  • jQuery - Set selected value of all dropdowns on page

    Hello Frieds, I have another jQuery question. For a user control with lots of database activity, I would like to use jQuery to set the selected values of all of the dropdowns to their "current" value. I want to do this to make the page appear to have finished the database call. My jQuery skill is not the best, but I believe I need to use the pageLoad(). And since each dropdown is inside of a user control I can search for those dropdowns beginning with "usrControl" $('select[id ^="usrControl"'].each(function(){ var selectedValue = $(this).val() $(this).val(selectedValue) }); Something like this is what I have in mind.   • Accessing items at deeper levels using children() in jQuery

    Hi, I want to access a simple button in an unknown nested level of a container. Using container.children('button') allows me to access buttons in the first level, i.e.: <div> <button>test</button> </div> Trying to use the same with the following construct: <div> <div> <button>test</button> </div> </div> .. fails, because the button is not a direct children. I could use element.children().children('button') but the depth of the button can change and this feels too strange. I can also write my own function to iterate thru all children to find what I need, but I guess jQuery does already have selectors for this. So the question is: How can I access children in an unknown depth using jQuery selectors? Thank you all in advance for your feedback!

  • Authlogic OpenID: Fetching E-Mail from Provider.

    This is a really weird problem: I have set up the authlogic_openid_selector_example app. When i register, the email id is not returned by the openid provider the first time. But if i delete the account and register again, the email id is returned. But this doesn't seem to be happening in the example hosted here: http://big-glow-mama.heroku.com/. How do i fix this problem? Has this got to do with caching? I have hosted my version of the app here: http://pingauthtest.heroku.com/ I guess the author of authlogic_openid_selector_example app (@holden) has forgotten to commit new changes. :) I looked at my development log and the first time the provider doesn't return the openid.ext1.value.ext0 which contains the email id. This is returned the second time only after having deleted the account first.   • Are Objective-C initializers allowed to share the same name?

    I'm running into an odd issue in Objective-C when I have two classes using initializers of the same name, but differently-typed arguments. I did some stepping through the debugger and found that the isa pointer for both a and b objects ends up the same. I also found out that if I no longer make the alloc and init calls inline, both initializations seem to work properly, e.g.: A *a = [A alloc]; [a initWithNum:20.0f]; If I use this convention when I create both a and b, I get the right output and the isa pointers seem to be different for each object. Am I doing something wrong? I would have thought multiple classes could have the same initializer names, but perhaps that is not the case.

  • Windows Server 2008 Stops Responding (Hyper-V Role Enabled)

    The machine is a brand new Dell Precision m6500, Core i5, 8GB RAM. Windows Server 2008 R2 (fully patched) with Hyper-V Role Enabled. Virtualization options in the BIOS are ON, SpeedStep is OFF, couldn't find C1E option in the BIOS to turn it off (I also got the impression that SpeedStep is C1E, but the Intel Product site lists them as separate "features." shrug) The server stops responding without any apparent reason. I've tried testing in multiple scenarios, all of which result in a crash at seemingly random times: With the Server sitting idle, no apps running. Server sitting idle with a Virtual Machine running. Using a BurnInTest application There's no blue screen. It doesn't restart. The screen just sits there. The keyboard backlight still responds and comes on with input, but nothing on the screen changes. There are no errors in the error log. I have to hold down the power button to turn it off. Doing memory tests on bootup results in no errors with the memory. I have a second identical system and the same thing happens there too. I've dual-booted into Windows 7 Profession x64 on this system with no problems. Further testing has shown that the issue is definitely related to Windows Server 2008 R2 and Hyper-V as it appears the crashing does not happen when the services are not running. I've installed all hotfixes relating to this issue (that I could find): 975530, 979444, 979491, 976427 System is still crashing without response.

  • What does this error mean in my IIS7 Failed Request Tracing report?

    Hi folks, when I attempt to goto any page in my web application (i'm migrating the code from an asp.net web site to web application, and now testing it) .. i keep getting some not authenticated error(s) . So, i've turned on FREB and this is what it says... I'm not sure what that means? Secondly, i've also made sure that my site (or at least the default document which has been setup to be default.aspx) has anonymous on and the rest off.     Somehow in trying to cleanup my computer's hard drive, I have inadvertently corrupted WordPad, which I have long used for viewing many types of files, including logs (i.e., log4j). Now when I right click one of these files and choose "open with" & WordPad, I get an error (fn is not a valid Win32 application). I've researched this issue, tried reinstalling wordpad.exe; bbut I still get the same error. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    i have a partial view with a dropdown in it. the code looks like this: <%=Html.DropDownListFor(x => Model.Exercises, new SelectList(Model.Exercises, "Id", "Name", Model.SelectedExercise), new { @id = "exerciseDropdown", @class = "autoComplete" })%> the issue is that i want to reuse this partial view in multiple places but i want to have a different id assigned to the control (instead of exerciseDropdown always) but on the outside i only have this . . <% Html.RenderPartial("ExerciseList", Model); %> is there anyway to pass in an id into a partial view. should i stick this into my view model as a seperate property "Model.ExerciseDropdown2" for example. is there a better way ?

    I'm trying to extract some certain data from a website using JSoup and Java. So far I've been successful in what I'm trying to achieve. <ul class="beverageFacts"> <li><span>Årgång</span><strong>**2009**&nbsp;</strong></li> I want to extract what is inside the ** in the above HTML. I can do this by using the code that follows in JSoup: doc.select("ul.beverageFacts li:lt(1) strong"); I'm using the lt(1) because there are several more list items following that I want to omit. Now to my problem; there's an optional information tab on the site I'm extracting data from, and it also has a class called "beverageFacts". My code will at the moment extract that data too, which I don't want it to do. The code is further down in the source of the website, and I've tried to use the indexer :lt(1) here aswell, but it wont work. <div id="beverageMoreFacts" style="display: block"> <ul class="beverageFacts"><li class="half"> <span> Färg</span><strong> Ljusgul färg.</strong> My overall result is that I extract "2009 Ljusgul färg." instead of only "2009". How can I write my code so it will only extract the first part, which it succesfully does, and omits the rest?
