  • Using LaTeX, how can I have a list of references at the end of each section?

    I want to generate the bibliography for each section, and have it at the end of the section. When I do this at the moment it generates the full bibliography and places it after each section. Is there a way that this can be done? The advice here says "The chapterbib package provides an option sectionbib that puts the bibliography in a \section* instead of \chapter*, something that makes sense if there is a bibliography in each chapter. This option will not work when natbib is also loaded; instead, add the option to natbib. " I don't understand what this means, and I've tried experimenting with what I thought the options are. Specifically, what does "add the option to natbib" mean? Thank you for your help.

  • Why does File::Slurp return a scalar when it should return a list?

    I am new to the File::Slurp module, and on my first test with it, it was not giving the results I was expecting. It took me a while to figure it out, so now I am interested in why I was seeing this certain behavior. My call to File::Slurp looked like this: my @array = read_file( $file ) || die "Cannot read $file\n"; I included the "die" part because I am used to doing that when opening files. My @array would always end up with the entire contents of the file in the first element of the array. Finally I took out the "|| die" section, and it started working as I expected. I have a feeling this might be more of a Perl precedence question instead of a File::Slurp question. I looked in the File::Slurp module and it looks like it is set to croak if there is a problem, so I guess the proper way to do it is to allow File::Slurp to croak for you. But, if i press down-arrow key on keyboard, it cycles thru the options in the order I've inserted, but never does it show more than 1 option in the box. So, In case an user wants to select option3, he has to cycle through options 1 and 2 !! Though once I select any option using the keyboard, the appropriate event handlers are fired, I'm miffed by this behaviour , as is understandable. I'm listing the properties of the combo-box control as well - only the properties that are true(rest are set to false): Type - Dropdown Vertical Scrollbar Visible Tabstop This has bugged me for weeks now. Can anyone pls enlighten me ?

  • Should I throw my own ArgumentOutOfRangeException or let one bubble up from below?

    I have a class that wraps List< I have GetValue by index method: public RenderedImageInfo GetValue(int index) { list[index].LastRetrieved = DateTime.Now; return list[index]; } If the user requests an index that is out of range, this will throw an ArgumentOutOfRangeException . Should I just let this happen or check for it and throw my own? i.e. public RenderedImageInfo GetValue(int index) { if (index >= list.Count) { throw new ArgumentOutOfRangeException("index"); } list[index].LastRetrieved = DateTime.Now; return list[index]; } In the first scenario, the user would have an exception from the internal list, which breaks mt OOP goal of the user not needing to know about the underlying objects. But in the second scenario, I feel as though I am adding redundant code. Edit: And now that I think of it, what about a 3rd scenario, where I catch the internal exception, modify it, and rethrow it?

  • How can I efficiently group a large list of URLs by their host name in Perl?

    I have text file that contains over one million URLs. I have to process this file in order to assign URLs to groups, based on host address: { 'http://www.ex1.com' = ['http://www.ex1.com/...', 'http://www.ex1.com/...', ...], 'http://www.ex2.com' = ['http://www.ex2.com/...', 'http://www.ex2.com/...', ...] } My current basic solution takes about 600 MB of RAM to do this (size of file is about 300 MB). Could you provide some more efficient ways? My current solution simply reads line by line, extracts host address by regex and puts the url into a hash. Looks like I can hit whois.internic.net to get information about each domain, but it also looks like there are rate limits that prevent me from doing large numbers of queries. Is there a way to periodically (say daily) grab the entire whois database? I really only care about whether a domain is registered or not, so I don't need the full whois information.

  • Can you use the PackageMaker command to create an installer from a list of files?

    I want to (periodically and automatically) create an installer from various files and folders that are in many places. But, I can't figure out how to supply the packagemaker command with all the paths of the items I want to install. This is for internal development purposes, not for customer distribution. I want the files included to be configureable; it's not really an option to use the GUI to add all the paths because they will change frequently. The best I could do was to use the --watch flag and touch all of the stuff I wanted included in the package. This is very messy and includes other files that happen to be accessed at the same time. There isn't a common scheme to what I want to include, so I can't just --filter the rest out. Is there a better way? Am I missing the point?

When I click a cross with class delete in the second ones(plain html), it works nicely. However when I click a cross in the first ones, it does not work.
