  • Unstyled web page in IE6. Not FOUC

    I have a very interesting issue with one of the websites I created. It renders fine in Safari, Chrome, Opera, FF, IE7&8 but IE6 does not seem to recognize my stylesheet. I'm not using @import for loading, so it's not a case a FOUC. The website is using Wordpress but never had an issue like this before with WP. I might be missing out on something stupid here, can find the problem though. Any help, suggestion would be very much appreciated. The website is: http://www.magashegyiturak.ro

  • Is there a way to get a mobile Safari WebApp to "forget" its state?

    I have a nascent bridge scoring app that is meant to be stored locally on an iPod touch/iPhone (iPad? Would probably be fugly...) So far so good, got a custom icon rolling and basic JS navigation laid out, but my problem is that it retains its state when I quit the app. Is there a simple magic Apple meta tag for this? Or is it achieved with javascript? Thanks for any insight.

  • Checking for uppercase/lowercase/numbers with Jquery

    Either I'm being really retarded here or its just the lack of sleep but why doesn't this work? If I use the "or" operator it works for each separate test but as soon as it change it to the "and" operator it stops working. I'm trying to test the password input of a form to see if its contains lowercase, uppercase and at least 1 number of symbol.   • How do I control Google Search Results display properties?

    I am putting the finishing touches on a customized Google Search for a site and need a little assistance tweaking the header on the results page. I was able to manage the spacing of the results content with: #results4 { width: 620px; padding: 20px; } However you will notice that the top row of information Results 1 - 10 for search... runs off the right side of the content area. I tried using the following code, but it didn't help: .t td { align:left; } I also tried margin-right and padding but those didn't work either. what is the best way to get that content to move over into the content area? thanks.

  • Keep div:hover open when changing nested select box

    This is an IE-only problem. .toolTip becomes visible when it's parent element is :hovered over. Inside of .toolTip is a select box. When the user opens the select box to make a selection, the parent element is being "un-hovered", if you will. To put it another way, when I try to select something from the dropdown, the whole thing hides itself again. I'm sure it has something to do with the way IE interprets the stylesheet, but I don't know what or where.     Hi, So i have a normal list <ul class="test"> <li><span><a href="">Gemeente</a><span></span></span></li> <li><span><a href="">Openingsuren</a><span></span></span></li> <li><span><a href="">Gezondheid</a><span></span></span></li> </ul> 1: The second <span> is a 100x100 block background image. 2: The list is a normal bulleted list, not floated 3: The <ul> has position:relative, the <li> has not 4: The second <span> is set to position:absolute; top:0px; left:0px; The problem The second <span> gets positioned relative to the <li> dsf not the <ul>. Why is that?

  • Moving Multiple Divs With Same Class Inside Parent

    So, My website is hosted on enjin.com and when you give users a tag with an image it appears on the forums under their name, however it's a vertical list with the tag names. I want to organize it so all of the tag images appear on one line and all of the tag names appear on a horizontal list below it. They use div tags somewhat like this <div class="tag"> <div class="tag-image"></div> <!-- If the tag lacks an image this is excluded --> <div class="tag-text">Tag Name</div> <!-- If you want the name to be hidden this is excluded --> </div> They then pretty much repeat this for every tag. Somewhat the same thing is used for forum posts too. So, I want to move all the tag-image divs together on a single line and all of the tag-text divs down and give each it's own line. I only want to move them within their parent element (to avoid images/tags from one forum user from going to another). I know how to append things with jquery and have googled how to move elements around, but I'm afraid that they're all going to end up together under another user's avatar.

  • jQuery Dialog open hides background content in IE7

    Hey all, I'm working on an application where the page layout is essentially a bunch of absolutely positioned containers. There is a header, sidebar and content area. The content area has its own header and footer which are fixed on the screen. The main part of the content area scrolls but nothing else does. So, we are using jQuery dialog for popup boxes and in IE7 with this new layout when i open a dialog the rest of my content in the background vanishes. I'm left with the page header and the footer of the content area and that's it. In Firefox and believe it or not IE6 it works fine. We are using ie7.js in ie6 though to make things not suck. Anyone have any clue why opening a dialog in jquery would screw up absolute positioning and make stuff vanish?

  • How can I center something if I don't know ahead of time what the width is?

    I am trying to center a paragraph tag with some text in it within a div, but I can't seem to center it using margin: 0 auto without having to specify a fixed width for the paragraph. I don't want to specify a fixed width, because I will have dynamic text coming into the paragraph tag and it will always be a different width based on how much text it is. Does anyone know how I can center the paragraph tag within the div without having to specify a fixed width for the paragraph or without using tables?

  • What to do with a big image that's slowing website loading down significantly

    Hi I'm working on a website that's already been designed by someone else. The designer has used a big image (900x700 100KB) which contains a big logo right across the top, then the background for two columns. This image loads every time a page is loaded as it forms the basis for the website. What should I do with it to improve loading time? I'm considering splitting it up into two or more images, especially the logo on the top. Does splitting up images like that decrease loading time in any significant way? Thanks -edit: Also, all the images are .jpg, would changing this to .gif or .png help anything?

    I have a div which wraps a number of images that are generated dynamically. I don't know how high the list of images is. My problem is the div that contains the dynamically generated images doesn't behave like it is housing any content - I want it to extend to the height of the list of images. Each image is itself wrapped in a div. This is the wrapper div: .block { padding:10px; margin-top:10px; height:auto; background-color:#f9f9f9; } This is the markup dynamically generated for (one of) the images: <div class="block"> <div style="float: left; padding: 2px 2px 2px 2px;"><IMG SRC="45.jpg" BORDER="0"/></div> .....   • Style Only Underline

    I have a header that is underlined using text-decoration: underline; The only problem is the line is too thin. I would like to make only the underline thicker. I have considered using border-bottom to do this but the border stretches the full width of the container and the text is centered. Doesn't work. I do not think this is possible and I am ready for the crisicm but it never hurts to ask. Never know what solutions one may come up with.

  • Proper way to use multiple stylesheets...so it WORKS?

    I am making a site where I need to have styles separated for layout, colors and typography. So basically I took my main style sheet and just copied it 3 times, and in removed everything but coloring from one, everything but type related in another and etc. But when I link to them now there must be some cascade issue or something, because a lot of the type stuff is not being applied. Is there a proper way to do this?
