  • Move penetrating OBB out of another OBB to resolve collision

    - by Milo
    I'm working on collision resolution for my game. I just need a good way to get an object out of another object if it gets stuck. In this case a car. Here is a typical scenario. The red car is in the green object. How do I correctly get it out so the car can slide along the edge of the object as it should. I tried: if(buildings.size() > 0) { Entity e = buildings.get(0); Vector2D vel = new Vector2D(); vel.x = vehicle.getVelocity().x; vel.y = vehicle.getVelocity().y; vel.normalize(); while(vehicle.getRect().overlaps(e.getRect())) { vehicle.setCenter(vehicle.getCenterX() - vel.x * 0.1f, vehicle.getCenterY() - vel.y * 0.1f); } colided = true; } But that does not work too well. Is there some sort of vector I could calculate to use as the vector to move the car away from the object? Thanks Here is my OBB2D class: public class OBB2D { // Corners of the box, where 0 is the lower left. private Vector2D corner[] = new Vector2D[4]; private Vector2D center = new Vector2D(); private Vector2D extents = new Vector2D(); private RectF boundingRect = new RectF(); private float angle; //Two edges of the box extended away from corner[0]. private Vector2D axis[] = new Vector2D[2]; private double origin[] = new double[2]; public OBB2D(Vector2D center, float w, float h, float angle) { set(center,w,h,angle); } public OBB2D(float left, float top, float width, float height) { set(new Vector2D(left + (width / 2), top + (height / 2)),width,height,0.0f); } public void set(Vector2D center,float w, float h,float angle) { Vector2D X = new Vector2D( (float)Math.cos(angle), (float)Math.sin(angle)); Vector2D Y = new Vector2D((float)-Math.sin(angle), (float)Math.cos(angle)); X = X.multiply( w / 2); Y = Y.multiply( h / 2); corner[0] = center.subtract(X).subtract(Y); corner[1] = center.add(X).subtract(Y); corner[2] = center.add(X).add(Y); corner[3] = center.subtract(X).add(Y); computeAxes(); extents.x = w / 2; extents.y = h / 2; computeDimensions(center,angle); } private void computeDimensions(Vector2D center,float angle) { this.center.x = center.x; this.center.y = center.y; this.angle = angle; boundingRect.left = Math.min(Math.min(corner[0].x, corner[3].x), Math.min(corner[1].x, corner[2].x)); boundingRect.top = Math.min(Math.min(corner[0].y, corner[1].y),Math.min(corner[2].y, corner[3].y)); boundingRect.right = Math.max(Math.max(corner[1].x, corner[2].x), Math.max(corner[0].x, corner[3].x)); boundingRect.bottom = Math.max(Math.max(corner[2].y, corner[3].y),Math.max(corner[0].y, corner[1].y)); } public void set(RectF rect) { set(new Vector2D(rect.centerX(),rect.centerY()),rect.width(),rect.height(),0.0f); } // Returns true if other overlaps one dimension of this. private boolean overlaps1Way(OBB2D other) { for (int a = 0; a < axis.length; ++a) { double t = other.corner[0].dot(axis[a]); // Find the extent of box 2 on axis a double tMin = t; double tMax = t; for (int c = 1; c < corner.length; ++c) { t = other.corner[c].dot(axis[a]); if (t < tMin) { tMin = t; } else if (t > tMax) { tMax = t; } } // We have to subtract off the origin // See if [tMin, tMax] intersects [0, 1] if ((tMin > 1 + origin[a]) || (tMax < origin[a])) { // There was no intersection along this dimension; // the boxes cannot possibly overlap. return false; } } // There was no dimension along which there is no intersection. // Therefore the boxes overlap. return true; } //Updates the axes after the corners move.   • Finding the normal of OBB face with an OBB penetrating

    - by Milo
    Below is an illustration: I have an OBB in an OBB (see below for OBB2D code if needed). What I need to determine is, what face it is in, and what direction do I point the normal? The goal is to get the OBB out of the OBB so the normal needs to face outward of the OBB. How could I go about: Finding what face the line is penetrating given the 4 corners of the OBB and the class below: if we define dx=x2-x1 and dy=y2-y1, then the normals are (-dy, dx) and (dy, -dx). Which normal points outward of the OBB? Thanks public class OBB2D { // Corners of the box, where 0 is the lower left. private Vector2D corner[] = new Vector2D[4]; private Vector2D center = new Vector2D(); private Vector2D extents = new Vector2D(); private RectF boundingRect = new RectF(); private float angle; //Two edges of the box extended away from corner[0]. private Vector2D axis[] = new Vector2D[2]; private double origin[] = new double[2]; public OBB2D(Vector2D center, float w, float h, float angle) { set(center,w,h,angle); } public OBB2D(float left, float top, float width, float height) { set(new Vector2D(left + (width / 2), top + (height / 2)),width,height,0.0f); } public void set(Vector2D center,float w, float h,float angle) { Vector2D X = new Vector2D( (float)Math.cos(angle), (float)Math.sin(angle)); Vector2D Y = new Vector2D((float)-Math.sin(angle), (float)Math.cos(angle)); X = X.multiply( w / 2); Y = Y.multiply( h / 2); corner[0] = center.subtract(X).subtract(Y); corner[1] = center.add(X).subtract(Y); corner[2] = center.add(X).add(Y); corner[3] = center.subtract(X).add(Y); computeAxes(); extents.x = w / 2; extents.y = h / 2; computeDimensions(center,angle); } private void computeDimensions(Vector2D center,float angle) { this.center.x = center.x; this.center.y = center.y; this.angle = angle; boundingRect.left = Math.min(Math.min(corner[0].x, corner[3].x), Math.min(corner[1].x, corner[2].x)); boundingRect.top = Math.min(Math.min(corner[0].y, corner[1].y),Math.min(corner[2].y, corner[3].y)); boundingRect.right = Math.max(Math.max(corner[1].x, corner[2].x), Math.max(corner[0].x, corner[3].x)); boundingRect.bottom = Math.max(Math.max(corner[2].y, corner[3].y),Math.max(corner[0].y, corner[1].y)); } public void set(RectF rect) { set(new Vector2D(rect.centerX(),rect.centerY()),rect.width(),rect.height(),0.0f); } // Returns true if other overlaps one dimension of this. private boolean overlaps1Way(OBB2D other) { for (int a = 0; a < axis.length; ++a) { double t = other.corner[0].dot(axis[a]); // Find the extent of box 2 on axis a double tMin = t; double tMax = t; for (int c = 1; c < corner.length; ++c) { t = other.corner[c].dot(axis[a]); if (t < tMin) { tMin = t; } else if (t > tMax) { tMax = t; } } // We have to subtract off the origin // See if [tMin, tMax] intersects [0, 1] if ((tMin > 1 + origin[a]) || (tMax < origin[a])) { // There was no intersection along this dimension; // the boxes cannot possibly overlap. return false; } } // There was no dimension along which there is no intersection. // Therefore the boxes overlap. return true; } //Updates the axes after the corners move.   • How to create a simple adf dashboard application with EJB 3.0

    - by Rodrigues, Raphael
    In this month's Oracle Magazine, Frank Nimphius wrote a very good article about an Oracle ADF Faces dashboard application to support persistent user personalization. You can read this entire article clicking here. The idea in this article is to extend the dashboard application. My idea here is to create a similar dashboard application, but instead ADF BC model layer, I'm intending to use EJB3.0. There are just a one small trick here and I'll show you. I'm using the HR usual oracle schema. The steps are: 1. Create a ADF Fusion Application with EJB as a layer model 2. Generate the entities from table (I'm using Department and Employees only) 3. Create a new Session Bean. I called it: HRSessionEJB 4. Create a new method like that: public List getAllDepartmentsHavingEmployees(){ JpaEntityManager jpaEntityManager = (JpaEntityManager)em.getDelegate(); Query query = jpaEntityManager.createNamedQuery("Departments.allDepartmentsHavingEmployees"); JavaBeanResult.setQueryResultClass(query, AggregatedDepartment.class); return query.getResultList(); } 5. In the Departments entity, create a new native query annotation: @Entity @NamedQueries( { @NamedQuery(name = "Departments.findAll", query = "select o from Departments o") }) @NamedNativeQueries({ @NamedNativeQuery(name="Departments.allDepartmentsHavingEmployees", query = "select e.department_id, d.department_name , sum(e.salary), avg(e.salary) , max(e.salary), min(e.salary) from departments d , employees e where d.department_id = e.department_id group by e.department_id, d.department_name")}) public class Departments implements Serializable {...} 6. Create a new POJO called AggregatedDepartment: package oramag.sample.dashboard.model; import java.io.Serializable; import java.math.BigDecimal; public class AggregatedDepartment implements Serializable{ @SuppressWarnings("compatibility:5167698678781240729") private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private BigDecimal departmentId; private String departmentName; private BigDecimal sum; private BigDecimal avg; private BigDecimal max; private BigDecimal min; public AggregatedDepartment() { super(); } public AggregatedDepartment(BigDecimal departmentId, String departmentName, BigDecimal sum, BigDecimal avg, BigDecimal max, BigDecimal min) { super(); this.departmentId = departmentId; this.departmentName = departmentName; this.sum = sum; this.avg = avg; this.max = max; this.min = min; } public void setDepartmentId(BigDecimal departmentId) { this.departmentId = departmentId; } public BigDecimal getDepartmentId() { return departmentId; } public void setDepartmentName(String departmentName) { this.departmentName = departmentName; } public String getDepartmentName() { return departmentName; } public void setSum(BigDecimal sum) { this.sum = sum; } public BigDecimal getSum() { return sum; } public void setAvg(BigDecimal avg) { this.avg = avg; } public BigDecimal getAvg() { return avg; } public void setMax(BigDecimal max) { this.max = max; } public BigDecimal getMax() { return max; } public void setMin(BigDecimal min) { this.min = min; } public BigDecimal getMin() { return min; } } 7. Create the util java class called JavaBeanResult. The function of this class is to configure a native SQL query to return POJOs in a single line of code using the utility class. • Self-signed certificates for a known community

