• Need IPSec help on Windows 2003

  Hey guys, I am trying to configure IPSec between a web and app server in our environment. I want all traffic between these two servers to use IPsec and be encrypted. These servers are on the same domain so i am currently using Kerebos for security, I have also tried pre-defined keys and nothing changed. When I try and ping between the servers I get "Negotiating IP Security" everytime. I have also confirmed that when I change "Require Security" to "Permit" everything works so IPSec is working, I believe its something with my security setup. Under the security tab both servers have the default 3DES keys first and then DES keys. I have also specified tunnel endpoints (the alternate server's IP). What am I missing? Thanks for any help..

• Adsense-type services without the content check?

  Are there any ad-placing services that don't mind that the page is nothing but a page of ads? Someone else with a .cn tld is pointing to my IP address. I currently have that site on its own name based virtual host that responds to every request with a 403, but I figure if I am paying for the incoming bandwidth, I might as well try to make some money off it. I don't want to actually create any content for this site, which prevents me from using adsense. My only requirements are that it is free for me to sign up and that they don't mind the lack of content.

  I have a website, wich i will fill with a bunch of useful videos. I've implemented an ads rotation engine for articles and will do so for videos. The next milestone is to decide, how video will be integrated. They are two ways: To host videos myself. Pros: complete freedom. Cons: need tens of gigabytes of storage; support for multiple formats to be crossbrowser and crossdevice. Use Youtube. Pros: Very simple to use; nothing to do. What are pros and cons for each way ? Some questions for YouTube: Will i be able to control playback of YouTube-embedded video to make post-rolls ? What is ranking impact on my web-site, when most of pages will refer to YouTube ? Will, say, iPad play video, embedded via YouTube's iframe ? Does relying entirely on YouTube have a long-term perspective for a web-site, that should bring money ?

• Macbook Pro Multiple Monitor Problem

  I have been using a Macbook pro (newest model) for about 4 weeks with dual monitors. It has been working great using the mac adaptor to dvi. Today however, my mac will not recognize it's built in monitor while the second monitor is plugged in. Plug in second monitor The screen on the laptop goes dark. The second monitor acts as the main screen. Click "Detect displays". Nothing happens Unplug the second monitor Screen on the laptop comes on. Any thoughts?

• Gnome 3 - Multiple Video Cards - Xinerama -- Forced Fallback Mode

  Just installed a 2nd nvidia video card -- previously had gnome 3 working perfectly with 2 monitors on a a single video card using twinview tried a number of things thus far twinview on 1 card + xinerama no xinerama no twinview various manual xorg.conf hacks based on random forums (couple references below) xinerama no twinview with and without Extensions Composite The last one is what I'm using now -- it results in a forced fallback mode with Composite Disable set at the end of xorg.conf via nvidia-settings Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "Disable" EndSection when I disabled that last snippet it boots to gnome 3 full with the left monitor on a black screen and the middle monitor as primary but non-responsive switching to console mode Ctrl+Alt+F1 and then switching back I get 3 black screens with a mouse that can move around but nothing to interact with issue seems related to OpenGL and the multiple video cards -- I can boot into Unity without issue though my Glx-Dock shows up with the black background as barely shows in the screenshot below indicating the OpenGL is not initiated has anyone had any luck with getting Xinerama to work with Multiple NVidia Video Cards with OpenGL support? • When my printer fails to print with only "printer error" as the message, how can I find details?

  Setup: Dell Latitude D620 in the docking station HP color laserjet 2550L Parallel cable Sometimes when I undock (and I do suspend before undocking and docking), when I reattach, the printer will not print. It simply says "error", with no description. Killing and restarting the spooler will not help, but rebooting will. There is nothing in the system event logs, nor does the print spooler window provide any details other than "error" My question is, when there is an error, is there any way to find out what is causing it to get stuck, so that I can "unstuck" it instead of rebooting?

  I am trying to follow the instructions mentioned here for setting up Google's C++ framework in XCode Version 4.5.2 (4G2008a). • difference between Casini [IIS express] and VS Development server or Expression web

  MVC3 project can be run within Expression web and Visual studio as opened like a website not a project. they work same even if you open blogengine.net project in VS they take a time when you have more theme but expression web debug them in a second. well because theme design not matter for code. Expression web is a good because they save time for compile the code. even changes we make a little in design nothing in backend code.   i found a little difference between Casini and VS development server that if image putted in wrong way like <img src=”//img.png”/> instead of <img src=”/img.png”/> the error we make // instead of / that’s not worked in Expression web or Visual studio debugging but in Cassini it’s work fine.   Well i found that debug Blogengine.net in Expression web is a great thing because in VS they take a time like a minute to debug when you trying to debug first time. Expression Web save a time when we design themes within them and that’s much good option because web is also maked for design.   Well if you want to debug application faster then use casini but Expression web debugging is a good option when they take a long time to debug in Visual studio and EW debug them in a seconds.

