On application side is used Windows XP and up.

    I have an asp.net app that uses System.IO.Path.GetTempFileName() for temporary files. In the production IIS environment (W2K3), the temp folder (System.IO.Path.GetTempPath()) points to C:\Windows\Temp. But on my XP dev machine it's C:\documents and settings\machinename\ASPNET\temp. Is it possible to change this folder without affecting other accounts on my machine?

    Hello, I have developed my .net web app on XP using IIS6. It uses just plain old master pages, nothing fancy. No nested master page. When I deployed it to the server, which is IIS7, suddenly any page that implements a master page, will not be rendered. Gives a 404 error instead. Any ideas, about confguration that I need to specify in IIS7 that is not in IIS6? Thanks

  • cygwin: svn does not work anymore

    All of the sudden svn stopped working in cygwin installation on windows xp. when I execute svn binary, nothing happens, svn process does not even show up in the Task Manager. I've reinstalled svn but it did not help (the last resort would be to uninstall cygwin itself).     Style, set to Qt application, vanishes, when QDockWindow or QToolBar is being unattached. Application is designed to work in Windows XP environment, most of users use it's 'classic' scheme, and application's style is Cleanlooks. It looks fine, until one want to undock dockable window or move toolbar. CLeanlooks vanishes, and it is rather ugly. Is there any workaround to handle this?

    I have built an application which uses user executable through WScript com object. Now the main program is located in C:\Program files\Myapp Curl executable is located in C:\Curl But it looks like my application is unable to execute curl if main application is in Program files. If i move it to another location it can execute curl nicely. Problem occurs only on Windows Xp on Vista and Win7 it works perfectly. Is there any special permissions i have to give to my app or what?

    My XP machine has become terribly slow and I want to identify the application at fault. It seems to be related to disk access rather than processor hogging. I can look at the task manager to get a good idea but it's not ideal. I was wondering if there was some application that can monitor all aspects of processes effectively. Is Process Explorer my only hope?
