• Xcode puts Default.png in my plist as an Icon file when I assign a Launch Image

  When I set a Launch Image, Xcode creates a copy as Default.png and creates an entry in my plist in Icon Files (IOS 5) / Primary Icon / Icon Items -- Item 1 : Default.png Item 0 : MyIcon.png is the app icon which I have already placed through the Target. The reason this is a problem is that the launch image then takes precedence over the actual icon and as a result, it shows as the primary icon instead of my actual icon image. Why is Xcode doing this? Can I safely delete the Default.png entry from my .plist? (this seems to fix the problem) Do I need to copy Default.png somewhere else? Thanks!

• Why are some C#4 features allowed even when targeting 3.5?

  We upgraded to VS 2010, but we haven't yet upgraded to .NET 4.0. All of our projects are still explicitly targeting 3.5. Today, a developer checked in code that looked like this: delegate T Generator<out T>(); As far as I know, "in T" and "out T" are C# 4.0 features. According to our build server, which doesn't have .NET 4.0 installed on it, I'm right. The check-in broke the build. But, why the heck does it build on his machine? Why is VS just ignoring the target framework for the project? Other C# 4.0 features, like the dynamic keyword, do not build on the developer's machine.

  Im´trying to submit a form without refreshing the page, but I´m having a problem. When I click submit the page refreshes and anothing gets posted. Here is the code, what am I doing wrong?   I need little help with transferring data from variables, arrays, lists to my SQL Server. Im not bad in SQL, but im not familiar with DataSet, DataTable objects. My data is now stored in list of strings (List). Every string in that list looks similar to this: QWERTY,19920604,0.91,0.35,0.34,0.35,343840 There are about 900000 rows like this. Target datatypes in SQL Server: BIGINT (primary key, im not inserting it, its identity(1,1)) VARCHAR(10), DATE, DECIMAL(10,2), DECIMAL(10,2), DECIMAL(10,2), DECIMAL(10,2), INT How to convert that data to SQL Server data types? How to insert that data into SQL Server? Also i need some progress bar updates between inserts. I could do this using old-fashion SQL command, but i have learn more modern way :)

• Filter Empty Directories in Package Explorer View

  Is there a way in eclipse to filter/hide empty directory trees in the package explorer view? This is different than filtering directories like '.svn' or maven's target, or filtering empty packages. It's more trying to clean up empty directories trees that show up as a result of filter rules. Context- We have a generic project in our workspace that uses filters to ignore non text based files(mp3s, jpgs, etc). It allows us to quickly edit our files in eclipse. The problem is because of the filters there are a lot of empty folders present. If eclipse can ignore any empty folders due to filters it would make the project cleaner.

• Using Custom Generic Collection faster with objects than List

  I'm iterating through a List<> to find a matching element. The problem is that object has only 2 significant values, Name and Link (both strings), but has some other values which I don't want to compare. I'm thinking about using something like HashSet (which is exactly what I'm searching for -- fast) from .NET 3.5 but target framework has to be 2.0. There is something called Power Collections here: http://powercollections.codeplex.com/, should I use that? But maybe there is other way? If not, can you suggest me a suitable custom collection?

  Hello, I'm building a custom RSS reader app with incorporated feed link view (UIWebView).   I have class Vertex and a class Edge (Edge holds 2 properties - Vertex Source and Vertex Target); Edges and Vertexes are collected into lists Some example: A-->B // edge from vertex A to B B-->C // edge from vertex B to C C-->A // edge from vertex C to A A-->C // edge from vertex A to C -- this is two way edge So I would like to make IDictionary<Edge, bool> which would hold edges (A--B and B--A would be like 1), and bool - if it is two way or no. I need it because when I draw them now, it draws 2 arrows under one another. I would better make 1 arrow. So I'm pretty stuck right here... May anybody help me a bit ?

  Hello, I got a problem which I do not know how to solve: I have a set of sets A = {A_1, A_2, ..., A_n} and I have a set B. The target now is to remove as few elements as possible from B (creating B'), such that, after removing the elements for all 1 <= i <= n, A_i is not a subset of B'. For example, if we have A_1 = {1,2}, A_2 = {1,3,4}, A_3={2,5}, and B={1,2,3,4,5}, we could e.g. remove 1 and 2 from B (that would yield B'={3,4,5}, which is not a superset of one of the A_i). Does anybody know an algorithm for determining the (minimal number of) elements to be removed?

