• What´s the easiest way for a user authentication in SharePoint 2010

  Hi, does anybody have a manuel that describes the steps to create an anonymous user authentication in SharePoint 2010 (Website for the internet with no authentication). For editing an admin has to log in with forms authentication. Can I hold the admin somewhere in the web.config with membership provider ? Or do I need to install SQL Server somewhere for that task ?   I have a TimeSheet table as: CREATE TABLE TimeSheet ( timeSheetID employeeID setDate timeIn outToLunch returnFromLunch timeOut ); Employee will set his/her time sheet daily, i want to ensure that he/she doesn't cheat. What should i do? Should i create a column that gets date/time of the system when insertion/update happens to the table and then compare the created date/time with the time employee's specified - If so in this case i will have to create date/time column for timeIn, outToLunch, returnFromLunch and timeOut. I don't know, what do you suggest? Note: i'm concerned about tracking these 4 columns timeIn, outToLunch, returnFromLunch and timeOut

  The constant 0 is used as the null pointer in C and C++. But as in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2389251/pointer-to-a-specific-fixed-address there seems to be some possible use of assigning fixed addresses. Is there ever any conceivable need, in any system, for whatever low level task, for accessing the address 0? If there is, how is that solved with 0 being the null pointer and all? If not, what makes it certain that there is not such a need?

  I recall seeing, somewhere, an example that stepped through String args[] by deleting the lowest numbered value(s) public static void main( String args[]) { while (args.length > 0 ) { // do something and obliterate elements from args[] } } Obviously, a variable tracking current position in args and compared to args.length will do it; or an ArrayList made from args[]'s contents, with argsAL.size(). Am I mis-remembering an ArrayList example? I know this is a borderline question, the likely answer is, "No, there isn't and there shouldn't be either!". Maybe I'm over-focused... Bill

I try to update one record to relational tabel, when I reach context.SetLink() I am getting exception("The context is not currently tracking the entity"). I don't know how to solve this problem.   How can I detect if a file is binary or a plain text? Basically my .NET app is processing batch files and extracting data however I don't want to process binary files. As a solution I'm thinking about analysing first X bytes of the file and if there are more unprintable characters than printable characters it should be binary. Is this the right way to do it? Is there nay better implementation for this task?

  Hello. How would I get last 12 digits of a string using mysql? Let's say I have a varchar field with a tracking number, that may be anywhere from 5 to 20 varchars long. But I only need to select last 12 digits or less if there are less. so in a field = 12345678123456789012 I would only need to get what's in brackets field = 12345678[123456789012] I saw a few examples using mid, etc, but they dont' produce the desired result or I can't find an example that makes sense :-( Thank you.