• Smoothwall Express interface issues

  I have a SmoothWall Express box that is currently configured with a Green and Purple interface. Both interfaces are in the same /24 subnet (which seems odd to me). The green interface (address of .254) has a DHCP server that is pushing addresses from .1 to .100 and the purple interface (.253) is pushing addresses from .101 to .120. Every machine here is trusted, and as such is connected to the green interface via a wired connection or wireless APs. Nothing is connected at all (port is physically empty, traffic graphs show no activity) to the purple interface. However, every machine here is pulling addresses from the purple interface. So the question boils down to, how do I remove/stop my machines from pulling from the purple dhcp interface? Also, shouldn't the purple interface (if we were using it for guest Wifi or something) be on a different subnet (i.e. 192.168.100.0/24 instead of 192.168.1.0/24 with all the trusted machines)?

• Can't send emails through sendmail, error occured

  Hi, I have sendmail MTA and i use pear:Mail class to send mails through remote sendmail server. Everything was fine till yesterday. Probably nothing changes was made in configs. Packets are deliverd to sendmail server i can see it in tcpdump, but there is smaller packets than on other server which sends emails. Could you tell me how can i check what is wrong with that? D.S.

  I have a linksys router WRT54G2 connected to a cable broadband. Just last week, everything was working perfectly - I would be able to connect my laptop to the internet using WiFi. However, starting last week, I suddenly lost my internet connection. At first I thought something was wrong with my ISP. However, when I tried connecting the cable directly to my laptop, I found out that there was no problem with the internet connection after all. It appears that it is only my router that cannot get IP address. I have already tried cloning my MAC address and reconfiguring my router using the setup CD, but nothing worked. • Firefox Master Password (ssh-agent)

  I use the master password feature of Firefox, and I also use SSH keys to login to a bunch of UNIX machines. For SSH, there is a very useful application called ssh-agent that runs in the background knowing the required information about unlocking the key so you don't have to type the question every single time you want to connect. I open and close Firefox a lot, so I was curious, is there a way to have Firefox run in the background (preferrably doing nothing, but the whole process would be fine I guess as well) so that I don't have to type my master password every single time I open Firefox? • Converting a Full HD Inspiron 9400 laptop LCD to a standalone monitor

  Has anyone tried converting a LCD laptop monitor (17" full HD in this instance) to a stand-alone monitor? Are there any converters that one can buy to send DVI or VGA signals to the plug that is used to connect said LCD to the laptop motherboard? My laptop is the infamous Dell Inspiron 9400 (1705) model. They can have awesome monitors but if you check out ebay, there are many there for sale for little to nothing since the graphic cards fault unsually often in those machines. I'd like to be able to use the LCD and just scrap the rest.

• SVN check out to samba directory

  I'm trying to svn co to a directory on Ubuntu, shared via samba, to OS X, but I get the following error (in OS X). svn: In directory 'site/product/tests' svn: Can't open file 'site/product/tests/.svn/tmp/text-base/._base.py.svn-base': No such file or directory My smb.conf file includes the following changes: unix extensions = no browseable = yes public = yes writable = yes delete readonly = yes create mask = 0775 directory mask = 0775 valid users = %S read only = no The checkout works fine locally (on the Ubuntu machine). What am I missing? More detail: Later inspection showed that the svn error couldn't find the file with 3, then 2 underscores: .___init__.py.svn-base Whereas listing the directory in OS X showed 2, then 2 underscores: __init__.py.svn-base And listing the same directory in a successful checkout on Ubuntu shows nothing (because it's a temporary directory?) I've tried the mangled = no setting in share settings, to no effect.

• Synergy on Mac OS X 10.7

  Unfortunately, I can't seem to get Synergy to work between two Mac clients both using 10.7. One is an older 21" iMac and the other is a new 2011 Macbook Air. Here's my synergy.conf, symlinked to my home directory as ~/.synergy.conf section: screens foo: bar: super = alt alt = super end section: links foo: right = bar bar: left = foo end That is, I thought the super = alt trick was mandatory in order to have alt work on Mac but unfortunately, nothing really works. Both the Command and Control keys do NOT work on bar but work fine on foo given that the keyboard is paired with that screen. The keyboard modifier keys are the same on both computers and the making the mouse go between screens works as well. I was wondering if anyone else had any success or problems running into this issue on 10.7 and was hoping there was a possible fix.

