  • How do I make the top panel transparent in Unity?

    - by neildeadman
    I'm using a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 using Unity. I'm a newbie to Ubuntu and whilst researching various how-to's, I have seen screenshots where Ubuntu has the bar at the top of the screen shown transparent. I really like this, but I can't get it to do it on my box. I have tried CCSM (2 different methods), Ambience theme editing (a copy) but it always shows as black. I log out after each change and then log back in. Should I be restarting? I'm running: Asus P5Q Pro Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz x4 GeForce 9600GT 32-bit OS 4x 1GB DDR2 RAM Modules (although BIOS only shows I'm using ~3GB)

  • Start the Control Panel item Windows Update with WinExec.

    - by Bill
    Windows Vista Canonical Names The Microsoft website says "In Windows Vista and later, the preferred method of launching a Control Panel item from a command line is to use the Control Panel item's canonical name." According to the Microsoft website this should work: The following example shows how an application can start the Control Panel item Windows Update with WinExec. WinExec("%systemroot%\system32\control.exe /name Microsoft.WindowsUpdate", SW_NORMAL); For Delphi 2010 I tried: var CaptionString: string; Applet: string; Result: integer; ParamString: string; CaptionString := ListviewApplets1.Items.Item[ ListviewApplets1.ItemIndex ].Caption; if CaptionString = 'Folder Options' then { 6DFD7C5C-2451-11d3-A299-00C04F8EF6AF } Applet := 'Microsoft.FolderOptions' else if CaptionString = 'Fonts' then {93412589-74D4-4E4E-AD0E-E0CB621440FD} Applet := 'Microsoft.Fonts' else if CaptionString = 'Windows Update' then { 93412589-74D4-4E4E-AD0E-E0CB621440FD } Applet := 'Microsoft.WindowsUpdate' else if CaptionString = 'Game Controllers' then { 259EF4B1-E6C9-4176-B574-481532C9BCE8 } Applet := 'Microsoft.GameControllers' else if CaptionString = 'Get Programs' then { 15eae92e-f17a-4431-9f28-805e482dafd4 } Applet := 'Microsoft.GetPrograms' //... ParamString := ( SystemFolder + '\control.exe /name ' ) + Applet; WinExec( ParamString, SW_NORMAL); <= This does not execute and when I trapped the error it returned ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND. I tried a ExecAndWait( ParamString ) method and it works perfectly with the same ParamString used with WinExec: ParamString := ( SystemFolder + '\control.exe /name ' ) + Applet; ExecAndWait( ParamString ); <= This executes and Runs perfectly The ExecAndWait method I used creates a Windows.CreateProcess... if Windows.CreateProcess( nil, PChar( CommandLine ), nil, nil, False, 0, nil, nil, StartupInfo, ProcessInfo ) then begin try My Question Does WinExec require a different ParamString or am I doing this wrong with WinExec? I did not post the full ExecAndWait method but I can if someone wants to see it...

  • What is the significance of having the correct hostname for a cloud server in the control panel of the hosting company

    - by Logo
    What could be a problem that could arise if i do not have the correct hostname as my device name for the cloud server in a control panel of my hosting company basically the device name is supposedly the hostname when i created the cloud server they ensured this was my hostname for my new cloud server. but it looks like they will not allow me to use a domain name that is all digits. currently my host name in the cloud server itself is a domain name that is all digits.

I am using the function "getDays()" to get the available days list and stored the data inside daysWithRecords, and final the UI datepicker's function "beforeShowDay()" called the function "checkAvailability()" to set the days. the variable "daysWithRecords" was declared inside Igtomw = function(elem , options) and was initialized inside the function getDays() I am using the function "initialWatchHistory()" to initialization and render the JQuery UI datepicker in the web. My problem is the function "checkAvailability()" cannot see the variable "daysWithRecords".The firebug prompts me that "daysWithRecords" is "undefined". this is the first time I write my first plugin. So .... Thank you very much for any help!!

