• How to made my background image strech if I dynamicaly insert DIV in the middle of the page

  Hi, I have a background image which I apply to the body. The image is only in the bottom and stretch to the entire width of the page. The image is 1 X 320 px. body { background-image: url("../images/bg-main.gif"); background-position: 0% 100%; background-repeat:repeat-x; } The rest of my web site is in 1024 X 768 resolution. It works perfectly until I dynamically insert a new DIV in the middle of the page using javascript. It cause the browser scroll bar to appear and when I scroll down to the bottom, I can see the image stopping right at it's original position. How can I make my image get down again without reloading the page ??? I'm using the EXTJS framework to avoid reloading the page... Thanks Alain

  I'm having problems with external native DLL. I'm working on ASP.NET 1.1 web application and have this DLL which I load through DLLImport directives. • Dynamic Midi generation and playback on Android: Possible?

  Strangely I find no support for Midi in Android. The only thing that comes close is the Jetplayer, but this only takes a existing .jet file. I want to dynamically generate a midi file with some intervals and play it. I even thought about just manually creating a .jet file with a tone and then transposing it with the jet player, but it limits the transposing to -12, +12. Which is not so good for me. There also is a ToneGenerator on Android, but it's limited to predefined tones with no way to transpose. Does someone know how to achieve midi generation and playback on Android?

  Hi, i have a question regarding some complex data-binding. I want to be able to update a grid (which has the property "IsItemsHost" set to true) dynamically whenever a data-binding occurs. To be more specific, i bind the grid to some items and i want to change the number of grid rows depending on these items, add something like a header (one row containing some text), and set the items' Grid.Row and Grid.Column using some custom logic. What is the easiest way to apply such behaviour whenever the bound data is updated? Do i have to use a viewmodel that also contains the header data? Thanks in advance.

• bypass IIS xml file settings at file/folder level

  Hi, Our site is currently set to pass all files with the xml file extension through the asp.net worker process because all the xml files on the site at the moment are generated dynamically on being hit, by writing the output directly into the response stream. However we now have a requirement to add a file which is much larger and takes several minutes to generate in this way. I wrote a console app to generate the file and set it to run nightly, but because of the global IIS setting directing xml files to run through asp_wp, it's not being served properly. I can't seem to find a way to make an exemption for the treatment of a single file in the IIS settings. Is there any other way we can do it? Cheers, Matt

  I have an application that uses plugins that are managed via an interface I then dynamically load the plugin classes and cast them to the interface to work with them. I have the following line of code, assume that IPlugin is my interface. IPlugin _plugin = (IPlugin)Activator.CreateInstance(oInfo.Assembly, oInfo.FullyQualifiedName) This should be pretty simple, create the instance and cast it to the interface. I know that the assembly and fully qualified name values are correct, but I am getting the following exception.   I have an extension that can be placed on any toolbar (like the bookmarks, menu or status bars). In general, the context menu opens downward, but when placed on the status bar and Firefox is closed to the bottom of the screen, the context menu opens upward. I'd like to try reordering the context menu based on its up or down orientation, so that the same options are always closest to the mouse. For example, when opened downward it appears like this: -- (mouse) --------------- - MenuItem A - --------------- - MenuItem B - --------------- - MenuItem C - --------------- - ....... - --------------- When it opens upwards its like this: --------------- - MenuItem A - --------------- - MenuItem B - --------------- - MenuItem C - --------------- - ....... - --------------- -- (mouse) However, I'd like "MenuItem A" to appear closest to the mouse at all times, since its the most common item. I can render the items dynamically, so I really just need to find out the orientation.

  I am binding a table to a gridview in asp.net as such grdIssues.DataSource = mdtIssues; grdIssues.DataBind(); The problem is I cannot then control the column width, asp.net seems to decided on it's own what width each column should be. Methods such as grdIssues.Columns[0].ItemStyle.Width = 100; grdIssues.Columns[1].ItemStyle.Width = 100; don't work because the columns are created dynamically. I cannot believe there isn't a way to do this short of manually creating each column and filling each row. Regards, Bob Avallone

  Hello there, I'm experimenting with C# 4.0's dynamic object model. I've created an abstract class named "Block" that inherits from DynamicObject. It overrides TryGetMember and TrySetMember. Furthermore I've created a usable class named "Brush" that inherits from "Block". I want it to be usable dynamically. But when I create a dynamic object from it and try to access a runtime bound member, it pelts me with an exception telling me that the member doesn't exist. The overridden TryGetMember or TrySetMember methods of the abstract parent class aren't getting called. Is this behaviour to be expected? Thank you!