But I was just wondering if it possible to send an url request to the service that will return an image with multiple markers on the image? (ie. more than one locations marked). For some reason this works perfectly for myself but for my users they are getting the following error -- The target table 'dbo.tblEmploymentPrevocServices' of the DML statement cannot have any enabled triggers if the statement contains an OUTPUT clause without INTO clause. This application is a WinForm app that connects to a local SQL 2005 Express database that is a part of a Merge Replication topology.   It took me hours to figure out how to implement a timer into my program, but when it runs, the app doesn't load completely as it did before the timer.   I'm running a Postgresql query and getting the following error: ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid (PGError: ERROR: could not open segment 1 of relation base/20983/24161 (target block 5046584): No such file or directory The query is of the format 'SELECT "locations".* FROM "locations" WHERE ("locations"."id" IN (115990, 78330, 77891, 78248, ...)' with about 600 ids in the IN clause - not an optimal query I know but it's what I have to work with for the moment! The server is running PostgreSQL 8.4.6 on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, compiled by GCC gcc-4.4.real (Ubuntu 4.4.1-4ubuntu9) 4.4.1, 64-bit. Postgis 1.5 is also installed, and the locations table contains a geometry column. Anyone have any idea what could be causing the error? Thanks!

• Python Tkinter after loop not working fast enough

  I am making a simple metronome where it plays a tick sound every few milliseconds depending on the bpm and plays the sound using the winsound module. I use tkinter because there will be a gui component later but for now the metronome code is working, it plays the sound at a constant rate, but even though I set the after loop to play the sound every few milliseconds, it waits longer and the beat is slower than it should be. Is it a problem with the code or a problem with the way I calculate the time? Thanks. • Python Threading, loading one thread after another

  Hi, I'm working on a media player and am able to load in a single .wav and play it. As seen in the code below. foo = wx.FileDialog(self, message="Open a .wav file...", defaultDir=os.getcwd(), defaultFile="", style=wx.FD_MULTIPLE) foo.ShowModal() queue = foo.GetPaths() self.playing_thread = threading.Thread(target=self.playFile, args=(queue[0], 'msg')) self.playing_thread.start() But the problem is, when I try to make the above code into a loop for multiple .wav files. Such that while playing_thread.isActive == True, create and .start() the thread. Then if .isActive == False, pop queue[0] and load the next .wav file. Problem is, my UI will lock up and I'll have to terminate the program. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Second, how can I target only the first or second of multiple classes to store in the 'containerClass' variable, e.g., <div id="main-content" class="apples bananas">? Very much appreciated! svs

  I understand that @ suppresses printing of a command in a Makefile... http://www.gnu.org/software/make/manual/make.html#Echoing ... and I understand that $@ is the target name... http://www.gnu.org/software/make/manual/make.html#Automatic-Variables ... but I can't find any information on what a line like this might mean: variable=@value@ I'm not trying to fix anything here, just trying to better understand Makefiles. Update: The "Makefile Subsitutions" section of the GNU autoconf manual explains that it's a value that is substituted by autoconf.

• WiX, Conditionally installing a file based on OS

  In my WiX project I need to install different content for the same file name, based on the OS. If the OS is Windows 7 then the file needs to have content X. If the OS is Windows Vista the file needs to have content Y. I have thought through a few approaches: Define two components, one with the content for windows 7 and another with the contents for Vista. Run a custom action based on the OS that overwrites the content for Vista if the OS is Windows 7. Define two additional features (window7 config and win vista config) have the components target the same file and install the feature conditionally based on OS. Which is the best approach to take. Any tips, tricks and sample wix to get this going?

• New thread per client connection in socket server?

  I am trying to optimize multiple connections per time to a TCP socket server. Is it considered good practice, or even rational to initiate a new thread in the listening server every time I receive a connection request? At what time should I begin to worry about a server based on this infrastructure? What is the maximum no of background threads I can work, until it doesn't make any sense anymore? Platform is C#, framework is Mono, target OS is CentOS, RAM is 2.4G, server is on the clouds, and I'm expecting about 200 connection requests per second.
