  I am trying to use mod_rewrite to pretty up a URL. I want the URL to look like this: http://example.com/bart/school?page=2 and the rewritten URL to be: http://localhost:8080/app?user=bart&tag1=school&page=2 If possible, I would also like to be able to have more than one tag per user: http://example.com/bart/school/lisa?page=2 Would look like: http://localhost:8080/app?user=bart&tag1=school&tag2=lisa&page=2 I far as I can tell this is possible by using mod_rewrite but I can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be really appreciated!

• LazyInitializationException when adding to a list that is held within a entity class using hibernate

  Right so i am working with hibernate gilead and gwt to persist my data on users and files of a website. my users have a list of file locations. i am using annotations to map my classes to the database. i am getting a org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException when i try to add file locations to the list that is held in the user class. this is a method below that is overridden from a external file upload servlet class that i am using. when the file uploads it calls this method. the user1 is loaded from the database elsewhere. the exception occurs at user1.getFileLocations().add(fileLocation); I tried using DISTINCT, but when I am selecting both columns, the combination is allways unique so I get all the rows. Thank you !

• In a Rails unit test, how can I get a User fixture to load its associated Profile?

  In the documentation concerning Fixtures (http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/Fixtures.html) they provide the following example of using label references for associations: ### in pirates.yml reginald: name: Reginald the Pirate monkey: george ### in monkeys.yml george: name: George the Monkey pirate: reginald So following their lead, I have a User model that has_one :profile, a Profile model that belongs_to :user, and tried to set up fixtures per their example: ### in users.yml reginald: id: 1 login: reginald ### in profiles.yml reginalds_profile: id: 1 name: Reginald the Pirate user: reginald (Note: since my association is one-way, the User fixture doesn't have a "profile: reginalds_profile" association--putting it in causes an error because the SQL table has no profile_id attribute.) The problem is, in my unit tests everything seems to load correctly, but users(:reginald).profile is always nil. What am I missing?

• Regex, encoding, and characters that look a like

  First, a brief example, let's say I have this "/[0-9]{2}°/" regex and this text "24º". The text won't match, obviusly ... (?) really, it depends on the character encoding. Here is my problem, I do not have control on which chars the user uses, so, I need to cover all possibilities in the regex /[0-9]{2}[°º]/, or even better, assure that the text has only the chars I'm expecting °. But I can't just remove the unknow chars otherwise the regex won't work, I need to change it to the chars that looks like it and I'm expecting. I have done this through a little function that maps the "look like" to "what I expect" and change it, the problem is, I have not covered all possibilities, for example, today I found a new "-", now we got three of them, just like latex =D - -- --- ,cool , but the regex didn't work. Does anyone knows how I might solve this?

• ASP .NET: SQL Server Money Type and .NET Currency Type

  MS SQL Server's Money Data Type seems to accept a well formatted currency value with no problem (example: $52,334.50) From my research MS SQL Sever just ignores the "$" and "," characters. ASP .NET has a parameter object that has a Type/DbType property and Currency is an available option to set as a value. However, when I set the parameter Type or DbType to currency it will not accept a value like $52,334.50. I receive an error "Input string was not in a correct format." when I try to Update/Insert. If I don't include the "$" or "," characters it seems to work fine. Also, if I don't specify the Type or DbType for the parameter it seems to work fine also. Is this just standard behavior that the parameter object with its Type set to currency will still reject "$" and "," characters in ASP .NET? • Drupal node_save and special characters.

  Hello, i'm trying to create nodes and taxonomy terms through a custom php script by using the node_save() function. I'm working on drupal 6. It's working well (thanks to previous questions on stackoverflow) except for accented letters. Indeed, when a title or a taxonomy term contain "é", "è" or "à", the sentence is cut before those special characters. For example, a title like that: "Bonjour les éléphants" will create a node with "Bonjour les " as title. I don't know if it's linked to my database or if i have to use a special encoding in php (iconv() blabla) The fact is, for drupal titles, i can not use html encoding (for example: é is é in html) because drupal will render &eacute and not é... When i create a taxonomy or a title manually, i have no problems and the accented letter is saved in the database as "é". Soo if you can help me to create terms and title with accented letters, that will be great : ) Thank you !

