    Hi, While web development/design, I found coding it self is not enough to develop an attractive website so i have urge to learn photoshop.. i want to know what can be the best way to learn photoshop (preferably Photoshop CS4 Extended) mainly for website design. I experienced web tutorials are not enough for effectively learning computer languages, but not sure about photoshop coz it is a different job.. please recommend me a book / web tutorial for learning Photoshop.

  • Bullet physics engine, how to freeze an object?

    Using Bullet 2.76 I'm trying to freeze an object (rigid body) so that it instantly stops moving, but still responds to collisions. I tried setting it's activation state to DISABLE_SIMULATION, but then it's virtually nonexistent to other objects. Furthermore, if objects "collide" with it when it's disabled, strange things begin to happen (object's falling through static bodies, etc.) I suppose, temporarily converting it to a static rigid body could work, but is there an existing "native" way to achieve this on Bullet's side? Edit: Is there a way to turn off gravity for a specific object?

  • Check for live Data Source Name Before proceeding

    Would it be ok to get a CF app to check for a valid database before proceeding to process that request? This is because there may be instances where the database server may be down or being upgraded, hence an error comes when a db dependant request is made. If there is no connection to the db server, the user can be safely redirected to a safe page. Or can cfcatch work? How can this check be done? Thank you.

At compile time we use QT *.LIB files We have a result of our compilation is an *.EXE file, we wrap into an installer and ship to clients. This *.EXE files depends on *.DLL files in QT. at runtime the *.DLL files of QT are used My questions are: 1) is can I legally bundle the QT *.dll files in my installer? 2) can I legally bundle my final *.EXE files even if it's compilation/linkage depends on QT *.LIB files Thank you

    Hi there, I am trying to bind a Listbox ItemSource to a collection of multiple Lists. i.e. List PersonCollection List Person List Collection Now I need to show items from both of these list. In wpf you could use HierarchicalDataTemplate i believe, but not sure how I can do it in windows phone 7. Tried with Blend and it generates the following data template. <DataTemplate x:Key="PersonDataTemplate"> <Grid> <StackPanel Margin="0,0,1,0" Orientation="Vertical" VerticalAlignment="Top"> <TextBlock Margin="0,0,1,0" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding Person[0].Name}" d:LayoutOverrides="Width"/> <TextBlock Margin="0,0,1,0" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding Collection[0].Total}" d:LayoutOverrides="Width"/> </StackPanel> </Grid> </DataTemplate> Is there another way I can do this? I have tried to set the DataContext of Textbox in DataTemplate to individual arrays but did not seem to work. Cant find anything similar on the net apart from the confirmation that HierarchicalDataTemplate is not supported in Windows Phone 7. I have other ways to do but none elegant.. Thanks in advance.   • Changing Clickonce source folder

    We copy our production build in a separate folder using post-build events, and replace the app.config file with our production app.config. However Clickonce reads the files in bin\Release folder. I have also tried copying all files from our custom build location to bin\Release folder in the post-build event, but app.config is still overridden (I guess clickonce re-builds the project into bin\Release). Is it possible to tell Clickonce to read from our custom folder? Or, if that's not the right way to go, how do you handle this kind of situation?

After unzipping, this is the structure of the files: executable_file config.mk doc include lib Makefile sources I have only worked with "usual" Makefile projects. But I do not undersatnd the meaning of config.mk here. Do you know which kind of "build" structure (what is the right name for this concept?) is it, and where can i find more information about this? I need to modify it, so it compiles in another hardware, so I do not know where I sohuld work on. Thanks

  • Source control issue with deploying versions

    Hi all, we have this discussion about how to deploy to production revisions that are UAT closed without revisions with UAT not-closed status. We are using SVN and we figured out that we are not able to just take revisions without prior-revisions on the same file made. Let me explain it on this example: we have 3 revisions made on same file: r1: UAT closed (ready to deploy) r2: UAT not-closed (not ready) r3: UAT closed (ready to deploy) now I want to deploy only my changes for which the UAT is closed (e.g. r1 and r3). In SVN this is not possible because r3 contains also r2 changes.. How do you made this to work? Maybe branching? Or just take r1 and wait until r2 is UAT closed? thanks

    Hi, I'm working on a small academic research about extremely long and complicated functions in the Linux kernel. I'm trying to figure out if there is a good reason to write 600 or 800 lines-long functions. For that purpose, I would like to find a tool that can extract a function from a .c file, so I can run some automated tests on the function. For example, If I have the function cifs_parse_mount_options() within the file connect.c, I'm seeking a solution that would roughly work like: extract /fs/cifs/connect.c cifs_parse_mount_options and return the 523 lines of code(!) of the function, from the opening braces to the closing braces. Of course, any way of manipulating existing software packages like gcc to do that, would be most helpful too. If you're part of the etherpad open source community, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for questions tagged 'etherpad' just in case this catches on! My actual question, which assumes you have etherpad installed on your own server: First, here's a query to view recently edited pads: SELECT id,lastWriteTime,creationTime,headRev FROM PAD_SQLMETA ORDER BY lastWriteTime, headRev; Or, if you want to run it from a unix prompt: mysql -u root -pPASSWD etherpad -e "select id,lastWriteTime,creationTime,headRev from PAD_SQLMETA order by lastWriteTime, headRev" That's handy, however lastWriteTime actually gets updated every time someone so much as views a pad in their browser. I'd rather sort the pads by when they were actually last edited. There's probably a fancy SQL query involving a join with another table that would show actual last edit time. Does anyone know what that is? Alternatively, you could have a script that notices when headRev changes but that doesn't seem like the cleanest way to do it.
