• Cross version line matching.

  I'm considering how to do automatic bug tracking and as part of that I'm wondering what is available to match source code line numbers (or more accurate numbers mapped from instruction pointers via something like addr2line) in one version of a program to the same line in another. (Assume everything is in some kind of source control and is available to my code) The simplest approach would be to use a diff tool/lib on the files and do some math on the line number spans, however this has some limitations: It doesn't handle cross file motion. It might not play well with lines that get changed It doesn't look at the information available in the intermediate versions. It provides no way to manually patch up lines when the diff tool gets things wrong. It's kinda clunky Before I start diving into developing something better: What already exists to do this? What features do similar system have that I've not thought of?

• Service restarts automatically after it is manually stopped.

  I have created a windows service in C#.NET that is continuously running. Now when i stop it from the services.msc initially it shows that it has been stopped but after some time when i refresh the services.msc it shows as started again. I also checked in the task manager at the same time, i see that the exe of my application gets killed but starts on its own again. Please help.

  I am trying to download a list of files from a ftp server using: NSURL *ftpUrl = [NSURL URLWithString:@"ftp://xxx:[email protected]"]; I HAVE to use FTP, so please do not recommend an alternative. I want to know how to get the list of files from the root directory and also navigate inside folders (of FTP server). P.S: I do not think external library would be required to accomplish such an easy task, but if I must, any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank You :)

  I am using MySQL DB and I have created a PHP script for the following, now i need the idea for the below asked question.... please help... I have a table called audit trail whose structure is: id, trackid, table, operation, newvalue, oldvalue, field, changedone I have created triggers for insert/update/delete for every table of same DB, now whenever there is change in ny DB the triggers get activated and updates the Audit trail table accordingly.. I am tracking these changes so that i can use these changes to be done on production DB which is of same structure as of this test DB. Also when the admin finds that he does not need the changes recently he did for production DB then he can rollback it using the Old Data it stored in Ausittrail table of test db. Now here in audit trail table structure, there will be an insert for every single field change like-wise if a table has 4 fields then the change in that tavle will insert 4 rows in audit trail.. Coming to the question now, How can i find the latest change done from the Audit table so that I can insert these changes in Production DB.

  This is about a classifieds website, where anyone may post classifieds. I have a security database which I intend to fill with information about the user who posts the classifieds. I intend to record information such as IP, name, tel, email, classified_text, classified_title etc etc. The reason for all this is that sometimes people become victims of fraud (fake classifieds etc). So I wonder, what information is possible to get from the poster which may help in tracking him/her down? IP is a given, but what else could be useful? And I would much like examples of how it would be useful also, as well as the code for it please, like $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']. And btw, I use PHP and have Sql as a database. Thanks

  Hello Everybody, I've got a question regarding a SQL-select-query: The table contains several columns, one of which is an Integer-column called "size" - the task I'm trying to perform is query the table for the sum of all rows (their values), or to be more exact get a artifical column in my ResultSet called "overallSize" which contains the sum of all "size"-values in the table. Preferable it would be possible to use a WHERE-clause to add only certain values ("WHERE bla = 5" or something similar). The DB-engine is HSQLDB (HyperSQL), which is compliant to SQL2008.   I need to implement change tracking on two tables in my SQL Server 2005 database. I need to audit additions, deletions, updates (with detail on what was updated). I was planning on using a trigger to do this, but after poking around on Google I found that it was incredibly easy to do this incorrectly, and I wanted to avoid that on the get-go. Can anybody post an example of an update trigger that accomplishes this successfully and in an elegant manner? I am hoping to end up with an audit table with the following structure: ID LogDate TableName TransactionType (update/insert/delete) RecordID FieldName OldValue NewValue ... but I am open for suggestions.
