  • Browser pollution / Pop Up request

    From time to time, when I browse the internet , after entering a site's URL , I get a warning message that a pop up has been blocked , then a question mark and a set of numbers appends itself after the URL. It doesn't matter what site I want to navigate to, it can be a site I have developed, a well know site like drupal.org for instance. Here's what happens: enter url: example.com warning: pop up blocked url change to: example.com/?1347628900 After checking the pop up ( which of course turns out to be an unwanted ad ), i deducted that the request and the pop up were linked. This has never happened to me before, I'm not sure how this got started, how can I get rid of this? Clearing the cache , cookies etc... doesn't solve the issue. I'm using a Macbook Pro OS10.6.7 , Chrome 13.0.782.24 beta. Thanks in advance for any tips!

    I have Asterisk/1.8.13.1 Asterisk GUI-version : SVN--r Yes, quite old one, but I can not update it since this is installed on my Synology NAS. NAS is connected to internet thru router Asus RT-N16. I should use the following data to connect to the server: Auth name – 7499952XXXX User name/User ID/Display Name – nickname Authorization user name - [email protected] Domain - sip.beeline.ru SIP proxy server - msk.sip.beeline.ru I've also found the following string: [email protected]:password:[email protected]@msk.sip.beeline.ru:5060/7499952XXXX I've tested the parameters on my PC thru X-Lite and it works well (so, assume there is no any problem with the router, no need to do anything with router's NAS settings). But since I am quite new to Asterisk, I can not understand where to input all these data. Asterisk GUI doesn't have fields for proxy: Can somebody please help me with step-by-step instruction?     I have been experiencing some very strange behavior using html buttons with the onserverclick attribute. What I am trying to do is use jQuery to designate the default button on the page. By default button I mean the button that is "clicked" when a user hits enter. In testing, I would hit enter while in an input field and sometimes the intended "default" button was clicked and the server side method defined in the corresponding onserverclick attribute was hit. Other times a post back was made without hitting the server method. In Firefox 3.6 and IE 8 when only one input exists on the page, hitting enter does not trigger the onserverclick, it makes a post back without even being jQuery "clicked" or actually "clicked". You can test this by starting with two inputs and clicking "test2". This will output "server method2 was hit". Then just hit enter and the output will be "server method1 was hit. Now take away an input and run the same test. Click "test2" see the results, then hit enter and you will see that nothing will change because the "test1" method was never hit. Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks p.s. Chrome worked as expected

    I have a rather annoying format I need to implement. There are 2 cells, both containing a date (cell A and B). B contains a date (24-06-2011). Cell B should be colored if cell A is between a date range, based on cell B. So if cell A lies between cell B - 7 days and cell B - 11 days, then it should be triggered. So with numbers: If B is 24-06-2011 then the range (which is not in any cell in the spreadsheet) is 13-06-2011 until 17-06-2011. If the date in cell A (let's say 14-06-2011) is in that range, cell B should be colored. Any ideas?

  • Command+tab, expose and many other functions stop working after screen sharing

    When I'm away from my office mac I typically login via screen-sharing or VNC from home/another mac. Lately, after using screen sharing this way, my office mac will have several problems: Command+tab and Command+` no longer work Expose and other F-key functions no longer work ctrl+space to launch Google QSB no longer works Things I have tried to remedy this: Restarting the Finder process Restarting the Dock process Disabling the screensaver Unfortunately, the screensaver still runs... A connected issue? Deleting preference files for Dock/Finder/screensaver etc. The only thing that seems to work is a restart. I usually try and avoid that. System details: Macbook pro 13" OS v10.5.8

    How do you repair/reinstall Fedora without deleting any existing partitions or data? I was attempting to upgrade some old Fedora 13 servers to 17, following the instructions in the wiki. After the 14-15 upgrade, rebooting resulted in the output: Dropping to debug shell. sh: can't access tty; job control turned off dracut:/# Running dmesg also shows: dracut Warning: No root device "block:/dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_root" found Googling shows this error is typically related to some weird RAID issues, but my server is a virtual machine not using any RAID. Using a rescue CD, I can chroot /mnt/sysimage, and all packages and data still seems to be there. How do I make the system bootable again?

