  • Building an XML editor in java and RichFaces

    Hello I'm building an XML editor using the above technologies. In essence, I want to read in a whole XML file to a java object, and refer using this object to each element in the XML node tree (grouped into entries) to display the content locked, have separate padlocks for the user to click to 'unlock' an entry allow overwriting of the data, and to submit this entry. 'Add entry', 'Duplicate entry', 'Delete entry' are also functions I'd like to add. I already use dom4j and XPath to access areas of the XML file so some of the work in theory is already done. Given the above, I was going to use these two together with inplaceInputs to allow the user to edit the XML and JSF validators to check the data coming in. Is this the best way to approach this problem, or is there a more straightforward route than XPathing a whole record? I started looking at jaxb but I'm new at java and jsf but I've got the feeling I won't be by the end.. Thanks

    Hi all, I tried sample example given at this link - Collection View Programming Guide It is simple and it worked. Considering it as a reference I tried a simple application which will show a collection view of web views with some web page displayed over each web view. The model class has two properties: NSString *pageName, and NSURL *pageURL. I then followed each and every step written in tutorial above with required modifications but I was caught in the step - How to bind web view to collection view item? In binding tab it shows three possibilities : Editable, Hidden, Tool tip but none of these is working. Can anyone suggest me way to accomplish my requirement? Thanks, Miraaj

    I have an Android application that uses kSoap in connecting to my web services. This particular one is passing in a string value as a parameter, then my web service will use that parameter to query my database via a stored procedure. Problem is, I know how to pass the parameter from android, but I don't know how to retrieve it in my .Net(vb) web service and use it. Anyone have any code examples or a link to a tutorial to help me out? Thanks!

  • Connecting to a WSE 3.0 Web Service From a WCF Client

    I'm having difficulty connecting to a 3rd party WSE 3.0 web service from a WCF client. I have implemented the custom binding class as indicated in this KB article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms734745.aspx The problem seems to have to do with the security assertion used by the web service - UsernameOverTransport. When I attempt to call a method, I get the following exception: System.InvalidOperationException: The 'WseHttpBinding'.'[namespace]' binding for the 'MyWebServiceSoap'.'[namespace]' contract is configured with an authentication mode that requires transport level integrity and confidentiality. However the transport cannot provide integrity and confidentiality.. It is expecting a username, password, and CN number. In the example code supplied to us by the vendor, these credentials are bundled in a Microsoft.Web.Services3.Security.Tokens.UsernameToken. Here's the example supplied by the vendor: MyWebServiceWse proxy = new MyWebServiceWse(); UsernameToken token = new UsernameToken("Username", "password", PasswordOption.SendPlainText); token.Id = "<supplied CN Number>"; proxy.SetClientCredential(token); proxy.SetPolicy(new Policy(new UsernameOverTransportAssertion(), new RequireActionHeaderAssertion())); MyObject mo = proxy.MyMethod(); This works fine from a 2.0 app w/ WSE 3.0 installed.     Hi. I am maintaining some Java code that I am currently converting to C#. The Java code is doing this: sendString(somedata + '\000'); And in C# I am trying to do the same: sendString(somedata + '\000'); But on the '\000' VS2010 tells me that "Too many characters in character literal". How can I use '\000' in C#? I have tried to find out what the character is, but it seems to be " " or some kind of newline-character. Do you know anything about the issue? Thanks!

    Is there a way to do automatic implicit type conversion in Java? For example, say I have two types, 'FooSet' and 'BarSet' which both are representations of a Set. It is easy to convert between the types, such that I have written two utility methods: /** Given a BarSet, returns a FooSet */ public FooSet barTOfoo(BarSet input) { /* ... */ } /** Given a FooSet, returns a BarSet */ public BarSet fooTObar(FooSet input) { /* ... */ } Now say there's a method like this that I want to call: public void doSomething(FooSet data) { /* .. */ } But all I have is a BarSet myBarSet...it means extra typing, like: doSomething(barTOfoo(myBarSet)); Is there a way to tell the compiler that certain types can automatically be cast to other types? I know this is possible in C++ with overloading, but I can't find a way in Java. I want to just be able to type: doSomething(myBarSet); And the compiler knows to automatically call barTOfoo()

    Hello, I am trying to write a simple internal app with some simple authentication. I'm also trying to make this quick and learn about the forms authentication via web.config. So i have my authentication working if I hard code my 'user name' and 'password' into C# code and do a simple conditional. However, I'm having a tough time storing the a user/pass to be checked against in the web.config file.     I am having trouble understanding the following article: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-jtp01255.html Under, Generics are not covariant the author states, Because ln is a List, adding a Float to it seems perfectly legal. But if ln were aliased with li, then it would break the type-safety promise implicit in the definition of li -- that it is a list of integers, which is why generic types cannot be covariant. I can't understand the part where it says "if ln were aliased with li". What does the author means by alias?(reference?). The code snippet above the quoted line seems to illustrate WHAT is illegal in java and not WHY. It would be very helpful to me if somebody could explain with an example. Thanks in advance.

You can download it (free and legal) from the authors page (Neil Bartlett): OSGi Book On page 9 and 10 are this pictures: It seems like there is the possibility that our class "Foo" won't use the class "Bar" of foobar.jar, but instead class "Bar" from naughty.jar. Because of the flat and global structure of the Java classpath this could be, but as far as I know you would define a package from where you want to import a certain class: import foobar.Bar This should prevent loading the wrong class, shouldn't it? Of course assuming that the package is called "foobar".

    I'm getting a NullPointerException in a Nokia S40. I want to know what is causing this exception. The device shows: NullPointerException java/lang/NullPointerException This error only occurs in the device, running in the emulator the application works fine. I use microlog to debug my application. But the application works fine if the log is enabled. Is there a way to get the stack trace when I get this NullPointerException? I don't need all details like the line number just which method cause this exception. UPDATE: I installed the same application in another Nokia S40 and the same error didn't occur. I think when I enabled the log it made the thread slower and helper.doStuff() was called when I expected it to be called.

The structure of the function calling the JSP is as follows: function MIN_JS(pcl_js in clob) return clob as language java name 'JSMin.min(oracle.sql.CLOB) return oracle.sql.CLOB'; In the actual JSP, I have the following: import oracle.sql.CLOB; public class JSMin { ... public static min(CLOB js) { ... } The problem I'm having is that whenever I pass a clob to JS_MIN, it is always interpreted as null inside the JSP. I've checked the clob before calling JS_MIN annd it definitely has contents. Any ideas as to what I'm missing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

This works fine when there is no security on the .NET web service. However, we would like to use sys.utl_http or sys.utl_dbws to call a .NET web service with Kerberos or NTLM authentication. We're currently struggling with this. Any hints on how to solve it?