    - by costlow
    Recently announced changes scheduled for Java 7 update 51 (January 2014) have established that the default security slider will require code signatures and the Permissions Manifest attribute. Code signatures are a common practice recommended in the industry because they help determine that the code your computer will run is the same code that the publisher created. This post is written to help users that need to use self-signed certificates without involving a public Certificate Authority. The role of self-signed certificates within a known community You may still use self-signed certificates within a known community. The difference between self-signed and purchased-from-CA is that your users must import your self-signed certificate to indicate that it is valid, whereas Certificate Authorities are already trusted by default. This works for known communities where people will trust that my certificate is mine, but does not scale widely where I cannot actually contact or know the systems that will need to trust my certificate. Public Certificate Authorities are widely trusted already because they abide by many different requirements and frequent checks. An example would be students in a university class sharing their public certificates on a mailing list or web page, employees publishing on the intranet, or a system administrator rolling certificates out to end-users. Managed machines help this because you can automate the rollout, but they are not required -- the major point simply that people will trust and import your certificate. How to distribute self-signed certificates for a known community There are several steps required to distribute a self-signed certificate to users so that they will properly trust it. These steps are: Creating a public/private key pair for signing. Exporting your public certificate for others Importing your certificate onto machines that should trust you Verify work on a different machine Creating a public/private key pair for signing Having a public/private key pair will give you the ability both to sign items yourself and issue a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) to a certificate authority. Create your public/private key pair by following the instructions for creating key pairs.Every Certificate Authority that I looked at provided similar instructions, but for the sake of cohesiveness I will include the commands that I used here: Generate the key pair.keytool -genkeypair -alias erikcostlow -keyalg EC -keysize 571 -validity 730 -keystore javakeystore_keepsecret.jks Provide a good password for this file. The alias "erikcostlow" is my name and therefore easy to remember. Substitute your name of something like "mykey." The sigalg of EC (Elliptical Curve) and keysize of 571 will give your key a good strong lifetime. All keys are set to expire. Two years or 730 days is a reasonable compromise between not-long-enough and too-long. Most public Certificate Authorities will sign something for one to five years. You will be placing your keys in javakeystore_keepsecret.jks -- this file will contain private keys and therefore should not be shared. If someone else gets these private keys, they can impersonate your signature. Please be cautious about automated cloud backup systems and private key stores. Answer all the questions. It is important to provide good answers because you will stick with them for the "-validity" days that you specified above.What is your first and last name?  [Unknown]:  First LastWhat is the name of your organizational unit?  [Unknown]:  Line of BusinessWhat is the name of your organization?  [Unknown]:  MyCompanyWhat is the name of your City or Locality?  [Unknown]:  City NameWhat is the name of your State or Province?  [Unknown]:  CAWhat is the two-letter country code for this unit?  [Unknown]:  USIs CN=First Last, OU=Line of Business, O=MyCompany, L=City, ST=CA, C=US correct?  [no]:  yesEnter key password for <erikcostlow>        (RETURN if same as keystore password): Verify your work:keytool -list -keystore javakeystore_keepsecret.jksYou should see your new key pair. Exporting your public certificate for others Public Key Infrastructure relies on two simple concepts: the public key may be made public and the private key must be private. By exporting your public certificate, you are able to share it with others who can then import the certificate to trust you. keytool -exportcert -keystore javakeystore_keepsecret.jks -alias erikcostlow -file erikcostlow.cer To verify this, you can open the .cer file by double-clicking it on most operating systems. It should show the information that you entered during the creation prompts. This is the file that you will share with others. They will use this certificate to prove that artifacts signed by this certificate came from you. If you do not manage machines directly, place the certificate file on an area that people within the known community should trust, such as an intranet page. Import the certificate onto machines that should trust you In order to trust the certificate, people within your known network must import your certificate into their keystores. The first step is to verify that the certificate is actually yours, which can be done through any band: email, phone, in-person, etc. Known networks can usually do this Determine the right keystore: For an individual user looking to trust another, the correct file is within that user’s directory.e.g. USER_HOME\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs For system-wide installations, Java’s Certificate Authorities are in JAVA_HOMEe.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jre8\lib\security\cacerts File paths for Mac and Linux are included in the link above. Follow the instructions to import the certificate into the keystore. keytool -importcert -keystore THEKEYSTOREFROMABOVE -alias erikcostlow -file erikcostlow.cer In this case, I am still using my name for the alias because it’s easy for me to remember. You may also use an alias of your company name. Scaling distribution of the import The easiest way to apply your certificate across many machines is to just push the .certs or cacerts file onto them. When doing this, watch out for any changes that people would have made to this file on their machines. Trusted.certs: When publishing into user directories, your file will overwrite any keys that the user has added since last update. CACerts: It is best to re-run the import command with each installation rather than just overwriting the file. If you just keep the same cacerts file between upgrades, you will overwrite any CAs that have been added or removed. By re-importing, you stay up to date with changes. Verify work on a different machine Verification is a way of checking on the client machine to ensure that it properly trusts signed artifacts after you have added your signing certificate. Many people have started using deployment rule sets. You can validate the deployment rule set by: Create and sign the deployment rule set on the computer that holds the private key. Copy the deployment rule set on to the different machine where you have imported the signing certificate. Verify that the Java Control Panel’s security tab shows your deployment rule set. Verifying an individual JAR file or multiple JAR files You can test a certificate chain by using the jarsigner command. jarsigner -verify filename.jar If the output does not say "jar verified" then run the following command to see why: jarsigner -verify -verbose -certs filename.jar Check the output for the term “CertPath not validated.”

  • Why you need to learn async in .NET

    - by PSteele
    I had an opportunity to teach a quick class yesterday about what’s new in .NET 4.0.  One of the topics was the TPL (Task Parallel Library) and how it can make async programming easier.  I also stressed that this is the direction Microsoft is going with for C# 5.0 and learning the TPL will greatly benefit their understanding of the new async stuff.  We had a little time left over and I was able to show some code that uses the Async CTP to accomplish some stuff, but it wasn’t a simple demo that you could jump in to and understand so I thought I’d thrown one together and put it in a blog post. The entire solution file with all of the sample projects is located here. A Simple Example Let’s start with a super-simple example (WindowsApplication01 in the solution). I’ve got a form that displays a label and a button.  When the user clicks the button, I want to start displaying the current time for 15 seconds and then stop. What I’d like to write is this: lblTime.ForeColor = Color.Red; for (var x = 0; x < 15; x++) { lblTime.Text = DateTime.Now.ToString("HH:mm:ss"); Thread.Sleep(1000); } lblTime.ForeColor = SystemColors.ControlText; (Note that I also changed the label’s color while counting – not quite an ILM-level effect, but it adds something to the demo!) As I’m sure most of my readers are aware, you can’t write WinForms code this way.  WinForms apps, by default, only have one thread running and it’s main job is to process messages from the windows message pump (for a more thorough explanation, see my Visual Studio Magazine article on multithreading in WinForms).  If you put a Thread.Sleep in the middle of that code, your UI will be locked up and unresponsive for those 15 seconds.  Not a good UX and something that needs to be fixed.  Sure, I could throw an “Application.DoEvents()” in there, but that’s hacky. The Windows Timer Then I think, “I can solve that.  I’ll use the Windows Timer to handle the timing in the background and simply notify me when the time has changed”.  Let’s see how I could accomplish this with a Windows timer (WindowsApplication02 in the solution): public partial class Form1 : Form { private readonly Timer clockTimer; private int counter;   public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); clockTimer = new Timer {Interval = 1000}; clockTimer.Tick += UpdateLabel; }   private void UpdateLabel(object sender, EventArgs e) { lblTime.Text = DateTime.Now.ToString("HH:mm:ss"); counter++; if (counter == 15) { clockTimer.Enabled = false; lblTime.ForeColor = SystemColors.ControlText; } }   private void cmdStart_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { lblTime.ForeColor = Color.Red; counter = 0; clockTimer.Start(); } } Holy cow – things got pretty complicated here.  I use the timer to fire off a Tick event every second.  Inside there, I can update the label.  Granted, I can’t use a simple for/loop and have to maintain a global counter for the number of iterations.  And my “end” code (when the loop is finished) is now buried inside the bottom of the Tick event (inside an “if” statement).  I do, however, get a responsive application that doesn’t hang or stop repainting while the 15 seconds are ticking away. But doesn’t .NET have something that makes background processing easier? The BackgroundWorker Next I try .NET’s BackgroundWorker component – it’s specifically designed to do processing in a background thread (leaving the UI thread free to process the windows message pump) and allows updates to be performed on the main UI thread (WindowsApplication03 in the solution): public partial class Form1 : Form { private readonly BackgroundWorker worker;   public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); worker = new BackgroundWorker {WorkerReportsProgress = true}; worker.DoWork += StartUpdating; worker.ProgressChanged += UpdateLabel; worker.RunWorkerCompleted += ResetLabelColor; }   private void StartUpdating(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { var workerObject = (BackgroundWorker) sender; for (int x = 0; x < 15; x++) { workerObject.ReportProgress(0); Thread.Sleep(1000); } }   private void UpdateLabel(object sender, ProgressChangedEventArgs e) { lblTime.Text = DateTime.Now.ToString("HH:mm:ss"); }   private void ResetLabelColor(object sender, RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs e) { lblTime.ForeColor = SystemColors.ControlText; }   private void cmdStart_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { lblTime.ForeColor = Color.Red; worker.RunWorkerAsync(); } } Well, this got a little better (I think).  At least I now have my simple for/next loop back.  Unfortunately, I’m still dealing with event handlers spread throughout my code to co-ordinate all of this stuff in the right order. Time to look into the future. The async way Using the Async CTP, I can go back to much simpler code (WindowsApplication04 in the solution): private async void cmdStart_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { lblTime.ForeColor = Color.Red; for (var x = 0; x < 15; x++) { lblTime.Text = DateTime.Now.ToString("HH:mm:ss"); await TaskEx.Delay(1000); } lblTime.ForeColor = SystemColors.ControlText; } This code will run just like the Timer or BackgroundWorker versions – fully responsive during the updates – yet is way easier to implement.  In fact, it’s almost a line-for-line copy of the original version of this code.  All of the async plumbing is handled by the compiler and the framework.  My code goes back to representing the “what” of what I want to do, not the “how”. I urge you to download the Async CTP.  All you need is .NET 4.0 and Visual Studio 2010 sp1 – no need to set up a virtual machine with the VS2011 beta (unless, of course, you want to dive right in to the C# 5.0 stuff!).  Starting playing around with this today and see how much easier it will be in the future to write async-enabled applications.