• Stream Music To Ventrilo From ESXi VM

  I would like to stream music to my Ventrilo server from a Windows XP virtual machine running on an ESXi host. I have followed the instructions outlined here to stream music from something like VLC to the Ventrilo server on another machine and it works fine. I have also added the lines: sound.present = "TRUE" sound.virtualDev = "es1371" sound.fileName = "-1" sound.autodetect = "TRUE" to my .vmx file, as suggested here (http://communities.vmware.com/thread/191878), to get a sound card in my VM. The problem I am having is that it seems that my VM is not outputting any sound, so there's nothing to stream through Ventrilo. The Device Manager on the VM shows that this new sound card has drivers and doesn't appear to have any concerns with it. Can someone point me in the right direction to get my desired outcome? Thanks! • VirtuaWin shows Visual Studio 2010 in all Desktops

  I'm using VirtuaWin in Windows 7 to have virtual desktop functionality and I think this program is awesome. There's one small issue, though: on the computer at work, when moving to another desktop it hides all windows in the current desktop, except any windows of Visual Studio 2010. This means that VS 2010 shows up in all desktops, while for all other windows, VirtuaWin applies the correct behavior. The strange thing is that this issue happens on one computer only; on the others I have it works OK. I have checked the Window Rules section and nothing seems strange in there. Is anyone else experiencing this kind of problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

• About to smash my keyboard!! Ubuntu 13.1 issues with AMD driver & Audio

  Let me preface with saying that this is my 2nd day on Linux. I really want to make it work but these issues are driving me up the wall! I've done exhaustive google searches but have not been able to figure anything out. I am on Ubuntu 13.10, my graphics card is AMD Radeon HD4200. My sound card is a realtek HDMI. I've tried downloading and installing both drivers but nothing works. Graphics card: When I run the .run file (from http://www2.ati.com/drivers/legacy/amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13.1-legacy-linux-x86.x86_64.zip) I get an error. I check the fglrx-install log and it says this: Check if system has the tools required for installation. fglrx installation requires that the system have kernel headers. /lib/modules/3.11.0-12-generic/build/include/linux/version.h cannot be found on this system. One or more tools required for installation cannot be found on the system. Install the required tools before installing the fglrx driver. Optionally, run the installer with --force option to install without the tools. Forcing install will disable AMD hardware acceleration and may make your system unstable. Not recommended. Audio: Since my first install I've had no audio. I've tried everything outlined in this site: http://itsfoss.com/fix-sound-ubuntu-1304-quick-tip/ to no avail. I've download the linux drivers from Realtek HDMI audio but have had no luck. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

• Setting up routing for MS DirectAccess to a VMWare EsXi Host

  I'm trying to set up DirectAccess on a virtual machine so I can demonstrate it's value and then if need be add a physical machine to host it. I'm hitting a problem because the Direct Access machine (DA01) needs to have 2 public addresses actually configured on the external adapter but there is a Zyxel Zywall USG300 between the VMware ESXi host and the outside world. I've summarised my setup in this diagram If I ping from the LAN to 212.x.y.89 I get a response but if I ping from the VM I get destination host unreachable. I used "route add 212.x.y.89 192.c.d.1" and get request timed out. At that point I see outbound traffic allowed on the Zyxel firewall but nothing coming back. I'm past my understanding of routing and VMWare so am not sure how to tie down where my problem lies (or even if this setup is possible). So any help massively appreciated. Paul

• persistant data in tor browser bundle?

  What sort of persistent data is generated by bundled Tor? I recently did an experiment using the Tor Browser Bundle for GNU-Linux. I created two directories, A and B, and placed an identical copy of Tor in each one. Next I placed a simple python script in directory A that both launched the vidalia package and, when exiting the network, deleted the entire contents of A with the exception of itself and rebuilt the bundle from the original archive. What surprises me is that after about ten hours of browsing each, A and B now show a distinct difference in startup time. Also curious is that I get a message in the log of B that never shows up in A: new control connection open which is a notice level advisory. This has nothing to do with what I was originally testing but now I'm interested in what exactly is going on. By the way I do not have to rely on Tor for my personal safety as many are forced to do so even if you just have a hunch I'd be interested in hearing it.

• Xcode find in document stuck in case-sensitive

  When in Xcode editing code for my objective C files, I often press Command-F to bring up the little Find-In-Document banner across the top. Sometimes this gets stuck in case-sensitive search, and when it does that it also won't loop through the entire document and sometimes won't even display the selected found string. I can't find any options to turn off the case sensitivity, and I never intentionally turned it on. I've restarted xcode several times hoping that would be it but it's changed nothing. Slightly off-topic, but this was the best place I could think of to ask this question. Thanks for any response!

• How can I find a computer on my network that is doing mass mailings?

  I was notified by my isp that one of my machines is sending out spam. This happened about 3 months ago on windows machine running cygwin that was hacked due to an SSH vuln. The hackers setup IIS and SMTP. I cleared out the machine and all the services are disabled so I think that machine is okay I am wondering if there is any other way to identify which machine it could be coming from? The ISP has NO useful information such as source port, destination port, destination IP... nothing. I am running DD-WRT on my router, Windows 7 PC and a Windows XP PC.
