Which SQL comparison tool would you recommend for SQL server database comparisons. I've been looking at SQL Compare and SQL Delta. I'd like the ability to compare and sync database schema and data.
Is there any integration of Phing with Eclipse PDT and if not, are there any plans to do so?
I found an eclipse plugin "PTI - PHP Tool Integration" that integrates php tools like PHP Depend, PHPUnit and others with the standard eclipse bundle. It may very well integrate phing at some stage. I haven't tried the plugin yet, does anyone have any infomation or good things to say about it?

Hi everyone !
Does anyone know if there is any tool or a way to apply automated unit testing in report studio and/or framework manager ?
When some regression tests are required and I need to run report by report, on the traditional way, it really bothers me.
Best regards,
Evandro
I need to move all the hard coded strings in my source code in .resx files. There is a tool that could help me find all the hardcoded strings within C# code?
It appears that the NetBeans UML plugin has been discontinued, as per a discussion on the NetBeans forums. This was a great, free tool with nice model-code and code-model generation.
There are a number of other UML NetBeans plugins out there. However, I've never used any of them. Any suggestions?
If I have a pure as3 project that I have been compiling with flex3 from mxmlc, is there any reason to switch to using the mxmlc with flex4?
I can use all of the flash 10 language features like Vector, 3D, etc., so that is not a reason to switch (or is there something I can't do?).
But maybe there is a performance boost? Or is the exact same compiling tool and the flex code base is the only difference?

The Scene: A (smallish) Form hosting a UserControl.
The Plot: Whenever UserControl raises a hover event, display some (graphical) information in a tool tip fashion. When the user moves the mouse, fade them away again.
Notes: I'd like to display more than one "tooltip", with each tooltip being a UserControl displaying information in a graphical manner. Not just text in a yellow box! Also, I'm using the Windows.Forms library.
I just ran across this point that references a security vulnerability in Web Apps that depends on looking at the size of encrypted web pages to deduce what the uses is doing. The simplest solution to this I can think of would be to use a tool to minify all static content so that (after encryption) only a small number of result sizes exist so as to minimize the information available to an eavesdropper.
Are there any tools for doing this?
I've used DbUnit but after playing about with the Play Framework recently I've found it's Fixtures.load(String yamlFilename) really useful. Anyone know of a similar tool that can be used with any Java project?
Simple problem. I have an SQL Server database (MyData.mdf) and I want to convert it to a Compact database. (MyData.sdf) Just can't find the proper tool which can do this for me.
And I would also be able to convert the compact database back to a regular SQL Server database...
Microsoft's FxCop tool uses the introspection API. This introspection API could be used to develop new code analysis tools. But the introspection api is not documented well. Additionally, I was not able to figure out any blogs which explains this API in breadth and depth of it. The knowledge gained by understanding the API can also be used for writing custom FxCop rules.
Does anybody knows about any blog or resources which explains the same?
Hi,
While working with DB, I find useful using some tools, that help me to solve DB problems.
Some of them are:
1) Insert generator
2) A tool that can execute a script on a list of DB's
3) Finding a text in stored procedures and functions.
4) DB Back up scripts
My question is, what are most useful tools, scripts(anything else), that help you to work with MS SQL?
Thanks in advance.

Can Entity Framework create incremental SQL scripts for updates? (or would you need to do this in a separate database tool)
(i.e. for my application updates I need to package the DB upgrade script that gets applied after download - windows forms type app)

Hi,
does extJS have any kind of visual filtering tool for its grids.
there are three sample criterias in the next line which are added by the user, and an x button to remove the criteria.
Sample Filter:
[Business Unit=Accounting-x] [Name like 'Jo*'-x] [Age between 25-33-x]
Personnel Grid (displaying the filtered data)
1 33 Josh Accounting
2 35 John Accounting
I am using jalava library as a diagram drawing tool.
It displays figures as images in order to maintain compatibility with majority of browsers.
When diagram block is being resized a request is being made and new gif image is generated and send to browser.
What I need is generating image of basic blocks, like rounded rectangle, circle, diamond with specified parameters (height, width and color).
I want to do all server-side; my server part is written on Perl.
We have a setup project that produces an uncompressed MSI file and no Setup.exe at all, to be later compressed by NSIS.
In a special build setting, I want to copy that MSI before it's being wrapped by NSIS, change the copy, and keep it. I would also like to compress it, after it has been created by the msbuild.
Is there a simple way (command line tool of some kind, maybe?) I can use to just compress an already created msi file?
Could somebody please tell me what is "Memory Page Out Rate".
I have seen this in "HP Open View" server monitoring tool and tried googling it.
Would appreciate if some expert can clarify.
If page out rate is too high as 200+ per second, can it crash the server?
Thanks in advance
I have a couple c++ utilities that I would like to port over to dot net. I was wondering if there are tools for porting a c++ application to c#?
I imagine that any automated tool would make a mess of any code, so perhaps, I should also be asking if this is a good idea or not?
