  • How to keep a local value from being set when a binding fails (so inherited values will propagate)

    Consider the following scenario: I want to bind the TextElement.FontWeight property to an xml attribute. The xml looks somewhat like this and has arbitrary depth. <text font-weight="bold"> bold text here <inlinetext>more bold text</inlinetext> even more bold text </text> I use hierarchical templating to display the text, no problem there, but having a Setter in the template style like: <Setter Property="TextElement.FontWeight" Value="{Binding XPath=@font-weight}"/> sets the fontweight correctly on the first level, but overwrites the second level with null (as the binding can't find the xpath) which reverts to Fontweight normal. I tried all sorts of things here but nothing quite seems to work. e.g. i used a converter to return UnsetValue, which didn't work.     I have a web service project that needs to be set to use Integrated Windows Authentication after installation. Normally, I would install the web service, then manually go to IIS and make sure the box is checked for Integrated Windows Authentication. There has to be a way to do this through code. I have looked up on using the Installer class. It looks like this is something I could use, but I have not found anything on setting properties programmatically in IIS.

    While I could use memcached on Debian to use the default 11211 port, but I've had great difficulty setting up unix socket, Form what I'v read, I know that I need to create a memcache.socket and add -s /path/to/memcache.socket -a 0766 To /etc/memcached.conf and comment out the default connection port and IP, i.e. -p 11211 -l 127.0.0.1 However, when I restart memcached I get internal server errors on Drupal site. I'm trying to implement unix sockets to avoid TCP/IP overhead and boost overal memcached performance, however not sure how much performance gain one can expect of this tweak. I appreciate your hints or possibly configs to to resolve this.

    Hello, I am writing a method that will set the properties of an object passed as a parameter. The method accepts one parameter of type interface and the return type of the method is the same interface. I was wondering if there is some kind of a naming convention for such methods. I was thinking of something like: FillInInterfaceTypeData or InitInterfaceTypeData but both sound clumsy to me. How do you think?

    I have VS2003, VS2005 and VS2008 installed on my machine. The C++ application is compiled with VS2005 but when it crashs and i select debug the Just-In-Time Debugging dialog comes up and only offers me "New instance of Visual Studio .NET 2003". Debugging a 2005 compiled program with 2003 is not possible. If i attach the process to VS2005 then it works well, but this is very inconvenient. How do i set .NET 2005 vor JIT debugging?

    Hi, I use MAMP PRO as global webserver. First of all, is it a good idea? Secondly, my objective is to run a Drupal website with as easy management as possible. Now I want to use Plugin Manager module to install additional modules and themes for my website. It wants to use ftp for that, and I know that if I open access to FTP port then IT-department guys will come to me and ask to shut it down. So I wonder if there is a way to allow Plugin Manager to install modules, having the port 21 closed somehow?

  • A button to set all processes to on-hold for Linux?

    When Linux starts swapping you're basically doomed. Very soon the system won't react to any input any more, but happily swap on until the end of days... Can you think of a command that holds all processes whatsoever, thus (and while) allowing you to open a clean shell where you can examine the source of the problem and kill the process which ate up all the memory? (I guess this won't be easy, because as the memory is probably completely filled up you'd need to swap out some more memory to gather space for opening a shell, on the other hand all other swapping processes must be stopped.) If you tied such a command to a hot key then maybe you can use this as an emergency button saving you a lot a time. Any ideas if this is possible at all? Has somebody tried something like this before? If one could realize this it would be a cool feature :)

    Hi, I apologize for the crudeness of my MSPaint drawing, but please view my diagram of what I'd like to accomplish: Proposed home network architecture Currently, all devices are connected to 1 wireless router. I would like to make my own subnet, with a box in-between my subnet and the shared wireless router, so that I can learn about IDS, traffic analysis, etc. I was also given a cisco PIX firewall to play around with, and it'd be an added bonus if I could incorporate that into my network. The reason for this proposed architecture is so that I can monitor all MY traffic, without seeing anything going on with my roommates' traffic. my MAIN Question is, is it possible to have my desktop connect to the wireless router with internet via wireless card AND share that connection via the ethernet card, hooked to wireless router 2? cable modem - wireless router - desktop pc connected wirelessly - wireless router 2 getting internet from wired connection to desktop pc - laptops connected wirelessly The PIX can be left out for now, but I'm wondering if it could eventually be incorporated?   • How do I set up multiple Magento sites from the same domain?

    I have a Magento installation with two sites, each with a shop and a view. I have an EU store in one site and a NON-EU store in the other. Both sites use a different currency. At present both of these websites are located on the same domain. I have been able to switch between stores using cookies but this seems to cause an inherit amount of problems. Every time a user creates an account on the non-default shop they get a blank error message. They also get a blank error message when they log in. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I need to use a different currency for each store but they all need to be on the same domain.

  • Adaptec 2020SA RAID controller Set up in RAID5, one drive went down, can I still get data?

    I have 6 1tb drives in a RAID5. 1 drive went down. On the RAID was 2 virtual machines that I really need back up and running. The spare drive I have to put in the server is a 1.5tb drive, which exceeds the physical per drive limit of the 2020SA. The drive is found in the disk utility, but it is not found in the array management section. I cannot add the drive to the array to have it rebuild. I have a replacement drive along with some spares on their way from Newegg, but I am still looking at a few days of downtime. Is it possible to use the 5 working drives to get the VMs copied off and on to another server or do I just have to wait for the drives to get here?

    I know. This sounds complicated =D I made a PHP file browser, as an alternative to the apache one. I needed it for logic purposes, it does extra things for me, &etc. So instead of dropping this file in all of my directories, how could I get it to "show up" in all my directories that don't have an index (would use the apache dirlisting by default)? Thanks for the help! Edit I wonder if this could be done using Alias and DirectoryIndex? Is it possible to alias to a file?

    I have been looking for information about using a second monitor, and thought of using a touchscreen. Will a touchscreen monitor work in a dual setup if it is not the main monitor? I haven't found any information on this; I've only found information about the touchscreen being the main monitor. That is, except at this SU question (snippet below): If you mean do the touch screen features still work on the other machine, the answer is yes. Past that, you can even see some of the touch screen features on a non touch screen monitor (just not the multi touch features!) For example, on the taskbar, click (without releasing) on any icon and then drag the mouse up, and you will see that it does the same as using your finger and dragging up. I have a HP 2510 for the main monitor. I'm thinking of adding a HP 2310ti (the touchscreen) as the secondary. My graphics card is a geforce gtx 295. I'm running Windows 7 Professional.

    I have the following command that lists all files with the extension doc, docx, etc. find . -maxdepth 1 -iname \*.doc\* The command returns numerous files some of which I would like to delete. So for example the results returned are Example.docx Dummydata.doc Sample.doc I would like to delete Sample.doc and Dummydata.docx. How do I delete the files using the -exec option. Am I able to pass in the names of the files e.g. rm Dummydata.docx Sample.doc hence the command would look as follows find . -maxdepth 1 -iname \*.doc\* -exec rm Dummydata.docx Sample.doc Can I pass the names of the files within {} afterrm`? e.g. find . -maxdepth 1 -iname \*.doc\* -exec rm {Dummydata.docx} Sample.doc Is there a better way of doing it?
