    After about 15 minutes, a Norton Ghost 14 backup fails with Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. The source computer is a P4 laptop running Windows XP SP3. The target computer is a Core2 Quad desktop running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. It does not help to disable Norton 360 on the source computer or Norton Antivirus 2008 on the target computer. The Event Viewer consistently shows the same two VSS-related errors after Norton Ghost starts but before it fails. It makes no difference if the VSS service is started or stopped. The VSS errors do not appear elsewhere in the event log, only after Ghost starts. The MSS event messages, however, are quite common, appearing throughout the log, and they may have nothing to do with the problem. I know that you can target a single application, but only one that is already running. I want to detect all readfile-events an application is trying to do, ever since it is started. I don't want to miss out on any event. How do you achieve this?

    Hi, I am looking for a way to exclude specific file types from being logged in the security audits. I have a folder being audited for deletion events and the majority of logged events are .tmp files (such as a temp Word file that is automatically deleted when the app is closed) which I do not care about. Would anyone know of a way to exclude these types of files from being logged? Thanks in advance for any comments.

    Hello, I have a list of date/timestamps, and I would like to plot these to a chart in Excel. What I'm looking for is a chart that shows "events per hour" or something similar. Can this be done easily if I just have one column of data (the list of timestamps)? I'm using excel 2007 and looking at two data sets. One is 56k events and the other 750, both over the span of a few days.

    (This is a problem with ssh, not gitolite) I've configured gitolite on my home server (ubuntu 12.04 server, open-ssh). I want an special identityfile to administer the repositories, so I need to access throught ssh to my own host ussing two different identity keys. This is the content of my .ssh/config file: Host gitadmin.gammu.com User git IdentityFile /home/alvaro/.ssh/id_gitolite_mantra Host git.gammu.com User git IdentityFile /home/alvaro/.ssh/id_alvaro_mantra This is the content of my hosts file: # Git 127.0.0.1 gitadmin.gammu.com 127.0.0.1 git.gammu.com So I should be able to communicate with gitolite this way to access with the "normal" account: $ssh git.gammu.com and this way to access with the administrative account: $ssh gitadmin.gammu.com When I try to access with the normal account, all is ok: alvaro@mantra:~/.ssh$ ssh git.gammu.com PTY allocation request failed on channel 0 hello alvaro, this is gitolite 2.2-1 (Debian) running on git 1.7.9.5 the gitolite config gives you the following access: @R_ @W_ testing Connection to git.gammu.com closed.     Hi, I am using CodeIgniter's form helper and form validation library to build my forms. I'm having trouble making the dropdown 'sticky' and also finding appropriate validation rules. This is how I'm populating the drodown: foreach($events as $event){ $options[$event->event_title] = $event->event_title; } $firstItem = '<option>Please select one...</option>'; echo form_dropdown('events', $options, '', $firstItem); This is building the options from events stored in the database. The form looks fine and is populating tall the fields correctly. Hwoever, when I come to submit the form, the dropdown isn't holding onto the value selected? Also, how should I validate it, I want to make it required but I also want to make sure that I dont except the first option in the dropdown 'Please select one...' Thanks in advance. Cheers, Gaz

  • App.Config Ignored After Pre-Build Event

    I have a solution with several projects and several developers, each with their own environment (of course). To manage connection strings between each environment, I have created several app.config files for each environment: app.config.dev, app.config.qa, etc. The pre-build event simply copies the app.config.$(ConfigurationName) to app.config. This pre-build event is done for each project in the solution, and the config string is included in each (including the test project). When I use the pre-build events to manage the app.config files, the connection string cannot be found. I can get the tests to run fine by 2 methods: 1. Do not use the pre-build events to manage the app.config file selection, and do it myself or 2. If I check out app.config and make it writable, then the pre-build events work just fine. We are using Visual Studio 2008. I'm down to my last grey hair here, any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    I am confused about the iPhone responder chain. Specifically, in the iPhone event handling guide http://developer.apple.com/iPhone/library/documentation/iPhone/Conceptual/iPhoneOSProgrammingGuide/EventHandling/EventHandling.html, we have the following: The first responder is the responder object in an application (usually a UIView object) that is designated to be the first recipient of events other than touch events. But UIView is a subclass of UIResponder. And the UIResponder class reference says this: - (BOOL)canBecomeFirstResponder Return Value YES if the receiver can become the first responder, NO otherwise. Discussion Returns NO by default. If a responder object returns YES from this method, it becomes the first responder and can receive touch events and action messages. Subclasses must override this method to be able to become first responder. I am confused by the apparent contradiction. Can anyone clear it up for me? For what it's worth, I did set up a simple view-based application, and call canBecomeFirstResponder and isFirstResponder on its view. Both returned NO.

    Hello Currently I have an entity named "Events" in a CoreData app. "Events" has one string property named "eventName". In the -(void)viewDidLoad I am trying to Fetch all the "Events" objects and load their "eventName" by alphabetical order into a UIPickerView. The ultimate end goal is through the use of a textField, buttons and the pickerView being add new objects in and remove unwanted objects out. Basically turning the UIPickerView into a UITableView. Currently I am able to save objects to the CoreData store, but am not able to pull them/their properties out into the UIPickerView. I am willing and able to share the project source code to anyone who wants it, or is willing to look at it to help out. thanks Chris

I want to be able to bind my WinForm's control property (Button.Enabled) to a custom DependencyProperty of the hosted WPF user control (SearchResults.IsAccountSelected). Is it possible to bind a System.Windows.Forms.Binding to a property managed by a DependencyProperty? Also, since I know the System.Windows.Forms.Binding watches for INotifyPropertyChanged.PropertyChanged events - will a property backed by a DependencyProperty automatically fire these events or will I have to implement and manage the sending of PropertyChanged events manually?

