  • Passing a panel widget to a function

    I have written a quite complex script which calls a server handler to refresh elements in a grid at the press of a button. For code re-use and consistent behaviour, I am wanting to call that server handler directly during the initial painting of the grid. When the server handler gets called by clicking on the button, all expected widgets are available and can be queried with e.parameter.widget etc. When I call the function directly and pass it the panel variable, the value of e is just 'AbsolutePanel'. Is there some way I can emulate the addCallbackElement way of passing the entire panel and all widgets it contains to the function? Or a way of automatically firing a server handler on script start? Please forgive any syntax errors below, I have pruned 500 lines of code down to the pertinent bits!   • Windows 7, enabeling IE for removal

    For a while now, Windows Update has been prompting me to update IE9 to IE10. And every time I turn off my PC, It starts to install that one update wich allways fails. Why does it fail updating IE9? I don't know. So the solution I had in my mind was to remove IE9 and then install IE10 manually. THe problem is now, I can't find the uninstall file for IE9. I have looked in windows control panel / programs and features but it didn't show up, not even in the installed updates section. So after I clicked on Turn windows features on or off, I saw that the IE9 box wasn't checked. So I checked it, clicked OK, but then when I clicked on the Turn windows features on or off link again, it wasn't checked anymore. It's almost like Windows doesn't want me to uninstall IE9. but I have to in order to normally shut down my pc, because everytime I shut my PC off, it tries to install that stupid update again! What can I do to solve this?

    I have an ASP.NET web page that displays a variety of fields that need to be updated best on certain conditions, button clicks and so on. We've implemented AJAX, using the ASP.NET Update Panel to avoid visible postbacks. Originally there was only one area that needed this ability ... that soon expanded to other fields. Now my web page has multiple UpdatePanels. I am wondering if it would be best to just wrap the entire form in a single UpdatePanel, or keep the individual UpdatePanels. What are the best practices for using the ASP.NET UpdatePanel?

    Hi, I have a modal popup extender which is triggered by gridview onRowCommand. The gridview and the modal popup extender is in different updatePanel. The panel which assigned to PopupControlID of the mpe contains a textbox and a button. This button will triggered a page method web service that will return a value to be assigned to the textbox. My problem is when I click the button, after partial post back, the mpe disapper (hide). I tried everything to make it show.   • Flowlayout panel and autosizing child controls doesn't work

    I am trying to get a very simple autosizing layout on a winform (C# .NET). I've tried TableLayoutPanels and FlowLayoutPanels but nothing works. I have a usercontrol which is a container for other usercontrols which are created at runtime - I've called it StackPanel as I want it to list the child controls vertically. I've tried this using a FlowLayoutPanel, TableLayoutPanel and a Panel (with each control docked to the top). The child usercontrol consists of a label and then any number of radiobuttons (or any other standard control - it doesn't matter). When the child controls are created, the label text is set (if this is long it needs to wrap to a new line) and the radio buttons are added. There seems to be no combination of docking/autosizing or manual size setting using the Resize events that can get everything to show without clipping and still resize with the form. Thanks!

I already did the coding on the MasterPage: public class MyMaster : MasterPage { public void ShowPanel(string pMessage) { labelInside.Text = pMessage; myPanel.visible = true; } } Then I make the calls from child pages: public void ShowPanel(string pMessage) { MyMaster masterPage = this.Master as MyMaster; masterPage.ShowPanel(pMessage); } This "works" ok, but it won't show nothing, since I need the page to be "refreshed" in an "ajax-way" like an UpdatePanel, which I can't use because the Trigger is in another page, right? I really need this to work.. even if you have another completely different way to do this, I would appreciate.

  • Bad event on java panel

    Hi I have a java panel with 4 buttons. When I click on of these buttons, a new frame appears and the first is hidden with setVisibile(false). On that new window, I have another button, but when i click it, I got the event corresponding to the fourth button of the first window. Clicking the button again does the trick, but of course this is not acceptable. Am I missing something? I just show the frames with nameOfTheFrame.setVisible(true); and I have MouseListeners on every button.     I have a model, Order, that has an action in the admin panel that lets an admin send information about the order to certain persons listed that order. Each person has language set and that is the language the message is supposed to be sent in. The default language is en-us, the translations are in french (fr) and german (de). Is there a way to use the translation for the language specified in lang for body and subject then switch back to en-us? For example: lang is 'de'. The subject and body should get the strings specified in the 'de' translation files.

