPL code from non-GPL code if it was considered static! Compiled languages at least have a distinction between static and dynamic linking, but when all "linking" is just running scripts, it's impossible to tell what the intent is without an explicit license! Or is my understanding of this issue incorrect, rendering the question moot? I've also heard of a "classpath exception" which involves dynamic linking; is that not part of the GPL but instead something that can be added on to it, so dynamic linking is only allowed when the license includes this exception?

  • Can static and dynamically typed languages be seen as different tools for different types of jobs?

    Yes, similar questions have been asked but always with the aim of finding out 'which one is better.' I'm asking because I came up as a dev primarily in JavaScript and don't really have any extensive experience writing in statically typed languages. In spite of this I definitely see value in learning C for handling demanding operations at lower levels of code (which I assume has a lot to do with static vs dynamic at the compiler level), but what I'm trying to wrap my head around is whether there are specific project contexts (maybe certain types of dynamic data-intensive operations?) involving things other than performance where it makes a lot more sense to go with Java or C# vs. something like Python.

    I love PHP and C# languages and i want to be excellent in both. I like to develop PHP applications using MySQL, Nginx, Memcached and so on technologies. I also like ASP.NET MVC stack and think it's great tools. But each technology requires a lot of time to master it. The same is true for C# web stack - there is a huge amount of things to be mastered like Azure, LINQ, Entity Framework ets. Mastering PHP means knowing how it works under the hood. Mastering C# means knowing CLR implementations on a deep level, knowing MSIL etc/ Where to get time for all this? Maybe this is "jack of all trades"? What can you advice?
