  • Best windows iphone app development alternative

    - by Nash0
What do you think is the best way to develop iphone apps on windows? What are the pros / cons of your method, and why do you use it over other options? How complex is your method in relation to other options? I am more interested in standalone and web apps but fell free to discuss gaming graphics. Yes I know you need to build on a mac to be able to put it on the app store, so no "use a mac" answers please.

  • Checking an empty Core Data relationship (SQLite)

    - by rwat
I have a to-many relationship in my data model, and I'd like to get all the objects that have no corresponding objects in the relationship. For example: Customer - Purchases I want to get all Customers that have 0 Purchases. I've read somewhere that I could use "Purchases[SIZE] = 0", but this gives me an unsupported function expression error, which I think means it doesn't work with a SQLite backing store (which I don't want to switch from, due to some performance constraints). Any ideas?

  • what means subject in certificate?

    - by George2
Hi guys, The related link is this MSDN article. I am always confused about the term "subject", for example, sk option "Specifies the subject's key container location", sr option "Specifies the subject's certificate store location". What exactly mean subject? The certificate owner? The certificate issuer (e.g. the root CA which issues the certificate)? Or something else? regards, George

  • Maps with a nested vector

    - by wawiti
    For some reason the compiler won't let me retrieve the vector of integers from the map that I've created, I want to be able to overwrite this vector with a new vector. The error the compiler gives me is ridiculous. Thanks for your help!! The compiler didn't like this part of my code: line_num = miss_words[word_1]; Error: [Wawiti@localhost Lab2]$ g++ -g -Wall *.cpp -o lab2 main.cpp: In function ‘int main(int, char**)’: main.cpp:156:49: error: no match for ‘operator=’ in ‘miss_words.std::map<_Key, _Tp, _Compare, _Alloc>::operator[]<std::basic_string<char>, std::vector<int>, std::less<std::basic_string<char> >, std::allocator<std::pair<const std::basic_string<char>, std::vector<int> > > >((*(const key_type*)(& word_1))) = line_num.std::vector<_Tp, _Alloc>::push_back<int, std::allocator<int> >((*(const value_type*)(& line)))’ main.cpp:156:49: note: candidate is: In file included from /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat->linux/4.7.2/../../../../include/c++/4.7.2vector:70:0, from header.h:19, from main.cpp:15: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.7.2/../../../../include/c++/4.7.2/bits/vector.tcc:161:5: note: std::vector<_Tp, _Alloc>& std::vector<_Tp, _Alloc>::operator=(const std::vector<_Tp, _Alloc>&) [with _Tp = int; _Alloc = std::allocator<int>] /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.7.2/../../../../include/c++/4.7.2/bits/vector.tcc:161:5: note: no known conversion for argument 1 from ‘void’ to ‘const std::vector<int>&’ CODE: map<string, vector<int> > miss_words; // Creates a map for misspelled words string word_1; // String for word; string sentence; // To store each line; vector<int> line_num; // To store line numbers ifstream file; // Opens file to be spell checked file.open(argv[2]); int line = 1; while(getline(file, sentence)) // Reads in file sentence by sentence { sentence=remove_punct(sentence); // Removes punctuation from sentence stringstream pars_sentence; // Creates stringstream pars_sentence << sentence; // Places sentence in a stringstream while(pars_sentence >> word_1) // Picks apart sentence word by word { if(dictionary.find(word_1)==dictionary.end()) { line_num = miss_words[word_1]; //Compiler doesn't like this miss_words[word_1] = line_num.push_back(line); } } line++; // Increments line marker }

  • storing original password text

    - by Richard
My application stores external website login/passwords for interaction with them. To interact with these website I need to use the original password text, so storing just the hash in my database is not going to work. How should I store these passwords?

  • How to backup data stored with Core Data - iPhone app?

    - by Alex
I'm using sqlite for the persistent store, so could I just upload the .sqlite file to, for example, Amazon S3 as a way of providing users with the ability to backup their app data? Then for restoring just download it back and replace the existing .sqlite file in the app's folder. Does anybody see any issues with that? Has anyone done it? Any other suggestions on how to implement data backup feature?

  • Serializing persistent/functional data structures

    - by Rob
Persistent data structures depend on the sharing of structure for efficiency. For an example, see here. How can I preserve the structure sharing when I serialize the data structures and write them to a file or database? If I just naively traverse the datastructures, I'll store the correct values, but I'll lose the structure sharing. I'd like to be able to save data-structures with shared components to a file, restore them, and still have most of the structure shared in the restored data.

  • FTP a text file to a server using VBA in Excel

    - by Anindya
I have an Excel worksheet where the user enters certain data, which I want to store in a text file and upload to a server using FTP. One site suggested adding a reference to "Microsoft Internet Transfer Control" and then define an "Inet" object to do the FTP. However, I am unable to find a reference with this name in "Tools - References" in the VB Editor. Does anyone know of a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance.

  • Can I access the keychain on the iPhone with MonoTouch?

    - by TrolleFar
Hello, I have recently started to develop applications for iPhone with MonoTouch and have to store user names and passwords on the phone. I want to use the keychain for this but can't find anything in the MonoTouch documentation about it. Is it possible to use it directly with MonoTouch or will I have to write some C++/C/Objective-C code that uses the keychain and export it to MonoTouch?

  • What is the display list in Flash 10? Array? Linked list?

    - by Typeoneerror
I'm working on a game that has many elements on stage, so I'm looking to optimize my loops. I know that Vector is faster than looping an array, but I'm also in some cases using: while (i < numChildren) getChildAt(i) ...to update sprites. My question is when I use getChildAt, is that accessing an Array or Vector or linked list or other? Should I instead store references to my objects in a Vector and loop through that instead?

  • DOM Storage and locks

    - by user535759
Since DOM storage and its equivalencies persist in between tabs and windows, I've thought about using it for message passing. The problem is that fetch and store are different operations, and therefore not atomic. I have models that rely on UUID generation, conflict resolutions, and beaconing to do the small subset of what I need to do, but my real question is this: Since the local storage is a shared memory resource, what are the locking mechanisms available for mutual access?

  • Does the java JFC hash table use seperate chaining resolution? Can I traverse each list in the table

    - by Matt
I have written a program to store a bunch of strings in a JFC hash table. There are defiantly collisions going on, but I don't really know how it is handling them. My ultimate goal is to print the number of occurrences of each string in the table, and traversing the bucket or list would work nicely. Or maybe counting the collisions? Or do you have another idea of how I could get a count of the elements?