    Hello, Is it possible to programatically create a new panel within a current document that contains duplicate elements? For example when the window loads I have a grid (one row) with three text fields, Fname01, Lname01, and DOB01, I would like to have a button that when clicked would append a new row to the grid with three new fields (Fname02, Lname02, and DOB02). Each time the button is clicked (addrow) a new row would be created. I am also interested to learn how these fields are identified within the xaml that would allow me to databind or programatically reference the created fields for insertion of the values into a database etc. Thank you in advance,

    I have a rich:panel with a style="overflow: scroll" tag inside. By default, the scroll slides left to right. I am constantly adding a new dataTable to a dataGrid with the click of a button and I want the user to always see the most recent one, and since I have it set up so that each dataTable is added as a column to the dataGrid, the most recent one will always be on the right side of the dataGrid. Is there a way I can default the scroll to go right to left? Or maybe creating the columns from right to left?

    Hello! Could anyone help me make normal layout in GWT. I need a main panel which: fills all the browser space (100% height); if being collapsed too much shows scroll bars (autoscroll). When I use old layout (RootPanel, VerticalPanel) I have scroll, but can't get 100% height. When I use new layout (RootLayoutPanel, DockLayoutPanel) I get 100% height, but I don't get any scroll. And also I have some troubles in IE. Is there any sample showing how to achieve both goals? Thanks in advance!

    I'm trying to hide all panels on a page, when a button click occurs. This is on a web content form, within a master page. The contentplageholder is named: MainContent So I have: foreach (Control c in Page.Form.FindControl("MainContent").Controls) { if (c is Panel) { c.Visible = false; } } This never find any panels. The panels are within an Update Panel, and I tried foreach(Control c in updatePanel.Controls) { } and this didn't work either. I also tried : foreach(Control c in Page.Controls) { } and that didn't work either. Any idea what I'm missing here?

  • Is there DBus command to set position of KDE panel?

    I have single vertical KDE panel. When I switch from single monitor X screen back to triple monitor X screen (with xrandr) my KDE panel ends up on the right edge of middle monitor, instead of right edge of right monitor. Also, many windows are in wrong place after the switch, but I have a script which restores geometry of all windows (as is used to be in triple monitor state before I switched to single monitor mode), so this is not a problem. Unfortunately, it does not work for KDE panel - it stays in the wrong place. I guess I need to use DBus to restore KDE panel position (programmatically move it to right edge of right screen), I tried googling, but it seems it is not very well documented. Is there DBus command to set position of KDE panel?

    Hi all: A new project requires a simple panel(page) for admin and staff members that : Preferably will not use SSL or any digital ceritification stuff, a simple login from via http will just be fine. has basic authentication which allows only admin to login as admin, and any staff member as of the group "staff". Ideally, the "credentials(username-hashedpassword pair)" will be stored in MySQL. is simple to configure if there is a package, or the strategy is simple to code. somewhere (PHP session?) somehow (include a script at the beginning of each page to check user group before doing anything?), it will detect any invalid user attempt to access protected page and redirect him/her to the login form. while still keeps high quality in security, something I worry about the most. Frankly I am having little knowledge about Internet security, and how modern CMS such as WordPress/Joomla do with their implementation in this. I only have one thing in my mind that I need to use a salt to hash the password (SHA1?) to make sure any hacker gets the username and password pair across the net cannot use that to log into the system. And that is what the client wants to make sure. But I really not sure where to start, any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance.

Whenever an end-user needs to show the hidden columns, they need to click each column. Below, I have some code to add a custom menu option when you select a field header. I'd like to execute this function so all columns show. As an example below, I have 'Project ID' and 'User Created' hidden by default.
