  I tried to allocate an array of structs in this way: struct T { int a; int b; } data = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(count*Marshal.SizeOf(typeof(T)); ... I'd like to access to allocated data "binding" a struct to each element in array allocated with AllocHGlobal... something like this T v; v = (T)Marshal.PtrToStructure(data+1, typeof(T)); but i don't find any convenient way... why IntPtr lack of arithmetics? How can I workaround this is a "safe" way? Someone could confirm that PtrToStructure function copy data into the struct variable? In other words, modifing the struct reflect modifications in the structure array data, or not? Definitely, I want to operate on data pointed by an IntPtr using struct, without copying data each time, avoiding unsafe code. Thank all!

When I call a pdo query connection within a function and the connection is included outside the function, the connection becomes undefined. Anyone know what I am doing wrong here?   I ran into an issue by introducing floating point columns in the MySQL database schema that the comparisons on floating point values don't return the correct results always. 1 - 50.12 2 - 34.57 3 - 12.75 4 - ...(rest all less than 12.00) SELECT COUNT(*) FROM `users` WHERE `points` > "12.75" This returns me "3". I have read that the comparisons of floating point values in MySQL is a bad idea and decimal type is the better option. Do I have any hope of moving ahead with the float type and get the comparisons to work correctly?

• How to tell when my batch of EAP calls are completed?

  This is following my question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2607038/c-how-to-consume-web-service-adheres-to-the-event-based-asynchronous-pattern My program is calling the DoStuffAsync() x many times in a batch, hence the callback will get invoked the same number of times upon OnComplete(). Is there a way to find out when my batch is finished such that I can generate a report on the success/failed results? All I can think of is to have a static count variable for x and deduct 1 every time OnComplete() is called, but its kind of silly and error prone I'm afraid. TIA.

• Vertical Lines appearing rapidly on HP DV-1211tu screen

  My laptop (HP DV-1211tu series) is more than 1 year old but was working fine. Then about couple of months back, there appeared ONE vertical line on my screen and I was told that I might have to change the screen!! So I ignored it and continued to work on my laptop. In the past week though there have been more lines appearing and its about 9 on last count. I am assuming this is a display problem but what do I do???? I can't afford a new screen.   Hey guys, I don't think I'm getting it right. Here is my most recent query that I believe is almost working. SELECT max(sender_id) as sender_id, subject, MAX(id) as message_id, MAX(created_at) as updated_at FROM messages where (recipient_id = #{current_user} and recipient_deleted = 'f') or sender_id = #{current_user} GROUP BY subject ORDER BY max(created_at) DESC ; Basically the goal is to fetch all recent messages of a user, group them by subject, and make sure that the photo that is showing up is the other party's photo, never the current user. (also need the most recent message body and message count but that is for another time) Here is what I think is wrong. doing max(sender_id) is wrong, since the current_user id could be higher than the sender's id. I am using the sender_id in the html page to fetch the user's photo.

My intention is to only retrieve the queries that can be displayed on a single page, thus making the process efficient. I tried using two queries in my function, but I could not return two variables to the cfinvoke. (a) What can be the reason? (b) Is there any way out? I have also tried using count($rs_select -> GetRows()). This satisfies the need but looks inefficient as it will involve copying of all the records into an array first.

  Hey, I'm making an e-shop and to display the tree of categories and all the products with their multiple variations of prices I made like more than 150 mysql_query("SELECT ..."); queries on one page. (If I count the "while" loops). Is it too many, and if yes, can it have any negative effect? (ofc. it takes longer to load the data ..)   Hi I'm a BA / programmer type doing data analysis on a legacy system. I've been teaching myself SQL to help, but I've appeared to hit upon a problem bigger than my abilities. I have two tables (generalized for simplicity): Table Objects Object_PK Table Components Component_PK Object_FK Component_Type There are 100+ distinct values in Component_Type_Code. Given that any object can have N number of Components, how can I see which Component_Type(s) appear with other Component_Type(s)? For example, the following query tells me what component_types appear with the component_type 'Component_type_1': select component_type_code, count(*) from components where object_fk in ( select object_fk from components where component_type_code = 'component_type_1' ) group by component_type_code I'd like to get a query to show me all connections My apologies for the formatting.   Hi I'm trying to create a UIScrollView with loop that contains a collection of ViewControllers. The answer to this question here shows the code that is the basis for what I'm trying to do. It uses images instead of viewControllers. I've managed to get the all the viewControllers loaded (4) and displaying but the first view which is a duplicate of the last viewController is blank. I've tried creating a copy of this viewController and adding it to the array but this messes up the transition / count. Any suggestions?

  I want to add a where clause to make sure video_count is greater than zero. Only categories which are referenced once or more in video_category.video_id should be returned. Because video_count is not a field in any table I cannot do this. Here is the query. • What is the maximum number of controls that a VBA form can hold?

  I'm currently building an Excel 2003 app that requires a horribly complex form and am worried about limitations on the number of controls. It currently has 154 controls (counted using Me.Controls.Count - this should be accurate, right?) but is probably only about a third complete. The workflow really fits a single form, but I guess I can split it up if I really have to. I see evidence in a Google search that VB6 (this usually includes VBA) has a hard limit of 254 controls in a form. However, I created a dummy form with well over 1200 controls which still loaded and appeared to work just fine. I did get some 'out of memory' errors when trying to add specific combinations of controls though, say 800 buttons and 150 labels, leading me to think that any limit might be affected by the memory requirements of each type of control. Does anyone have any information that might help ensure that I or, more importantly, other users with differing environments don't run into any memory issues with such a large form?

  Let's say I do this: $("#content").load(...); Within what I'm loading some javascript is included: var myCounter = 0; var myInterval = setInterval(function(){ myCounter++; $("#counter-display").html("Count: "+myCounter); }); For an unknown reason, if I reload the content with $("#content").load(...); - myInterval is now being called twice. I tried doing something like: if (myInterval !== undefined){ //dont set interval again } However, it doesn't work. Does anyone know any method so that myInterval is cleared on .load, without needing to put the javascript outside of the loaded file?

In example if I have 8 rows in the table and I want to get 5 rows in two steps I would: first step query: select * from table limit 0, 5 first step result: first 5 rows; second step query: select * from table limit 5, 5 second step result: last 3 rows; But I want to get it vice versa. I mean from the first step I want last 3 rows and from the second I want 5 first rows. Thank you for your answer