  • Automatically create bug resolution task using the TFS 2010 API

    - by Bob Hardister
    My customer requires bug resolution to be approved and tracked.  To minimize the overhead for developers I implemented a TFS 2010 server-side plug-in to automatically create a child resolution task for the bug when the “CCB” field is set to approved. The CCB field is a custom field.  I also added the story points field to the bug WIT for sizing purposes. Redundant tasks will not be created unless the bug title is changed or the prior task is closed. The program writes an audit trail to a log file visible in the TFS Admin Console Log view. Here’s the code. BugAutoTask.cs /* SPECIFICATION * When the CCB field on the bug is set to approved, create a child task where the task: * name = Resolve bug [ID] - [Title of bug] * assigned to = same as assigned to field on the bug * same area path * same iteration path * activity = Bug Resolution * original estimate = bug points * * The source code is used to build a dll (Ows.TeamFoundation.BugAutoTaskCreation.PlugIns.dll), * which needs to be copied to * C:\Program Files\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010\Application Tier\Web Services\bin\Plugins * on ALL TFS application-tier servers. * * Author: Bob Hardister. */ using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.IO; using System.Xml; using System.Text; using System.Diagnostics; using System.Linq; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Common; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Framework.Server; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Server; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client; using System.Collections; namespace BugAutoTaskCreation { public class BugAutoTask : ISubscriber { public EventNotificationStatus ProcessEvent(TeamFoundationRequestContext requestContext, NotificationType notificationType, object notificationEventArgs, out int statusCode, out string statusMessage, out ExceptionPropertyCollection properties) { statusCode = 0; properties = null; statusMessage = String.Empty; // Error message for for tracing last code executed and optional fields string lastStep = "No field values found or set "; try { if ((notificationType == NotificationType.Notification) && (notificationEventArgs.GetType() == typeof(WorkItemChangedEvent))) { WorkItemChangedEvent workItemChange = (WorkItemChangedEvent)notificationEventArgs; // see ConnectToTFS() method below to select which TFS instance/collection // to connect to TfsTeamProjectCollection tfs = ConnectToTFS(); WorkItemStore wiStore = tfs.GetService<WorkItemStore>(); lastStep = lastStep + ": connection to TFS successful "; // Get the work item that was just changed by the user. • WPF DataContext does not refresh the DataGrid using MVVM model

    - by vikram bhatia
    Project Overview I have a view which binds to a viewmodel containing 2 ObserverableCollection. The viewmodel constructor populates the first ObserverableCollection and the view datacontext is collected to bind to it through a public property called Sites. Later the 2ed ObserverableCollection is populated in the LoadOrders method and the public property LoadFraudResults is updated for binding it with datacontext. I am using WCF to pull the data from the database and its getting pulled very nicely. VIEWMODEL SOURCE class ManageFraudOrderViewModel:ViewModelBase { #region Fields private readonly ICollectionView collectionViewSites; private readonly ICollectionView collectionView; private ObservableCollection<GeneralAdminService.Website> _sites; private ObservableCollection<FraudService.OrderQueue> _LoadFraudResults; #endregion #region Properties public ObservableCollection<GeneralAdminService.Website> Sites { get { return this._sites; } } public ObservableCollection<FraudService.OrderQueue> LoadFraudResults { get { return this._LoadFraudResults;} } #endregion public ManageFraudOrderViewModel() { //Get values from wfc service model GeneralAdminService.GeneralAdminServiceClient generalAdminServiceClient = new GeneralAdminServiceClient(); GeneralAdminService.Website[] websites = generalAdminServiceClient.GetWebsites(); //Get values from wfc service model if (websites.Length > 0) { _sites = new ObservableCollection<Wqn.Administration.UI.GeneralAdminService.Website>(); foreach (GeneralAdminService.Website website in websites) { _sites.Add((Wqn.Administration.UI.GeneralAdminService.Website)website); } this.collectionViewSites= CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView(this._sites); } generalAdminServiceClient.Close(); } public void LoadOrders(Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.Website website) { //Get values from wfc service model FraudServiceClient fraudServiceClient = new FraudServiceClient(); FraudService.OrderQueue[] OrderQueue = fraudServiceClient.GetFraudOrders(website); //Get values from wfc service model if (OrderQueue.Length > 0) { _LoadFraudResults = new ObservableCollection<Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.OrderQueue>(); foreach (FraudService.OrderQueue orderQueue in OrderQueue) { _LoadFraudResults.Add(orderQueue); } } this.collectionViewSites= CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView(this._LoadFraudResults); fraudServiceClient.Close(); } } VIEW SOURCE public partial class OrderQueueControl : UserControl { private ManageFraudOrderViewModel manageFraudOrderViewModel ; private OrderQueue orderQueue; private ButtonAction ButtonAction; private DispatcherTimer dispatcherTimer; public OrderQueueControl() { LoadOrderQueueForm(); } #region LoadOrderQueueForm private void LoadOrderQueueForm() { //for binding the first observablecollection manageFraudOrderViewModel = new ManageFraudOrderViewModel(); this.DataContext = manageFraudOrderViewModel; } #endregion private void cmbWebsite_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { BindItemsSource(); } #region BindItemsSource private void BindItemsSource() { using (OverrideCursor cursor = new OverrideCursor(Cursors.Wait)) { if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(Convert.ToString(cmbWebsite.SelectedItem))) { Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.Website website = (Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.Website)Enum.Parse(typeof(Wqn.Administration.UI.FraudService.Website),cmbWebsite.SelectedItem.ToString()); //for binding the second observablecollection******* manageFraudOrderViewModel.LoadOrders(website); this.DataContext = manageFraudOrderViewModel; //for binding the second observablecollection******* } } } #endregion } XAML ComboBox x:Name="cmbWebsite" ItemsSource="{Binding Sites}" Margin="5" Width="100" Height="25" SelectionChanged="cmbWebsite_SelectionChanged" DataGrid ItemsSource ={Binding Path = LoadFraudResults} PROBLEM AREA: When I call the LoadOrderQueueForm to bind the first observablecollection and later BindItemsSource to bind 2ed observable collection, everything works fine and no problem for the first time binding. But, when I call BindItemsSource again to repopulate the obseravablecollection based on changed selected combo value via cmbWebsite_SelectionChanged, the observalblecollection gets populated with new value and LoadFraudResults property in viewmodule is populated with new values; but when i call the datacontext to rebind the datagrid,the datagrid does not reflect the changed values. In other words the datagrid doesnot get changed when the datacontext is called the 2ed time in BindItemsSource method of the view. manageFraudOrderViewModel.LoadOrders(website); this.DataContext = manageFraudOrderViewModel; manageFraudOrderViewModel values are correct but the datagrid is not relected with changed values. Please help as I am stuck with this thing for past 2 days and the deadline is approaching near. Thanks in advance

  • Problem with socket communication between C# and Flex

    - by Chris Lee
    Hi all, I am implementing a simulated b/s stock data system. I am using flex and c# for client and server sides. I found flash has a security policy and I handled the policy-file-request in my server code. But seems it doesn't work, because the code jumped out at "socket.Receive(b)" after connection. I've tried sending message on client in the connection handler, in that case the server can receive correct message. But the auto-generated "policy-file-request" can never be received, and the client can get no data sending from server. Here I put my code snippet. my ActionScript code: public class StockClient extends Sprite { private var hostName:String = "192.168.84.103"; private var port:uint = 55555; private var socket:XMLSocket; public function StockClient() { socket = new XMLSocket(); configureListeners(socket); socket.connect(hostName, port); } public function send(data:Object) : void{ socket.send(data); } private function configureListeners(dispatcher:IEventDispatcher):void { dispatcher.addEventListener(Event.CLOSE, closeHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(Event.CONNECT, connectHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, ioErrorHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, progressHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(SecurityErrorEvent.SECURITY_ERROR, securityErrorHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.SOCKET_DATA, dataHandler); } private function closeHandler(event:Event):void { trace("closeHandler: " + event); } private function connectHandler(event:Event):void { trace("connectHandler: " + event); //following testing message can be received, but client can't invoke data handler //send("<policy-file-request/>"); } private function dataHandler(event:ProgressEvent):void { //never fired trace("dataHandler: " + event); } private function ioErrorHandler(event:IOErrorEvent):void { trace("ioErrorHandler: " + event); } private function progressHandler(event:ProgressEvent):void { trace("progressHandler loaded:" + event.bytesLoaded + " total: " + event.bytesTotal); } private function securityErrorHandler(event:SecurityErrorEvent):void { trace("securityErrorHandler: " + event); } } my C# code: const int PORT_NUMBER = 55555; const String BEGIN_REQUEST = "begin"; const String END_REQUEST = "end"; const String POLICY_REQUEST = "<policy-file-request/>\u0000"; const String POLICY_FILE = "<?xml version=\"1.0\"?>\n" + "<!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM \"http://www.adobe.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd\">\n" + "<cross-domain-policy> \n" + " <allow-access-from domain=\"*\" to-ports=\"55555\"/> \n" + "</cross-domain-policy>\u0000"; ................ private void startListening() { provider = new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp); provider.Bind(new IPEndPoint(IPAddress.Parse("192.168.84.103"), PORT_NUMBER)); provider.Listen(10); isListened = true; while (isListened) { Socket socket = provider.Accept(); Console.WriteLine("connect!"); byte[] b = new byte[1024]; int receiveLength = 0; try { // code jump out at this statement receiveLength = socket.Receive(b); } catch (Exception e) { Debug.WriteLine(e.ToString()); } String request = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetString(b, 0, receiveLength); Console.WriteLine("request:"+request); if (request == POLICY_REQUEST) { socket.Send(Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(POLICY_FILE)); Console.WriteLine("response:" + POLICY_FILE); } else if (request == END_REQUEST) { Dispose(socket); } else { StartSocket(socket); break; } } } Sorry for the long code, please someone help with it, thanks a million

  • Why does windows XP minimize my swing full screen window on my second screen ?

I did this using a code similar to the one you'll find below... Be, as soon as I click in a window opened by windows explorer, or as soon as I open windows explorer (i'm using windows XP), the full screen window is minimized... • Spring Security and the Synchronizer Token J2EE pattern, problem when authentication fails.

