  • Where is the VB.Net debugger "Make Object ID" function?

    When using the visual studio 2008 debugger with c# i can right-click on a variable and choose "Make Object ID" which allows me to watch that object (via it's ID) regardless of whether it is in the current stack frame or not. When the debugger is in VB code, (doesnt matter if it's run from a c# unit test or a vb unit test) That option isn't there. Where did VB put this feature? Or does it simply not support it like so many other helpful c# features?

The only web project on this solution display the following message: .vbproj the project is not supported by this installation I try to open the web project separately from the solution and I not have problem. How I can open the web project from the solution. Any ideas?

    Hi Experts, Who can help me with this: I am working on Win7 x64, with VS.net 2008. I am developping for pocketpc. When my application is deployed to the device emulator it can't connect to my computer / db server. Both de emulator as well the mobile device center are configured to use DMA.     Hello, I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Express and I would like Visual Studio (or perhaps an Add-in) to save my whole project to some sort of auto-incrementing archive or whatever would help me recover from disasters. I don't have much need for SVN or complex versioning systems. I'm just looking for something simple and lean. Any help would be much appreciated. Jenny PS : I looked into the built-in AutoRecover feature but it doesn't seem to save more than a few files.

  • Has anyone had trouble with Intellisense in Visual Studio when using UltraVNC?

    Hi, a colleague and I are trying pair programming for the first time. We both remote into a development machine; I'm using RemoteDesktop and my colleague is using UltraVNC. This works great except that he can't see the Intellisense dropdown in Visual Studio 2008. According to online posts, this may be something to do with DirectDraw, but I don't see much by way of a workaround. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Andrew

    I have a Windows 2008 server with two IP addresses assigned to a single NIC. The DNS settings are setup to register the connections's addresses on the DNS server. nslookup shows both IP addresses for the server name. How is name resolution done in this case, i.e. which IP address does the DNS server return for a host lookup? Or does it return both, and the client selects one of the addresses?

It's DataNavigateUrlFormatString property is set to View.aspx?id={0}&isTechnical={1} Select command of appropriate SqlDataSource returns columns of type INT and BYTE (from SQL Server 2008). So displayed string becomes something like View.aspx?id=1&isTechnical=1. But I want to display isTechnical=true|False, i.e. Convert.ToBoolean(row["isTechnical"]).ToString().ToLowerInvariant(). How to implement such conversion in page markup?