  • Ajax Control Toolkit November 2011 Release

    - by Stephen Walther
    I’m happy to announce the November 2011 Release of the Ajax Control Toolkit. This release introduces a new Balloon Popup control and several enhancements to the existing Tabs control including support for on-demand loading of tab content, support for vertical tabs, and support for keyboard tab navigation. We also fixed the top-voted bugs associated with the Tabs control reported at CodePlex.com. You can download the new release by visiting the CodePlex website: http://AjaxControlToolkit.CodePlex.com Alternatively, the fast and easy way to get the latest release of the Ajax Control Toolkit is to use NuGet. Open your Library Package Manager console in Visual Studio 2010 and type: After you install the Ajax Control Toolkit through NuGet, please do a Rebuild of your project (the menu option Build, Rebuild). After you do a Rebuild, the ajaxToolkit prefix will appear in Intellisense: Using the Balloon Popup Control Why a new Balloon Popup control? The Balloon Popup control is the second most requested new feature for the Ajax Control Toolkit according to CodePlex votes: The Balloon Popup displays a message in a balloon when you shift focus to a control, click a control, or hover over a control. You can use the Balloon Popup, for example, to display instructions for TextBoxes which appear in a form: Here’s the code used to create the Balloon Popup: <ajaxToolkit:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm1" runat="server" /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtFirstName" Runat="server" /> <asp:Panel ID="pnlFirstNameHelp" runat="server"> Please enter your first name </asp:Panel> <ajaxToolkit:BalloonPopupExtender TargetControlID="txtFirstName" BalloonPopupControlID="pnlFirstNameHelp" BalloonSize="Small" UseShadow="true" runat="server" /> You also can use the Balloon Popup to explain hard to understand words in a text document: Here’s how you display the Balloon Popup when you hover over the link: The point of the conversation was <asp:HyperLink ID="lnkObfuscate" Text="obfuscated" CssClass="hardWord" runat="server" /> by his incessant coughing. <ajaxToolkit:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm1" runat="server" /> <asp:Panel id="pnlObfuscate" Runat="server"> To bewilder or render something obscure </asp:Panel> <ajaxToolkit:BalloonPopupExtender TargetControlID="lnkObfuscate" BalloonPopupControlID="pnlObfuscate" BalloonStyle="Cloud" UseShadow="true" DisplayOnMouseOver="true" Runat="server" />   There are four important properties which you need to know about when using the Balloon Popup control: BalloonSize – The three balloon sizes are Small, Medium, and Large. BalloonStyle -- The two built-in styles are Rectangle and Cloud. UseShadow – When true, a drop shadow appears behind the popup. Position – Can have the values Auto, BottomLeft, BottomRight, TopLeft, TopRight. When set to Auto, which is the default, the Balloon Popup will appear where it has the most screen real estate. The following screenshots illustrates how these settings affect the appearance of the Balloon Popup: Customizing the Balloon Popup You can customize the appearance of the Balloon Popup by creating your own Cascading Style Sheet and Sprite. The Ajax Control Toolkit sample site includes a sample of a custom Oval Balloon Popup style: This custom style was created by using a custom Cascading Style Sheet and image. You point the Balloon Popup at a custom Cascading Style Sheet and Cascading Style Sheet class by using the CustomCssUrl and CustomClassName properties like this: <asp:TextBox ID="txtCustom" autocomplete="off" runat="server" /> <br /> <asp:Panel ID="Panel3" runat="server"> This is a custom BalloonPopupExtender style created with a custom Cascading Style Sheet. </asp:Panel> <ajaxToolkit:BalloonPopupExtender ID="bpe1" TargetControlID="txtCustom" BalloonPopupControlID="Panel3" BalloonStyle="Custom" CustomCssUrl="CustomStyle/BalloonPopupOvalStyle.css" CustomClassName="oval" UseShadow="true" runat="server" />   Learn More about the Balloon Popup To learn more about the Balloon Popup control, visit the sample page for the Balloon Popup at the Ajax Control Toolkit sample site: http://www.asp.net/ajaxLibrary/AjaxControlToolkitSampleSite/BalloonPopup/BalloonPopupExtender.aspx Improvements to the Tabs Control In this release, we introduced several important new features for the existing Tabs control. We also fixed all of the top-voted bugs for the Tabs control. On-Demand Loading of Tab Content Here is the scenario. Imagine that you are using the Tabs control in a Web Forms page. The Tabs control displays two tabs: Customers and Products. When you click the Customers tab then you want to see a list of customers and when you click on the Products tab then you want to see a list of products. In this scenario, you don’t want the list of customers and products to be retrieved from the database when the page is initially opened. The user might never click on the Products tab and all of the work to load the list of products from the database would be wasted. In this scenario, you want the content of a tab panel to be loaded on demand. The products should only be loaded from the database and rendered to the browser when you click the Products tab and not before. The Tabs control in the November 2011 Release of the Ajax Control Toolkit includes a new property named OnDemand. When OnDemand is set to the value True, a tab panel