    - by dfuse
    Hey, we are using Spring Security 2.0.4. We have a TransactionTokenBean which generates a unique token each POST, the bean is session scoped. The token is used for the duplicate form submission problem (and security). The TransactionTokenBean is called from a Servlet filter. Our problem is the following, after a session timeout occured, when you do a POST in the application Spring Security redirects to the logon page, saving the original request. After logging on again the TransactionTokenBean is created again, since it is session scoped, but then Spring forwards to the originally accessed url, also sending the token that was generated at that time. Since the TransactionTokenBean is created again, the tokens do not match and our filter throws an Exception. I don't quite know how to handle this elegantly, (or for that matter, I can't even fix it with a hack), any ideas? This is the code of the TransactionTokenBean: public class TransactionTokenBean implements Serializable { public static final int TOKEN_LENGTH = 8; private RandomizerBean randomizer; private transient Logger logger; private String expectedToken; public String getUniqueToken() { return expectedToken; } public void init() { resetUniqueToken(); } public final void verifyAndResetUniqueToken(String actualToken) { verifyUniqueToken(actualToken); resetUniqueToken(); } public void resetUniqueToken() { expectedToken = randomizer.getRandomString(TOKEN_LENGTH, RandomizerBean.ALPHANUMERICS); getLogger().debug("reset token to: " + expectedToken); } public void verifyUniqueToken(String actualToken) { if (getLogger().isDebugEnabled()) { getLogger().debug("verifying token. expected=" + expectedToken + ", actual=" + actualToken); } if (expectedToken == null || actualToken == null || !isValidToken(actualToken)) { throw new IllegalArgumentException("missing or invalid transaction token"); } if (!expectedToken.equals(actualToken)) { throw new InvalidTokenException(); } } private boolean isValidToken(String actualToken) { return StringUtils.isAlphanumeric(actualToken); } public void setRandomizer(RandomizerBean randomizer) { this.randomizer = randomizer; } private Logger getLogger() { if (logger == null) { logger = Logger.getLogger(TransactionTokenBean.class); } return logger; } } and this is the Servlet filter (ignore the Ajax stuff): public class SecurityFilter implements Filter { static final String AJAX_TOKEN_PARAM = "ATXTOKEN"; static final String TOKEN_PARAM = "TXTOKEN"; private WebApplicationContext webApplicationContext; private Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(SecurityFilter.class); public void init(FilterConfig config) { setWebApplicationContext(WebApplicationContextUtils.getWebApplicationContext(config.getServletContext())); } public void destroy() { } public void doFilter(ServletRequest req, ServletResponse response, FilterChain chain) throws IOException, ServletException { HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) req; if (isPostRequest(request)) { if (isAjaxRequest(request)) { log("verifying token for AJAX request " + request.getRequestURI()); getTransactionTokenBean(true).verifyUniqueToken(request.getParameter(AJAX_TOKEN_PARAM)); } else { log("verifying and resetting token for non-AJAX request " + request.getRequestURI()); getTransactionTokenBean(false).verifyAndResetUniqueToken(request.getParameter(TOKEN_PARAM)); } } chain.doFilter(request, response); } private void log(String line) { if (logger.isDebugEnabled()) { logger.debug(line); } } private boolean isPostRequest(HttpServletRequest request) { return "POST".equals(request.getMethod().toUpperCase()); } private boolean isAjaxRequest(HttpServletRequest request) { return request.getParameter("AJAXREQUEST") != null; } private TransactionTokenBean getTransactionTokenBean(boolean ajax) { return (TransactionTokenBean) webApplicationContext.getBean(ajax ? "ajaxTransactionTokenBean" : "transactionTokenBean"); } void setWebApplicationContext(WebApplicationContext context) { this.webApplicationContext = context; } }

I have tried actually putting a try-catch statement into the code as you will see below, but I can't get the compiler to get past that. import java.io.*; public class DirectoryStatistics extends DirectorySize { /* Dan Czarnecki October 24, 2013 Class variables: private File directory A File object that holds the pathname of the directory to look in private long sizeInBytes A variable of type long that holds the size of a file/directory (in bytes) private long fileCount A variable of type long that holds the number of files in a directory Constructors: public DirectoryStatistics(File startingDirectory) throws FileNotFoundException Creates a DirectoryStatistics object, given a pathname (inherited from DirectorySize class), and has 3 instance variables that hold the directory to search in, the size of each file (in bytes), and the number of files within the directory Modification history: October 24, 2013 Original version of class */ private File directory; private long sizeInBytes; private long fileCount; public DirectoryStatistics(File startingDirectory) throws FileNotFoundException { super(startingDirectory); try { if(directory == null) { throw new IllegalArgumentException("null input"); } if(directory.isDirectory() == false) { throw new FileNotFoundException("the following input is not a directory!"); } } catch(IOException ioe) { System.out.println("You have not entered a directory. Please try again."); } } public File getDirectory() { return this.directory; } public long getSizeInBytes() { return this.sizeInBytes; } public long getFileCount() { return this.fileCount; } public long setFileCount(long size) { fileCount = size; return size; } public long setSizeInBytes(long size) { sizeInBytes = size; return size; } public void incrementFileCount() { fileCount = fileCount + 1; } public void addToSizeInBytes(long addend) { sizeInBytes = sizeInBytes + addend; } public String toString() { return "Directory" + this.directory + "Size (in bytes) " + this.sizeInBytes + "Number of files: " + this.fileCount; } public int hashCode() { return this.directory.hashCode(); } public boolean equals(DirectoryStatistics other) { return this.equals(other); } } import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class DirectorySize extends DirectoryProcessor { /* Dan Czarnecki October 17, 2013 Class variables: private Vector<Long> directorySizeList Variable of type Vector<Long> that holds the total file size of files in that directory as well as files within folders of that directory private Vector<File> currentFile Variable of type Vector<File> that holds the parent directory Constructors: public DirectorySize(File startingDirectory) throws FileNotFoundException Creates a DirectorySize object, takes in a pathname (inherited from DirectoryProcessor class, and has a single vector of a DirectoryStatistics object to hold the files and folders within a directory Modification History October 17, 2013 Original version of class Implemented run() and processFile() methods */ private Vector<DirectoryStatistics> directory; /* private Vector<Long> directorySizeList; private Vector<File> currentFile; */ public DirectorySize(File startingDirectory) throws FileNotFoundException { super(startingDirectory); directory = new Vector<DirectoryStatistics>(); } public void processFile(File file) { DirectoryStatistics parent; int index; File parentFile; System.out.println(file.getName()); System.out.println(file.getParent()); parentFile = file.getParentFile(); parent = new DirectoryStatistics(parentFile); System.out.println(parent); parent.equals(parent); index = directory.indexOf(parent); if(index == 0) { directory.elementAt(index).addToSizeInBytes(file.length()); directory.elementAt(index).incrementFileCount(); } if(index < 0) { directory.addElement(parent); directory.lastElement().setSizeInBytes(file.length()); directory.lastElement().incrementFileCount(); } Could someone tell me why I'm getting this issue?

  • A ResetBindings on a BindingSource of a Grid also resets ComboBox

    - by Tetsuo
    Hi there, I have a DataGridView with a BindingSource of products. This products have an enum (Producer). For the most text fields (to edit the product) below the DataGridView I have a method RefreshProduct which does a ResetBindings in the end to refresh the DataGridView. There is a ComboBox (cboProducer), too. If I run over the _orderBs.ResetBindings(false) it will reset my cboProducer outside the DataGridView, too. Could you please help me to avoid this? Here follows some code; maybe it is then better to understand. public partial class SelectProducts : UserControl { private AutoCompleteStringCollection _productCollection; private ProductBL _productBL; private OrderBL _orderBL; private SortableBindingList<ProductBE> _listProducts; private ProductBE _selectedProduct; private OrderBE _order; BindingSource _orderBs = new BindingSource(); public SelectProducts() { InitializeComponent(); if (_productBL == null) _productBL = new ProductBL(); if (_orderBL == null) _orderBL = new OrderBL(); if (_productCollection == null) _productCollection = new AutoCompleteStringCollection(); if (_order == null) _order = new OrderBE(); if (_listProducts == null) { _listProducts = _order.ProductList; _orderBs.DataSource = _order; grdOrder.DataSource = _orderBs; grdOrder.DataMember = "ProductList"; } } private void cmdGetProduct_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { ProductBE product = _productBL.Load(txtProductNumber.Text); _listProducts.Add(product); _orderBs.ResetBindings(false); } private void grdOrder_SelectionChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (grdOrder.SelectedRows.Count > 0) { _selectedProduct = (ProductBE)((DataGridView)(sender)).CurrentRow.DataBoundItem; if (_selectedProduct != null) { txtArticleNumber.Text = _selectedProduct.Article; txtPrice.Text = _selectedProduct.Price.ToString("C"); txtProducerNew.Text = _selectedProduct.ProducerText; cboProducer.DataSource = Enum.GetValues(typeof(Producer)); cboProducer.SelectedItem = _selectedProduct.Producer; } } } private void txtProducerNew_Leave(object sender, EventArgs e) { string property = CommonMethods.GetPropertyName(() => new ProductBE().ProducerText); RefreshProduct(((TextBoxBase)sender).Text, property); } private void RefreshProduct(object value, string property) { if (_selectedProduct != null) { double valueOfDouble; if (double.TryParse(value.ToString(), out valueOfDouble)) { value = valueOfDouble; } Type type = _selectedProduct.GetType(); PropertyInfo info = type.GetProperty(property); if (info.PropertyType.BaseType == typeof(Enum)) { value = Enum.Parse(info.PropertyType, value.ToString()); } try { Convert.ChangeType(value, info.PropertyType, new CultureInfo("de-DE")); info.SetValue(_selectedProduct, value, null); } catch (Exception ex) { throw new WrongFormatException("\"" + value.ToString() + "\" is not a valid value.", ex); } var produktFromList = _listProducts.Single(p => p.Position == _selectedProduct.Position); info.SetValue(produktFromList, value, null); _orderBs.ResetBindings(false); } } private void cboProducer_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { var selectedIndex = ((ComboBox)(sender)).SelectedIndex; switch ((Producer)selectedIndex) { case Producer.ABC: txtProducerNew.Text = Constants.ABC; break; case Producer.DEF: txtProducerNew.Text = Constants.DEF; break; case Producer.GHI: txtProducerNew.Text = Constants.GHI; break; case Producer.Another: txtProducerNew.Text = String.Empty; break; default: break; } string property = CommonMethods.GetPropertyName(() => new ProductBE().Producer); RefreshProduct(selectedIndex, property); } }

