    I'm writing a script in Python, which is connecting to server via ssh, then installing some packages. But there is problem with dialogue box, where i can type in a root password- i don't know how to send data there. Once I tried to do this, my apt(using Debian Lenny) gone crazy. My network is secured like this: Does that mean that they've used password cracking tools? The pass is not easy to guess but not hard to figure out via brute-force hacking, I guess. If I am being hacked, should I switch to WPA?

    We have just got Windows 8 Release Preview installed in our offices. We wanted to open it up for viewing to the public and I'd like to know if there is a way to let people log in with their Windows Live ID without having to set up a user account for them beforehand? What we are after is a user being able to walk up to the PC, type in their Windows Live ID and password, and they're logged in as a default user. Is this doable in Windows 8, and if so, how?

  • sudo with -u via ssh -t in a crontab

    I'm trying to create a cron job that uses ssh to login to a remote server and run a script as a different user. I try: * * * * * source $HOME/.keychain/$HOST-sh && sudo -u $USER $PATH/$SCRIPT but this doesn't work because there is no -t option specified for ssh. The cron job needs to source the keychain file in order to work without a password, but I'm not sure where to include the -t option for ssh in this instance.

    I've added my gmail account to Mail.app It worked find in previous days, and downloaded thousands of previous mails. But now, it can't connect to gmail server for days. What's the matter here? Here is my config in account setting: Account Type: Gmail IMAP Email Address: [email protected] Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com User Name: [email protected] Password: xxxxxx And also, is there any means that I can view the transaction log of Mail.app? Maybe there I can find more information.

    My laptop (Acer travelmate 4152NlCi)doesn't respond to the keyboard and mouse anymore while booting in Windows Xp Pro Sp3. i can't type the password and login. I have Opensuse 11.0 on it as well and it works. So I can boot into Linux and not Windows, not even in safe mode. What would be the troubleshooting steps?

  • Windows 7 keeps asking for WIFI credentials

    If I want to log onto our WIFI network, Windows keeps asking for credentials. After many connection attempts (and sometimes some reboots) we finally manage to connect. Then the connection usually stays intact for the rest of the day. But it sometimes takes 15-20 minutes before we're online... Needless to say we're using a single username/password for all failing/succeeding attempts. Does anybody recognize these symptoms? How to troubleshoot this?

  • Can't manage Exchange 2007 Room via OWA

    I created a couple of rooms in Exchange 2007 (http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/managing-resource-mailboxes-exchange-server-2007-part1.html)and I want to logon to OWA to manage resource settings but I can't logon to the mailboxes via OWA because of an invalid password error. I've reset it but still no luck. I've granted myself full permissions to the mailbox and try to access via my account but I just get a popup of my own account in the browser (ie9 and ie8). What's going on here?

Because of specific regulation, the only access I have is the puppet agent for configuration and some informations can't be visualized by foreman and the master can't store this information. For example, the puppet agent need to get a secret variable (a password store in a file). How I can get it without know this variable? Also I need to keep reports because I want to know what happen on the server.

    Isn't unencrypted /boot partition a weakness for encrypted LVM setup? Attacker may install a malware to /boot partition so that it may sniff encryption password next time system boots. It may also be done by a malware installed to Windows on dual-boot system without any physical access. Am I missing some protection scheme or at least I may verify that /boot contents didn't change since last system shutdown?

  • How do I config postfix to use multiple google apps user accounts?

    I have a postfix installation and have setup relaying through google apps, but when I send mail to postfix it relays it to google apps using the ONE account I have specified in the main.cf. Is there a way to do this more dynamically. Ideally, the user would authenticate with postfix when sending mail and postfix would use that username and password to authenticate against gmail.     I was testing my app that I've been working on for past 2 months. Basically it requests for JSON, that contains info about items. One field of JSON file is image_url. When I want to display this image, I need to download it from another server, that needs additional credentials. Btw, everything worked fine until now (this is my initial screen, so it's been done for good month and a half). Now I started to do graphics and this problem popped up :(
