  • Unable to install gem "pg" on Ubuntu 12.10 (AMD64)

    I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to install the "pg" gem on my ruby 1.9.3-p286 but nothing seems to work. I've already installed postgresql (9.1), libpq-dev and a few others like postgresql-server-dev-9.1. I've tried to pass the "with-pg-config" flag to the gem install but simply nothing seems to work. Every time I try to install the gem it outputs something like this: Building native extensions. This could take a while...     If I add action within an extension point thus: <action class="com.mycompany.MyAction" id="mycompany.myaction.MyAction" menubarPath="actions" /> How can I control its ordering programatically? It looks like they are simply ordered alphabetically according to their ID. I don't want to have to give them names such as '001-z', '002-a', just to get 'z' to appear before 'a'. It would also be a nightmare re-ordering them later.

    Release notes say that ruby-debug is installed by default. I'm using rvm. In my rails app I figured something as simple as script/server --debugger would suffice, but it complains that the ruby-debug gem isn't installed, suggests using gem install ruby-debug, which of course doesn't work (building native extensions) and is contrary to the docs anyway. Just wondering if anyone's had any luck using the built in ruby-debug in jruby 1.5 and what one needs to do in order run jruby in debug mode

    Language : C++ Platform : Windows Server 2003 I have an exe calling a DLL, in which when I allocate (new) the memory for class A (which is in DLL) it returns me a non-local heap pointer. I try to new other classes which are in DLL and "new" returns a valid heap pointer for them, its only Class A which is not being allocated properly. I am on windows and validating the heap by this function call : _CrtIsValidHeapPointer ( (const void *) pPtr ) I am seriously confused why this only happens with new-ing Class A and no other class ? (All Native Code)
