  • How do I identify which MySQL slave has responded?

    - by Kynth
    I have a MySql Master server replicating to three Slaves. A legacy website is performing load-balanced Reads from the Slaves. Is there a method of identifying from the website which of the Slaves is serving a Read request? I'd prefer a function that I can use to return a server name or ip address as part of the SELECT, but any reasonable method will do. Thank you in advance.

  • How should i store availability calendar information in mysql? for [id] [date] [available/unavailab

    - by Haroldo
    I'm building a simple calendar for holiday cottages to show when they are booked or available. What would be the fastest mysql table design for this, bearing in mind when users mark dates as available/booked they will do so via a start date and an end date. i can see 2 obvious options Store 'booked' data for every day [more rows] or, store 'booked' data with 2 columns a start_date and end_date [more processing?] Which is best or is there another method i'm missing?

  • PHP - get MySQL query results as their native data type?

    - by redidas
    I've tried fetching MySQL query results using mysql_fetch_row() mysql_result() and numeric values are being returned as strings. Is there any way to fetch the data as its datatype stored in the table? The application will be querying many different queries so I will be unable to cast the values as the intended datatype on a 1 by 1 basis.

  • Which is more efficient in mysql, a big join or multiple queries of single table?

    - by Tom Greenpoint
    I have a mysql database like this Post – 500,000 rows (Postid,Userid) Photo – 200,000 rows (Photoid,Postid) About 50,000 posts have photos, average 4 each, most posts do not have photos. I need to get a feed of all posts with photos for a userid, average 50 posts each. Which approach would be more efficient? 1: Big Join select * from post left join photo on post.postid=photo.postid where post.userid=123 2: Multiple queries select * from post where userid=123 while (loop through rows) { select * from photo where postid=row[postid] }

I tried below but failed. $collection = Mage::getModel('customer/customer')->getCollection(); $collection->getSelect()->joinRight(array('l'=>'log_customer'), "customer_id=entity_id AND MAX(l.login_at) <= '" . date('Y-m-d H:i:s', strtotime('10 months ago')) . "'")->group('e.entity_id'); $collection->addAttributeToSelect('*'); $collection->addFieldToFilter('updated_at', array( 'lt' => date('Y-m-d H:i:s', strtotime('10 months ago')), 'datetime'=>true, )); $collection->addAttributeToFilter('group_id', array( 'neq' => 5, )); Above tables have one customer for reference. I have no idea how to use MAX() on joins. Thanks UPDATE: This seems returning correct data, but I would like to do magento way using resource collection, so i don't need to do load customer again on for loop. $read = Mage::getSingleton('core/resource')->getConnection('core_read'); $sql = "select * from ( select e.*,l.login_at from customer_entity as e left join log_customer as l on l.customer_id=e.entity_id group by e.entity_id order by l.login_at desc ) as l where ( l.login_at <= '".date('Y-m-d H:i:s', strtotime('10 months ago'))."' or ( l.created_at <= '".date('Y-m-d H:i:s', strtotime('10 months ago'))."' and l.login_at is NULL ) ) and group_id != 5"; $result = $read->fetchAll($sql); I have loaded full shell script to github https://github.com/dbashyal/Magento-ecommerce-Shell-Scripts/blob/master/shell/suspendCustomers.php
