  • uWSGI and python virtual env

    I'm trying to use uWSGI with a virtual env in order to use the Trac bug tracker on it. I've installed system-wide uwsgi via pip. Next, I've installed trac in a virtualenv $ virtualenv venv $ . venv/bin/activate $ pip install trac I've then written a simple uWSGI configuration script: [uwsgi] master = true processes = 1 socket = localhost:3032 home = /srv/http/trac/venv/ no-site = true gid = www-data uid = www-data env = TRAC_ENV=/srv/http/trac/projects/my_project module = trac.web.main:dispatch_request But when I try to launch it, it fails: $ uwsgi --http :8000 --ini /etc/uwsgi/vassals-available/my_project.ini --gid www-data --uid www-data ... Set PythonHome to /srv/http/trac/venv/ ... *** Operational MODE: single process *** ImportError: No module named trac.web.main unable to load app 0 (mountpoint='') (callable not found or import error) I think uWSGI isn't using the virtual env. When inside the virtual env, I can import trac.web.main without having an ImportError. How can I do that ? Thanks

    I'm trying to run a headless install of Dropbox on RHEL 6.   • Can't deploy an ejb bean on jboss

    I am try to deploy a jar to an jboss server. It works on my environment. But when I deployed the same jar on another server, i kept getting an error saying that the persistence unit is already registered. There is no other bean using the same name and the same persistence unit name. I tried to restart the server and remove the tmp, work, data directory but still get the same error. here is my error: ObjectName: jboss.j2ee:service=EJB3,module=wess_jpa.jar State: FAILED Reason: java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.management.InstanceAlreadyExistsException: persistence.units:unitName=dses_wess already registered.     i am running Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS and it came pre-packed with python2.6 but i need to replace it with python2.7.2. (The reason is simple, 2.7 has a lot of features backported from 3 ) i had installed python2.7.2 using ./configure make make altinstall the altinstall option installed it, without touching the system default version, to /usr/local/lib/python2.7 and placed the interpreter in /usr/local/bin/python2.7 Then to help mod_wsgi find python2.7 i added the following to /etc/apache2/sites-available/wsgisite WSGIPythonHome /usr/local i start apache and run a test wsgi app BUT i am greeted by python 2.6.5 and not Python2.7 Later i replaced the default python simlink to point to python 2.7 ln -f /usr/local/bin/python2.7 /usr/bin/python Now typing 'python' on the console opens python2.7 but somehow mod_wsgi still picks up python2.6 Next i tried, PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH export PATH then do a quick restart apache, but yet again its python2.6 !!   • Automatically detecting temperature sensors on startup (Ubuntu 10.10)

    I am very close to achieving my goal of setting up a CPU temperature graph that is displayed in the top panel of my desktop. I have the applet and have gotten it to graph temperatures, which appear to be being sensed correctly. However, my machine doesn't find its temperature sensors by default; I have to run sudo modprobe coretemp for the sensors command to work, then log off and back in before the graph applet starts displaying my temperatures. I am wondering if I can somehow tell the kernel to load the coretemp module on startup so I don't have to keep doing these extra steps. I have tried putting this command in my startup applications, but I think its need for root permission is keeping this from working. Is there a way to set up startup applications with root permission, or some other way to ensure that this module is loaded at startup? If anyone is curious, I'm running 64-bit Ubuntu 10.10 on a Lenovo G770 laptop with a Core i5 processor and the 2.6.35 kernel.

    Im trying to set up multiple user directories on EC2 running Ubuntu, but im not sure how to set it up correctly so that i can serve files in the following format: http://<ec2 ip address>/user_1/public_html/file1.html and http://<ec2 ip address>/user_2/public_html/file3.html and so on for every user that i add. I tried looking for the httpd.conf file but i coulndt find it i only found apache2.conf Thank you guys.