  • @OneToMany association joining on the wrong field

    - by april26
    I have 2 tables, devices which contains a list of devices and dev_tags, which contains a list of asset tags for these devices. The tables join on dev_serial_num, which is the primary key of neither table. The devices are unique on their ip_address field and they have a primary key identified by dev_id. The devices "age out" after 2 weeks. Therefore, the same piece of hardware can show up more than once in devices. I mention that to explain why there is a OneToMany relationship between dev_tags and devices where it seems that this should be a OneToOne relationship. So I have my 2 entities @Entity @Table(name = "dev_tags") public class DevTags implements Serializable { private Integer tagId; private String devTagId; private String devSerialNum; private List<Devices> devices; @Id @GeneratedValue @Column(name = "tag_id") public Integer getTagId() { return tagId; } public void setTagId(Integer tagId) { this.tagId = tagId; } @Column(name="dev_tag_id") public String getDevTagId() { return devTagId; } public void setDevTagId(String devTagId) { this.devTagId = devTagId; } @Column(name="dev_serial_num") public String getDevSerialNum() { return devSerialNum; } public void setDevSerialNum(String devSerialNum) { this.devSerialNum = devSerialNum; } @OneToMany(mappedBy="devSerialNum") public List<Devices> getDevices() { return devices; } public void setDevices(List<Devices> devices) { this.devices = devices; } } and this one public class Devices implements java.io.Serializable { private Integer devId; private Integer officeId; private String devSerialNum; private String devPlatform; private String devName; private OfficeView officeView; private DevTags devTag; public Devices() { } @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = IDENTITY) @Column(name = "dev_id", unique = true, nullable = false) public Integer getDevId() { return this.devId; } public void setDevId(Integer devId) { this.devId = devId; } @Column(name = "office_id", nullable = false, insertable=false, updatable=false) public Integer getOfficeId() { return this.officeId; } public void setOfficeId(Integer officeId) { this.officeId = officeId; } @Column(name = "dev_serial_num", nullable = false, length = 64, insertable=false, updatable=false) @NotNull @Length(max = 64) public String getDevSerialNum() { return this.devSerialNum; } public void setDevSerialNum(String devSerialNum) { this.devSerialNum = devSerialNum; } @Column(name = "dev_platform", nullable = false, length = 64) @NotNull @Length(max = 64) public String getDevPlatform() { return this.devPlatform; } public void setDevPlatform(String devPlatform) { this.devPlatform = devPlatform; } @Column(name = "dev_name") public String getDevName() { return devName; } public void setDevName(String devName) { this.devName = devName; } @ManyToOne(fetch = FetchType.LAZY) @JoinColumn(name = "office_id") public OfficeView getOfficeView() { return officeView; } public void setOfficeView(OfficeView officeView) { this.officeView = officeView; } @ManyToOne() @JoinColumn(name="dev_serial_num") public DevTags getDevTag() { return devTag; } public void setDevTag(DevTags devTag) { this.devTag = devTag; } } I messed around a lot with @JoinColumn(name=) and the mappedBy attribute of @OneToMany and I just cannot get this right. I finally got the darn thing to compile, but the query is still trying to join devices.dev_serial_num to dev_tags.tag_id, the @Id for this entity. Here is the transcript from the console: 13:12:16,970 INFO [STDOUT] Hibernate: select devices0_.office_id as office5_2_, devices0_.dev_id as dev1_2_, devices0_.dev_id as dev1_156_1_, devices0_.dev_name as dev2_156_1_, devices0_.dev_platform as dev3_156_1_, devices0_.dev_serial_num as dev4_156_1_, devices0_.office_id as office5_156_1_, devtags1_.tag_id as tag1_157_0_, devtags1_.comment as comment157_0_, devtags1_.dev_serial_num as dev3_157_0_, devtags1_.dev_tag_id as dev4_157_0_ from ond.devices devices0_ left outer join ond.dev_tags devtags1_ on devices0_.dev_serial_num=devtags1_.tag_id where devices0_.office_id=? 13:12:16,970 INFO [IntegerType] could not read column value from result set: dev4_156_1_; Invalid value for getInt() - 'FDO1129Y2U4' 13:12:16,970 WARN [JDBCExceptionReporter] SQL Error: 0, SQLState: S1009 13:12:16,970 ERROR [JDBCExceptionReporter] Invalid value for getInt() - 'FDO1129Y2U4' That value for getInt() 'FD01129Y2U4' is a serial number, definitely not an Int! What am I missing/misunderstanding here? Can I join 2 tables on any fields I want or does at least one have to be a primary key?

  • Put/Post json not working with ODataController if Model has Int64

    - by daryl
    I have this Data Object with an Int64 column: [TableAttribute(Name="dbo.vw_RelationLineOfBusiness")] [DataServiceKey("ProviderRelationLobId")] public partial class RelationLineOfBusiness { #region Column Mappings private System.Guid _Lineofbusiness; private System.String _ContractNumber; private System.Nullable<System.Int32> _ProviderType; private System.String _InsuredProviderType; private System.Guid _ProviderRelationLobId; private System.String _LineOfBusinessDesc; private System.String _CultureCode; private System.String _ContractDesc; private System.Nullable<System.Guid> _ProviderRelationKey; private System.String _ProviderRelationNbr; **private System.Int64 _AssignedNbr;** When I post/Put object through my OData controller using HttpClient and NewtsonSoft: partial class RelationLineOfBusinessController : ODataController { public HttpResponseMessage PutRelationLineOfBusiness([FromODataUri] System.Guid key, Invidasys.VidaPro.Model.RelationLineOfBusiness entity) the entity object is null and the error in my modelstate : "Cannot convert a primitive value to the expected type 'Edm.Int64'. See the inner exception for more details." I noticed when I do a get on my object using the below URL: Invidasys.Rest.Service/VidaPro/RelationLineOfBusiness(guid'c6824edc-23b4-4f76-a777-108d482c0fee') my json looks like the following - I noticed that the AssignedNbr is treated as a string. { "odata.metadata":"Invidasys.Rest.Service/VIDAPro/$metadata#RelationLineOfBusiness/@Element", "Lineofbusiness":"ba129c95-c5bb-4e40-993e-c28ca86fffe4","ContractNumber":null,"ProviderType":null, "InsuredProviderType":"PCP","ProviderRelationLobId":"c6824edc-23b4-4f76-a777-108d482c0fee", "LineOfBusinessDesc":"MEDICAID","CultureCode":"en-US","ContractDesc":null, "ProviderRelationKey":"a2d3b61f-3d76-46f4-9887-f2b0c8966914","ProviderRelationNbr":"4565454645", "AssignedNbr":"1000000045","Ispar":true,"ProviderTypeDesc":null,"InsuredProviderTypeDesc":"Primary Care Physician", "StartDate":"2012-01-01T00:00:00","EndDate":"2014-01-01T00:00:00","Created":"2014-06-13T10:59:33.567", "CreatedBy":"Michael","Updated":"2014-06-13T10:59:33.567","UpdatedBy":"Michael" } When I do a PUT with httpclient the JSON is showing up in my restful services as the following and the json for the AssignedNbr column is not in quotes which results in the restful services failing to build the JSON back to an object. I played with the JSON and put the AssignedNbr in quotes and the request goes through correctly. {"AssignedNbr":1000000045,"ContractDesc":null,"ContractNumber":null,"Created":"/Date(1402682373567-0700)/", "CreatedBy":"Michael","CultureCode":"en-US","EndDate":"/Date(1388559600000-0700)/","InsuredProviderType":"PCP", "InsuredProviderTypeDesc":"Primary Care Physician","Ispar":true,"LineOfBusinessDesc":"MEDICAID", "Lineofbusiness":"ba129c95-c5bb-4e40-993e-c28ca86fffe4","ProviderRelationKey":"a2d3b61f-3d76-46f4-9887-f2b0c8966914", "ProviderRelationLobId":"c6824edc-23b4-4f76-a777-108d482c0fee","ProviderRelationNbr":"4565454645","ProviderType":null, "ProviderTypeDesc":null,"StartDate":"/Date(1325401200000-0700)/","Updated":"/Date(1408374995760-0700)/","UpdatedBy":"ED"} The reason we wanted to expose our business model as restful services was to hide any data validation and expose all our databases in format that is easy to develop against. I looked at the DataServiceContext to see if it would work and it does but it uses XML to communicate between the restful services and the client. Which would work but DataServiceContext does not give the level of messaging that HttpRequestMessage/HttpResponseMessage gives me for informing users on the errors/missing information with their post. We are planning on supporting multiple devices from our restful services platform but that requires that I can use NewtonSoft Json as well as Microsoft's DataContractJsonSerializer if need be. My question is for a restful service standpoint - is there a way I can configure/code the restful services to take in the AssignedNbr as in JSON as without the quotes. Or from a JSON standpoint is their a way I can get the JSON built without getting into the serializing business nor do I want our clients to have deal with custom serializers if they want to write their own apps against our restful services. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Servlet response wrapper has encoding problem

    - by John O
    A servlet response wrapper is being used in a Servlet Filter. The idea is that the response is manipulated, with a 'nonce' value being injected into forms, as part of defence against CSRF attacks. The web app is using UTF-8 everywhere. When the Servlet Filter is absent, no problems. When the filter is added, encoding issues occur. (It seems as if the response is reverting to 8859-1.) The guts of the code : final class CsrfResponseWrapper extends AbstractResponseWrapper { ... byte[] modifyResponse(byte[] aInputResponse){ ... String originalInput = new String(aInputResponse, encoding); String modifiedResult = addHiddenParamToPostedForms(originalInput); result = modifiedResult.getBytes(encoding); ... } ... } As I understand it, the transition between byte-land and String-land should specify an encoding. That is done here, as you can see, in two places. The value of the 'encoding' variable is 'UTF-8'; the alteration of the String itself is standard string manipulation (with a regex), and never specifies an encoding (addHiddenParamToPostedForms). Where am I in error about the encoding? EDIT: Here is the base class (sorry it's rather long): package hirondelle.web4j.security; import javax.servlet.ServletOutputStream; import javax.servlet.ServletResponse; import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse; import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponseWrapper; import java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.PrintWriter; /** Abstract Base Class for altering response content. • Problems with createImage(int width, int height)

    - by Jonathan
    I have the following code, which is run every 10ms as part of a game: private void gameRender() { if(dbImage == null) { //createImage() returns null if GraphicsEnvironment.isHeadless() //returns true. (java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment) dbImage = createImage(PWIDTH, PHEIGHT); if(dbImage == null) { System.out.println("dbImage is null"); //Error recieved return; } else dbg = dbImage.getGraphics(); } //clear the background dbg.setColor(Color.white); dbg.fillRect(0, 0, PWIDTH, PHEIGHT); //draw game elements... if(gameOver) { gameOverMessage(dbg); } } The problem is that it enters the if statement which checks for the Image being null, even after I attempt to define the image. I looked around, and it seems that createImage() will return null if GraphicsEnvironment.isHeadless() returns true. I don't understand exactly what the isHeadless() method's purpose is, but I thought it might have something to do with the compiler or IDE, so I tried on two, both of which get the same error (Eclipse, and BlueJ). Anyone have any idea what the source of the error is, and how I might fix it? Thanks in advance Jonathan ................................................................... EDIT: I am using java.awt.Component.createImage(int width, int height). The purpose of this method is to ensure the creation of, and edit an Image that will contain the view of the player of the game, that will later be drawn to the screen by means of a JPanel. Here is some more code if this helps at all: public class Sim2D extends JPanel implements Runnable { private static final int PWIDTH = 500; private static final int PHEIGHT = 400; private volatile boolean running = true; private volatile boolean gameOver = false; private Thread animator; //gameRender() private Graphics dbg; private Image dbImage = null; public Sim2D() { setBackground(Color.white); setPreferredSize(new Dimension(PWIDTH, PHEIGHT)); setFocusable(true); requestFocus(); //Sim2D now recieves key events readyForTermination(); addMouseListener( new MouseAdapter() { public void mousePressed(MouseEvent e) { testPress(e.getX(), e.getY()); } }); } //end of constructor private void testPress(int x, int y) { if(!gameOver) { gameOver = true; //end game at mousepress } } //end of testPress() private void readyForTermination() { addKeyListener( new KeyAdapter() { public void keyPressed(KeyEvent e) { int keyCode = e.getKeyCode(); if((keyCode == KeyEvent.VK_ESCAPE) || (keyCode == KeyEvent.VK_Q) || (keyCode == KeyEvent.VK_END) || ((keyCode == KeyEvent.VK_C) && e.isControlDown()) ) { running = false; //end process on above list of keypresses } } }); } //end of readyForTermination() public void addNotify() { super.addNotify(); //creates the peer startGame(); //start the thread } //end of addNotify() public void startGame() { if(animator == null || !running) { animator = new Thread(this); animator.start(); } } //end of startGame() //run method for world public void run() { while(running) { long beforeTime, timeDiff, sleepTime; beforeTime = System.nanoTime(); gameUpdate(); //updates objects in game (step event in game) gameRender(); //renders image paintScreen(); //paints rendered image to screen timeDiff = (System.nanoTime() - beforeTime) / 1000000; sleepTime = 10 - timeDiff; if(sleepTime <= 0) //if took longer than 10ms { sleepTime = 5; //sleep a bit anyways } try{ Thread.sleep(sleepTime); //sleep by allotted time (attempts to keep this loop to about 10ms) } catch(InterruptedException ex){} beforeTime = System.nanoTime(); } System.exit(0); } //end of run() private void gameRender() { if(dbImage == null) { dbImage = createImage(PWIDTH, PHEIGHT); if(dbImage == null) { System.out.println("dbImage is null"); return; } else dbg = dbImage.getGraphics(); } //clear the background dbg.setColor(Color.white); dbg.fillRect(0, 0, PWIDTH, PHEIGHT); //draw game elements... if(gameOver) { gameOverMessage(dbg); } } //end of gameRender() } //end of class Sim2D Hope this helps clear things up a bit, Jonathan