won’t be loaded until you click its associated tab. Here is the code for the aspx page: <ajaxToolkit:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm1" runat="server" /> <ajaxToolkit:TabContainer ID="tabs" OnDemand="false" runat="server"> <ajaxToolkit:TabPanel HeaderText="Customers" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <h2>Customers</h2> <asp:GridView ID="grdCustomers" DataSourceID="srcCustomers" runat="server" /> <asp:SqlDataSource ID="srcCustomers" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM Customers" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:StoreDB %>" runat="server" /> </ContentTemplate> </ajaxToolkit:TabPanel> <ajaxToolkit:TabPanel HeaderText="Products" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <h2>Products</h2> <asp:GridView ID="grdProducts" DataSourceID="srcProducts" runat="server" /> <asp:SqlDataSource ID="srcProducts" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM Products" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:StoreDB %>" runat="server" /> </ContentTemplate> </ajaxToolkit:TabPanel> </ajaxToolkit:TabContainer> Notice that the TabContainer includes an OnDemand=”True” property. The Tabs control contains two Tab Panels. The first tab panel uses a DataGrid and SqlDataSource to display a list of customers and the second tab panel uses a DataGrid and SqlDataSource to display a list of products. And here is the code-behind for the page: using System; using System.Diagnostics; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; namespace ACTSamples { public partial class TabsOnDemand : System.Web.UI.Page { protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e) { srcProducts.Selecting += new SqlDataSourceSelectingEventHandler(srcProducts_Selecting); } void srcProducts_Selecting(object sender, SqlDataSourceSelectingEventArgs e) { Debugger.Break(); } } } The code-behind file includes an event handler for the Products SqlDataSource Selecting event. The handler breaks into the debugger by calling the Debugger.Break() method. That way, we can know when the Products SqlDataSource actually retrieves the list of products. When the OnDemand property has the value False then the Selecting event handler is called immediately when the page is first loaded. The contents of all of the tabs are loaded (and the contents of the unselected tabs are hidden) when the page is first loaded. When the OnDemand property has the value True then the Selecting event handler is not called when the page is first loaded. The event handler is not called until you click on the Products tab. If you never click on the Products tab then the list of products is never retrieved from the database. If you want even more control over when the contents of a tab panel gets loaded then you can use the TabPanel OnDemandMode property. This property accepts the following three values: None – Never load the contents of the tab panel again after the page is first loaded. Once – Wait until the tab is selected to load the contents of the tab panel Always – Load the contents of the tab panel each and every time you select the tab. There is a live demonstration of the OnDemandMode property here in the sample page for the Tabs control: http://www.asp.net/ajaxLibrary/AjaxControlToolkitSampleSite/Tabs/Tabs.aspx Displaying Vertical Tabs With the November 2011 Release, the Tabs control now supports vertical tabs. To create vertical tabs, just set the TabContainer UserVerticalStripPlacement property to the value True like this: <ajaxToolkit:TabContainer ID="tabs" OnDemand="false" UseVerticalStripPlacement="true" runat="server"> <ajaxToolkit:TabPanel ID="TabPanel1" HeaderText="First Tab" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <p> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Maecenas porttitor congue massa. Fusce posuere, magna sed pulvinar ultricies, purus lectus malesuada libero, sit amet commodo magna eros quis urna. </p> </ContentTemplate> </ajaxToolkit:TabPanel> <ajaxToolkit:TabPanel ID="TabPanel2" HeaderText="Second Tab" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <p> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Maecenas porttitor congue massa. Fusce posuere, magna sed pulvinar ultricies, purus lectus malesuada libero, sit amet commodo magna eros quis urna. </p> </ContentTemplate> </ajaxToolkit:TabPanel> </ajaxToolkit:TabContainer> In addition, you can use the TabStripPlacement property to control whether the tab strip appears at the left or right or top or bottom of the tab panels: Tab Keyboard Navigation Another highly requested feature for the Tabs control is support for keyboard navigation. The Tabs control now supports the arrow keys and the Home and End keys. In order for the arrow keys to work, you must first move focus to the tab control on the page by either clicking on a tab with your mouse or repeatedly hitting the Tab key. You can try out the new keyboard navigation support by trying any of the demos included in the Tabs sample page: http://www.asp.net/ajaxLibrary/AjaxControlToolkitSampleSite/Tabs/Tabs.aspx Summary I hope that you take advantage of the new Balloon Popup control and the new features which we introduced for the Tabs control. We added a lot of new features to the Tabs control in this release including support for on-demand tabs, support for vertical tabs, and support for tab keyboard navigation. I want to thank the developers on the Superexpert team for all of the hard work which they put into this release.

