• 'Generating code' and stop in building release mode (Visual Studio 2005 )

  Hi! I have a problem about release build I'm using Visual Studio 2005. The project is worked on MFC When I build the project what I working in debug mode, It builds done successfully. but in release mode, Output window shows next 1Compiling resources... 1Linking... 1Generating code and then.. it doesn't pass. It seems like be stoped. After 20 min ,I just canceld build. It has been built well before. I just added some files(.h .cpp) and resorces(.bmp), not special code and it happened. Do you have any idea about that? please help me

• How to get image from relative URL in C#, the image cannot be in the project

  I have a project where I'm loading relative image Uri's from an xml file. I'm loading the image like this: if (child.Name == "photo" && child.Attributes["href"] != null && File.Exists(child.Attributes["href"].Value)) { Image image = new Image(); image.Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(child.Attributes["href"].Value, UriKind.RelativeOrAbsolute)); images.Add(image); } Where the "child" object is an XmlNode which could looks like this <photo name="info" href="Resources\Content\test.png"/> During debug it seemd images is filled with actual images but when I want to see them in any way it shows nothing. Weird thing is when I include the images in my project it does work, I however dont want to do that since my point for using an xml file is so that it would be lost since you'd have to rebuild the program anyway after a change.

  I have a Marketing service running locally through port 49481 and through IIS on port 65000. Either way when I try to debug into that service, I get an error message - {"There was no endpoint listening at http:/localhost:49481/Marketing.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details."} My inner exception is - {"The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found."} I can open that service address, http:/localhost:49481/Marketing.svc, through a browser and I get a message that it's running ok. My config file is set up like - <endpoint address="http://localhost:49481/Marketing.svc" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_IMarketing" contract="SunriseMarketing.IMarketing" name="BasicHttpBinding_IMarketing" /> What am I missing?

• QWinWidget's position is always 0 (zero)

  I hosted a QWinWidget in a CView and want it to stay at a designated position when resizing. But QWinWidget always moves to (0, 0), i.e. left-top corner of the CView.   I'm trying to debug an iPhone app I'm working on, and the idea of adding fifty NSLog statements to the various source files gives me the willies. What I'd like to do is write a pair of statements, say NSString *methodName = [self methodName]; NSLog(@"%@", methodName); that I can just paste into each method I need to. Is there a way to do this? Is there some Objective-C construct for asking a method for its name? Or am I gonna have to do this the hard way?

  I want to learn Web UI design. (I know, I know. Being a programmer puts me at a disadvantage. But I want to try anyway.) Thus, I would like to "debug" my CSS files. Once of the biggest annoyances I have found is that I cannot test a change in my CSS files without reloading the whole page. Sometimes, the page is too big. Sometimes, a lot of elements were brought to the page after lots of clicks, because my pages rely too heavily on AJAX. Sometimes, I just hate hitting Command+R all the time. Is there any extension for any of the major browsers (preferably Safari and/or Chrome) that re-renders the page using an updated version of the CSS file, without reloading the whole page itself?

• Open an Application .exe window inside another application

  I have an application in WPF running. I would like that, when a button is clicked inside this application, another application opens, with its window maximized. However, I don't want my first application to stop and wait. I want both to be open and running independently. When the button is clicked again, in case the application is minimized, the application is maximized. In case it is not, it is open again. How is it possible using C#? • javan-whenever not writing crontab with Capistrano deploy

  I’ve been trying to get whenever running on an ec2 instance that was created with ec2 on rails. When I deploy with Capistrano it indicates that the crontab was written, but when I log into the server and run crontab -l it does not seem to have been changed. If I go into the release folder and manually run whenever --write-crontab then run crontab -l - it gets updated properly. Any ideas what could be causing this? Capistrano is not indicating any errors so not sure how to debug, have tried a billion permutations and combinations and nothing changes.

On the server running the latest version QtWebkit and Python 2.6 On some sites (eg 118114.cn) problem and the application hangs forever. Debug shows that the problem in this code snippet: while self.__loading:    if timeout 0 and time.time() = cancelAt:       raise RuntimeError("Request timed out on %s" % url)    while QApplication.hasPendingEvents():       QCoreApplication.processEvents() Full version of the source code is available here (lines 270-275) Somehow Loading-event hangs and hasPendingEvents can not be False. • Scrapy + Eclipse PyDev : how to setup the debugger?

I did it by setting a new Run/Debug configuration : Whose main module links to Scrapy /usr/local/bin/scrapy for me (I've found suggestion to use cmdline.py but that failed on my computer (OSX Lion & scrapy installed through easy_install) Defining the arguments to send "crawl ny" in my case as I would if I used the Scrapy command line Setting the correct working directory (${workspace_loc:My Project/src} in my case) Eclipse can successfully launch my project, but I've no debbuger. I'm missing my breakpoints and variable inspection, does anyone know how to setup the debbugger with this environment ?