  • Android Frame based animation memory problem

    - by madsleejensen
    Hi all Im trying to create a animation on top of a Camera Surface view. The animation if a box rotating, and to enable transparency i made a bunch of *.png files that i want to just switch out on top of the Camera view. The problem is Android wont allow me to allocate so many images (too much memory required) so the AnimationDrawable is not an option. Will i be able to allocate all the *.png bitmaps if i use OpenGL instead? then i would store all the *.png's as Textures and just make my own animation logic? is am i under the same restrictions there? Any ideas on how to solve this problem ? Ive made a Custom view that loads the image resource on every frame and discards it when next frame is to be displayed. But the performance is terrible. import android.app.Activity; import android.content.res.Resources; import android.graphics.drawable.Drawable; import android.os.SystemClock; import android.util.Log; import android.widget.ImageView; public class FrameAnimationView extends ImageView { private int mFramesPerSecond = 10; private int mTimeBetweenFrames = (1000 / mFramesPerSecond); private int mCurrentFrame = 1; private String[] mFrames; private Thread mAnimationThread; private Resources mResources; private String mIdentifierPrefix; private Activity mContext; private boolean mIsAnimating = false; private Integer[] mDrawableIndentifiers; public FrameAnimationView(Activity context, String[] frames) { super(context); mContext = context; mResources = context.getResources(); mFrames = frames; mIdentifierPrefix = context.getPackageName() + ":drawable/"; mDrawableIndentifiers = new Integer[frames.length]; } private void initAnimationThread() { mAnimationThread = new Thread(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { while (mIsAnimating) { final int frameToShow = (mCurrentFrame - 1); //Log.e("frame", Integer.toString(frameToShow)); mContext.runOnUiThread(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { if (mDrawableIndentifiers[frameToShow] == null) { String frameId = mFrames[frameToShow]; int drawableResourceId = mResources.getIdentifier(mIdentifierPrefix + frameId, null, null); mDrawableIndentifiers[frameToShow] = drawableResourceId; } Drawable frame = getResources().getDrawable(mDrawableIndentifiers[frameToShow]); setBackgroundDrawable(frame); if (mCurrentFrame < mFrames.length) { mCurrentFrame++; } else { mCurrentFrame = 1; } } }); try { Thread.sleep(mTimeBetweenFrames); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } }); } public void setFramesPerSecond(int fps) { mFramesPerSecond = fps; mTimeBetweenFrames = (1000 / mFramesPerSecond); } public void startAnimation() { if (mIsAnimating) return; mIsAnimating = true; initAnimationThread(); mAnimationThread.start(); } public void stopAnimation() { if (mIsAnimating) { Thread oldThread = mAnimationThread; mAnimationThread = null; oldThread.interrupt(); mIsAnimating = false; } } }

  • Issue 15: The Benefits of Oracle Exastack

    - by rituchhibber
         SOLUTIONS FOCUS The Benefits of Oracle Exastack Paul ThompsonDirector, Alliances and Solutions Partner ProgramsOracle EMEA Alliances & Channels RESOURCES -- Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Oracle Exastack Program Oracle Exastack Ready Oracle Exastack Optimized Oracle Exastack Labs and Enablement Resources Oracle Exastack Labs Video Tour SUBSCRIBE FEEDBACK PREVIOUS ISSUES Exastack is a revolutionary programme supporting Oracle independent software vendor partners across the entire Oracle technology stack. Oracle's core strategy is to engineer software and hardware together, and our ISV strategy is the same. At Oracle we design engineered systems that are pre-integrated to reduce the cost and complexity of IT infrastructures while increasing productivity and performance. Oracle innovates and optimises performance at every layer of the stack to simplify business operations, drive down costs and accelerate business innovation. Our engineered systems are optimised to achieve enterprise performance levels that are unmatched in the industry. Faster time to production is achieved by implementing pre-engineered and pre-assembled hardware and software bundles. Our strategy of delivering a single-vendor stack simplifies and reduces costs associated with purchasing, deploying, and supporting IT environments for our customers and partners. In parallel to this core engineered systems strategy, the Oracle Exastack Program enables our Oracle ISV partners to leverage a scalable, integrated infrastructure that delivers their applications tuned, tested and optimised for high-performance. Specifically, the Oracle Exastack Program helps ISVs run their solutions on the Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, and Oracle SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 - integrated systems products in which the software and hardware are engineered to work together. These products provide OPN members with a lower cost and high performance infrastructure for database and application workloads across on-premise and cloud based environments. Ready and Optimized Oracle Partners can now leverage our new Oracle Exastack Program to become Oracle Exastack Ready and Oracle Exastack Optimized. Partners can achieve Oracle Exastack Ready status through their support for Oracle Solaris, Oracle Linux, Oracle VM, Oracle Database, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, and Oracle SPARC SuperCluster T4-4. By doing this, partners can demonstrate to their customers that their applications are available on the latest major releases of these products. The Oracle Exastack Ready programme helps customers readily differentiate Oracle partners from lesser software developers, and identify applications that support Oracle engineered systems. Achieving Oracle Exastack Optimized status demonstrates that an OPN member has proven itself against goals for performance and scalability on Oracle integrated systems. This status enables end customers to readily identify Oracle partners that have tested and tuned their solutions for optimum performance on an Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, and Oracle SPARC SuperCluster T4-4. These ISVs can display the Oracle Exadata Optimized, Oracle Exalogic Optimized or Oracle SPARC SuperCluster Optimized logos on websites and on all their collateral to show that they have tested and tuned their application for optimum performance. Deliver higher value to customers Oracle's investment in engineered systems enables ISV partners to deliver higher value to customer business processes. New innovations are enabled through extreme performance unachievable through traditional best-of-breed multi-vendor server/software approaches. Core product requirements can be launched faster, enabling ISVs to focus research and development investment on core competencies in order to bring value to market as quickly as possible. Through Exastack, partners no longer have to worry about the underlying product stack, which allows greater focus on the development of intellectual property above the stack. Partners are not burdened by platform issues and can concentrate simply on furthering their applications. The advantage to end customers is that partners can focus all efforts on business functionality, rather than bullet-proofing underlying technologies, and so will inevitably deliver application updates faster. Exastack provides ISVs with a number of flexible deployment options, such as on-premise or Cloud, while maintaining one single code base for applications regardless of customer deployment preference. Customers buying their solutions from Exastack ISVs can therefore be confident in deploying on their own networks, on private clouds or into a public cloud. The underlying platform will support all conceivable deployments, enabling a focus on the ISV's application itself that wouldn't be possible with other vendor partners. It stands to reason that Exastack accelerates time to value as well as lowering implementation costs all round. There is a big competitive advantage in partners being able to offer customers an optimised, pre-configured solution rather than an assortment of components and a suggested fit. Once a customer has decided to buy an Oracle Exastack Ready or Optimized partner solution, it will be up and running without any need for the customer to conduct testing of its own. Operational costs and complexity are also reduced, thanks to streamlined customer support through standardised configurations and pro-active monitoring. 'Engineered to Work Together' is a significant statement of Oracle strategy. It guarantees smoother deployment of a single vendor solution, clear ownership with no finger-pointing and the peace of mind of the Oracle Support Centre underpinning the entire product stack. Next steps Every OPN member with packaged applications must seriously consider taking steps to become Exastack Ready, or Exastack Optimized at the first opportunity. That first step down the track is to talk to an expert on the OPN Portal, at the Oracle Partner Business Center or to discuss the next steps with the closest Oracle account manager. Oracle Exastack lab environments and other technical enablement resources are available for OPN members wishing to further their knowledge of Oracle Exastack and qualify their applications for Oracle Exastack Optimized. New Boot Camps and Guided Learning Paths (GLPs), tailored specifically for ISVs, are available for Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, Oracle Linux, Oracle Solaris, Oracle Database, and Oracle WebLogic Server. More information about these GLPs and Boot Camps (including delivery dates and locations) are posted on the OPN Competency Center and corresponding OPN Knowledge Zones. • Upload Certificate and Key to RUEI in order to decrypt SSL traffic

