  I try to suspend my server using dbus and UPower. The server runs Ubuntu LucidLynx 64bit. While everything works fine if I am sitting directly at the machine, it won't work via ssh. If I connect to the server via ssh and try to suspend the machine using dbus and upower, it gives back dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.UPower.GeneralError: not authorized Could anyone please tell me how to configure dbus in order to allow ssh-users to suspend the machine?

  I decided to add to my game few trees, I already quake 3 model loader (md3) its for characters and method for texture drawing is store in *.ini file. I found a package of trees in MD3 and I have no problem with loading model alone, but there is a *.shader file and i have no idea how to load it to draw texture properly. • Access denied 403 errors after migrating my site

  I've recently migrated my Joomla site from one shared hosting to another with Hostgator. GWT notified me about many 403 access denied pages. I've checked with Firebug too, and even though browser is displaying full page correctly but http return is 403. I've checked the home page but it's correctly returing 200 response. The same is shown by Fetch as Google in GWT(pasted this in the bottom). The site is 3 years old and I regularly do such migrations. I've copied the files and database "AS IS". I've even cleared all the caches but no luck. There is only one change: previously the site was primary domain but now it's add-on one. What could be the issue? This is how Googlebot fetched the page. Supposedly there are less than 1000 clients. Would there be any security threat to use only password (UUID v4 strings) to authenticate user? • 2D camera perspective projection from 3D coordinates -- HOW?

  I am developing a camera for a 2D game with a top-down view that has depth. It's almost a 3D camera. Basically, every object has a Z even though it is in 2D, and similarly to parallax layers their position, scale and rotation speed vary based on their Z. I guess this would be a perspective projection. But I am having trouble converting the objects' 3D coordinates into the 2D space of the screen so that everything has correct perspective and scale. I never learned matrices though I did dig the topic a bit today. I tried without using matrices thanks to this article but every attempt gave awkward results. I'm using ActionScript 3 and Flash 11+ (Starling), where the screen coordinates work like this: Left-handed coordinates system illustration I can explain further what I did if you want to help me sort out what's wrong, or you can directly tell me how you would do it properly. In case you prefer the former, read on. That's where you'll find what all variables mean, too) The long formula is greatly simplified because I believe a normal top-down 2D camera has no X/Y/Z rotation values (correct ?). Then it becomes d = a - c. Still, I can't get it to work. Maybe you could explain what numbers I should put in a(xyz), c(xyz), theta(xyz), and particularly, e(xyz) ? I don't quite get how e is different than c in my case. c.z is also an issue to me. If the Z of the camera's target object is 0, should the camera's Z be something like -600 ? ( = focal length of 600) Whatever I do, it's wrong. I only got it to work when I used arbitrary calculations that "looked" right, like most cameras with parallax layers seem to do, but that's fake! ;) If I want objects to travel between Z layers I might as well do it right. :) Thanks a lot for your help!

• Why does Compiz keeps crashing?

  I am running Ubunutu 14.04 x86_64. Compiz keep crashing frequently and I can't work on my laptop. If I have media running or so I can still hear the audio and its just Compiz that is crashing as I see in some crash logs. I tried to reset both Compiz and Unity but still it is not working.   I don't have access to company firewall server. but supposedly the port 1720 is open on my one ubuntu server.   Possible Duplicate: Pidgin, how to set up facebook I've tried almost all options and used this guide (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pidgin#Facebook_XMPP) to set up Pidgin for my facebook acccount, but it is simply impossible. At the username section I am using my actual username....not the long copied link from facebook...so that cannot be the issue. Is there anyone out there who had had issues of the same type? Thanks

  I do not want NetworkManager to list or manipulate my wireless card. Can I hide its interface from NetworkManager somehow? I have tried adding this in /etc/network/interfaces, iface wlan0 inet static address 192.168.1.101 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1 wireless-essid Synaptotagmin pre-up wpa_supplicant -B -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf post-down killall -q wpa_supplicant and this in /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf, [keyfile] unmanaged-devices=/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/net_00_19_e0_57_86_af but NetworkManager Applet still lists and allows me to connect to wireless networks.

• Wireless card unseen by lspci

  I installed both Ubuntu 8.04 and 10.04. I tried to install the wireless card. although I succeeded in installing the driver using ndiswrapper, it tells me that the hardware is not present. When I use lspci, it doesn't list it. I have this laptop model and I think it should have the same entry about the wireless card here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1810193 Could the problem be other than hardware malfunction?