  • How can i automatically move files based on their name?

    I have 13 folders containing scanned photographs. Some photographs have been renamed to the date on which they were taken, resulting in YYYY.MM.DD.tif name. It could potentially be YYYY.MM.DD (###).tif where ### is just a number. Others are just named IMG_###.tif I would like to move the files with the YYYY.MM.DD name to a YYYY\MM\DD folder structure. While the files are being moved, I would also like to append the original folder name to the end of the file name. So, a file 01\2012.06.26 (1).tif should end up 2012\06\26\2012.06.26 (1) - 01.tif Is there a Windows tool that can help me with this? Or do I need to resort to writing a custom app?

  • Unknown monitor in Lenovo laptop

    I have set of two Lenovo laptops on which Fedora core 13 is installed. On one machine, the monitor is detected properly such that it is possible to connect another monitor. But on another laptop, the monitor is shown as unknown monitor. I tried to fix it by reinstalling xorg-x11-drv-intel.i686. But the problem remains same (unknown monitor) and it is not possible to connect another monitor with this setting. Laptop model: Lenovo G460. Graphics card: Intel Graphics Media accelerator HD.     I have been considering replacing Ubuntu with OpenBSD to improve the security on my local server. I need to have ssh access to it, and I also need it to serve static web content - so the only ports I need open are 22 and 80. However, when I scan my server for open ports after installing OpenBSD 4.8, and enabling ssh and http at /etc/rc.conf httpd_flags="" sshd_flags="" I discovered that it had several other open ports: Port Scan has started… Port Scanning host: 192.168.56.102 Open TCP Port: 13 daytime Open TCP Port: 22 ssh Open TCP Port: 37 time Open TCP Port: 80 http Open TCP Port: 113 ident ssh (22) and http (80) should be open as I enabled httpd and sshd, but why are the other ports open, and should I worry about them creating additional security vulnerabilities? Should they be open in a default installation?

    I am trying to use JQuery to pull a binary file from a webserver, parse it in Javascript and display the contents. I can get the file ok and parse some of the file correctly. How ever I am running into trouble with one byte not coming out as expected. I am parsing the file a byte at a time, it is correct until I get to the hex value B6 where I am getting FD instead of B6. Function to read a byte data.charCodeAt(0) & 0xff; File As Hex: 02 00 00 00 55 4C 04 00 B6 00 00 00 The format I want to parse the file out into. short: 0002 short: 0000 string: UL short: 0004 long: 0000B6 Any hints as to why the last value is incorrect?

    On a windows 2k8R2 DC box the eventlog service wont start. When i try to start the service the machine returns: "Windows could not start the Windows Event Log service on Local Computer. Error 13: The data is invalid." event viewer wont open either. obviously, i dont have an event log for this error. ive already tried clearing the event logs. that didnt do anything. the other DC isnt experiencing this issue.

    I need to alias all mail coming from another SMTP server to this one account "myinbox". The system in question is to receive all e-mail on the domain, if that's any help. http://william.shallum.net/random-notes/sendmailredirectallmailfordevelopment is a template for the beginning of a solution, but that routes everything (including outgoing and internal mail) to that one account, and trying to understand how these R rules work is making my head spin. I think the answer is in sendmail.mc rather than any Procmail configuration. So I think what I generally don't want the filter to do is: Interfere w/any outgoing e-mail Interfere w/any internal e-mail Sometimes some cron job causes "root" to mail to "root". I don't want these to go to myinbox. Cause infinite loops Who does? Bounce messages and any DSNs come to mind. I'm running Sendmail 8.13.1 and Procmail 3.22.

