  please help I just install 12.10 x86_64 to my new computer amd fx8120 cpu ati hd 7770 msi 990 fxa and I'm facing the following error: 2012-11-17 18:19:04,393 WARNING: /sys/module/fglrx/drivers does not exist, cannot rebind fglrx driver From :additional drivers" can not install the ati drivers From "system settings" "software sources" only the x.org server is working but with problems Compiz works continuously and if I open for example a video the fun is running like crazy The mouse pointer goes slow The windows act strange (flashing, don't open, open slowly etc) What should I do?   I have recently discovered a website that is a must have for any developer who has struggled with picking the colors for their web site:  http://colorschemedesigner.com/ You get several choices to determine how to specify the colors. This option brings in a complimentary color in various shades along with the main color that you select on the color wheel. You also have the option of specifying various adjustments to the schema. You can make it pastel, more contrast, less contrast, gray tones, etc. You can also view a preview page as a light page or a dark page to see how the colors might be applied.  Once you have everything the way you want it, you can switch over to the final tab and get the color list. Now none of us have an excuse for questionable color combinations.

• Ubuntu 14.04 and Android, can't see phone on my computer

  I have installed gMTP and tried to follow this tutorial to solve this problem: http://www.webupd8.org/2013/01/upgrade-to-gvfs-with-mtp-support-in.html But neither worked. I tried to connect both my phone (Nexus 4) and my dad's phone (Galaxy Note 2), and neither is being detected by Ubuntu. They don't show up on my files and on gMTP. Is there another fix? or something more specific for Android 4.3 and Ubuntu 14.04

• Concept of bit fields

  Whenever I read a code like this: struct node { int x : 2; int p : 4; }n; with bit fields involved, I get really confused, as to how they are represented in memory, what is sizeof(n) etc., how does it differ with normal members of structures? I tried referring K&R and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bit_field but they little to remove my confusion. What concepts of bit fields am I failing to grasp?

  I just got a new laptop, HP dm4, and I'm having problems getting the audio to work properly on it. http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=7b697a35465a9f7236fb94deb9ff97fa65e55489 I tried to edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and added: option snd-hda-intel model=ref this caused the audio to work, but it's muffled. • Is backing up a MySQL database in GIT a good idea?

  I am trying to improve the backup situation for my application. I have a Django application and MySQL database. I read an article suggesting backing up the database in Git. On the one hand I like it, as it will keep a copy of the data and the code in synch. But GIT is a designed for code, not for data. As such it will be doing a lot of extra work diffing the mysql dump every commit, which is not really necessary. If I compress the file before storing it, will git diff the files? (The dump file is currently 100MB uncompressed, 5.7Mb when bzipped). Edit: the code and database schema definitions are already in GIT, it is really the data I am concerned about backing up now.

What I'm going to do is create a Java parser to break up the Java code into operators, parameters etc to build XML representation. Next I want to create a code generator to convert the parsed java code to XML conforming to the schema I've created. Finally I want to use an XML style-sheet to transform the XML into another programming language type. Basically I just wanted some advice on which methodology/model I should use for planning and developing this project. Is there some benefit to using Agile etc for instance?
