• php cURL POST how to follow location

  Hi Guys, I am in a bit of a rut with a cURL issue. The post works greate, the data is POSTED just fine and received ok, but the url of the posted page never appears in the browser after the cURL session is executed, for example look at the following code: $ch = curl_init("http://localhost/eterniti/cart-step-1.php"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, "error=1&em=$em&fname=$fname&lname=$lname&email1=$email1&email2=$email2&code=$code&area=$area&number=$num&mobile=$mobile&address1=$address1&address2=$address2&address3=$address3&suburb=$suburb&postcode=$postcode&country=$country"); curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); The post works fine and I am taken to the cart-step-1.php where I can process the posted data, HOWEVER the location in the URL address bar of the browser remains that of the script page, in this case proc_xxxxxx.php Any ideas how to get the URL address to reflect the page I am actually POSTED to?   I have an iPhone App linked against iPhone SDK 4.0 but as deployment target I selected OS 3.1.   I'm using a button in a template field of gridview. On button click I want to redirect to another page but it throws an exception: Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" % in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. What can I do to resolve this problem?

• How to limit NSTextField text length and keep it always upper case?

  Need to have an NSTextField with a text limit of 4 characters maximum and show always in upper case but can't figure out a good way of achieving that. I've tried to do it through a binding with a validation method but the validation only gets called when the control loses first responder and that's no good. Temporarly I made it work by observing the notification NSControlTextDidChangeNotification on the text field and having it call the method: - (void)textDidChange:(NSNotification*)notification { NSTextField* textField = [notification object]; NSString* value = [textField stringValue]; if ([value length] > 4) { [textField setStringValue:[[value uppercaseString] substringWithRange:NSMakeRange(0, 4)]]; } else { [textField setStringValue:[value uppercaseString]]; } } But this surely isn't the best way of doing it. Any better suggestion?

  Hello World! Hi guys, I have a master page with two partial viewson it both of which submit to the AccountController. When I click Submit on either of the partial views the following happens: If I declare the partial views like Html.BeginForm("PartialAction1","Account") it redirects to that partial view on clicking submit instead bringing back the default HomeContoller Index view with validation errors. If I declare the partial view forms as Html.BeginForm() then it returns to the default index view of the home controller. But it actually fires both partial view actions inside the AccountController and thus returns validation errors for both partial views simultaneously. What I want is version 2 above with only one action firing instead of two. Am I missing, hopefully, something very simple? I hoping someone can help me or point me in the right direction.   I have created a blog application using Ruby on Rails which includes the ability to vote on posts. A user can click vote and a record is created in the vote table. I am now trying to limit that same person from voting for a post multiple times. class Post has_many :votes end class Vote belongs_to :post end When a vote record is created I am using the VotesController to pass the :post_id and using a hidden field in the view to pass the ip_address (both to the vote table). I am wondering if there is a way to add a validation to the Vote Model that searches to see if a post_id has an ip_address that matches the person requesting to vote. I have tried simply using the validates_uniqueness_of :ip_address but that restricts the user from voting on any post. I just want to restrict the user from voting on a particular post that they have already voted on. Is there a way to do this through validation?

  I'm using ActiveScaffold to create an Admin UI. I have two models: Post and Comments. A Post has-many Comments, and a Comment belongs-to a post. There's a validates_presences_of :text validation the Comment model. The problem is that when I create a new Post from the Admin UI without creating a new Comment in the subform, ActiveScaffold complains about the validation. I can create the Post if I also create a Comment associated with it, which is not what I Want. I can create a new Post manually from script/console. What gives?

  Out of curiosity, anyone knows the particulars of the internal implementation of ListControl.SelectedIndex = (int) <new valueIndex> VS ListControl.SelectedValue = <new value>.ToString() I'm having difficulties with a custom validation object we've built here to process all validation in one sweep. I suspect using <SelectedValue = > will raise a SelectedIndexChanged event, even though both the value and index remain the same, both before and after the operation.   Well, I tried to ask this question as a comment on this question, but I thought that maybe no one will notice it, so I decided to ask it as a separate one. The question is about how to do real-time GPS tracking system things; if we have the following scenario: Rather than connecting a GPS receiver to a PC, the user will have a mobile device with an integrated GPS receiver. Location data will be sent over mobile network using GPRS data connection to a server side. The data will be processed and a KML path file will be created and updated on time intervals and used to track the user using Google Earth. The question is: what is the best method to accomplish this scenario for the server side; is it a web service, a web application, a windows service, a windows application or what exactly? Taking into account that the system will serve a number of users simultaneously, and that more users may use the system in the future(scalability issues). • How to validate HTTP request headers before receiving request body using WCF

  I'm implementing a REST service using WCF which will be used to upload very large files. The HTTP headers in this request will communicate information which will be validated prior to allowing the upload to proceed (things like permissions, available disk space, etc). It's possible this validation will fail resulting in an error response. I'd like to do this validation prior to the client sending the body of the request, so it has a chance to detect failure before uploading potentially gigabytes of data. RESTful web services use the HTTP 1.1 Expect: 100-continue in the request to implement this. For example Amazon S3's REST API can validate your key and ACLs in response to an object PUT operation, returning 100 Continue if all is well, indicating you may proceed to send your data. I've rummaged around the WCF documentation and I just can't see a way to accomplish this without doing some pretty low-level hooking into the HTTP request processing pipeline. How would you suggest I solve this problem?