  • apache requests failing

    I'm trying to figure out why sometimes the client fails to load objects/requests from a dynamic page served from Apache/MySql/Debian machine. Let's say 13 objects are to be loaded for a total of 185.3 KB load, with no external objects (no DNS lookups) and no other traffic at the same time, randomly some of those object do not load. However, if I perform a refresh, sometimes all of them load or some might fail again. I only have 1Mbps/up and my DNS is been hosted externally (everydns). What could be the reason of this issue? Any comments will be appreciated.

This boards seems alright for my needs (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131665&cm_re=sabertooth--13-131-665--Product), but I am afraid it's going to be too tight for both of my graphic cards.   • Running Emacs on Multiple TTYs in screen

    When working with EMACS over SSH, is there any way to spawn a new frame of the same emacs session on a different terminal? In my use case, I have screen running, so I have multiple terminals, and can recover which pseudo terminal they're attached to with pts. Suppose I have two "windows" (in GNU screen parlance). The first one is attached to /dev/pts/12 and the second one is attached to /dev/pts/13. I launch emacs on the first window. Is there any way for me to start a new frame of the same session on the second window? I've been playing with passing arguments to make-frame but it seems that the usage that allows me to specify a terminal requires that a terminal object already exists, and I can't see any way to create a new terminal object.

  • Unable to diagnose Windows 7 lockup

    Basic info: Laptop Dell Studio XPS 13 (Intel P9600, 4GB RAM, NVidia 9400M card, 256G Samsung PM800 SSD) Windows 7 Ultimate, as well as Fedora 14 Here's the deal - Windows would just lock up out of nowhere, no log entries, no dumps, no BSOD, it just freezes. This happens mostly when idle (but it happened when I was using it too) and does not follow a concrete time frame. No input is accepted - only solution is to hold the power button. Although this sounds like a clean cut hardware issue, the reason I'm willing to rule this out is that my primary OS is Fedora 14. It's been working fine for the past 2 years and I've been stress testing the hardware (intentionally or not) every once in a while with no issues. I would like to ask if there's any way to get a diagnostic output from Windows in a situation such as this. The next step in my testing is to leave it in Safe Mode overnight and see if it locks up but even if I do that, I still need to figure out what component freezes it up during normal operation.

They keys are a human readable date ("2010-05-04.dump"), and along with that, I'm setting a metadata field to the UNIX time of the dump. I want to write a script that retrieve the latest dump from the bucket. That is to say I want the the key with the largest unix time metadata value. Is this possible with Amazon S3, or is this not how S3 is meant to work? I'm using both the command line tool aws, and the python library boto

    I've heard that MariaDB has better performance than MySQL-Server. I'm running software that makes an intensive use of MySQL, thats why I want to try upgrading to MariaDB. Please tell me your experiences doing this conversion, and instructions or tips. Also, which files I should take care of for making a backup of MySQL-Server, so if something goes wrong with MariaDB, I could rollback to MySQL without issues?   • XmlSerializer.Deserialize method appends timezone to a time and datetime field

    Have a small script in Microsoft.NET 2.0 that deserializes a XML back to a typed object, connects dyanimcally to a web service using ServiceDescription and binds the deserialized typed object to the WebMethod inbound. The XML prior to serialization looks like below <completion_time>12:19:38</completion_time> on the wire when communicating to the web service looks like below <completion_time>12:19:38.0000000-04:00</completion_time> with the timezone appended to the end. This is causing the time to be read differently when communicating to a web service at a different timezone. is there anyway to let XmlSerializer skip the timezone? Or any other known workarounds?

  • What is normal SCSI error handling process (scsi_eh_3) CPU time usage?

    Last week I got setup with a new dedicated server that is running 4x SCSI drives in RAID 10 on CentOS. The machine is pretty lightly loaded at the moment and has been running for 8 days. The process 'scsi_eh_3' has a CPU time of 13:09.67 in top. This is 3x the next closest CPU time of 4:03.93 for mysqld. Is it normal for the scsi error handling process to use this much CPU time? (Seems like it goes to 0.3% usage ever 5 seconds.) Could this be an indicator that one or more of the drives is having issues?
