• Sharepoint web part stops working because of Resources.en-US.resx file

  I've been developing a Sharepoint web part, which had been working fine upon deployment. The web part has been developed with WSP Builder, packaged up and then deployed via stsadm. The web part has been deployed tens, if not a hundred times to the dev box with no problems. Now, the web part throws an error which breaks the page it's on: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. I've retracted the web part manually through Solution Management, retracted through stsadm, checked for the existence of the resource file, which is nowhere to be found. I'm pretty much at a loss to why this happened or how to resolve it.

  I'm setting resources.frontController.throwExceptions = 1 (or true) in my application.ini but that doesn't seem to force the FrontController to throw exceptions. I can see exceptions (output on the webpage) when I explicitly set 'protected $_throwExceptions = true;' in Front.php in Zend library. Any idea why the config setting doesn't work?

• Android: Creating custom class of resources

  Hi, R class on android has it's limitations. You can't use the resources dynamically for loading audio, pictures or whatever. If you wan't for example, load a set of audio files for a choosen object you can't do something like: R.raw."string-upon-choosen-object" I'm new to android and at least I didn't find how you could do that, depending on what objects are choosen or something more dynamic than that. So, I thought about making it dynamic with a little of memory overhead. But, I'm in doubt if it's worth it or just working different with external resources. The idea is this: Modify the ant build xml to execute my own task. This task, is a java program that parses the R.java file building a set of HashMaps with it's pair (key, value). I have done this manually and It's working good. So I need some experts voice about it. This is how I will manage the whole thing: Generate a base Application class, e.g. MainApplicationResources that builds up all the require methods and attributes. Then, you can access those methods invoking getApplication() and then the desired method.   I've had a bunch of EAGAIN's from trying to fork() or spawning threads, which lead me to believe that I'm leaking resources somewhere. Is it possible, in POSIX, to get the following from inside the process itself: number of active pthreads number of active child processes number of active pipes number of active sockets (or maybe this and pipes would be counted as file descriptors?) Or do these have to be counted manually? There's already counters for them, but I think one of them are leaking.

Scenario 1 Lets say I create a gradient brush, like this in my <Window.Resources> section: <LinearGradientBrush x:Key="GridRowSelectedBackBrushGradient" StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,1"> <GradientStop Color="#404040" Offset="0.0" /> <GradientStop Color="#404040" Offset="0.5" /> <GradientStop Color="#000000" Offset="0.6" /> <GradientStop Color="#000000" Offset="1.0" /> </LinearGradientBrush> Then much later on, I want to override the HighlightBrushKey for a DataGrid.