    PAM version - pam-0.79 Is setting 0 allowed on "remember" option in /etc/pam.d/common-passwd file of pam.d module to disable passwd history feature? With "remember=0" in /etc/pam.d/common-passwd file, I am observing a memfault when running the passwd command as a USER. When browsed the source, the function in _set_ctrl in support.c file of pam_unix module handles wrong values of remember, but currently its not robust enough to handle 0, which is a wrong value. So the valid and only option to disable history feature, is to not include the "remember" option in /etc/pam.d/common-passwd file and not to set-up /etc/security/opasswd file?     I'm using vim as my primary editor with python files; I'd like to be able to easily open python files. As an example: I'm looking at a particular module A.py, in it I see the line import funkyModule, I want to edit that module so I just type in the command :pyed funkyModule and the pyed vim-command automatically finds the file funkyModule.py (or funkyModule/__init__.py) where ever it occurs on the python path. This capability is modeled on the capabilities if the ipython shell, where In [#]: edit funkyModule does what I've just described.

    I'm looking to manage/administer many IIS6 servers remotely via Powershell (query sites, iis settings, etc). Is this possible? Is there a Microsoft-supported module out there? Or do I have to use WMI-Object/WebAdministration? If so, could some one give me some quick instructions on doing some simple "get info" commands in Powershell to a remote IIS6 machine? (It's frustrating that there is a nice IIS7/Microsoft-supported module out there: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/428/getting-started-with-the-iis-70-powershell-snap-in/ But not an IIS6 one easily found.)

    So here are my requirements. I have a website built in Django. I deployed it on Apache Ubuntu. Before there was no SSL involved so the deployment was pretty simple. But now the requirements are changed. Now I have to take a few actions like signup and login behind SSL and present the admin panel and other normally via HTTP. By following the this tutorial I have set-up Apache and SSL and generated certificates for SSL communication. But I am not sure how to proceed, ie. how to serve only a few of my actions through SSL.   • Drupal7 doesn't detect MySQL on CentOS, but Wordpress3 does?

    Hey guys. I'm running CentOS 5.5 here with Apache2, PHP5, and MySQL 5. My wordpress install on the same system runs perfectly, but the drupal7 install script only detects SQLite. The mysql module is enabled in php.ini, so that isn't the problem. Do you think it could be something with Drupal 7, or my PHP install? I tested it on localhost (I'm essentially running ArchLinux with Apache) and it installs just fine. I don't see a difference between my local php.ini and my server php.ini. I get this when accessing install.php on the server. SQLite The type of database your Drupal data will be stored in. Your PHP configuration only supports a single database type, so it has been automatically selected. Edit: The mysql PDO module is installed already.

    The Yubico PAM Module seems to require changes to the PAM stack for each user that will be authenticated with a YubiKey. Specifically, it seems that each user's client identity must be added to the right PAM configuration file before the user can be authenticated. While it makes sense to add authorized keys to an authentication database such as /etc/yubikey_mappings or ~/.yubico/authorized_yubikeys, it seems like a bad practice to have to edit the PAM stack itself for each individual user. I would definitely like to avoid having to hard-code user identities into the PAM stack this way. So, is it possible to avoid hard-coding the id parameter to the pam_yubico.so module itself? If not, are there any other PAM modules that can leverage YubiKey authentication without hard-coding the stack?

  • How to allow only specific directories to use htaccess?

    Currently in apache2.conf I have AllowOverride all set for /var/www which simply allows htaccess for all the sites on the server (which is Ubuntu, 9.04). However, I'd rather only allow overrides in each site root directory and nothing else. In other words, /var/www/site1, /var/www/site2, etc. can have a htaccess, but all other directories including /var/www and /var/www/site1/content cannot. Is there a way to do this without having to write a rule for every site on the server?

  • Memory Speeds: 1x4GB or 2x2GB? [closed]

    When it comes to speeds what is faster having one 4GB module in your system or having two 2GB modules. I'm not taking in the fact that the system could have dual channel capabilities. Also what about a server environment? Would it be better to have one large, high density module or break it up into several modules for speed and price? I heard an engineer at my office having a discussion with an employee. He said that its better in all situations to have one large capacity modules instead of breaking it up. It would be cheaper and perform faster. He also said it would take longer for the computer to access what it needed if there were more modules instead of having just one. His explanation didn't seem right to me and I thought I would post this question here to see what other people thought.

As usual I installed vmware tools to enable full screen mode and shared folder functionality.