  • Create a system image in Windows 8

    - by Greg Low
    One of the things that I've just come to accept is that the designers of Windows 8 and I think very differently.It'll take a long time to convince me that shutting down the computer is a "setting". Even after using Windows 8 for quite a while now, I still find that I struggle nearly every day, just trying to do things that I previously knew how to do. That's just not a good thing.Today I decided to create a system image as I hadn't made one lately. I started in Control Panel looking for Backup options. That yielded nothing except programs that wanted to "Save backup copies of my files with file history". I thought "oh well, let's just try the new search options". I hit the Windows key and typed "Backup". No, nothing came up there either.I searched again all over the Control Panel options to no avail.So it was time to hit Google again. Once again, clearly lots of people used to know how to do this and have been trying to work out where this option went.The first trick is that there are a bunch of Control Panel options that don't appear in the Control Panel. In the address bar at the top, if you click on Control Panel, you'll find there is an option that says "All Control Panel Options". That is curious given that's where I thought I was when I opened Control Panel. No hint is given on that screen that there are a bunch of hidden options. None the less, I then checked out "all" the options.The option that you need to create a system image in Windows 8 turns out to be the "Windows 7 File Recovery" option that appears in this extended list. Why does it say "Windows 7" when it's for "Windows 8" as well and I'm running "Windows 8"? Why do I have to choose an option that says "File Recovery" to create a system image backup?<sigh>But at least I've recorded it here for the next time I forget where to find it.

  • How to Customize Fonts and Colors for Gnome Panels in Ubuntu Linux

    - by The Geek
    Earlier this week we showed you how to make the Gnome Panels totally transparent, but you really need some customized fonts and colors to make the effect work better. Here’s how to do it. This article is the first part of a multi-part series on how to customize the Ubuntu desktop, written by How-To Geek reader and ubergeek, Omar Hafiz. Changing the Gnome Colors the Easy Way You’ll first need to install Gnome Color Chooser which is available in the default repositories (the package name is gnome-color-chooser). Then go to System > Preferences > Gnome Color Chooser to launch the program. When you see all these tabs you immediately know that Gnome Color Chooser does not only change the font color of the panel, but also the color of the fonts all over Ubuntu, desktop icons, and many other things as well. Now switch to the panel tab, here you can control every thing about your panels. You can change font, font color, background and background color of the panels and start menus. Tick the “Normal” option and choose the color you want for the panel font. If you want you can change the hover color of the buttons on the panel by too. A little below the color option is the font options, this includes the font, font size, and the X and Y positioning of the font. The first two options are pretty straight forward, they change the typeface and the size. The X-Padding and Y-Padding may confuse you but they are interesting, they may give a nice look for your panels by increasing the space between items on your panel like this: X-Padding:   Y-Padding:   The bottom half of the window controls the look of your start menus which is the Applications, Places, and Systems menus. You can customize them just the way you did with the panel.   Alright, this was the easy way to change the font of your panels. Changing the Gnome Theme Colors the Command-Line Way The other hard (not so hard really) way will be changing the configuration files that tell your panel how it should look like. In your Home Folder, press Ctrl+H to show the hidden files, now find the file “.gtkrc-2.0”, open it and insert this line in it. If there are any other lines in the file leave them intact. include “/home/<username>/.gnome2/panel-fontrc” Don’t forget to replace the <user_name> with you user account name. When done close and save the file. Now navigate the folder “.gnome2” from your Home Folder and create a new file and name it “panel-fontrc”. Open the file you just created with a text editor and paste the following in it: style “my_color”{fg[NORMAL] = “#FF0000”}widget “*PanelWidget*” style “my_color”widget “*PanelApplet*” style “my_color” This text will make the font red. If you want other colors you’ll need to replace the Hex value/HTML Notation (in this case #FF0000) with the value of the color you want. To get the hex value you can use GIMP, Gcolor2 witch is available in the default repositories or you can right-click on your panel > Properties > Background tab then click to choose the color you want and copy the Hex value. Don’t change any other thing in the text. When done, save and close. Now press Alt+F2 and enter “killall gnome-panel” to force it to restart or you can log out and login again. Most of you will prefer the first way of changing the font and color for it’s ease of applying and because it gives you much more options but, some may not have the ability/will to download and install a new program on their machine or have reasons of their own for not to using it, that’s why we provided the two way. • Django admin panel doesn't work after modify default user model.