  I'm having a hard time understanding the output of ldd - Especially the processor identifiers. The string in question is this one: Shortest.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, from ']', not stripped I have several questions about it: What does "ELF" mean? I know that's what Linux binaries are called like (Windows Binaries are called PE Binaries, "Portable Executable" Binaries), but isn't ELF an abbreviation for something? What does LSB mean? I can't even guess it... I see the string "Intel" there, now I seriously wonder about the portability of Linux binaries, as ldd seems to expect every binary to be compiled on a intel processor... but what if it wasn't compiled on a Intel processor? Or when I attempt to run the binary on a computer that doesn't run ontop of a Intel processor? Why the ']'? My guess is it should be some sort of Linker identify, but ']' doesn't look much like a Identifier... Thanks in advance

  Hi-- I'm seeing some strange behavior from some dynamically generated PDFs using the TCPDF library in PHP. Standard lamp stack-- however, if you try to open the PDF from Windows with Acrobat Reader, it gives an error that the "file is damaged and could not be repaired". From Mac, Linux, etc. the file works fine, and opens fine. It also opens fine in Google Docs-- so clearly the PDF itself is ok. Is it possible that the mime type (application/pdf) is causing problems in Windows? Thanks

• python modules difference: .c/.h vs. .py

  I'm very new to python, as i'm embedding it (in form of a static lib) in an ios project. It's not possible for me to dynamically load python modules, so i would like to compile my modules along with python. For modules shipped with the python source this works (by modifying setup.py or Module/Setup), but when i downloaded a third party module i noticed, i don't fully understand the mechanism. The modules shipped with python come with a .c file in the Modules dir as well as a .py file in the Lib dir. My third party module just comes with .py files. 1.Why do those modules have different file extensions? 2.How to integrate a module coming with .py files in an embedded python version? Obviously pasting them in Modules/Setup does require some .c files. 3.Do these .c files have something to do with the Python C-Api? I guess i'm missing something essential :) Help is much appreciated.

  Does anyone know of an example of how to dynamically define and build ADO MD (ActiveX Data Objects Multidimensional) catalogs and cube definitions with a set of data other than a database? Background: we have a huge amount of data in our application that we export to a database and then query using the usual SQL joins, groups, sums etc to produce reports. The data in the application is originally in objects and arrays. The problem is the amount of data is so large the export can take 2 hours. So I am trying to figure out a good way of querying the objects in memory, either by a custom OLAP algorithm or library, or ADO MD. But I haven't been able to find an example of using ADO MD without a database behind it. We are using Delphi 2010 so would use ADO ActiveX but I imagine the ADO.NET MD is similar. I realize that if the application data was already stored in a database the problem would solve itself. Also if Delphi had LINQ capability I could query the objects and arrays that way.

• Relying on nhibernate's second level cache vs pushing objects into asp.net session

  I have some big entities which are frequently accessed in the same session. For example, in my application there is a reporting page which consist of dynamically generated chart images. For each chart image on this page, the client makes requests to corresponding controller and the controller generates images using some entities. I can either use asp.net's session dictionary for "caching" those entities or rely on nhibernate's second level cache support with using cached queries for example. What is your opinion? By the way I will use shared hosting, is nhibernate's second level cache hosting friendly? Thanks.

  Coins with different value are spread in circle around a round table . We can choose any coin such that for any two adjacent pair of coins , atleast one must be selected (both maybe selected too) . In such condition we have to find minimum possible value of coins selected . I have to respect time complexity so instead of using naive recursive bruteforce , i tried doing it using dynamic programming . But i get Wrong Answer - my algorithm is incorrect . If someone could suggest an algorithm to do it dynamically , i could code myself in c++ . Also maximum number of coins is 10^6 , so i think O(n) solution exists .

Since I'm relatively new to Silverlight, I'm not even sure if this is possible, but I am trying to figure out if it is possible to set a Silverlight textbox control's width value proportionally to it's immediate parent container? It would be nice to avoid hard coding a width value. Say you want to place a textbox control inside a horizontally aligned StackPanel control and have it's width always dynamically adjusted to be 80% of the total width of the StackPanel. Is this possible to do declaratively in your xaml markup, or will I need to resort to some codebehind attached to some event handler to accomplish this? fyi, I am currently using Visual Web Developer Express 2008 to write my silverlight code. thanks in advance, John

  I have a Silverlight 3 application containing six custom user controls. I'd like to load the colour scheme for these controls from an external resource. The code and XAML containing a default colour scheme would be built in the XAP. Then a parameter on the object tag would contain a URL from where alternate colours can be dynamically loaded. By the way, the Silverlight 3 application theme feature could be used if that's possible but is really overkill. Only colours need to be changed. • VC7.1 C1204 internal compiler error

  I'm working on modifying Firaxis' Civilization 4 core game DLL. The host application is built using VC7, hence the constraint (source not provided for the host EXE). I've been working on rewriting a large chunk of the code (focusing on low-hanging performance issues & memory leaks). I recently ran into an internal compiler error when trying to mod the code to use an array class instead of dynamically allocated 2-d arrays, I was going to use matrices from the boost lib (Civ4 is already using boost, so why not?). Basically, the issue comes down to: if I include "boost/numeric/ublas/matrix.hpp", I run into an internal compiler error C1204. MSDN has this to say: MSDN C1204 KB has this to say: KB 883655 So, I'm curious, is it possible to solve this error without a KB/SP being applied and dramatically reducing the complexity of the code? Additionally, as VC7 is no longer "supported", does anyone have a valid (supported) link for a VC7 service pack?
