• Django URL Conf Returns Incorrect "Current URL"

  I have a django app that is mostly done, and the URLs work perfectly when I run it with the manage.py runserver command. However, I've recently tried to get it running via lighttpd, and many links have stopped working. For example: http://mysite.com/races/32 should work, but instead throws this error message. Page not found (404) Request Method: GET Request URL: http://mysite.com/races/32 Using the URLconf defined in racetrack.urls, Django tried these URL patterns, in this order: ^admin/ ^create/$ ^races/$ ^races/(?P<race_id>\d+)/$ ^races/(?P<race_id>\d+)/manage/$ ^races/(?P<text>\w+)/$ ^user/(?P<kol_id>\d+)/$ ^$ ^login/$ ^logout/$ The current URL, 32, didn't match any of these. The request URL is accurate, but the last line (which displays the current URL) is giving 32 instead of races/32 as expected. • Named captured substring in pcre++

  Hello, I want to capture named substring with the pcre++ library. I know the pcre library has the functionality for this, but pcre++ has not implemented this. This is was I have now (just a simple example): pcrepp::Pcre regex("test (?P<groupName>bla)"); if (regex.search("test bla")) { // Get matched group by name int pos = pcre_get_stringnumber( regex.get_pcre(), "groupName" ); if (pos == PCRE_ERROR_NOSUBSTRING) return; // Get match std::string temp = regex[pos - 1]; std::cout << "temp: " << temp << "\n"; } If I debug, pos return 1, and that is right, (?Pbla) is the 1th submatch (0 is the whole match). It should be ok. But... regex.matches() return 0. Why is that :S ? Btw. I do regex[pos - 1] because pcre++ reindexes the result with 0 pointing to the first submatch, so 1. So 1 becomes 0, 2 becomes 1, 3 becomes 2, etc. Does anybody know how to fix this?

• Adding variably named fields to Python classes

  I have a python class, and I need to add an arbitrary number of arbitrarily long lists to it. The names of the lists I need to add are also arbitrary. For example, in PHP, I would do this: class MyClass { } $c = new MyClass(); $n = "hello" $c.$n = array(1, 2, 3); How do I do this in Python? I'm also wondering if this is a reasonable thing to do. The alternative would be to create a dict of lists in the class, but since the number and size of the lists is arbitrary, I was worried there might be a performance hit from this. If you are wondering what I'm trying to accomplish, I'm writing a super-lightweight script interpreter. The interpreter walks through a human-written list and creates some kind of byte-code. The byte-code of each function will be stored as a list named after the function in an "app" class. I'm curious to hear any other suggestions on how to do this as well.

  I have a fairly large (new) project in which we have annotated many domain classes with JPA mappings. Now it is time to implement many named queries -- some entities may have as many as 15-20 named queries. I am thinking that writing these named queries in annotations will clutter the source files and therefore am considering putting these in XML mapping files. Is this possible? Mort importantly, is this reasonable? Are there better approaches? How is this done?

• What setting can cause a monitor to flicker under X11?

  I've been dinking with the xorg.conf file on my system and now when I try to start X I get a flickering effect and no usable image. I think (and this is just a guess) that it's a settings out of bound error of some kind but I don't know what setting. I'm almost completely sure that the hardware is good given that everything is brand new.and works just fine in text mode. Any ideas?

I followed this tutorial: http://wiki.debian.org/Authenticating_Linux_With_Active_Directory but I'm stuck on the getent passwd Because this doesn't list all AD users but only locals. This is my nsswitch.conf: passwd: files winbind group: files winbind shadow: files winbind And I'm sure it is well connected to AD becuse this: wbinfo -u Lists all AD users. What have I missed?

  Like many other natty users on a university / academic network, I'm experiencing annoying frequent disconnects / hangs / delays.   I had to make some tweaks to my app to add new functionality, and my changes seem to have broken the :uniq option that was previously working perfectly. Here's the set up: #User.rb has_many :products, :through = :seasons, :uniq = true has_many :varieties, :through = :seasons, :uniq = true #product.rb has_many :seasons has_many :users, :through = :seasons, :uniq = true has_many :varieties #season.rb belongs_to :product belongs_to :variety belongs_to :user named_scope :by_product_name, :joins = :product, :order = 'products.name' #variety.rb belongs_to :product has_many :seasons has_many :users, :through = :seasons, :uniq = true First I want to show you the previous version of the view that is now breaking, so that we have a baseline to compare. The view below is pulling up products and varieties that belong to the user. In both versions below, I've assigned the same products/varieties to the user so the logs will looking at the exact same use case. #user/show <% @user.products.each do |product| %> <%= link_to product.name, product %> <% @user.varieties.find_all_by_product_id(product.id).each do |variety| %> <%=h variety.name.capitalize %></p> <% end %> <% end %> This works. Three distinct versions of the same product are displaying on the page. (2) The :uniq option is not working for varieties. I don't have validation set up on this yet, and if the user enters the same variety twice, it does appear on the page. In the previous working version, this was not the case. The result I need is that only one product for any given ID displays, and all varieties associated with that ID display along with such unique product. One thing that sticks out to me is the sql call in the most recent log output. It's adding 'count' to the distinct call. I'm not sure why it's doing that or whether it might be an indication of an issue. • /var/run/httpd.pid missing...

  Recently one of our web servers httpd stopped working and I haven't been able to find the problem. Today I sat down and went through every directory in the httpd.conf and have found an issue. the /var/run/httpd.pid is missing from the folder. All other files are there and seem to be fine. I cannot create a new file with the same name in vi and I have no idea what could have caused this. I imagine it was caused by a cold reboot at some stage as no other extraordinary processes have been run on this server at the time it went down. I am running CentOS 3. How can I reinstate this file?

• How do I set a postgresql password in pgpass.conf for the Administrator account on Windows Server 2008?

  I have a pgpass.conf file that works well for my default user. It is in C:/Users/myuser/AppData/Roaming/postgresql/pgpass.conf. It reads like so; localhost:5432:*:postgres:password1 I have a process that runs under the Administrator account. When I run whoami under this process I get nt authority/system. I want to be able to access the database from this process but it gets stuck because it needs a password. I have tried putting the above pgpass.conf into C:/Users/Administrator/AppData/postgresql/pgpass.conf and C:/Users/Administrator/AppData/Roaming/postgresql/pgpass.conf but it does not work. Is this the correct place for this file? Am I even able to do this as the Administrator. Unfortunately I cannot change the user that this process runs under.