    - by stefan.thieme(at)oracle.com
    So you want to monitor encrypted traffic with your RUEI collector ?Actually this is an easy thing if you follow the lines below...I will start out with creating a pair of snakeoil (so called self-signed) certificate and key with the make-ssl-cert tool which comes pre-packaged with apache only for the purpose of this example.$ sudo make-ssl-cert generate-default-snakeoil$ sudo ls -l /etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem /etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key-rw-r--r-- 1 root root     615 2010-06-07 10:03 /etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem-rw-r----- 1 root ssl-cert 891 2010-06-07 10:03 /etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.keyRUEI Configuration of Security SSL Keys You will most likely get these two files from your Certificate Authority (CA) and/or your system administrators should be able to extract this from your WebServer or LoadBalancer handling SSL encryption for your infrastructure.Now let's look at the content of these two files, the certificate (apache assumes this is in PEM format) is called a public key and the private key is used by the apache server to encrypt traffic for a client using the certificate to initiate the SSL connection with the server.In case you already know that these two match, you simply have to paste them in one text file and upload this text file to your RUEI instance.$ sudo cat /etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem /etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key > /tmp/ruei.cert_and_key$ sudo cat /tmp/ruei.cert_and_key -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- MIIBmTCCAQICCQD7O3XXwVilWzANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQUFADARMQ8wDQYDVQQDEwZ1 YnVudHUwHhcNMTAwNjA3MDgwMzUzWhcNMjAwNjA0MDgwMzUzWjARMQ8wDQYDVQQD EwZ1YnVudHUwgZ8wDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEBBQADgY0AMIGJAoGBALbs+JnI+p+K7Iqa SQZdnYBxOpdRH0/9jt1QKvmH68v81h9+f1Z2rVR7Zrd/l+ruE3H9VvuzxMlKuMH7 qBX/gmjDZTlj9WJM+zc0tSk+e2udy9he20lGzTxv0vaykJkuKcvSWNk4WE9NuAdg IHZvjKgoTSVmvM1ApMCg69nyOy97AgMBAAEwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEFBQADgYEAk2rv VEkxR1qPSpJiudDuGUHtWKBKWiWbmSwI3REZT+0vG+YDG5a55NdxgRk3zhQntqF7 gNYjKxblBByBpY7W0ci00kf7kFgvXWMeU96NSQJdnid/YxzQYn0dGL2rSh1dwdPN NPQlNSfnEQ1yxFevR7aRdCqTbTXU3mxi8YaSscE= -----END CERTIFICATE----- -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- MIICXgIBAAKBgQC27PiZyPqfiuyKmkkGXZ2AcTqXUR9P/Y7dUCr5h+vL/NYffn9W dq1Ue2a3f5fq7hNx/Vb7s8TJSrjB+6gV/4Jow2U5Y/ViTPs3NLUpPntrncvYXttJ Rs08b9L2spCZLinL0ljZOFhPTbgHYCB2b4yoKE0lZrzNQKTAoOvZ8jsvewIDAQAB AoGBAJ7LCWeeUwnKNFqBYmD3RTFpmX4furnal3lBDX0945BZtJr0WZ/6N679zIYA aiVTdGfgjvDC9lHy3n3uctRd0Jqdh2QoSSxNBhq5elIApNIIYzu7w/XI/VhGcDlA b6uadURQEC2q+M8YYjw3mwR2omhCWlHIViOHe/9T8jfP/8pxAkEA7k39WRcQildH DFKcj7gurqlkElHysacMTFWf0ZDTEUS6bdkmNXwK6mH63BlmGLrYAP5AMgKgeDf8 D+WRfv8YKQJBAMSCQ7UGDN3ysyfIIrdc1RBEAk4BOrKHKtD5Ux0z5lcQkaCYrK8J DuSldreN2yOhS99/S4CRWmGkTj04wRSnjwMCQQCaR5mW3QzTU4/m1XEQxsBKSdZE 2hMSmsCmhuSyK13Kl0FPLr/C7qyuc4KSjksABa8kbXaoKfUz/6LLs+ePXZ2JAkAv +mIPk5+WnQgS4XFgdYDrzL8HTpOHPSs+BHG/goltnnT/0ebvgXWqa5+1pyPm6h29 PrYveM2pY1Va6z1xDowDAkEAttfzAwAHz+FUhWQCmOBpvBuW/KhYWKZTMpvxFMSY YD5PH6NNyLfBx0J4nGPN5n/f6il0s9pzt3ko++/eUtWSnQ== -----END RSA PRIVATE KEY----- Simply click on the add new key and browse for the cert_and_key file on your desktop which you concatenated earlier using any text editor. You may need to add a passphrase in order to decrypt the RSA key in some cases (it should tell you BEGIN ENCRYPTED PRIVATE KEY in the header line). I will show you the success screen after uploading the certificate to RUEI. You may want to restart your collector once you have uploaded all the certificate/key pairs you want to use in order to make sure they get picked up asap.You should be able to see the number of SSL Connections rising in the Collector statistics screen below. The figures for decrypt errors should slowly go down and the usage figures for your encryption algortihm on the subsequent SSL Encryption screen should go up. You should be 100% sure everything works fine by now, otherwise see below to distinguish the remaining 1% from your 99% certainty.Verify Certificate and Key are matchingYou can compare the modulus of private key and public certificate and they should match in order for the key to fit the lock. You will be able to lookup all the details including the validity dates, subject common name and the public key modulus.Capture an SSL connection using WiresharkAnd as you would have expected, looking at the low-level tcp data that has been exchanged between the client and server with a tcp-diagnostics tool (i.e. wireshark/tcpdump) you can also see the modulus in there.These were the settings I used to capture all traffic on the local loopback interface, matching the filter expression: tcp and ip and host 127.0.0.1 and port 443. This tells Wireshark to leave out any other information, I may not have been interested in showing you.

    - by cj
    This posts highlights some great scripting language sessions coming up at the Oracle OpenWorld and MySQL Connect conferences. These events are happening in San Francisco from the end of September. You can search for other interesting conference sessions in the Content Catalog. Also check out what is happening at JavaOne in that event's Content Catalog (I haven't included sessions from it in this post.) To find the timeslots and locations of each session, click their respective link and check the "Session Schedule" box on the top right. GEN8431 - General Session: What’s New in Oracle Database Application Development This general session takes a look at what’s been new in the last year in Oracle Database application development tools using the latest generation of database technology. Topics range from Oracle SQL Developer and Oracle Application Express to Java and PHP. (Thomas Kyte - Architect, Oracle) BOF9858 - Meet the Developers of Database Access Services (OCI, ODBC, DRCP, PHP, Python) This session is your opportunity to meet in person the Oracle developers who have built Oracle Database access tools and products such as the Oracle Call Interface (OCI), Oracle C++ Call Interface (OCCI), and Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) drivers; Transparent Application Failover (TAF); Oracle Database Instant Client; Database Resident Connection Pool (DRCP); Oracle Net Services, and so on. The team also works with those who develop the PHP, Ruby, Python, and Perl adapters for Oracle Database. Come discuss with them the features you like, your pains, and new product enhancements in the latest database technology. CON8506 - Syndication and Consolidation: Oracle Database Driver for MySQL Applications This technical session presents a new Oracle Database driver that enables you to run MySQL applications (written in PHP, Perl, C, C++, and so on) against Oracle Database with almost no code change. Use cases for such a driver include application syndication such as interoperability across a relationship database management system, application migration, and database consolidation. In addition, the session covers enhancements in database technology that enable and simplify the migration of third-party databases and applications to and consolidation with Oracle Database. Attend this session to learn more and see a live demo. (Srinath Krishnaswamy - Director, Software Development, Oracle. Kuassi Mensah - Director Product Management, Oracle. Mohammad Lari - Principal Technical Staff, Oracle ) CON9167 - Current State of PHP and MySQL Together, PHP and MySQL power large parts of the Web. The developers of both technologies continue to enhance their software to ensure that developers can be satisfied despite all their changing and growing needs. This session presents an overview of changes in PHP 5.4, which was released earlier this year and shows you various new MySQL-related features available for PHP, from transparent client-side caching to direct support for scaling and high-availability needs. (Johannes Schlüter - SoftwareDeveloper, Oracle) CON8983 - Sharding with PHP and MySQL In deploying MySQL, scale-out techniques can be used to scale out reads, but for scaling out writes, other techniques have to be used. To distribute writes over a cluster, it is necessary to shard the database and store the shards on separate servers. This session provides a brief introduction to traditional MySQL scale-out techniques in preparation for a discussion on the different sharding techniques that can be used with MySQL server and how they can be implemented with PHP. You will learn about static and dynamic sharding schemes, their advantages and drawbacks, techniques for locating and moving shards, and techniques for resharding. (Mats Kindahl - Senior Principal Software Developer, Oracle) CON9268 - Developing Python Applications with MySQL Utilities and MySQL Connector/Python This session discusses MySQL Connector/Python and the MySQL Utilities component of MySQL Workbench and explains how to write MySQL applications in Python. It includes in-depth explanations of the features of MySQL Connector/Python and the MySQL Utilities library, along with example code to illustrate the concepts. Those interested in learning how to expand or build their own utilities and connector features will benefit from the tips and tricks from the experts. This session also provides an opportunity to meet directly with the engineers and provide feedback on your issues and priorities. You can learn what exists today and influence future developments. (Geert Vanderkelen - Software Developer, Oracle) BOF9141 - MySQL Utilities and MySQL Connector/Python: Python Developers, Unite! Come to this lively discussion of the MySQL Utilities component of MySQL Workbench and MySQL Connector/Python. It includes in-depth explanations of the features and dives into the code for those interested in learning how to expand or build their own utilities and connector features. This is an audience-driven session, so put on your best Python shirt and let’s talk about MySQL Utilities and MySQL Connector/Python. (Geert Vanderkelen - Software Developer, Oracle. Charles Bell - Senior Software Developer, Oracle) CON3290 - Integrating Oracle Database with a Social Network Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, Google Maps. There are many social network sites, each with their own APIs for sharing data with them. Most developers do not realize that Oracle Database has base tools for communicating with these sites, enabling all manner of information, including multimedia, to be passed back and forth between the sites. This technical presentation goes through the methods in PL/SQL for connecting to, and then sending and retrieving, all types of data between these sites. (Marcelle Kratochvil - CTO, Piction) CON3291 - Storing and Tuning Unstructured Data and Multimedia in Oracle Database Database administrators need to learn new skills and techniques when the decision is made in their organization to let Oracle Database manage its unstructured data. They will face new scalability challenges. A single row in a table can become larger than a whole database. This presentation covers the techniques a DBA needs for managing the large volume of data in a standard Oracle Database instance. (Marcelle Kratochvil - CTO, Piction) CON3292 - Using PHP, Perl, Visual Basic, Ruby, and Python for Multimedia in Oracle Database These five programming languages are just some of the most popular ones in use at the moment in the marketplace. This presentation details how you can use them to access and retrieve multimedia from Oracle Database. It covers programming techniques and methods for achieving faster development against Oracle Database. (Marcelle Kratochvil - CTO, Piction) UGF5181 - Building Real-World Oracle DBA Tools in Perl Perl is not normally associated with building mission-critical application or DBA tools. Learn why Perl could be a good choice for building your next killer DBA app. This session draws on real-world experience of building DBA tools in Perl, showing the framework and architecture needed to deal with portability, efficiency, and maintainability. Topics include Perl frameworks; Which Comprehensive Perl Archive Network (CPAN) modules are good to use; Perl and CPAN module licensing; Perl and Oracle connectivity; Compiling and deploying your app; An example of what is possible with Perl. (Arjen Visser - CEO & CTO, Dbvisit Software Limited) CON3153 - Perl: A DBA’s and Developer’s Best (Forgotten) Friend This session reintroduces Perl as a language of choice for many solutions for DBAs and developers. Discover what makes Perl so successful and why it is so versatile in our day-to-day lives. Perl can automate all those manual tasks and is truly platform-independent. Perl may not be in the limelight the way other languages are, but it is a remarkable language, it is still very current with ongoing development, and it has amazing online resources. Learn what makes Perl so great (including CPAN), get an introduction to Perl language syntax, find out what you can use Perl for, hear how Oracle uses Perl, discover the best way to learn Perl, and take away a small Perl project challenge. (Arjen Visser - CEO & CTO, Dbvisit Software Limited) CON10332 - Oracle RightNow CX Cloud Service’s Connect PHP API: Intro, What’s New, and Roadmap Connect PHP is a public API that enables developers to build solutions with the Oracle RightNow CX Cloud Service platform. This API is used primarily by developers working within the Oracle RightNow Customer Portal Cloud Service framework who are looking to gain access to data and services hosted by the Oracle RightNow CX Cloud Service platform through a backward-compatible API. • C# XNA Handle mouse events?