Given this XML: <people count="3"> <person>Bill</person> <person>Joe</person> <person>Susan</person> </people> Is it possible in an XSD to force the @count attribute value to be the correct count of defined elements (in this case, the person element)? The above example would obviously be correct and the below example would not validate: <people count="5"> <person>Bill</person> <person>Joe</person> <person>Susan</person> </people>

  I've just been playing with Scala, and installed the Eclipse plugin as described at http://www.scala-lang.org/node/94, but after entering the "Hello World" test example and setting up the run configuration as described, I get the following error Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main For reference the code is package hello object HelloWorld extends Application { println("Hello World!") } I've tinkered a bit with the obvious solutions (adding a main method, adding a singleton object with a main method) but I'm clearly doing something wrong. Can anyone get their test example to work, or point out what I am doing wrong?

  This is probably a simple problem. But I downloaded the pywiiuse library from here and I also downloaded the examples. However when I try to run one of the examples I end up with import issues. I'm not certain I have everything configured properly to run.   I have a function that looks as follows: let isInSet setElems normalize p = normalize p |> (Set.ofList setElems).Contains This function can be used to quickly check whether an element is semantically part of some set; for example, to check if a file path belongs to an html file: let getLowerExtension p = (Path.GetExtension p).ToLowerInvariant() let isHtmlPath = isInSet [".htm"; ".html"; ".xhtml"] getLowerExtension However, when I use a function such as the above, performance is poor since evaluation of the function body as written in "isInSet" seems to be delayed until all parameters are known - in particular, invariant bits such as (Set.ofList setElems).Contains are reevaluated each execution of isHtmlPath. How can best I maintain F#'s succint, readable nature while still getting the more efficient behavior in which the set construction is preevaluated. The above is just an example; I'm looking for a general pattern that avoids bogging me down in implementation details - where possible I'd like to avoid being distracted by details such as the implementation's execution order since that's usually not important to me and kind of undermines a major selling point of functional programming.

  I need a regular expression that will extract sentences from text that contain a year in them. Example text: Next, in 1988 the Bradys were back again for a holiday celebration, "A Very Brady Christmas". Susan Olsen (Cindy) would be missing from this reunion, Jennifer Runyon took her place. This was a two hour movie in which the Bradys got together to celebrate Christmas, introducing the world to the spouses and children of the Brady kids. This movie was the highest rated TV-movie of 1988. If the example text was variable $string, I need it to return: $sentenceWithYear[0] = Next, in 1988 the Bradys were back again for a holiday celebration, "A Very Brady Christmas". $sentenceWithYear[1] = This movie was the highest rated TV-movie of 1988. If it's possible to retain the year via regex, I'd use the year within the sentence and eventually insert the sentences into a database like: INSERT INTO table_name (year, sentence) VALUES ('$year', '$sentenceWithYear[x]')

• How can I walk through two files simultaneously in Perl?

  I have two text files that contain columnar data of the variety position-value, sorted by position. Here is an example of the first file (file A): 100 1 101 1 102 0 103 2 104 1 ... Here is an example of the second file (B): 20 0 21 0 ... 100 2 101 1 192 3 193 1 ... Instead of reading one of the two files into a hash table, which is prohibitive due to memory constraints, what I would like to do is walk through two files simultaneously, in a stepwise fashion. What this means is that I would like to stream through lines of either A or B and compare position values. If the two positions are equal, then I perform a calculation on the values associated with that position. Otherwise, if the positions are not equal, I move through lines of file A or file B until the positions are equal (when I again perform my calculation) or I reach EOF of both files. Is there a way to do this in Perl?