    - by damienix
    I was trying to extend user profile. I founded a few solutions, but the most recommended was to create new user class containing foreign key to original django.contrib.auth.models.User class. I did it with this so i have in models.py: class UserProfile(models.Model): user = models.ForeignKey(User, unique=True) website_url = models.URLField(verify_exists=False) and in my admin.py from django.contrib import admin from someapp.models import * from django.contrib.auth.admin import UserAdmin # Define an inline admin descriptor for UserProfile model class UserProfileInline(admin.TabularInline): model = UserProfile fk_name = 'user' max_num = 1 # Define a new UserAdmin class class MyUserAdmin(UserAdmin): inlines = [UserProfileInline, ] # Re-register UserAdmin admin.site.unregister(User) admin.site.register(User, MyUserAdmin) And now when I'm trying to create/edit user in admin panel i have an error: "Unknown column 'content_userprofile.id' in 'field list'" where content is my appname. I was trying to add line AUTH_PROFILE_MODULE = 'content.UserProfile' to my settings.py but with no effect. How to tell panel admin to know how to correctly display fields in user form?

    Hi. I'm building an user login page and I want to go from titleWindow to Panel. I'm suing following function but it always takes me back to parentApplication. My question is how can I go to my panel and not to Application page. I know that I'm using parentApplication but what should I use instead??? Here is a part of my code: private function handleLogin(event:ResultEvent):void { Alert.show("You have succesfully logged in.", "Information", Alert.OK, null, null, null, Alert.OK); parentApplication.accountPage.mainService.getAccount(); PopUpManager.removePopUp(this); }

  • One time use FTP passwords with C-Panel/WHM?

    - by Tim Post
    I'm in a position where I need to give about a dozen people one shot FTP access to a domain in order to upload their work. I'd like to use single shot passwords, e.g once they login and upload, that's it. Single use. I don't see any obvious means of doing this conveniently with C-Panel. Prior to going through the bother of writing a WHM add on to accomplish the same, I'd like to make sure that I'm not re-inventing the wheel. Thanks in advance.