  Hi there, i'm using the Jquery validate() plugin for some forms and it goes great. The only thing is that i have an input field that requires a special validation process. Here is how it goes: The Jquery validate plugin is called in the domready for all the required fields. Here is an exemple for an input: <li> <label for="nome">Nome completo*</label> <input name="nome" type="text" id="nome" class="required"/> </li> And here is how i call my special function: <li> <span id="sprytextfield1"> <label for="cpf">CPF* (xxxxxxxxxxx)</label> <input name="cpf" type="text" id="cpf" maxlength="15" class="required" /> <span class="textfieldInvalidFormatMsg">CPF Inv&aacute;lido.</span> </span> </li> And at the bottom of the file i call the Spry function: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var sprytextfield1 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextField("sprytextfield1","cpf"); //--> </script> Of course i call the Spry css and js files in the head section as well as my special-validate.js. When i just use the Jquery validate() plugin and click on the send button, the page goes automatically back to the first mistaken input field and shows the error type (not a number, not a valid email etc.). But with this new function, this "going-back-to-the-first-mistake" feature doesnt work, of course, because the validate() function sees it all good. I already added a rule for another form (about pictures upload) and it goes like this: $("#commentForm").validate({ rules: { foto34: { required: true, accept: "jpg|png|gif" } } }); Now my question is, how can i add the special validation function as a rule of the whole validation process ?   Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to get the URL of the returned resource after a AJAX call in JavaScript? I want to use this with a form, which is in "mysite.com/users/add.html". This is a Spring MVC controller. If the validation of the form fails the controller will return the "users/add" view, but if the validation is OK it will do a redirect to "mysite.com/users/index.html", using return new ModelAndView(new RedirectView("/users/index.html")); Is there a way in JavaScript to find the URL of the returned page? • Google bot .net and AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport dilemma

  Hi, i have a .net mobile web site where i use sesion state and due to nature of mobile networks/phones (not all supports session cookies) i had to use <sessionState cookieless="AutoDetect"/> It works fine but because each new session redirected with "AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1" i have a feeling that google won't like this. Here is a small sample from my server logs supportForumReadTopic.aspx id=38 80 - 66.249.71.80 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+Googlebot/2.1;++http://www.google.com/bot.html) 302 supportForumReadTopic.aspx id=38&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+Googlebot/2.1;++http://www.google.com/bot.html) 200 As you see each new hit from google will get 302 to itself. I have a genericmozilla5.browser file where i define google bot as cookie supporting browser in order to get .net not to use cookieless urls but not sure how this 302 would effect me. Any one had smilar exprience? Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks

I am putting up a small website via webs.com for me and my friends that could also be accessible via wap, i.e. mobile internet, and I want to add links to my site that downloads .jar files. I uploaded the files on my site, and links to the .jar files went fine, but I also need links for .jad files (for some mobile phones that require .jad files FIRST then .jar). I tried doing a regular link for the .jad files, but it simply displayed the content of the .jad file. It wasn't installed or downloaded. What should I do? Or am I at a wrong website? Thanks!

  This is what the Java site www.java.com says: "KVM, the virtual machine for mobile devices, is the counterpart of JVM (Java virtual machine). It is used to run applets and applications written with Java technology on mobile devices. KVM must be installed by the manufacturer. It is NOT available for download or installation by consumers". Now Android has a customized virtual machine called DVM (Dalvik Virtual Machine). Can we compare it with KVM? Wonder if we can further reprogram DVM to incorporate features of KVM to run applets on Android? Same goes for Blacberry, is there a possibility?

  I've got two models class SurveyResponse has_many :answers, :class_name => SurveyResponseAnswer.name accepts_nested_attributes_for :answers end class SurveyResponseAnswer belongs_to :survey_response validates_presence_of :answer_text end In my nested form if validation fails I get this error displayed on the screen: "answers answer text can't be blank" I've customized my attribute names somewhat successfully using rails I18n. It doesn't behave exactly how I would expect though. The yml file below doesn't affect how the attribute name is printed in error_messages_for en: activerecord: models: survey_response: answers: "Response" But if from script/console I try SurveyResponse.human_attribute_name("answers") I get the expected result of "Response". What I'd like to do is have the validation error message say: "Response answer text can't be blank". Any ideas what I need to fix?

