  • How do I destruct data associated with an object after the object no longer exists?

    I'm creating a class (say, C) that associates data (say, D) with an object (say, O). When O is destructed, O will notify C that it soon will no longer exist :( ... Later, when C feels it is the right time, C will let go of what belonged to O, namely D. If D can be any type of object, what's the best way for C to be able to execute "delete D;"? And what if D is an array of objects? My solution is to have D derive from a base class that C has knowledge of. When the time comes, C calls delete on a pointer to the base class. I've also considered storing void pointers and calling delete, but I found out that's undefined behavior and doesn't call D's destructor. I considered that templates could be a novel solution, but I couldn't work that idea out. Here's what I have so far for C, minus some details: // This class is C in the above description.   • How to fix poor rendering in Windows Movie Maker?

    I am using CamStudio to make some instructional videos about Visual Studio for our development team, and one of the videos needed some editing to remove audio and video mistakes and to add in a better ending. CamStudio outputs to .avi files, and they look pretty good, with the program source code being quite readable. However, after making the edits using WMM, it has rendered the results to a noticeable loss in quality. It has gone from from fairly sharp in focus and adequately readable to recognizable but somewhat blurred. It has also inflated the size of the new .avi file to three times its original size (before cropping half of the vido out!). And the .wmv I attempted to render was was certainly smaller but simply horrible-looking. The left image here is the original video, and the right image is WMM's rendering in .avi format: I have to be doing something wrong, but I know nothing about how to use WMM (my first use of it). I am using default settings to the best of my knowledge. Any suggestions welcomed!

  • postfix, TLS and rapidssl - "verify error:num=19:unable to get local issuer certificate"

    I have been googeling for days! I have a cert from rapidssl. I read up that the problem with num=20, is that indicates it doesn't know the issuer, or doesn't know the ROOT Cert, right? I run this command: openssl s_client -showcerts -connect smtp.server.com:465 I get this error: verify error:num=19:self signed certificate in certificate chain Here is what i have in my postfix main.cf, and what i have done: smtpd_tls_key_file = /etc/postfix/ssl/smtp.server.com.rsa.key (this is the private key) smtpd_tls_cert_file = /etc/postfix/ssl/smtp.server.com.PUBLIC.key (this is the public key given to me by rapidssl) smtpd_tls_CAfile = /etc/postfix/ssl/combo.csr.key This key has both the intermediate keys ON TOP, and the ROOT KEY on the bottom. Here is the Intermediate keys: https://knowledge.geotrust.com/library/VERISIGN/ALL_OTHER/geotrust%20ca/GT_QuickSSL_and_Premium_and_Trial_intermediate_bundle.pem and here is the root CERT: http://www.geotrust.com/resources/root_certificates/certificates/Equifax_Secure_Certificate_Authority.cer anyone know how to use rapidssl certs?

  • pure as3 benefits to compiling with flex4 instead of flex3?

    If I have a pure as3 project that I have been compiling with flex3 from mxmlc, is there any reason to switch to using the mxmlc with flex4? I can use all of the flash 10 language features like Vector, 3D, etc., so that is not a reason to switch (or is there something I can't do?). But maybe there is a performance boost? Or is the exact same compiling tool and the flex code base is the only difference?

  • Virus blocking incoming connections ?

    Hello, on my windows 2003 server, all incoming connections are dropped. I can see them getting in using Wireshark, but even a single ping from another computer fails. All locally initiated connection work fine (i'm asking from the server). This server is the DC/DHCP/DNS/File server, so computer clients are in the dark. I've run varius antivirus and removal tools without any luck. The Windows Firewall is disabled. I'm wild-guessing at some virus/worm. How can i check why these incoming ICMP/TCP SYN/etc are dropped ? Anyone has any knowledge about such situations ? Thanks.

    This is a simple problem, but I'm having problems with it... I'm trying to use Google common collection's Objects.equal() method in a GWT client code, but I'm keep getting the error "20:12:10.001 [ERROR] [gwt_regex] Line 39: No source code is available for type com.google.common.base.Objects; did you forget to inherit a required module?" Tried to Google for the answer, but couldn't find any answer regarding this - everyone just said "Google collection should work off the box with GWT".

    I've created and tested WCF service, everything works fine. When I deployed to TEST environment and tried to open https://my.site/myapp/EnrollmentService.svc I've got the error message: Could not find a base address that matches scheme http for the endpoint with binding MetadataExchangeHttpBinding. Registered base address schemes are [https].   • Thunderbird: moving email from local Junk folder to IMAP folder yields "Message contains invalid header"

    Whenever I try to move an email from a local Junk folder to an IMAP folder in Thunderbird, I get the following error message: The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: Message contains invalid header If Thunderbird's Junk folder is an IMAP folder on the server, then after Thunderbird has moved messages to that folder, I can successfully move messages from Junk back into to some other IMAP folder. However, if the Junk folder is not on the server, then moving a message from the local Junk folder to an IMAP folder yields the aforementioned error. The only interesting thing I've found about this error is "Message contains invalid header" from the MozillaZine Knowledge Base. That article officially is about importing folders from another email client, and does not mention the Junk filter as another possible cause. However the proposed solution is not very helpful since it requires manual editing of the message box files. Any better ideas? EDIT: make sure you read the comments before answering the question.

Software interrupt can be generated from a running program who wants for example to read a file, and for that we need to reassign the cpu for the appropriate operation system call. Is this true? Is there other kind of software/hardware interrupts?