  With the new sparse checkout feature in Git 1.7.0, is it possible to just get the contents of a subdirectory like how you can in SVN? I found this example, but it preserves the full directory structure. Imagine that I just wanted the contents of the 'perl' directory, without an actual directory named 'perl'. -- EDIT -- Example: My git repository contains the following paths repo/.git/ repo/perl/ repo/perl/script1.pl repo/perl/script2.pl repo/images/ repo/images/image1.jpg repo/images/image2.jpg repo/doc/ repo/doc/readme.txt repo/doc/help.txt What I want is to be able to produce from the above repository this layout: repo/.git/ repo/script1.pl repo/script2.pl However with the current sparse checkout feature, it seems like it is only possible to get repo/.git/ repo/perl/script1.pl repo/perl/script2.pl which is NOT what I want. • Value of text box disapears - binding viewmodel to a tab (content control)

  Based on the MVVM example by Josh Smith, I have implemented the multi tab option which binds to a different tab to a different view model using a simple datatemplate that binds a viewmodel to a view. <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type fixtureVM:SearchViewModel}"> <SearchVw:SearchView/> </DataTemplate> The issue that I'm having, is when I switch tabs and then switch back again, the value in the textbox disappears. When I bind the Text in the textbox to a value in the ViewModel it does not disappear. This is fine, and I can overcome this but I am having another issue for example with the position of the scroll bar in a grid disappearing once the tab has lost focus. Why is the value disappearing? I'm assuming it is a WPF sub system task that cleans up resources!? how can I avoid this? I also feel it might be slowing down my app.

  In converting this CONSOLE example to a full windows dialog implementation I have run into a very "simple problem". SendMessage() (line 283) is returning zero, GetLastError reveals 0x578 - Invalid window handle. http://read.pudn.com/downloads51/sourcecode/windows/multimedia/175678/msgapitest.cpp__.htm (https://developer.skype.com/Download/Sample...example_win.zip) C++ 2005 Studio express edition instructions http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=54549 The previous call using HWND_BROADCAST works and Skype replies as expected, so I know Skype is installed and working properly. The handle I use is the wParam value from the Skype Reply message, as in the code. This is non zero, but I am not sure if there is a way to test it other than with SendMessage. The compiled app from this C++ code example (see zip download) does actually work so I am stumped. I do encode the message with UTF8, and I create an instance of the COPYDATASTRUCT in my app, populate it then call SendMessage() with the COPYDATASTRUCT pointer in lparam. Skype does not respond nor does it obey. Am I missing something obvious here?

Until now I have done what most tutorials told me, added a reference to the routing assembly, configured stuff in the web.config, added this to the Global.asax: protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { RouteCollection routes = RouteTable.Routes; routes.Add( "WebService", new Route("service/{*Action}", new WebServiceRouteHandler()) ); } ...created this class: public class WebServiceRouteHandler : IRouteHandler { public IHttpHandler GetHttpHandler(RequestContext requestContext) { // What now? } } ...and the problem is right there, I don't know what to do. The tutorials and guides I've read use routing for pages, not webservices. Is this even possible? Ps: The route handler is working, I can visit /service/ and it throws the NotImplementedException I left in the GetHttpHandler method.

• SVG -> WPF linear gradient

  Does anyone know if there is an equilant attribute of SVG's "gradientUnits=userSpaceOnUse" in WPF for a LinearGradientBrush? I can't seem to find this. If not, does anyone know about how to calculate it in (C# or VB.NET)? For example if I have a StartPoint of 0,0 and EndPoint of 1,1 on a Rectangle that is 100x100, the angle is 45 degrees. However, when I change either the width or height of the Rectangle, for example Width=150, the axis is no longer at 45 degrees. How could I calculate to keep the angle at 45 degrees in a rectangle that is not a square so that it runs from bottom left to top right corner for a middle gradientstop.
