• Error in Using Dynamic Data Entities WebSite in VS2012

  I decided to use Dynamic Data Entities website in vs2012. So, I created this website,then added App_Code directory and added a new edmx to it and named it myDB.edmx. After that I uncommented the code line in global.asax which registers the entity context : DefaultModel.RegisterContext(typeof(myDBEntities), new ContextConfiguration() { ScaffoldAllTables = true }); But when I run the website this error occurs : The context type 'myDBEntities' is not supported. how can I fix it? p.s: You now there are some differences between using L2S by Dynamic Data L2S website AND using entity framework by Dynamic Data Entities website.

My question is how can I receive this text in the caller side? Any help will be much appreciated.

• jQuery Ajax: Copy - Paste thingy

  Hi everyone, I have a form where a check an input field for its value and then i do an Ajax call using the typewatch plugin ( a small little thing which detects that the user has stopped typing after a predefined interval ). It works great. As this field is a "coupon discount" in an order form, the value could be entered by copy pasting the "coupon code" from an email or something. It also works with Ctrl+C - Ctrl+V for Copy and paste but not when a user selects the text with the mouse, clicks copy from the context menu and then paste from this menu. Is there a way in jQuery to check for this kind of behaviour in jQuery somehow?

• nHibernate Linq Projection

  I am using the version 1.0 release of Linq for nHibernate. When I run the following linq statements I receive the error not a single-length projection: Surname I can find very few references to this on the web and looking into the source it says it should never occur! ClientID is a Int type and Surname is a string. • String Vector program exits before input

  Hi, I am trying to use jQuery to position an inpage div (Context-Menu) relative to a clicked tablerow on a webpage. This works fine until I add an offset with either "left" or "margin-left" to the outer container. Using padding-left works.... The relevant code is: $('#supermenu').position({ my: "left top", at: "left top", of: $(event.target).closest('tr'), collision: "fit" }); The caller looks like: <tr onclick="getMenu(event)"><td>.... What happens: The left margin is added "twice" to the X Offset, so the Menu is not aligned to the left border of the table but somewhere right of it. The offset from the border is exactly the offset from the outer container. Anybody can shed some light? Oliver

  You can use the URL helper in Code Igniter to load CSS and Javascript with the base_url() method, but what if you have images dynamically being placed into your HTML via javascript? for example in my javascript file I've got var arrowimages={down:['downarrowclass', 'images/down.png', 23], right:['rightarrowclass', 'images/right.png']} and those images will be placed into whatever menu item I've specified has a drop down menu. but that file is a .js file so obviously the server won't load php inside of it. so, how can I set the base url for the JS?   I have an NSArrayController which is bound to a class in my Managed Object Context. During runtime the NSArrayController can have a number of different filter predicates applied. At certain intervals, I want to iterate through my NSArrayController's contents regardless of the filter predicate applied to it. To do this, I set the filterPredicate to nil and then reinstate it after having iterated through my array. This seems to work, but I'm wondering if it's best practice? Should I instead be polling my Managed Object Context manually?   Hello All, Could someone please advise in the context of a ASP.Net application is a shared/static function common to all users? If for example you have a function Public shared function GetStockByID(StockID as Guid) as Stock Is that function common to all current users of your application? Or is the shared function only specific to the current user and shared in the context of ONLY that current user? So more specifically my question is this, besides database concurrency issues such as table locking do I need to concern myself with threading issues in shared functions in an ASP.Net application? In my head; let’s say my application namespace is MyTestApplicationNamespace. Everytime a new user connects to my site a new instance of the MyTestApplicationNamespace is created and therefore all shared functions are common to that instance and user but NOT common across multiple users. Is this correct?

  Is it possible to resize an openGL window (or device context) created with wglCreateContext without disabling it? If so how? Right now I have a function which resizes the DC but the only way I could get it to work was to call DisableOpenGL and then re-enable. This causes any textures and other state changes to be lost. I would like to do this without the disable so that I do not have to go through the tedious task of recreating the openGL DC state. • Why does jQuery do this in its constructor function implementation?

  If we look at the latest jQuery source at http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js we see the following: var jQuery = function( selector, context ) { // The jQuery object is actually just the init constructor 'enhanced' return new jQuery.fn.init( selector, context ); } My understanding of the new keyword in Javascript is essentially JavaScript passes the function an empty object {} and the function sets stuff on it via this.blah. Also from my understanding new differs from .call/.apply etc.. in that the return object also has the prototype set to that of the function. So the return value should have a prototype that the same as jQuery.prototype.init.prototype (or jQuery.fn.init.prototype). However from what I see its prototype is set to jQuery.prototype thus all the commands available to work on the set. Why is this? What am I missing in my understanding?

• VS2010 is removing code from designer without warning - causing issues

  I have a WinForm with a pretty complex layout (has lots of controls, panels, etc.) Whenever i open the form the file is automatically checked out from source control and it removes anything in the designer file that refereces my menustrip or statusstrip ie: the following get removed (w/o warning) Me.MyMenuStip.SuspendLayout() Me.MyStatusStrip.SuspendLayout() Me.MyMenuStrip.ResumeLayout(False) Me.MyMenuStrip.PerformLayout() Me.MyStatusStrip.ResumeLayout(False) Me.MyStatusStrip.PerformLayout() The code still builds, but there are no Menu or Status items rendered. Any ideas on what i can do? I do not want to just remove/add the menustrip for instance cause i would loose all of my menu items (and there are a lot) Thanks in advance!

  By default, Glassfish v3 doesn't set the httpOnly flag on session cookies (when created as usual with request.getSession()). I know, there is a method javax.servlet.SessionCookieConfig.setHttpOnly(), but I'm not sure, if that's the best way to do it, and if yes, where the best place would be to put that line. BTW, of course it can't be done in the servlet itself (e.g. in init()): java.lang.IllegalStateException: PWC1426: Unable to configure httpOnly session tracking cookie property for servlet context /..., because this servlet context has already been initialized Generally, I would prefer to use a configuration option e.g. in web.xml.

• How to find what element mouse is over in Prototype

  I have a situation where an element is shown using ajax. I have attached mouseenter and mouseleave events to it to show a menu connected to the element using prototype. This works fine, but the problem I am having is that if a user has his/her mouse in the place where the element is shown before it is shown, the mouseenter does not get triggered and the attached menu does not get shown. I already have an afterFinish function that is called after a SlideDown effect, so I was thinking I could put another function in there to check if the users mouse is over the element or not. How would I go about checking what element the users mouse is over in prototype?

Any ideas on how to make my action receive selectionChanged() notifications even before the fist time it is being invoked?