• Wifi and 3G same time

  For my App I need Data from both, a local Network and the Internet. The local Network (Wifi) has no connection to the internet so I have to use the mobile connection (3G for Example). But whenever I connect to the local Network, 3G stopps. After asking the Samsung Service, there is no way to change that in the UI. But they couldn't tell me, if there is a programmable Interface for that. There is a mobile access point inside, so there is a way to connect a Wifi device to the Internet (which means that both, a wifi and a 3G connection is possible the same time in that way). But for my App the phone/tab has to connect to the existing Network and use the 3G for Internet. So this is my question here. Is there a way to connect to an existing Network and using 3G for Internet the same time?

  So I am using Limonade PHP which has a RESTful design which emulates PUT, POST, DELETE routes for create, update, delete. I am trying to develop some form validation which is going well. The major problem I am facing though is how to return my filtered data (which has failed validation) back to repopulate the create or edit form. How would this be done? I currently have for creating a page: /admin/page/new -> GET function /admin/page -> POST function + validate + pass, update db + fail, add errors to flash, redirect to /admin/page/mew It all falls down as I do not know how to populate the /admin/page/new with the invalid, but filtered data.

• Suggestions for designing large-scale Java webapp from the ground up

  Hi all, I'm about to start developing a large-scale system and I'm struggling with which direction to proceed. I've done plenty of Java web apps before and I have plenty of experience with servlet containers and GWT and some experience with Spring. The problem is most of my webapps have been thrown together just to be a proof of concept and what I'm struggling with is what set of frameworks to use. I need to have both a browser based application as well as a web service designed to support access from mobile devices (Android and iPhone for now). Ideally, I'd like to design this system in such a way that I don't end up rewriting all of my servlets for each client (browser and phone) although I don't mind having some small checks in there to properly format the data. In addition, although I'm the only developer now, that won't necessarily be the case down the road and I'd like to design something that scales well both with regards to traffic and number of developers (isn't just a nightmare to maintain). So where I am now is planning on using GWT to design the browser-based interface but I'm struggling with how to reuse that code with to present the interface (most likely xml) for the mobile devices. Using GWT RPC would, I think, make it relatively easy to do all of the AJAX in the browser, but might make generating xml for the mobile phones difficult. In addition, I like the idea of using something like Hibernate for persistence and Spring Security to secure the whole thing. Again, I'm not sure how well those will cooperate with GWT (I think Hibernate should be fine...) There's obviously a lot more to this than I've presented here, but I've tried to give you the 5-minute overview. I'm a bit stumped and was wondering if anybody in the community had any experience starting from this place. Does what I'm trying to do make sense? Is it realistic? I have no doubt I can make all of these frameworks speak the same language, I'm just wondering if it's worth my time to fight with them. Also, am I missing a framework that would be really beneficial? Thanks in advance and sorry for the relatively broad question... Chris

• asp.net compare validators to allow comma and dot (both!) as decimal separator

  I am using a compare validator, which validates that the entered number is a valid double and also validates it against a given value (greater than zero). I am validating money amounts. Because of the location where the app is used, the locale sets the comma as the decimal separator. The problem is that when a user enters the value using the numeric keyboard, the number gets written with the dot as decimal separator, and is rejected by the validation. I'd like to have this validation done before triggering a postback (like a customvalidator would) and accepting both separators. Any ideas? Thanks

  I understand how Non-repudiation and Integrity are achieved with Digital Signatures, but it's the Authentication that I don't grasp yet. I'm developing a Client-Server application in C#, that should be capable of Authentication with Digital Certificates and Digital Signatures. I know how to check the validity and integrity of a Signature (with SignedCms.CheckSignature()), but how does this authenticates any of the parts involved? For example: The client asks the Server for a Digital Signature, The client receives the signature and validates it, If the validation succeeds, continue. The client could be a victim of a man-in-the middle attack and receive a valid signature in step 2. The validation would succeed, but the client wouldn't be talking to the right server. What am I missing?

• ASP.NET MVC Page - Viewstate for Confirm email field is getting erased on Registration Page if valid

  Hi I have a Registaration page with the following fields Email, Confirm Email, Password and Confrim Password. On Register Button click and post the model to the server, the Model validates and if that Email is already Registered, it displays the Validation Error Message "User already Exists. Please Login or Register with a different email ID". While we are displaying this validation error message, I am loosing the value of "Confirm Email" field. So that the user has to reenter again and I want to avoid this. Here I don't have confirm_Email field in my Model. Is there something special that has to be done to remain Confirm Email value on the Page even in case of Validation failure? Appreciate your responses.