  • c# opennetCF background worker - e.result gives a ObjectDisposedException

    - by ikky
    Hi! I'm new working with background worker in C#. Here is a class, and under it, you will find the instansiation of it, and under there i will define my problem for you: I have the class Drawing: class Drawing { BackgroundWorker bgWorker; ProgressBar progressBar; Panel panelHolder; public Drawing(ref ProgressBar pgbar, ref Panel panelBig) // Progressbar and panelBig as reference { this.panelHolder = panelBig; this.progressBar = pgbar; bgWorker = new BackgroundWorker(); bgWorker.WorkerReportsProgress = true; bgWorker.WorkerSupportsCancellation = true; bgWorker.DoWork += new OpenNETCF.ComponentModel.DoWorkEventHandler(this.bgWorker_DoWork); bgWorker.RunWorkerCompleted += new OpenNETCF.ComponentModel.RunWorkerCompletedEventHandler(this.bgWorker_RunWorkerCompleted); bgWorker.ProgressChanged += new OpenNETCF.ComponentModel.ProgressChangedEventHandler(this.bgWorker_ProgressChanged); } public void createDrawing() { bgWorker.RunWorkerAsync(); } private void bgWorker_DoWork(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { Panel panelContainer = new Panel(); // Adding panels to the panelContainer for(i=0; i<100; i++) { Panel panelSubpanel = new Panel(); // Setting size, color, name etc.... panelContainer.Controls.Add(panelSubpanel); // Adding the subpanel to the panelContainer //Report the progress bgWorker.ReportProgress(0, i); // Reporting number of panels loaded } e.Result = imagePanel; // Send the result(a panel with lots of subpanels) as an argument } private void bgWorker_ProgressChanged(object sender, ProgressChangedEventArgs e) { this.progressBar.Value = (int)e.UserState; this.progressBar.Update(); } private void bgWorker_RunWorkerCompleted(object sender, RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs e) { if (e.Error == null) { this.panelHolder = (Panel)e.Result; } else { MessageBox.Show("An error occured, please try again"); } } } Instansiating an object of this class: public partial class Draw: Form { public Draw() { ProgressBar progressBarLoading = new ProgressBar(); // Set lots of properties on progressBarLoading Panel panelBigPanelContainer = new Panel(); Drawing drawer = new Drawing(ref progressBarLoading, ref panelBigPanelContainer); drawer.createDrawing(); // this makes the object start a new thread, loading all the panels into a panel container, while also sending the progress to this progressbar. } } Here is my problem: In the private void bgWorker_RunWorkerCompleted(object sender, RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs e) i don't get the e.Result as it should be. When i debug and look at the e.Result, the panel's properties have this exception message: '((System.Windows.Forms.Control)(e.Result)).ClientSize' threw an exception of type 'System.ObjectDisposedException' So the object gets disposed, but "why" is my question, and how can i fix this? I hope someone will answer me, this is making me crazy. Another question i have: Is it allowed to use "ref" with arguments? is it bad programming? Thanks in advance. I have also written how i understand the Background worker below here: This is what i think is the "rules" for background workers: bgWorker.RunWorkerAsync(); => starts a new thread. bgWorker_DoWork cannot reach the main thread without delegates - private void bgWorker_DoWork(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { // The work happens here, this is a thread that is not reachable by the main thread e.Result => This is an argument which can be reached by bgWorker_RunWorkerCompleted() bgWorker.ReportProgress(progressVar); => Reports the progress to the bgWorker_ProgressChanged() } - private void bgWorker_ProgressChanged(object sender, ProgressChangedEventArgs e) { // I get the progress here, and can do stuff to the main thread from here (e.g update a control) this.ProgressBar.Value = e.ProgressPercentage; } - private void bgWorker_RunWorkerCompleted(object sender, RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs e) { // This is where the thread is completed. // Here i can get e.Result from the bgWorker thread // From here i can reach controls in my main thread, and use e.Result in my main thread if (e.Error == null) { this.panelTileHolder = (Panel)e.Result; } else { MessageBox.Show("There was an error"); } }

  • Why only one video shows up in ASP.NET Video panel ?

