  • Python: Split, strip, and join in one line

    I'm curious if their is some python magic I may not know to accomplish a bit of frivolity given the line: csvData.append(','.join([line.split(":").strip() for x in L])) I'm attempting to split a line on :, trim whitespace around it, and join on , problem is, since the array is returned from line.split(":"), the for x in L #<== L doesn't exist! causes issues since I have no name for the array returned by line.split(":") So I'm curious if there is a sexy piece of syntax I could use to accomplish this in one shot?   • emacs: how do I use edebug on code that is defined in a macro?

    I don't even know the proper terminology for this lisp syntax, so I don't know if the words I'm using to ask the question, make sense. But the question makes sense, I'm sure. So let me just show you. cc-mode (cc-fonts.el) has things called "matchers" which are bits of code that run to decide how to fontify a region of code. That sounds simple enough, but the matcher code is in a form I don't completely understand, with babckticks and comma-atsign and just comma and so on, and furthermore it is embedded in a c-lang-defcost, which itself is a macro. And I want to run edebug on that code. Look: (c-lang-defconst c-basic-matchers-after "Font lock matchers for various things that should be fontified after generic casts and declarations are fontified. The syntax is much cleaner for passing context around. However, I haven't seen any information on the performance implications of using blocks in this manner. What, if any, performance pitfalls should I look out for when using blocks, particularly as a replacement for a C-style callback?

I am doing alter table obj_details IMG_SRC IMG_SRC varchar(180); I want to change the number of characters that can be used in the column IMG_SRC to 180 (it is currently 100). But I get an error saying that I should check the syntax near IMG_SRC IMG_SRC varchar(180).

    Hi, Is it possible to do the following with an enum in C#?: Pass in to a method a selected value of the enum (eg if an enum has members such as Red, Green, Orange, I can pass in Colors.Red). In the method body of the above method which accepts an enum, I can say if (Enum == Colors.Red). What would be the syntax for this? I've always seemed to have stalled on this.

    Hi, I have queries that are built like this: public static List<MyObjectModel> GetData (int MyParam) { using (DataModel MyModelDC = new DataModel()) { var MyQuery = from.... select MyObjectModel { ...} } return new List<MyObjectModel> (MyQuery) } } It seems that using compiled linq-to-sql queries are about as fast as stored procedures and so the goal is to convert these queries into compiled queries. When account references another object with properties the following used to work. =Fields!Account.Value.Name (Name is a property of the child object, Account is the parent object) The same expression syntax no longer works.     Hi, Need to edit some of the local text files on my iphone but so far all the apps I have downloaded do not navigate the OS3 file tree for me to load and edit them. I need to do this on my iphone as I can no longer access via ssh or with the iphone cable. One of the files to edit is a ssh config file which is what is not allowing ssh connections. To get information from the Dialog1 from within a module I need to use Dim oDialog1 as Dialog1 = Dialog1. VB.Net 2005 does not compile using Dim oDialog1 as Dialog1 = Dialog1 and insists on NEW What is going on and why do I need the different initialisation syntax?
