  The situation: I need to create about 40+ solutions that all reference 3 projects and have one project that is unique to each one. I'd like to create a multi-project template that does this, but from what I've read it looks like it's very difficult or impossible (related SO question, but doesn't answer). I want my solution to look like this (names changed of course): These three are used by all solutions created under this "family": MyCompany.Extensions MyCompany.MyProject.Tests.Shared MyCompany.MyProject.Scripts This one is the one that makes the solution unique, 123, 124, 125 etc: MyCompany.MyProject.Tests.Unit123 Is it possible to set up a multi-project template that will generate this structure?   I'm having success when I use this code to get a string from an array of file names called "fileList": cell.timeBeganLabel.text = [[[self.fileList objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]] lastPathComponent] stringByDeletingPathExtension]; so I expected the same code to generate the same string as a key for me in this: NSDictionary *stats = [thisRecordingsStats objectForKey:[[[self.fileList objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]] lastPathComponent] stringByDeletingPathExtension]]; cell.durationLabel.text = [stats objectForKey:@"duration"]; or this: NSDictionary *stats = [thisRecordingsStats objectForKey:@"%@",[[[self.fileList objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]] lastPathComponent] stringByDeletingPathExtension]]; Both build without error, and the log shows my data is there: but I'm getting a blank UILabel. Have I not written the dynamic key generator correctly?

In Course model most important is course_id, which i'm passing into view throught URL parameter (for example http://127.0.0.1:8000/courses/course/1/). What i want to achieve, is to generate 'invisible' (so user can't change the inserted data) form with just input, but containing request.user and course_id parameter.

  Hi, I want to store a number of url patterns in my django model which a user can provide parameters to which will create a url. For example I might store these 3 urls in my db where %s is the variable parameter provided by the user: www.thisissomewebsite.com?param=%s www.anotherurl/%s/ www.lastexample.co.uk?param1=%s&fixedparam=2 As you can see from these examples the parameter can appear anywhere in the string and not in a fixed position. I have 2 models, one holds the urls and one holds the variables: class URLPatterns(models.Model): pattern = models.CharField(max_length=255) class URLVariables(models.Model): pattern = models.ForeignKey(URLPatterns) param = models.CharField(max_length=255) What would be the best way to generate these urls by replacing the %s with the variable in the database. would it just be a simple replace on the string e.g: urlvariable = URLVariable.objects.get(pk=1) pattern = url.pattern url = pattern.replace("%s", urlvariable.param) or is there a better way? Is there a definitive list of characters I should avoid? my current list is il10o8B3Evu![]{} Are there any other pairs of characters that are easy to confuse? for special characters I was going to limit myself to those under the number keys, though I know that this differs depending on your keyboards nationality!   A constructor of a class can be a template function. At the point where such a constructor is called, the compiler usually looks at the arguments given to the constructor and determines the used template parameters from them. Is there also some syntax to specify the template parameters explicitly? A contrived example: struct A { template<typename T> A() {} }; Is there a way to instantiate this class? What is the syntax to explicitly specify the constructor's template parameters? My use case would be a problem were the compiler doesn't seem to find the correct templated constructor. Explicitly specifying the template parameters would probably generate more useful error messages or even resolve the problem.

• Given a user control with a form containing validation can I validate entirely server side?

  We have an existing User Control that was built to dynamically generate a web form for an end user. This form includes required field validators, custom validators that use server side code and Regular Expression validatiors. We now have a need to use all these validators to verify that all the needed data is entered when using a separate ordering process that cannot be validated in the same way, but has the same validation requirements before it is added to the database. I would like to use this user control to validate the input by passing it all the values and checking the validation summary. The only way I know how to do this is to render it to a page on the client side and trigger the form submit. Is there any way to populate and validate a web form entirely on the server side?