• Visual studio 2010 colourizers, intellisense and the rest. Where to start!!

  Ok, before I begin I realize that there is a lot of documentation on this subject but I have thus far failed to get even basic colourization working for VS2010. My goal is to simply get to a point where I can open a document and everything is coloured red, from here I can implement the relevant parsing logic. Here's what I have tried/found: 1) Downloaded all the relevent SDK's and such- Found the ook sample (http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/ookLanguage) - didn't build, didn't work. 2) Knowing almost nothing about MEF read through "Implementing a Language Service By Using the Managed Package Framework" - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb166533(v=VS.100).aspx This was pretty much a copy and paste of all the basic stuff here, and also updating some references which were out of date with the sample see: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vsx/thread/a310fe67-afd2-4592-b295-3fc86fec7996 Now, I have got to a point where when running the package MEF appears to have hooked up correctly (I know this because with the debugger open I can see that the packages initialize and FDoIdle methods are being hit). When I open a file of the extension I have registered with the ProvideLanguageExtensionAttribute everything dies as if in an endless loop, yet no debug symbols hit (though they are loaded). Looking at the ook sample and the MEF examples they seem to be totally different approaches to the same problem. In the ook sample there are notions of Clasifications and Completion controllers which aren't mentioned in the MEF example. Also, they don't seem to create a Package or Language service, so I have no idea how it should work? With the MEF example, my assumption is that I need to hook into the "IScanner.ScanTokenAndProvideInfoAboutIt" to provide syntax highlighting? Which would be fine if I could ever hit this method. So my first question I guess is which approach should I be taking here? Or do they both somehow tie together? My second questions is, where can I find a basic fully working project that implements bog standard basic syntax highlighting and intellisense or VS2010? Thirdly, in the MEF example when I created a Package there were a bunch of test projects created for me. I appears that the integration tests launch the VS2010 test rig somehow, but the test fails. It would be good to write my service with tests but I have no idea what/how I can test each interaction so any references to testing Language services would be helpful. • After changing position labels of items are gone

• Im having trouble getting SWFUplader to play ball in my codeigniter application

  I have this peice of code in my handler.js, I'm getting the correct serverData value throught ajax, ( Well it's echoed correctly un the alert box) but no matter what, i just cant seem to enter either of the 'if' blocks. I have double checked the type and it is a string. • How to tell iPhone NSURLConnection to abort

  I have an app that makes moderate use of NSURLConnection. These async calls eventually finish and release properly (it looks like), but sometimes it takes some time for them to finish. So, there are times when I exit the app, (note, not just sending it the background), that some of these connections are still active. If I immediately restart the app, the app freezes on startup. (didFinishLaunchingWithOptions never seems to get called). While I'm not certain these connections are the issue, it would probably be good to terminate or cancel any remaining. Any suggestions on how to do this? Bonus points on how to debug the restart also. (I'm already saving NSLog statements to a downloadable file)

  I have a simple asp .net web project I'm working on, and while normally everything is going fine, if I try to debug the site, I get "SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified". I'm not sure if its a weird code issue or a weird SQL Server Issue, but here are the system specs anyway. My dev machine is Windows 7 32-bit, and a Windows Server 2008 VM (on the same Windows 7 Machine) runs both IIS and SQL Server 2008 Express. I haven't had any other problems with the connection string I'm using, and I'm using the simple SA account. Anyhow, thanks for the help.

Update: Originally, I had this, but then I switched to the above version to debug: _applies_to = models.TextField(db_index=True, default=cPickle.dumps(set())) I'm not sure why that wouldn't work.

  We've got an app written in Flex that displays data from our app. The .swf file is only 427kb, but it takes a full five seconds to load in Firefox. This is a headache for our users because they need to access the page that contains the app frequently. (The app displays documents, and it's really slow to march through a list of them). I've confirmed that it's not a slow web server problem. The .swf appears to be cached in the browser. Firebug reports that every time the web page accesses the .swf, the app server returns a "304 Not Modified" response, meaning that the load time from the server is almost zero. Is there anything we can do to debug this issue? Or is the Flash player just slow?

• VS2005 and VSS. Should .exes, .dlls, pdbs, .resource and generated .xml files go in VSS?

  It seems like the following type of files need to be writable to be able to compile a solution. .exe .dll .pdb (if debugging) .resource (?) .xml (at least the system generated ones. I'm not sure if they are just all XML documentationf iles) If they were checked in and could only be overwritten by the compiler by the person who had them checked out, then checking them into sourcesafe and requiring a checkout to modify them, which is attemtped by the compiler each time you run, would interfer with other developer's ability to debug and run. What is the best practice? It seems like VSS automatically adds everything.