    - by user284523
    It is possible to have multiple videos with Flowplayer http://flowplayer.org/demos/installation/multiple-players.html To do so in ASP.NET DYNAMICALLY, one has to use a Panel (see http://idevwebs.com/Default.aspx?id=25): <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <!-- A minimal Flowplayer setup to get you started --> <!-- include flowplayer JavaScript file that does Flash embedding and provides the Flowplayer API. --> <script type="text/javascript" src="flowplayer-3.1.4.min.js"></script> <!-- page title --> <title>Minimal Flowplayer setup</title> </head><body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div id="page"> <h1>Minimal Flowplayer setup</h1> <p>View commented source code to get familiar with Flowplayer installation.</p> <!-- this A tag is where your Flowplayer will be placed. it can be anywhere --> <!-- player #1 --> <asp:Panel ID="panelVideo" runat="server"> </asp:Panel> <!-- this will install flowplayer inside previous A- tag. --> <script type="text/javascript"> flowplayer("player", "flowplayer-3.1.5.swf"); </script> <!-- after this line is purely informational stuff. does not affect on Flowplayer functionality --> <p> If you are running these examples <strong>locally</strong> and not on some webserver you must edit your <a href="http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html"> Flash security settings</a>. </p> <p class="less"> Select "Edit locations" &gt; "Add location" &gt; "Browse for files" and select flowplayer-x.x.x.swf you just downloaded. </p> <h2>Documentation</h2> <p> <a href="http://flowplayer.org/documentation/installation/index.html">Flowplayer installation</a> </p> <p> <a href="http://flowplayer.org/documentation/configuration/index.html">Flowplayer configuration</a> </p> <p> See this identical page on <a href="http://flowplayer.org/demos/example/index.htm">Flowplayer website</a> </p> </div> </form> </body></html> and then add video anchor dynamically public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.panelVideo.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl("<a href=\"" + "http://blip.tv/file/get/" + "KimAronson-TwentySeconds58192" + ".flv\" style=\"display:block;width:388px;height:230px\" id=\"player\"></a>")); this.panelVideo.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl("<a href=\"" + "http://blip.tv/file/get/" + "KimAronson-TwentySeconds67463" + ".flv\" style=\"display:block;width:388px;height:230px\" id=\"player\"></a>")); } } But it works only partially as the first video shows up not both.   • Wires from fan on side panel - where do they connect?

    - by Mick
    The side panel of my desktop PC has a small fan built in. There were two wires, one red one black that connected inside the PC. Unfortunately I had the bolts removed and the side door fell off ripping the cables such that the main length of cable remains attached to the fan. So there must be two short stubs of broken cable somewhere - but I can't find them! Any ideas where I should look? I can't see anything on the motherboard. the PC is running perfectly well - but I now have the side open to make sure the air can circulate. EDIT: The motherboard appears to be an "Asus P6T SE" EDIT: The manual shows the location of two "chassis fan" connectors. One is being used by a big chassis fan on the back face of the PC (underneath the pwer supply). The other appears to be unused - there is no stub of a connector with wires - its just the bare pins sticking directly out of the motherboard. There is also an unused "pwr_fan" connector. Would it be ok to simply connect the black and red wires from the fan to the black and red parts of a molex adapter?

  • Dumb IE6 resize behaviour - hope it rings some bells with someone

    - by Ollie2893
    Hi, I'm having no end of fun (sic) with jQuery.tabs. The widget is quite crafty in that it turns basic HTML like so <div> <ul> <li>Tab #1</li> ... </ul> <div for panel #1> </div> <div for panel #2> </div> ... </div> into a cute tabbed dialogue. (It does so by restyling the UL and then toggling the "display" attribute for the panel DIVs to show/not show whatever panel is selected.) Now I found that I can spare myself a lot of trouble in my JS project if I insert a scrollable IFRAME into each panel. One usability problem I'm trying to ameliorate is that when the tabbed panel becomes larger than the browser's window, then the user ends up with too many scrollbars. I am trying to avoid this situation by linking the size of the tabbed panel to that of $(window). That is, I trap and process the resize event on $(window). To make my life bearable, all components are relatively sized. This is also true, in particular, of the IFRAMEs (100% width, 100% height). The only exception are the panel DIVs, which are of fixed height (in px). And this is the only dimension css attribute that I manipulate during my resize action. All of this works a treat in FF and Chrome, but IE6 is doing something rather cute: So long as I do not affect the width of the browser window (but only change its height), only the panel DIV changes in height; the IFRAME contained will not change. As a result of this behaviour, it is not possible to shorten the tabbed panel below the height of the IFRAME. I can lengthen the DIV, yes. But the IFRAME will not fill the panel in that case. All becomes good the moment I make the slightest change to the width of the browser window. In that moment, the IFRAME expands to catch up with the extended DIV or DIV and IFRAME contract in tandem. Bizarre. I inserted useless CSS instructions like "position: relative" and "zoom: 1". Also nudged the display with "display: block". No joy so far. Any ideas? Thanks.
