• Get rid of all user data of Android application after bigger update

  Hi, I completely revamped an app. Tested it for a while on my device and emulator. The app worked fine. However when I updated the app through the Android market, my users experienced crashes. Since there is no way to properly debug this procedure I asume the crash is caused by old data which is not being removed from the device (probably from the onsavedstate bundle?!). Is there a way to do a "clean/total" reinstall without having the user to do it manually? Best Regards Johe

  I'm new to mysql, I'm trying to run Wordpress inmy windows desktop and it need Mysql. I install everything with Web Platform Installer which provided by microsoft. I never seta root password for mysql and in final step of installing wordpressit askfor root password of mysql. What is the default password for root (if there is one) and how to change it?   Are there any good resources for learning C++ that a C# user could use, which don't require knowledge of C? I have quite a good knowledge of C# via courses in my University's game development program (in a 300 level course right now) but now I need to use C++ for a project. I would use a beginner tutorial but they are so hard for me to follow and learn the basic syntax because they start so slowly. I found a few of tutorials for switching from C++ to C#, but none in the other direction. I do have a little bit of Objective C practice from iPhone programming as well.

  Hello all, I have a site that has a simple API which can be used via http. I wish to make use of the API and submit data about 1000-1500 times at one time. Here is their API: http://api.jum.name/ I have constructed the URL to make a submission but now I am wondering what is the best way to make these 1000-1500 API GET requests?   Hi We have created a Master page that inherits off the asp.net Master class. We have also got ui controls that inherit off the standard asp.net ui control class. Our Master page has a public member variable. We need to be able to access that member variable from the ui controls that we use. However we can't seem to get at it? Is it our architecture that is wrong? Or the idea itself - user control getting acces to Master page variables?

  I don't know how to search about this so I'm kinda lost (the two topics I saw here were closed). I have a news website and I want to warn the user when a new data is inserted on the database. I want to do that like here on StackOverflow where we are warned without reloading the page or like in facebook where you are warned about new messages/notifications without reloading. Which is the best way to do that? Is it some kind of listener with a timeout that is constantly checking the database? It doesn't sounds efficient... Thanks in advance.

• Slick PHP based image manager for managing user profile images

  Hi, I'm just throwing this out there as I'm plodding my way through creating a Member Photo album on a site i'm working on, where they can login and upload their photos to a personal gallery. I want this to be nice and lightweight, but still slick and "modern" with a modal based interface for the user. I'm surprised though that there is seemingly nothing open source out there which fits the bill - I've done a few searches on Google to no avail and can't seem to find anything. Lots of bloated photo galleries out there but nothing looks like it has been developed using more recent technologies. Is anyone aware of anything which might suit what I'm looking for? I'm fully prepared to try and code it myself but I'd be delighted if I didn't have to! Pure laziness you might say, but there's no point reinventing the wheel.

• sharepoint wss 3.0 user domain

  I've inherited a sharepoint wss 3.0 farm that is pulling users from 2 different domains, say domainA and domainB. So if I go into Add User and Browse, and type Smith, it is coming up with domainA\jsmith and domainB\jsmith. The company has moved away from domainA and uses only domainB now. So I want to remove domainA from the sharepoint configuration. I don't need to migrate existing sharepoint users, I just want for the domainA users to stop showing up when new users are added. I've been through every page I can find in Central Administration and I don't see where the names of the domain controller(s) are specified. It is using windows auth / NTLM.

• Hudson build fails when a user logs out of RDP session

  We are using Hudson to build mixed C++/Java projects with an Ant script. It is running in Tomcat 6, on a Win XP virtual machine. I have noticed recently that when a user logs off the machine (from a remote desktop session), builds that are currently running tend to suddenly fail without an error message. Has anyone encountered anything similar or have an idea what might be causing this effect? I can post additional information about our setup if needed, I'm just not sure what's relevant in this case.

  My application makes use of the sfGuardUser plugin. One of my tables has a relation onto the sf_guard_user table so there is a corresponding setSfGuardUser() function in the base model. From Actions.class.php, I am attempting to set the current user into the object using this function, (Which I then save in the database). my attempt: ->setSfGuardUser($this->getUser()); //called from inside Actions.class.php this throws an error: Couldn't call Doctrine_Core::set(), second argument should be an instance of Doctrine_Record or Doctrine_Null when setting one-to-one references. ...# at Doctrine_Record->coreSetRelated('sfGuardUser', object('myUser')) Which makes me think that getUser() is not returning a sfGuardUser object, though I don't know how to check this. Can anyone offer any insight?

The touchesMoved method will be invoked and the [[event touchesForView:self] count] will be equal to '3' because there are three touches for the event, but how can you distinguish between the touches?   How did stackOverFlow, excuse me if it wasn't the first implementation of this system. Decide what its initial tags where? I want to provide users with the best experience on my site and am implementing a tags system. I don't care about search engines or any of that. I just care about my users. Does any one have any advice about things that have failed or succeeded when they allowed users to tag things? Does any one know some good resources about the methodologies of user tagging? Does any one know some good resources about implementing a tags system from a programming perspective, database structures, theories, etc ? • In Rails, what could cause a user to have another user's session?

  I have a Rails application using with an authentication system using Restful Authentication without any modification. Users have reported finding themselves logged in as the wrong user. In at least one case it was on their very first page view, never having logged in before. Is it possible their session ids are getting mixed up? Would switching to CookieStore make it impossible for this to happen since no session data is stored on the server this way? I suspect the problem is related to Passenger but I don't know where to start debugging this. Its only happened about 4 times in several months of being live so its virtually impossible to reproduce.   Scenario: I have a fairly generic table (Data), that has an identity column. The data in this table is grouped (lets say by city). The users need an identifier in order for printing on paper forms, etc. The users can only access their cites data, so if they use the identity column for this purpose they will see odd numbers (e.g. a 'New York' user might see 1,37,2028... as the listed keys. Idealy they would see 1,2,3... (or something similar) The problem of course is concurrency, this being a web application you can't just have something like: UserId = Select Count(*)+1 from Data Where City='New York' Has anyone come up with any cunning ways around this problem?

  I've got a site where users follow users they like and can read their latest updates. I'd like to show my users a simple count of how many comments the people they follow have posted in the last 24 hours. I'm having trouble figuring out the query. I have two tables. comment -cid (comment id) -timestamp -uid (id of person who posted the comment) -comment (content of the comment) user_relationships -requester_id (id of the user who followed the person) -requestee_id (id of the person who was followed) In plain english, I think the query is something like this: COUNT the cid.comment from the comments table where uid.comment is equal to requestee_id.user_relationships associated with requester_id.user_relationships value of X. I need to get all the UIDs of people being followed by a given UID from the user_relationship table. Then count up how many comments those people have posted in the last 24 hours and spit that number out. What would this query look like?

• 403 Forbidden for web root on Apache on Mac OS X v10.7, but can access user directories

  When I access http://localhost/ I get 403 Forbidden, but if I access http://localhost/~username it serves up pages. Things I've tried: Checking error logs Swapping out with original httpd conf files Changing DocumentRoot to my user directory (after all that should work if I can access ~username) I've seen 30 plus Q&A sites that all point to people having trouble with user directories being forbidden. I have the opposite problem, and so I'm tearing my hair out here.

• checking is username exists on two tables PHP PDO?

  Me again. I have a users table and a users_banlist table. On my registration form i want to check all in one query whether the username someone entered on form exists in the users table and see if it also exists on the users_banlist table. I can do them on there own in individual queries but would rather do it all in one.