    I created a movable panel in WinForms. I use a ToolStrip as a titlebar in the panel. I'll use the ToolStrip to move the panel as well as indicating the panel is "active" or not. So when the panel is active, I want to change the ToolStrip's BackColor to Red. The idea is capturing ToolStrip's Enter/Leave event to change the color, but it seems those events are never fired. Are those events truly never fired? Should I capture other events?

  • RenderAction not finding action method in current controller in current area

    I'm creating an ASP.NET MVC 2 (RTM) project that uses areas. The Index action of the Home controller of one area needs to use RenderAction to generate a sub-section of the page. The action called is also defined in the same Home controller. So the call should just be: <% Html.RenderAction("List") %> However, I get an exception: A public action method 'List' was not found on controller 'RareBridge.Web.Areas.Events.Controllers.HomeController'. Note that I'm not in the "Events" area! I'm in a completely different area. If I remove the "Events" home controller, then the exception still occurs but names a different controller (still not the one I want it to call). I've also tried providing the controller name and area to the RenderAction method, but the same exception occurs. What is going on here? BTW: I am using Autofac as my IoC container

  • Generic Http Module

    The problem I am trying to make a generic http module in asp.net C# for handling roles defined by an enum which i want to be able to change by a generic parameter. This will make it possible to use the generic module with any kind of enum defined for each project. The module hooks into the Authenticate event of the FormsAuthenticationModule, and is called on each request to the website. The module exposes public events which could be defined in the global.asax. But i cant seem to figure out how to make the generic http module work like a non generic module. There is 3 main problems. I cant register the generic http module in the web.config like any other module as i cant specify the generic parameter, or is possible somehow ? The way to solve that as far as i can figure out is to create a non-generic http module that intializes the generic HttpModule (the generic parameter is defined in a custom section for the module in the web.config). But that introduces the next problem. I cant find out how to make the public events exposed by the generic module available to hook into through the global.asax as you would normally do with a non-generic module by just making a public method with the name like ModuleClassName_PublicEventName. The init() method on the http module gets an reference to the HttpApplication object created in the global.asax. I dont know if it somehow could be possible with reflection to search for the methods and if they are defined in the global.asax (HttpApplication super class) hook them up with the correct event handler ? or if any methods on the HttpApplication object can be used? How would i store and later get a reference to the generic module created in the non-generic module ? I can get the non-generic module with HttpContext.Current.ApplicationInstance.Modules.Get("TheModule"); but is there any way i can store a reference to the generic module in the non-generic module (cant figure out how it should be possible), or store it somewhere else so i can always get it? If I can get a reference to the generic module from the global.asax etc. the events mentioned in nr. 2 can be manually wired to the methods. Thoughts and other possible solutions Instead of registering the module in the web.config it can be manually initialized by overridding the Init method of the HttpApplication and calling the Init method on the module. But that will introduce some new problems. The module will no longer be added to the the ModulesCollection. So I will need to store a reference somewhere else. This could be done with a property in the global.asax, and by implementing an interface, or by creating an generic abstract base type inheriting from HttpApplication, that the global.asax could inherit from. In the generic abstract base type i could also override the init method. It will still not automatically hook up methods in the global.asax with events in the generic module. If it is possible with reflection to search for defined methods in the super type of the HttpApplication it could be automatically done that way. But i can wire the methods in the global.asax with the events in the generic module manually either in the Init method or anywhere else by getting reference to the generic module. It doesnst really need to implement the IHttpModule interface if i choose to manually initalize the generic module. I could just aswell move all the code to the abstract base type inheriting from the HttpApplication. I would prefer to register the module simply by defining it in the web.config as it will be the easiest and most natural / logical solution. Also it would be great if it could be kept as a HttpModule instead of having to define a an abstract base type inheriting from HttpApplication, else it will be more thighed up and not as loose and plugable as i wanted it to be (but maybe it is not possible). Another alternative would be to make it all static. As far as i can figure out i would have to somehow make sure that only one method can be added to the public static events, so it wont add a reference each time a new instance of the global.asax is created. I simply cant find out what is the best solution. I have been messing around with this and thinking about it for days now. Maybe there is an option that i havent thought of ? Hope anyone out there can help me.

  • iPhone: How to detect if an EKEvent instance can be modified?

    While working with the EventKit on iPhone I noticed that some events can exist which cannot be modified. Examples I encountered so far are birthdays and events synced with CalDAV. When you view the event's details in the standard built-in calendar app on iPhone the "Edit" button in the top-right corner is not visible in these cases, where it would be visible when viewing "normal" events. I've searched everywhere, read all documentation there is but I simply can't find anything that tells me how to detect this behavior! I can only detect it afterwards: edit an event's title save it to the event store check the event's title, if it has not changed it is not editable! I am looking for a way that I can detect the non-editable behavior of an event beforehand. I know this is possible because I've seen other calendar apps implement this correctly.

  • Unresponsive form instance when instantiating form gets minimized

    There's form A is the main form that gets hidden and is accessible via NotifyIcon's context menu. Form A instantiates form B via NotifyIcon's context menu also. Form B reacts to mouse events, etc. No problem there. Form B instantiates form C. Form C reacts to mouse events, etc. No problem here as well, but when form B gets minimized, form C no longer reacts to mouse events (eg. can no longer move, button clicks do not respond). Any idea why form C behaves like this in relation to form B getting minimized. I also tried to instantiate form C through form A (eg. form B calling a method in form A to instantiate form C) but the same thing happens. Is there any way to make form C respond even w/ form B (initiator) minimized?