    - by user406470
    I'm making a 2D game engine called Clixel over on GitHub. The problem I have relates to two classes, ClxMouse and ClxButton. In it I have a mouse class - the code for that can be viewed here. ClxMouse using Microsoft.Xna.Framework; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Input; namespace org.clixel { public class ClxMouse : ClxSprite { private MouseState _curmouse, _lastmouse; public int Sensitivity = 3; public bool Lock = true; public Vector2 Change { get { return new Vector2(_curmouse.X - _lastmouse.X, _curmouse.Y - _lastmouse.Y); } } private int _scrollwheel; public int ScrollWheel { get { return _scrollwheel; } } public bool LeftDown { get { if (_curmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool RightDown { get { if (_curmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool MiddleDown { get { if (_curmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool LeftPressed { get { if (_curmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Pressed && _lastmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Released) return true; else return false; } } public bool RightPressed { get { if (_curmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Pressed && _lastmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Released) return true; else return false; } } public bool MiddlePressed { get { if (_curmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Pressed && _lastmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Released) return true; else return false; } } public bool LeftReleased { get { if (_curmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Released && _lastmouse.LeftButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool RightReleased { get { if (_curmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Released && _lastmouse.RightButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public bool MiddleReleased { get { if (_curmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Released && _lastmouse.MiddleButton == ButtonState.Pressed) return true; else return false; } } public MouseState CurMouse { get { return _curmouse; I was looking at normal events on some other sites, (I'd post them but I need more rep.) and didn't really see a good way to implement delegate events into my framework. I'm not really sure how these events work, could someone possibly lay out how these events are processed for me? TL:DR * Is there a better way to handle events like this? * Are events a viable solution to this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Java Animation Memory Overload [on hold]

    - by user2425429
    I need a way to reduce the memory usage of these programs while keeping the functionality. Every time I add 50 milliseconds or so to the set&display loop in AnimationTest1, it throws an out of memory error. Here is the code I have now: import java.awt.DisplayMode; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.Image; import java.awt.Polygon; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import java.util.concurrent.Executor; import java.util.concurrent.Executors; import javax.swing.ImageIcon; public class AnimationTest1 { public static void main(String args[]) { AnimationTest1 test = new AnimationTest1(); test.run(); } private static final DisplayMode POSSIBLE_MODES[] = { new DisplayMode(800, 600, 32, 0), new DisplayMode(800, 600, 24, 0), new DisplayMode(800, 600, 16, 0), new DisplayMode(640, 480, 32, 0), new DisplayMode(640, 480, 24, 0), new DisplayMode(640, 480, 16, 0) }; private static final long DEMO_TIME = 4000; private ScreenManager screen; private Image bgImage; private Animation anim; public void loadImages() { // create animation List<Polygon> polygons=new ArrayList(); int[] x=new int[]{20,4,4,20,40,56,56,40}; int[] y=new int[]{20,32,40,44,44,40,32,20}; polygons.add(new Polygon(x,y,8)); anim = new Animation(); //# of frames long startTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); long currTimer = startTime; long elapsedTime = 0; boolean animated = false; Graphics2D g = screen.getGraphics(); int width=200; int height=200; //set&display loop while (currTimer - startTime < DEMO_TIME*2) { //draw the polygons if(!animated){ for(int j=0; j<polygons.size();j++){ for(int pos=0; pos<polygons.get(j).npoints; pos++){ polygons.get(j).xpoints[pos]+=1; } } anim.setNewPolyFrame(polygons , width , height , 64); } else{ // update animation anim.update(elapsedTime); draw(g); g.dispose(); screen.update(); try{ Thread.sleep(20); } catch(InterruptedException ie){} } if(currTimer - startTime == DEMO_TIME) animated=true; elapsedTime = System.currentTimeMillis() - currTimer; currTimer += elapsedTime; } } public void run() { screen = new ScreenManager(); try { DisplayMode displayMode = screen.findFirstCompatibleMode(POSSIBLE_MODES); screen.setFullScreen(displayMode); loadImages(); } finally { screen.restoreScreen(); } } public void draw(Graphics g) { // draw background g.drawImage(bgImage, 0, 0, null); // draw image g.drawImage(anim.getImage(), 0, 0, null); } } ScreenManager: import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.DisplayMode; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.GraphicsConfiguration; import java.awt.GraphicsDevice; import java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment; import java.awt.Toolkit; import java.awt.Window; import java.awt.event.KeyListener; import java.awt.event.MouseListener; import java.awt.image.BufferStrategy; import java.awt.image.BufferedImage; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; public class ScreenManager extends JPanel { private GraphicsDevice device; /** Creates a new ScreenManager object. */ public ScreenManager() { GraphicsEnvironment environment=GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment(); device = environment.getDefaultScreenDevice(); setBackground(Color.white); } /** Returns a list of compatible display modes for the default device on the system. */ public DisplayMode[] getCompatibleDisplayModes() { return device.getDisplayModes(); } /** Returns the first compatible mode in a list of modes.   • Animation Color [on hold]

    - by user2425429
    I'm having problems in my java program for animation. I'm trying to draw a hexagon with a shape similar to that of a trapezoid. Then, I'm making it move to the right for a certain amount of time (DEMO_TIME). Animation and ScreenManager are "API" classes, and AnimationTest1 is a demo. In my test program, it runs with a black screen and white stroke color. I'd like to know why this happened and how to fix it. I'm a beginner, so I apologize for this question being stupid to all you game programmers. Here is the code I have now: import java.awt.DisplayMode; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.Image; import java.awt.Polygon; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import java.util.concurrent.Executor; import java.util.concurrent.Executors; import javax.swing.ImageIcon; public class AnimationTest1 { public static void main(String args[]) { AnimationTest1 test = new AnimationTest1(); test.run(); } private static final DisplayMode POSSIBLE_MODES[] = { new DisplayMode(800, 600, 32, 0), new DisplayMode(800, 600, 24, 0), new DisplayMode(800, 600, 16, 0), new DisplayMode(640, 480, 32, 0), new DisplayMode(640, 480, 24, 0), new DisplayMode(640, 480, 16, 0) }; private static final long DEMO_TIME = 4000; private ScreenManager screen; private Image bgImage; private Animation anim; public void loadImages() { // create animation List<Polygon> polygons=new ArrayList(); int[] x=new int[]{20,4,4,20,40,56,56,40}; int[] y=new int[]{20,32,40,44,44,40,32,20}; polygons.add(new Polygon(x,y,8)); anim = new Animation(); //# of frames long startTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); long currTimer = startTime; long elapsedTime = 0; boolean animated = false; Graphics2D g = screen.getGraphics(); int width=200; int height=200; while (currTimer - startTime < DEMO_TIME*2) { //draw the polygons if(!animated){ for(int j=0; j<polygons.size();j++){ for(int pos=0; pos<polygons.get(j).npoints; pos++){ polygons.get(j).xpoints[pos]+=1; } } anim.setNewPolyFrame(polygons , width , height , 64); } else{ // update animation anim.update(elapsedTime); draw(g); g.dispose(); screen.update(); try{ Thread.sleep(20); } catch(InterruptedException ie){} } if(currTimer - startTime == DEMO_TIME) animated=true; elapsedTime = System.currentTimeMillis() - currTimer; currTimer += elapsedTime; } } public void run() { screen = new ScreenManager(); try { DisplayMode displayMode = screen.findFirstCompatibleMode(POSSIBLE_MODES); screen.setFullScreen(displayMode); loadImages(); } finally { screen.restoreScreen(); } } public void draw(Graphics g) { // draw background g.drawImage(bgImage, 0, 0, null); // draw image g.drawImage(anim.getImage(), 0, 0, null); } } ScreenManager: import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.DisplayMode; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.GraphicsConfiguration; import java.awt.GraphicsDevice; import java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment; import java.awt.Toolkit; import java.awt.Window; import java.awt.event.KeyListener; import java.awt.event.MouseListener; import java.awt.image.BufferStrategy; import java.awt.image.BufferedImage; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; public class ScreenManager extends JPanel { private GraphicsDevice device; /** Creates a new ScreenManager object. */ public ScreenManager() { GraphicsEnvironment environment=GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment(); device = environment.getDefaultScreenDevice(); setBackground(Color.white); } /** Returns a list of compatible display modes for the default device on the system. */ public DisplayMode[] getCompatibleDisplayModes() { return device.getDisplayModes(); } /** Returns the first compatible mode in a list of modes.   • C# .Net 3.5 Asynchronous Socket Server Performance Problem

    - by iBrAaAa
    I'm developing an Asynchronous Game Server using .Net Socket Asynchronous Model( BeginAccept/EndAccept...etc.) The problem I'm facing is described like that: When I have only one client connected, the server response time is very fast but once a second client connects, the server response time increases too much. I've measured the time from a client sends a message to the server until it gets the reply in both cases. I found that the average time in case of one client is about 17ms and in case of 2 clients about 280ms!!! What I really see is that: When 2 clients are connected and only one of them is moving(i.e. requesting service from the server) it is equivalently equal to the case when only one client is connected(i.e. fast response). However, when the 2 clients move at the same time(i.e. requests service from the server at the same time) their motion becomes very slow (as if the server replies each one of them in order i.e. not simultaneously). Basically, what I am doing is that: When a client requests a permission for motion from the server and the server grants him the request, the server then broadcasts the new position of the client to all the players. So if two clients are moving in the same time, the server is eventually trying to broadcast to both clients the new position of each of them at the same time. EX: Client1 asks to go to position (2,2) Client2 asks to go to position (5,5) Server sends to each of Client1 & Client2 the same two messages: message1: "Client1 at (2,2)" message2: "Client2 at (5,5)" I believe that the problem comes from the fact that Socket class is thread safe according MSDN documentation http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.net.sockets.socket.aspx. (NOT SURE THAT IT IS THE PROBLEM) Below is the code for the server: /// /// This class is responsible for handling packet receiving and sending /// public class NetworkManager { /// /// An integer to hold the server port number to be used for the connections. Its default value is 5000. /// private readonly int port = 5000; /// /// hashtable contain all the clients connected to the server. /// key: player Id /// value: socket /// private readonly Hashtable connectedClients = new Hashtable(); /// /// An event to hold the thread to wait for a new client /// private readonly ManualResetEvent resetEvent = new ManualResetEvent(false); /// /// keeps track of the number of the connected clients /// private int clientCount;
