• Special characters incongruence

  Hello I'm building a Spring MVC web application that runs on Tomcat 6.0.20 and JDK 1.6.0_19. When I send some special characters through an HTML form some of them are stored as question marks ? For example these symbols are stored correctly: €, á, é, í, ‰, etc But some symbols are replaced with ? like: £, ?, ? MySQL tables charset is utf-8. My jsp also use utf-8 <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8" %> I have included org.springframework.web.filter.CharacterEncodingFilter in web.xml as suggested here When I debug the POST request when sending 3 characters €a£ with firebug I get: %E2%82%ACa%E2%82%A4 which is correct since E2 82 AC is the code for € and E2 82 A4 is the code for £ but £ is stored as ? in the database. When I save £ directly into the database it is displayed correctly in the webpage. How can I fix this?

So we set the id fields manually. phone.order_id = phone.purchaseOrderPosition.order_id phone.order_position_id = phone.purchaseOrderPosition.order_position_id return phone Everything works fine except that on a session.flush() executed later in the application SQLAlchemy tries to write the created Phone object to the database (which fortunatly doesn't succeed, because phone.state is longer than the data type allows), which breaks the function which issues the flush.   I'm currently using jquery's ajax feature or whatever they call it. To load data from mysql database. Its working fine, but one of the built in features of this one is to load all the data which is on the database when you press on backspace and there's no character left on the text box. Here's my query: SELECT * FROM prod_table WHERE QTYHAND>0 AND PRODUCT LIKE '$prod%' OR P_DESC LIKE '$desc%' OR CATEGORY LIKE '$cat%' As you can see I only want to load the products which has greater than 0 quantity on hand.   In the recent iOS 4.2 update, Apple introduced a nice animation for creating one level directories. I am trying to figure out how to implement a similar animation in my project. I would deeply appreciate it if anyone could give me any pointers to do this efficiently. From my investigation, I believe this animation or effect could be done very efficiently using Core Image which would allow me to write a custom filter. Unfortunately, Core Image is not available in iPhone. So how can do it? I read a blog post that explained a core animation scheme to create an iPad flip clock. The problem I have is similar but has important differences. Besides, I not excited about saving the subimage combinations, which I believe can cause a memory issue. Please enlighten me on the possible ways of doing this animation. I am relatively new to iOS programming, so I might have missed obvious ways of doing this animation or effect.

  I've created a dataset that contains 2 tables: Users (userID, UserName, other user details) Emails (Id, UserId, UserEmail) I populate the dataset using 2 DataAdapters (one for each table) I have a listbox, a few textboxes and a grid. listbox gets all the users, the few textboxs displays the user details when picked in the list box (this is easy b/c they are both bound to the same table). the grid should display the selected user's email addresses. How do I do it using binding ? is it possible or should I catch the selection change event and filter the grid "manually" (currently the grid displays all the emails in the tables).

So, I need to get Qtoolbutton, that is flat and rendered as icon, and obtain the border when hovered by mouse or pressed. And maybe I'd add some almost transparent background on hover too.   Git's default cleanup of strip removes all lines starting with a # character. Unfortunately, the Trac engine's wiki formatter uses hashes in the beginning of a code block to denote the syntax type. Additionally any code added verbatim might include hashes as they are a common comment prefix; Perl comes to mind. In the following example the comments all get destroyed by git's cleanup mode. Example: {{{ #!/usr/bin/perl use strict; # say hi to the user. print "hello world\n"; }}} I'd like to use a custom filter that removes all lines beginning with a hash from the bottom of the file upwards. Leaving those lines that being with a hash that are embedded in the commit message I wrote alone. Where or how can I specify this in git? Note, creating a sed or perl script to perform the operation is not a problem, just knowing where to hook it into git is the question.

I've created my generic view which so far displays all content of that type, but I'm struggling with linking this to content only posted in groups your a member of.   The baidu spider seems to be adding ¤ to end of some crawled urls (it seems that it happens with urls containing single unicode character as the last character) The baidu-requested url looks like this: site.com/abc/ä¤ while site.com/abc/ä is the valid url and as linked from many places on my site. The internal problem is that a different route is matched for this kind of url and an unhandled exception occurs. I would not like to lose baidu because of too many 500 errors on the site. I would like to change the requested URL to a different URL by removing the added character before any ASP.NET MVC processing of the request starts. Can I write a request filter/http module or something similar in ASP.NET MVC to remove the trailing '¤' from the urls? I would not like to alter my routes to counter-hack this behavior.

  Hi I am doing some work on an application that uses an existing schema that cannot be altered. Whilst writing my NHibernate mappings I encountered a strange many-to-many relationship. The relationship is defined in the standard way as in this question with the addition of a boolean flag on the association table that signifies if the relationship is legal. This seems somewhat redundant but as I say, cannot be changed. Is it possible to define this relationship in Nhibernate without resorting to using a third class to represent the association? Perhaps by applying a filter? Many thanks.

  I have a database with PermitHolders (PermitNum = PK) and DetailedFacilities of each Permit Holder. In the tblPermitDetails table there are 2 columns PermitNum (foreign Key) FacilityID (integer Foreign Key Lookup to Facility table). A permitee can have 1 - 29 items on their permit, e.i. Permit 50 can have a Boat Dock (FacID 4), a Paved walkway (FacID 17) a Retaining Wall (FacID 20) etc. I need an SQL filter/display whatever, ALL PERMIT #s that have ONLY FacIDs 19, 20, or 28, NOT ones that have those plus "x" others,....just that subset. I've worked on this for 4 days, would someone PLEASE help me? I HAVE posted to other BB but have not received any helpful suggestions.

• MVC for a desktop application, connection a view/controller pair with another one

  Hello. I've had mostly experience with "server-side" mvc frameworks very popular in different languages like ASP.NET MVC or Zend Framework for php, Spring for Java etc. Some of them are also possible to use for desktop applications development but I never tried that. I fully understand that design patterns should not limit implementation, they should generally provide ideas and common rules that can be differently implemented. Now I'm playing with one of those mvc frameworks for usual Desktop Applications development (it does not have many tutorials or a decent quickstart) and I have some questions regarding to the mvc paradigm. Here is one of them: What are common ways to link different views / controllers? If I click a button, special controller for that button dispatches the event that is generated, does something with the model, changes view state. But what if I need to interact with another view? Like, when I click on a button, it changes a model, but also I need to open another window or change state of another window (hiding a button on another window let's say...), without changing actually the model. What are common ways here to address this? Should my first controller generate an event for the second controller (or second view)? Or should the second controller be handling events from first view? Some links or examples for any languages/frameworks would be really helpful, thanks!

  I have a setup where my nginx is in front with apache+PHP behind. My PHP application cache some page in memcache which are accessed by nginx directly except some dynamic part which are build using SSI in Nginx. The first problem I had was nginx didnt try to use memcache for ssi URI. <!--# include virtual="/myuser" --> So I figured that if I force it to use a full URL, it would do it. <!--# include virtual="http://www.example.com/myuser" --> But in logs file (both nginx and apache) I can see that a slash has been added at the beginning of the url http ssi filter "/http://www.example.com/myuser" In the source code of the SSI module I see a PREFIX that seems to be added, but I can really tell if I can disable it. Anybody got this issue? Nginx version : 0.7.62 on Ubuntu Karmic 64bits Thanks a lot
