  • How can I stop the flickering in Scriptaculous?

    I'm running this script on a page which shows a box with more information when you roll over it. site for review The script works fine, except theres a flicker of the box before it actually scales. What is causing this? I use the same thing in the main navigation with the same flicking.     I am busy writing a login page in Silverlight. I am using an Authentication Service that processes the logins and I am also creating a custom Membership and Roles providers. Everything is working but I need some assistance. I would like some advice on how to redirect the user to page they came from before they were pushed to the Login page. How does the concept of includes or merges work within the nanoc system? I have read the docs but I can't seem to find what I want. For example: how can I take two partial content items and merge them together into a new content item.     I'm hearing this alot, that you can develop an app in WPF and run it as a desktop app or in a browser. Is this really true? I've install visual studio 2010 and I see 2 project templates : WPF Windows Application and WPF Browser Application (XBAP). Currently reading a book on WPF, it talks about Page-Base app, which can be use for navigation. To creatre an app to run on your browser you have to use the WPF Browser Application. So if I start with WPF Windows Application template can I run it in a browser ? I am assuming not since most of my class will be Window and not Page ....

    I have a navigation bar that uses JQuery to move between 4 stages of signup process. However I need to make sure everything is working with JS disabled. So I have these 4 link images at the bottom of the page and I need so that if one is clicked it posts to the current action so I can save all the form data and then redirect to the next stage. The redirect is easy enough as I will just pass a parameter in the route or form but I don't know how to post the method using just action links. I could put 4 different submit buttons with different classes for the image backgrounds etc but this feels wrong. Any ideas?

I am using webservice to create Order in Oracle database and websvc will give a response (OrderNumber) and I will inform customer that his Order (OrderNumber) is generated My problem The creation of order is taking too much time in backend system and user is keeping refreshing the page, On each refresh user is coming back to Order create Page, so user is able to click on create Order button again In such cases multiple orders are creating for same orderlines.I can restrict user to create only one order per session in case I got order number in websvc response and I can give ordernumber to customer in next page But real problem come when I didn't get response(Ordernumber) and user is refreshing page. request is already went to Backend system and it will create order and my applicaion will not get response Is there any method in PHP where we can asyncronously check the status of order if first request is initiated by user and it doesn't matter the furthur page navigation Please help me out..   • Silverlight tests not working unless RDP connection open

    I have a few Silverlight UI tests that I'm automating with White. These tests are subsequently run by a TFS build agent, which is running interactively so it can access the desktop. The build passes if I have a Remote Desktop connection open to the build agent as the tests are run; I can see the mouse pointer moving around. When the test clicks on a HyperlinkButton navigation takes place, and is subsequently verified by assertions within the test. The build fails if I do not have a Remote Desktop connection open to the build agent as the tests are run. The Internet Explorer window is created and the Silverlight app loads, but no clicks happen; the application remains on the initial page and test assertions subsequently fail. Has anyone out there found a solution to this problem?

  • Delphi native Web Service applications not working. IIS 7 seems to be stripping the pathinfo

    I've run into an interesting problem that I never encountered with XP or IIS 6. Basically, I can't get a native Delphi (WebBroker) Web service server to work with a native Web service client in Windows 7 64-bit. Here's the most basic breakdown. If I create a new Web service application in Delphi 2010 (or any version, back to Delphi 7), and access it using IE 8, I can see the HTML that the WSDLHTMLPublish component creates, but I can never get to the SOAP. In the same way, the WSDL Importer cannot get to the SOAP either. (I have IIS 7 configured to use a 32-bit application pool, and I have created a working Script Map to the Handler Mappings. In short, the 32-bit ISAPI Web service is running). For example, I have a simple Web service server named TestService (created using the default sample interface generated when you create a new Web service server). I installed it in a virtual directory named scripts. If I enter http://localhost/scripts/TestService.dll/wsdl, IIS 7 displays the page http://localhost/scripts/TestService.dll. If I put my mouse over the WSDL link for the ITestService, I see http://localhost/scripts/TestService.dll/wsdl/ITestService in the status bar. However, when I click this link, the address bar shows http://localhost/scripts/TestService.dll/wsdl/ITestService, but I see only the HTML from http://localhost/scripts/TestService.dll. There seems no way to get to the SOAP definition. IIS 7 seems to be ignoring everything after the script name (it is ignoring the pathinfo). Additional evidence that IIS7 is stripping off the pathinfo is that if I pause my mouse over the ITestService link, the statusbar shows http://localhost/scripts/TestService.dll?intf=ITestService. Clicking that link takes me to another HTML page, the one associated with http://localhost/scripts/TestService.dll?intf=ITestService. However, any link that includes a pathinfo following the script name, takes me simply to http://localhost/scripts/TestService.dll. I have tested this in Delphi 7, Delphi 2010, and Delphi XE, with the same results. I am guessing that IIS7 is stripping off the pathinfo, since even the WSDL Importer cannot get to the SOAP definition. Tried creating a new Web service using the CGI option, and got the same result. Have any idea what is going on? Added: Bob Swart reports he has had no problems under Windows 7 32-bit. Downloading the 32-bit OS and will try that (in a new VM).

  • Slow performance when utilizing Interop.DSOFile to search files by Custom Document Property

    I am new to the world of VB.NET and have been tasked to put together a little program to search a directory of about 2000 Excel spreadsheets and put together a list to display based on the value of a Custom Document Property within that spreadsheet file. Given that I am far from a computer programmer by education or trade, this has been an adventure. I've gotten it to work, the results are fine. The problem is, it takes well over a minute to run. It is being run over a LAN connection. When I run it locally (using a 'test' directory of about 300 files) it executes in about 4 seconds. I'm not sure even what to expect as a reasonable execution speed, so I thought I would ask here. The code is below, if anyone thinks changes there might be of use in speeding things up.     As per the title. Calling [[UIDevice currentDevice] BeginGeneratingDeviceOrientationNotifications] has no effect. DidRotateToInterfaceOrientation etc events are working fine, but I need to be able to poll the device orientation arbitrarily. How can I fix/do this? The long story: I have a tab application with a navigation controller on each tab. The root view of tab number one is a graph that goes full screen when the orientation changes to landscape; however this needs to be checked whenever the view appears as the orientation change could have occurred elsewhere, so I was hoping to poll the orientation state whenever this view appears.

  • Entity Framework Custom T4 Template

    Hello, I am using the Entity Framework 4.0 and I am trying to extend my POCO classes generated by the standart T4 template with some custom properties. The classes which are generated by default from EF (without T4) contain 2 properties for every navigation property - NavigationPropertyId and navigationPropertyReference. What I am trying to do is basically extend the generated POCO class with an "Id" property of the foreign key object. I know that I can do that by editing the POCO t4 template. However I have no idea how I can populate/persist the property - I guess I have to somehow extend/modify the method than converts the object to a sql query and vice versa, but I have no idea where to start. Can anyone help? Edit: I just found out, that the EF team has planned to implement something like this - http://blogs.msdn.com/efdesign/archive/2010/03/10/poco-template-code-generation-options.aspx (see Basic POCO with/without Fixup), however this can take ages, so I rather implement it myself.

  • How to paste text from one app to another using Cocoa?

    I have read about NSPasteBoard in the Apple documentation, and how it allows for applications to write into the PasteBoard and allow other applications to read that text and use it. Could someone tell me how to paste text from am application (that sits in the status bar) into a NSTextField that is inside a different application. What I am trying to do is something similar what Snippet and SnippetsApp do. If I am completely stupid and missed the obvious in Apple Docs, could you please point me to the right path :) Thanks!