  I have the following class as part of an asp.net application. public sealed class SomeClass { private static string appId = Guid.NewGuid().ToString(); public static ReadSomethingFromDb(){} public static WriteSomethingToDb(){} } There are more than one application instances in the same application pool, and they all access the same database. I want the operations performed by the above class to be uniquely tied to the instance that performed it, hence the use of the appId. So adding a record to the database would for example contain a name, address and appId. This has been simplified for discussion purposes. Assuming that I have two instances running at mysite.a and mysite.b the above class would generate two different guids. My problem is that mysite.a sometimes produces more than one guid, which is unexpected. Thank you in advance

  Here's a situation which I have encountered, creating a form on the client side and using PHP to process. Here are some considerations The PHP script generates the form and send to the client side. This is because of internationalization issues The client side uses JavaScript to submit form; the ID of the form is hard-coded inside the JavaScript as it is generated by PHP. This means everytime the PHP code is updated, the JS must change. The question here is, who should be dependent on who? Should the JS generate the form instead, so that the PHP script has to know the names of the form elements? OR should it be the other way round?

  I am attempting to persist objects that contain some large Serializable types. I want Hibernate to automatically generate my DDL (using Hibernate annotations). For the most part, this works, but the default database column type used by Hibernate when persisting these types is tinyblob. Unfortunately, this causes crashes when attempting to persist my class, because these types will not fit within the length of tinyblob. However, if I manually set the type (using @Column(columnDefinition="longblob")), it works fine. Is there any way to make the default binary type longblob instead of tinyblob, so that I don't need to manually specify the @Column annotation on each field?

  is it possible to load only the latest associated record of an associated table? an example: class author attr_accessible :first_name, :last_name, :birthday has_many :books end class book attr_accessible :pages, :date of publication, :title belongs_to :author end Is there a way to generate a scope to load only the newest released book the author wrote? Or the book with the most pages? I know, that I could include or join all books. But I don't know if its possible to load only a specific book for each author. I tried to copy the source/res and menifest file of Android application form linux and started creating a new project on windows. I tried to replace the source/res and menifest of newly created Project on windows with one on linux. It was unable to generate R.java file. • char '0x8' what character is this?

  I have a large amount of data in a database. When I attempt to read a certain portion of the data and generate some xml and send it to a webservice I get the following exception... The char '0x8' in 'java.lang.IllegalArgumentException'. I'm guessing it is some bad data, as it has worked perfectly for about 7 months but now some user uploaded some new data that seems to have some issues. Anyone know what character this is so I can just run a sql query and clean it from the db? Thanks in advance.

I have been doing this so far for each table, but with more than 70 of these it becomes cumbersome and boring to do. Is there a way to generate the following code dynamically, And swap out the hardcoded tablenames with the values from the parameterlist?   I know there are three retention policies for Java annotations: CLASS: Annotations are to be recorded in the class file by the compiler but need not be retained by the VM at run time. RUNTIME: Annotations are to be recorded in the class file by the compiler and retained by the VM at run time, so they may be read reflectively. SOURCE: Annotations are to be discarded by the compiler. And although I understand their usage scenarios, I don't get why it is such an important thing to specify the retention policy that retention policies exist at all. I mean, why aren't all the annotations just kept at runtime? Do they generate so much bytecode / occupy so much memory that stripping those undeclared as RUNTIME does make that much difference?

I have tried V_ARGS (I need it only for gcc), but I can only copy all the elements by that, not to process them separately. What can I do? P.S. Because of some reasons, I can't use Boost.

  I want to make an unlevel background and then generate some test data on that using Matlab. I was not clear when I asked this question earlier. So for this simple example for i = 1:10 for j = 1:10 f(i,j)=X.^2 + Y.^2 end end where X and Y have been already defined, it plots it on a flat surface. I don't want to distort the function itself, but I want the surface that it goes onto to be unlevel, changed by some degree or something. I hope that's a little clearer.

I have to use ip address in name of the class in css like this: <td><div title="delete" > <xsl:attribute name="class"> delete_link_<xsl:value-of select="destinationIp"/> </xsl:attribute> <img class="row-remover" src="/media/img/remove.png"/> </div></td> and i have this jquery function: $('.delete_link_<xsl:value-of select="destinationIp"/>').click( function() { // do some thing here }); but because there are 'dots' in ip address, the above code doesn't work. when i remove dots of destinationIp tag in xml file, it works. so i think it has problem with 'dot'. any idea to make it work? really thanks :)
